The property was great overall. Staff were friendly and did come to sort out a couple issues asap and we really enjoyed our stay. Could do with some TLC to get it to that next level but was a great holiday breakfast isn’t massive choice but was nice. We had a family plunge pool room that have heaps of space and even a good wee gym. Island isn’t massive so only 50mins roughly from airport. Would highly recommend own transport . Would I recommend yes .

Love the villa with pool, was sad to leave, wil love to stay here again. The area is really quiet, and you need to go by car to bigger stores. But for us this was perfect! Was traveling with kid so the quietness was perfect ;) also good food at breakfast and the restaurant. Thank you!

The whole experience at this resort was poor. Most of the beach furniture was broken. The choices and amount of food at the breakfast was inadequate for the number of guests. The room was super dated with a hard bed and poor quality bedding and the lock in our door was difficult to open with our key. The staff in the lobby looked bored and were very unhelpful. This hotel needs a lot of attention and should not be not be supported by expedia.

Front desk staff was not very welcoming/engaging. I start in the Private Pool Villa. The pool was dirty, the waterfall never came one, rain entered from the roof into the shower and the room needs some work. Would not recommend. The restaurant and housekeeping staff were great.

The customer service was excellent. After I checked I to my room. The bathtub was still dirty. I asked the staff to clean it up and they cleaned in a timely manner. The seal of my toilet broke and I asked the service desk to fix that also. Took about 3 hours and they fixed it while I was out. The hotel also provided shuttle services to popular tourist spots on the island.

Before arriving, we (two adults and two children) had already spent 13 nights on Koh Samui at another hotel. We booked Kanok for our final three nights before flying home.

We arrived just after lunch, got our room immediately, and went to the beach. After about an hour we ate lunch at the hotel restaurant. We had eaten all over the island without issues, so we had no reason to worry. We all shared and tasted each other’s dishes.

A few hours later, one by one, we started feeling “off”. What followed was a nightmare: all four of us had severe vomiting and diarrhea all night. To us, it was obvious this was triggered by lunch at the hotel restaurant.

What made this unacceptable was the hotel’s response. We received almost no help. Late that night I had to fight for basic supplies like water and toilet paper, and was told to take a taxi to 7-Eleven to buy more. None of us was in any condition to go anywhere, yet there was no support or understanding.

No one checked on us or offered assistance. The next day I contacted reception via WhatsApp asking for help with water because we were dehydrated, and was told I had to order/pay for everything. Of course we pay for what we consume—but the lack of empathy and responsibility was shocking.

Only after significant effort did I manage to get a doctor to come. We left the next day for our flight, still weak and exhausted.

We are extremely disappointed and cannot recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed a great stay at this resort, and during low season it felt as though we had the place to ourselves. The beds were comfortable and the buffet breakfast, complete with an omelette station, was excellent. The pool, however, was rather dirty and had a noticeable green tint, with plenty of debris floating on the surface. It didn’t look especially inviting, but we gave it a try. Some sharp tiles on the pool floor caused a few near misses, so the pool is definitely in need of maintenance. We soon swapped the pool for the sea and found the private beach area wonderfully relaxing.

The resort was lovely. The views were scenic, the staff was friendly and very attentive, and the food was great. We had a bedroom with a huge bathroom, as well as a private pool. The rooms and outdoor areas were very clean. The vibe of the hotel was relaxed and perfect for a beach vacation. There were several places to eat within walking distance, as well as store right next door. We really enjoyed our stay.

If you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you. Beautiful beach, and our unit, and many others, have their own private pools to lounge in. Some beachfront restaurants nearby as well, but Mango Tree restaurant was the best, in our opinion. Transportation is readily available, for a price, since it is quite far away from the action, which we thought was great.

Breakfast had a good selection but was basic in its offering in terms of western choices (toast, cereal, yoghurt, 2 types of fruit), enough to start your day and the coffee from the coffee machine was decent. A comfortable and easy stay for the price point. The hotel is also easy to communicate with and no issues with arranging transport or settling the bill at checkout.

