I always enjoy my stay at the Budget Inn, owner/front desk personnel very accommodating and helpful. Very much enjoy the peace and quiet of this establishment, away from So Lake Tahoe Blvd.

I stayed here while in a hiking trip for Van Sickle Park. The location was a shirt wlk away fron the park entrance making it ideal. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. There is a Mexican restaurant just around the corner but plenty of food options are within walking distance. I ended up extending my stay by an extra day (decided midway through the first day) and the staff made it easy, although this was off season so they had availability. I had an issue with the microwave malfunctioning and beeping during my stay but I was told to just unplug it and that solved the issue. Again the staff was very helpful and easy to work with. The room was quiet, with the exception of some noisy neighbors during their unloading. I will definitely book here again in the future and highly recommend it for the reasonably priced rooms as well as everything else I’ve listed.

We stayed for three nights and visited Tahoe Blue for a concert. Room was very clean and comfortable but spent very little time in the room. Because there was a lot of rooms and very few people staying it took approxamently ten minutes for hot water to come through the tap. Beds were firm but comfortable. TV was a little strange as far as channel selection but only watched in bed at night.

Rolled in late on Sunday for a room to stay the night. Check in was quick and friendly. Room was to be expected for the price. Clean and orderly but nothing luxurious. Great value for what it is and not a dump at all. Very close to main attractions. I’d stay again.

Not hotel room but u a bad stay. Price was a little high for a typical hotel room but this is South Lake Tahoe. The place was a little small but is kept very clean. Shower and sink faucet water was slow to warm. Bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows if you don't like to sleep flat. Location is excellent next to shops also Harrah's and Caesars Republic Casinos are about 430 steps away on the sidewalk. I booked with Hotels.com for $208 for 2 nights. I may call the hotel directly the next time I stay there if I do not have comp stay at Harrah's.

We went to watch our daughter’s soccer game and needed a room for the night. We were greeted warmly and felt very welcome. Our room was comfy and clean. My only complaints were 1. the towels were very worn out and a couple had stains on them.
2. They need to get a new mattress pad. The one on our bed was all balled up and I could feel them through the sheets.

Simple, cozy place to stay in Tahoe on a budget
The owners are very sweet, the wife even told us about a Hozier concert that was going to happen near the hotel that same night. We were unaware of it and we are glad she told us. We got last minute discount tickets and attended that amazing concert!

Sure, this is a budget hotel that looks like it was built decades ago. While it lacked modern amenities, it was clean and quiet and priced appropriately. I wouldn’t want to spend my vacation at this hotel if I wanted to spend a lot of time in a room, but it was fine for passing through or spending time outside.

Nearly every piece if bedding on both beds were stained. The comforters and the decorative pillows were stained the most. The toilet paper that was on the roll was nearly empty but the first sheet was folded into a point so it looked \"fancy\" or clean. I was not comfortable using a mostly used roll of toilet paper. On the plus side, no bed bugs or noticeable bugs anywhere. The A/C worked well. Front desk staff was nice.

For me personally it’s about location and value when staying in South Lake Tahoe this hotel has both. It’s walking distance to state line so casinos, restaurants and shops are all close. The rooms aren’t fancy but they are nice enough and serve their purpose which is a place to relax, rest and shower. The staff was also nice which is not always the case at other surrounding lodging.

Stayed here before and returned because it was comfortable and a great location. It’s still good but we checked in and tried to take a late shower and water was mildly warm. Didn’t report it because we thought it was a fluke. Stayed two night and on morning of check out tried for a shower but water was dead cold. Tried turning on the sink and shower to draw hot water but no chance. I’m sad because I liked this place. The manager acted like I was the first person to tell her this and said I should have called front desk. The timing didn’t work for complaints and we pretended we were camping instead and were so happy to return home to a warm shower. Bummer, as it really changed my feelings about this place and there’s too many other options to stay there again. Good management would have made it right by offering a slight discount on our next stay or anything to show they care.

I like this place for its location right across from the gondola of the Heavenly Ski Resort. It’s also right next to shops and lots of cafes and restaurants, needless to say the casinos.
The place is nice and clean with amenities. Parking is easy. Internet connection is fast.
Most of all, the staff cares. For example, on my last stay, I left my ski gloves in the room. Two weeks later, on my current stay, they kept them. I got them back.
I do not hesitate in booking this place.

The motel is great for its location within walking distance to everything (gondola, casinos, shopping, restaurants...). It’s been renovated, and the room looks clean, has no odor. The room is decent in size, but the shower stall is a bit tight for tall, big people.
The lady at the front desk,Lisa, is friendly and accomodating, allowing us to have early check in when there was rooms ready. But she's not always there if you need for anything. You have to ring the bell and hope she's inside to come talk to you.
One thing we'd like improved: some pillow cases may not have been changed for new arrival, they stink from previous sweat or odor even though they look smooth. The beds have 4 pillows each, so I had to pick another one to sleep on.
Other than that it's a great place to stay at for our weekend ski trips. We'll definitely stay here again.

The room was okay but the finishes were in dire need of repair. The floor separation from the bedroom to the sink area had flooring that was completely detached. This is an older property in need of repair/maintenance. Parking is also a potential issue as there are far more rooms than parking spots and on street parking is not available. But the staff and close proximity to the downtown area greatly make up for the motels short falls. My family will definitely keep this motel an option for our future trips to the area.

I had a one night and 6 night stays over 2 weeks. Lucy is accommodating and quick & easy check in. Location is excellent, easy walk to gondola, restaurants, casinos, and Starbucks. Older building, my rooms appear to be recently updated. Has an in room refrigerator and microwave. A good value if you just want hotel without all the frills.

Budget Inn offers exactly what’s on the label but fits the bill perfectly when looking for a warm bed right across the street from the Heavenly Gondola and plenty of options around for après-ski food and drink. Bring a grounded power bar though as none of the plugs in the room would hold a two-prong charger in place.
