The room was small and very hot as the window didn’t open that wide. It was very clean but a little dated.

Uncaring staff! Travelled several hours for a funeral, were told they would wait for me as they were about to close. Arrived, told them I was outside the property and then they hung up on me and wouldn't open the door! No compassion, just greedy!

Room was basically clean. My only complaint is that the shower worked intermittently. When I got it to a temperature that wouldn’t scald me it stopped. After a few minutes tried it again, got a burst of water for 1 minute then it turned off again. This performance repeated several more times til I gave up on it.

Wow, thank you to Sue and her team, Sally, Sal and Will. What a warm welcome! We had such a lovely time with you all. A well run, friendly and warm spirited pub and B&B. The drinks were cold, and flowed easily and the food second to none. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay. No wonder the local patrons enjoy spending their down time with you!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming pub, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. I was really happy with the staff there. Everyone I dealt with was pleasant and helpful. Lovely breakfast and as clean room, clean sheets, clean bathroom. Nothing fancy but just what I wanted. I`m not a drinker but the pub looked authentic and inviting. I was automatically upgraded when a double room was available for most of my week. They made the holiday very pleasant.

Good room for single walker

Good for coastal path walking. The 95 bus stops nearby and goes to Bude, Crackington Haven, Tintagel, Port Isaac and Polzeath. The single room is fine though small and includes a kettle, tea and coffee. The pub breakfast is good. Parking isn't guaranteed but people are continuously leaving.

Shabby tired smelly pub

We turned up to a very shabby tired looking pub. Inside was no better and didnt smell great.
I had booked a double room but single occupancy but at the last minute my daughter had to stay with me. After artinging i was told thete was a £40 extra fee for my daughtet to stay with me, i understand i had bolked single occupancy but £40 in addition! We looked at thevroom, the smell going up yhe stairs eas awful, old and damp. You couldnt swing a cat in the room so i couldnt hand over another £40. There was mo friendliness or cpasdion from the manager who stunk of cigarettes so we left.
We found an amacing hotel just 30 minutes down thevroad at a country club that was cheaper and stunning.
Please dont waste your money here, its grotty

We booked in but found the \"free\" breakfast which was advertised did not exist so had to go to another hotel about 7 miles away at 8.00pm at night so not really a good experience. We paid for a meal before we left and that was fine.

Cheap cheerful clean and good value

Really nice pleasant welcome.
The room is small and basic but clean and for the price I felt was good value.
Really cold night but once I found the extra blanket I had a good night's sleep.
The breakfast which is included was very good.
It's located a bit out of the way and just off a main road, however it wasn't a problem and as there is food and drink available . I can't think you would need to go out

OK, so it may not look as \"well kept\" from the outside, but this is a proper working pub with welcoming staff and great food. When it says home made - its home made :)
Great selection and all the staff are really welcoming even if you do arrive a couple of hours early for check in...........
Its on a busy road junction but i had a road facing room and was not woken by the noise

Very near to several beaches and is really well placed to explore Bude and surrounding areas at a fraction of the cost of hotels in town.
My room was not the biggest - but a lot better than a few ive stayed in. Frankly i think they should be charging more based on what ive been charged through Hotels.com for similar accomodation.

Don't trust Hotels.com twin status!

Hotels.com advertise the double rooms as double rooms and the twin rooms as double/twin. Since i needed a twin i booked the double/twin room only to find that i had been allocated a double room. There was nothing the the management would do. Not funny after a long days walk.

Disappointing !!!!!

Starting with the positives; we had a warm welcome, there were lovely large towels and nice toiletries, the bed was comfortable and the bedding clean. Unfortunately, the room was VERY basic and in need of updating and TLC. There were spiders and webs in the room and we felt that the bedroom and bathroom needed a thorough clean. The large window was broken, and once opened, it was impossible to close. The television would not turn off using the control and had to be turned off via the plug. The pub is situated on a VERY busy main road, with constant traffic and associated noise. There is a decking directly below our window (room 3) where customers using the pub gathered. We encountered noise from the pub until the early hours of the morning. A guest staying in the room next door switched on their TV in the esrly hours of the morning, which disturbed our sleep. Breakfast was plentiful, but a little greasy. We would not stay here again.

Sue and her staff were great. Friendly and always there to help. Good pub grub and a decent breakfast. The noise from the busy road was very loud. Perhaps tripple glazing would help. The room was very basic but the bed was comfy. The carpet was'nt fitted and was shy of the skirting board by a centimeter or two on two sides.ļThe curtain was useless. It stood away from the window meaning people could see in and also the light after dawn would shine through. After the pub closed staff and a few locals tended to gather on the decking right below our room. Smoking and talking loudly so we had to close the window but even then you could hear them talking into the late hours.

We found the Inn to be OK, nice enough staff and atmosphere in the bar area. The room was small though and basic but very clean. We paid nearly £200 for 2 nights and felt that for that money the room should have been a bit better. We stayed on a Saturday and Sunday, Saturday was noisy until late and yes it's an Inn so maybe to be expected however because of the curtains being so see through I was also awake with the birds. The location is on the main road so good for getting to bude etc, you are reliant on travelling for food or entertainment if like me there is nothing on the menu that can be eaten. I would say the venue is OK for passing through but I wouldn't want to make it a holiday destination for more than a couple of days.

Unfornately the night of our stay ,i think the main barmaid/manageress,..was clearly out of her depth..she was very rude and as soon as we walked thru to thier Check point Charlie *for the Covid ,we were made to feel at unease & unwelcome.
we paid £95..for poor service,rudeness and a downright stinking attjtude,from the 1 individual..i would not recommend the Wain house
The younger barmaid was very polite & efficient , at her job and the Landlady was very helpful ,but because of this 1 person,we didnt enjoy our stay at all 3/10

Really enjoyed my stay at the Old Wainhouse. This good value accommodation was comfortable and had everything I needed. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful and that's what made the stay great. The only downside is that you can hear the local A road, so don't stay there if the noise of traffic keeps you awake.

The location is good as it's a relatively short drive to Tintagel, Port Issac etc. The service was great and the staff were helpful and polite. Breakfast was quite limited, but generally as expected. Parking was easy and plenty of spaces. The food at the restaraunt was decent, but you would perhaps expect more for the price. The bathroom in the room was spacious, but the room itself very small and walls paper thin. The Wifi is 'public' access and the signal in the room we were in was poor and regularly dropped out.