4 nights here definitely not long enough… The staff were all brilliant from the gardeners to the receptionist just a wonderful relaxed feeling this place has. Included extensive breakfast overlooking the beach another bonus. Quiet gently shelving sandy beach - west coast = sunsets. Ocean-front location is great, and the hotel is in a nice, quiet area, convenient to the ferry but a bit of a trip from the airport and main shopping areas.

Generally a good value for the money, but breakfast was not included with the room rate via Orbitz, which it should be. For what is offered even an extra THB 250 seems a bit much.

Property could use a bit of a refresh, especially the built-ins in the rooms. Clean (and kept clean by the staff) but definitely a bit worn down. That said, my plunge pool was wonderful, and the staff was very responsive and friendly.

I would definitely consider staying here again, especially for the price.

An amazing hotel. Just got back from a 10 day stay at Kanok Buri and i highly reccomend this hotel. The staff are so lovely, funny and helpful. The private beach is so convenient and the pool is gorgeous. Food is lovely too. Its on Lipa Noi, west side of Koh Samui which is quieter than the East but this is what i wanted. Beautiful grounds with exotic trees, koi fish in ponds and its so easy to book a 'grab' taxi to go to places around the island so transport is not an issue, loads of gorgeous of places to eat near the hotel ( we liked trying new places each day) breakfast at the hotel is amazing, pineapple pancakes were my favourite, the fruit is out of this world too. Chef and front of house staff are amazing here, thank you Kanok Buri for an anazing holiday!!! Hope to see you again. Xx

When we arrived at 6pm we were made to wait around for 15 minutes before taken to a room. The room we booked was supposed to be luxury but when we got there it was very dated. It had a private pool that needed cleaning so we didn’t use it! Bedroom and bathroom are clean, if you can get this room discounted sure, it’s ok, but don’t pay full price for this, I’d say it’s worth $50 a night max

We stayed here for 4 nights on Koh Samui, and found the grounds to be amazing and well looked after, the room was great with only one note id say is the AC only works with the key so it had AC off all day and took an hour to cool it back down. Breakfast was good, staff were good and helped us rent a motorbike. Overall a nice experience.

Good place to spend peaceful time but far from the downtown... You must consider to rent scooters or cars if you want to visit other place at your convenience, the taxi is minimum 400 bath per trip to the closest place, and the hotel propose one shuttle per day at 3PM to drop you where you want, but you must come back by your own...
The swimming pool of the resort is not so impressive that on the photos. The house with this option included a nice swimming pool, the pool depth is fixed and convenient for children from 4 years old.

The spot for the beach is quiet, not crowded, safe

This was a great hotel. I was here for my cousin's wedding. The only thing is, if you want a night life, there is none on this side of the island and it's far. Taxi ride can add up. But to get some r and r and private time- this is the spot to be!

Staff was friendly. We stayed in the older part of the resort closest to the beach. Our room had the plunge pool. Given our room was older, the bathroom was not that great. Our shower head kept getting loose, but maintenance came right away to fix it. Our room had an ant issue, every night I went on a hunt to kill whatever ants I came across. There would even be in your bed. The breakfast could be better. I wish they would use food covers to protect the food that’s sitting out, every morning, fruit flies would swarm the fruit and whatever food that has been sitting for who knows how long. Best part of the breakfast buffet is the made to order egg station and view of the ocean while you eat. Other than the breakfast buffet, the restaurant at the resort is pretty decent. Location is a bit isolated, but isn’t that the point? There are a handful of small eateries around. But if you want to go shopping, you need to take a taxi and head about 20mins away.

The hotel was very accommodating , the rooms on the pool side of the resort were fine but bathroom facilities dated
We moved to the rooms with their own pools on the other side of the road which were very good more expensive but worth it .
The hotel was very quiet to start with then got quite full , lacking unfortunately a good resturant , buffet breakfast was OK but had better. Staff lovely and friendly and tried hard to please , A car would be a must to see the island and for eating as there were only a few restaurants to walk to and could get expensive to use taxis to go to other areas.
We were a family meeting London and Austrailia so wanted somewhere in between,

Nice quiet hotel

This hotel is great value for price (not the best, but decent) if you are staying in the Taling Ngam area. This area is quite secluded and far away from the nightlife (in Chaweng), so it has some ups and downs. There's hardly any restaurants nearby, nor a convenient store. Travelling around, either try to rent a scooter, or download the "Navi Go Thailand" app (their version of uber, but there aren't many cars around so be prepared for 10min waiting time) as that's cheaper than the hotel taxi.
I got a Standard Double Room, the beds were nice, room was clean, though the spa on the balcony was a tad dirty. Bathroom is clean, though the shower is a bit small. A couple of annoying things were 1) the shower seemed like it had a temperature timer where it would give out nice warm/hot temperature for about one minute, then it would turn cold for 30 seconds (even if you put it up to max hotness it's still cold), and repeat that hot-cold cycle. 2) Seems like the toilets cannot handle 2-3 wipes of toilet paper, since the pipe kept on getting clogged.

If you like a quiet getaway at Taling Ngam, then this is cheap and decent.

This is not a 4 star spa resort.

After a very pleasant and reassuring welcome we experienced a sharp decline in the standard of the hotel comparing to how it was advertised. The room was slightly damp, the air conditioning was very loud and utilities were of a poor standard, even when they were working. For example there was no hot water and the spa was only open upon request and overpriced as were the food and beverages.
Location and hotel were peaceful and isolated which was what we were looking for but having a means of transport is essential if looking to leave the hotel, which you will want to do.
The hotel overall has a lot of potential but 4 stars is extremely generous and we felt that the price did not reflect the quality of the accommodation.
Although offering a beautiful beach area, the atmosphere was somewhat lacking and we found ourselves walking to other resorts in the area.
Overall we were disappointed as it is nowhere near the standard advertised and would certainly not consider it a spa resort. We have never left a negative review before but we really felt that we could have got a nicer resort for half the price on Samui. Other guests clearly felt the same as there was someone complaining every time we walked through reception.

Hotel was located in a quiet resort but with its own beach frontage and within walking distance of a couple of roadside restaurants.

Rooms and the hotel in general were of a good condition but could do with some modernising. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Reasonable price and great if you are looking for a very quiet relaxing hotel.

A Couple's Retreat

A Couple's Retreat, a perfect hotel on a beautiful island which opportunities to relax. Unfortunately, I was not in a couple, I was travelling with a friend and had booked this hotel because it was close to Nathon Pier, where we were next travelling from. After the antics in Bangkok this place was perfect to just relax on the beach but I very quickly got bored and apart from the use of the gym and the kayaks there wasn't much else on offer and the nearest busy beach with bars and other travelers was on the other side of the island. However, this wasn't the hotels fault at all, who offered free travel to Chaweng (not back, that would have been helpful though) and were always on hand to help with any questions. I wish I had done more research before booking. Nook, one of the women on the reception was particularly helpful, always greeted us with a smile, spoke fantastic English and always tried to help as much as she could to resolve our boredom, one day booking an excursion for us. A great hotel for couples, NOT TRAVELERS, unless you want to get away from loud noises and the hustle of travelling.

A peaceful week at Kanok Buri

Stayed for seven nights with my three children. Reception and housekeeping staff were extremely helpful. Swimming pool and beach never crowded. The meals in the hotel are overpriced, however there was a small restaurant just outside that served lovely food at a more reasonable price which we used on a number of ocassions. Although there is not a large selection of food for breakfast (compared to most hotels we've stayed in before) it was sufficient as there was a choice of hot and cold options. The atmosphere at breakfast time was also always very calm and never over-crowded.

The hotel was stunning to look at and right on a stunning beach and quite part of the island, however the rooms were dated and not very clean with thick layers of dust in places.
The wedding we attended was amazing and very well organised and that was our reason for staying.
4 kids out of the group got very sore rashes from the pool on the first day as the clorine and ph levels were way out which resulted in the doctor being called out, the staff did not take any responsibility and were extremely rude and would not allow anyone to speak with the manager. After this know one from our group entered the pool and some of the group cut their stay short and moved hotels.
The bar shut at 10pm and even while open ran out of drinks on many occasions. There was no atmosphere here and we found ourselves eating out most nights.

Chose hotel for quiet side of the Island - lived up to expectation completely. This would not apply if this was your first visit to the Island and you wanted to explore the popular destinations - it is quite remote with limited access to local taxis. Maintenance of the Hotel could be improved - however problems with the air conditioner and safe were promptly attended to. Breakfast staff were certainly in "Island Time" and Staff could improve their attentiveness. Enjoyed the stay immensely.

The Hotel location is in the quite part of Lipa Noi If quite is what you prefer this could be for you (but maybe not for much longer??).We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, it is clean,has good amenities, with the reception staff,and drivers all being very attentive.Nothing is to much trouble and always done with smile..Although having said that the Restaurant did leave rather a lot to be desired. Breakfast was acceptable,but Noodles, Rice, Salad Etc, being left out uncovered for the birds to help them selves with clients still coming in for breakfast is not. Lunch.. With deep fried Prawns was awful. Which was reflected in being empty thereafter. However, the small restraurants across from the hotel have varied menus,good local food and great value for money. The Mango Tree is a place to try with a very good chef.

We recently stayed at the Kanok Buri. It was beautiful and we were upgraded to a nicer suite with attached pool upon arrival. The restaurant is nice, breakfast is quite simple. The downside is that it is very far from the airport and the airport charges 1200baht to get there. Book through the resort and save.
Also, make sure to visit the food stands across the street for cheap beer and amazing mangoes!!

Nice at Kanok

Kanok Buri was a lovely resort, with very friendly staff. The hotel was well maintained, my only complaint was the bed (very hard and uncomfortable). We had friends staying at other resorts (Lipa lovely and Lipa Lodge,their beds where hard also) The breakfast was o.k, not a lot of choice. Location was great,some shops opposite and great food across the road very cheap. We noticed our hotel was not as spaced out as others, which had far more lawn than ours. Lipa lovely was two doors up, no internet apparently or gym (not that ours was too flash). Lipa Lodge was more for couples, and not walking distance to anything, and right next door to a very ordinary group of dwellings! The massage opposite us was great and half the price of hotel rates. We were in a jacuzzi spa deluxe room, which was upstairs and had a bit of sea views,unlike most rooms. Overall,very happy we went there!

Dated....Outdated.....Hotel needs a facelift

The Good:
-Let's start with the positive - the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
-There is a beach.
-That's it full stop.....

The Bad:
-The jacuzzi room which we booked is directly on the main road. We asked for a change of room and got upgraded to a pool villa on the other side of the road which was very dated.

-The breakfast was the worst we have ever had...limited and dismal. The juice weren't even fresh, they tasted like cool aid. Shame.

-They will charge you for ice if you request for it to be sent to your room. I have never heard of any hotel charing it's guest for ice before....never! But I guess there is always a first.

simply paradise.

charming well located right on the beach 4 star big spa resort.
the location is briliant but defenetelly not for someone who wants to party-that i will recomend a chaweng beach. the water is very quaiet and calm.
best place for romantic stay, with the most beautifull sunsets on the island.
if you would like to discover the island rent the hotel scooter for a 250baths per day- amazing experiance!!! a lot of people has recomended the big john restaurant just next door, it's nice there but well overpriced. you can eat same standarts and quality of food on the markets or just simply a cross the road in local tai bars for not even a half of the money i have paid there...i would recomend the big market driving towards lamai beach,just 2 km from the hotel lication on the left hand side. i have bought a 1 kilo of the big prawns for 200 baths and have paid another 50 to a lady who cooked them for us in a wook...in big john restaurant you would have to pay around 1000!!!
hotel staff is ambelivablely friendly and helpfull - especially lady called Joom!!!

Kanok Buri Hotel in Koh Samui - Paradise

On the quiet side of the island (so take note: taxi from the airport is expensive). Wonderfully isolated with amazing pool-on-the-beach and open air restaurant area. If you want to relax, this tropical resort is the place!
Staff fantastically friendly and amenities great. Hotel has scooters to hire (at affordable rate) so transport is easy once you are there.
Take note: don't be excited by the offer of a jacuzzi. It is merely a bath with jets and fits only one person comfortably. BUT.... in the Thailand heat you don't particularly need a jacuzzi! The sea water is as warm as a bath.
We loved our stay at Kanok Buri and will definitely visit again!

Tropical Garden Paradise

We were originally booked in another hotel in Lipa Noi, but construction works caused us to change to Kanok Buri at the last minute, The location of the rooms in beautiful , luxuriant tropical gardens are great - need to mind the resident frogs , part of the water features, on the way back from dinner !!.
The rooms are really nice with great big 4 poster beds and many have private plunge pools.
Reception staff are lovely smiley (typical Thais)), although a bit more attention from the restaurant staff would be good - they ought to be offering YOU afternoon cocktails by the pool , rather than you having to chase them!!
The Pool, is good, the beach a bit of a problem with rubbish washed up in rainy weather. (One of our travel companions cut his foot , walking on the beach in shallow water!).
Restaurant is OK and other resorts nearby give you some good options for variety , and transport can be arranged at a reasonable price to visit other parts of the island.
You would not consider staying here is you want the night life of Chewang!! But If you want peace, tranquility and great sunsets then this is a great place

My daughter picked this resort for her beach wedding...it was fantastic, very well organised and the staff were brilliant, it started raining during the meal but the whole thing was transfered inside within 5 mins...The only downside was the resort is quite away from the airport 40 mins in taxi, and also from the main shopping area and pubs and clubs in Chewang Beach Resort...

I daydream about going back when I'm at the office.

The Kanok Buri was really great. It was very beautiful, right on a private beach. Tthe food was excellent. It was not crowded. We were in the newer section of the hotel, and had a private spa that was the size of a small swimming pool. The rooms were fabulous, large, cool and beautiful! I expected a business-type hotel and instead it was an intimate, charming place. We didn't leave the property for 3 days!

Also-great place for a destination wedding. There were two while we were there and they were lovely.

Det halter lidt med rengøringen og hotellet kun godt trænger til en omgang, vores plunge villa var hyggelig men slidt og senge en smule hård men personalet er hjælpsomme og der er god smag i maden, så over all har det været et godt ophold flere gode restauranter i nærheden specielt Tammi og mango tree men ellers er der langt ind til noget så regn med mange taxa penge
Men over alle fint tilfreds strand og solnedgang er super

Chambres plutôt propre.
Légèrement bruyant la nuit car la route est plutôt fréquenté.
Très loin de tout donc a choisir pour le côté isolé et paisible (sauf la route)

Wir hatten das Zimmer 704 mit einem eigenen Pool und täglichen Besuchen von 3 verschiedenen Katzen. Haben es dort geliebt. Man hatte seine Privatsphäre durch die Mauern und der Weg zum Strand waren keine 5 min. Wir waren danach noch bei zwei anderen Unterkünften und Kanok Buri hat uns am besten gefallen und gefehlt bei Abreise.

Einziges Manko:
Abgeplatzter Lack in der BW und sockere Fliesen am Poolrand.
Hat uns beides aber nicht wirklich gestört 😊🍀

Das Hotel ist sehr sauber und das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich . Es ist zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber reicht vollkommen aus um einfach zur Ruhe zu kommen . Das Frühstücksbuffet ist einfach gehalten .Die Lage des Hotels ist etwas abgelegen so dass man immer an Taxi sehr teuer oder andere Verkehrsmittel gebunden ist .

Udemærket hotel. Vi havde valgt villa med private pool. Poolens renseanlæg virkede ikke, personalet var søde til at forsøge at fikse det, selvom det tog et par dage. Hotellet ligger et rimeligt stykke fra Chaweng, og det kan vær en fordel selv at leje en bil eller scooter for at komme rundt, da der ikke er meget at se i nærheden
