The service of the staff were excellent in service at the bar and service of my evening meal and breakfast. But unfortunately when I went into my room it was very cold and the heating in the room did not seam to work I needed to keep the bathroom door open to try and let the radiator in that room to try and help heat the bedroom. When I said about this I was told it was because I was a last minute booking so they never had the heating on in the room. The next issue I had was there was not hot water in the morning for the my sower. When I never got any good response about the heating in my room I thought there was no point in saying anything about this. Otherwise food was very good and a lovely building and atmosphere just could have been a little bit warmer on a winters night and morning for a shower.

Yes enjoyed our stay very much even though the weather was not too good , the hotel was warm and welcoming and staff were friendly and attentive also the food was excellent, room was clean and tidy also was good having a bath in bathroom ,we had been here before and more than likely will come back again. Lovely little hotel, nice room and very pleasant staff. Unfortunately we arrived after dark so didn’t manage to enjoy the views until the morning, and then we had to leave, but the food was amazing, not cheap but thoroughly recommended. Would havecenjoyed staying longer. Thank you!

Really conformable stay at fife lodge hotel. It felt more luxurious than other accommodations we have stayed in on our trip, staff service was excellent. We stayed in the executive double room and the extra space this room offers I would highly recommend. The bed was so comfy and it is in a good location to explore the surrounding areas.

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. It’s a perfect place to relax. The attached bar and restaurant are the best in the area. Reservations for dinner are recommended. The dinning room is small so the reservations fill up. It is also a good central location for exploring the north coast and highlands.

A king room, but de luxe? Hardly

We had a lovely, big and airy room. The king bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food, particularly the breakfast, was excellent. There were problems, however.
On our first day the plumber was in and out of the bathroom as there were water problems. Later the room went cold (the plumber had switched off the heating and left it off). The next morning the shower barely dripped. Later, there was no water from the hot tap. Eventually it did come out but was cold!
Not exactly the de luxe experience we were expecting given the price paid.

Was an incredible stay. We were the only guests as it was the off season and we felt so looked after. There was a lovely man working the mornings (didn’t catch his name but he was absolutely beautiful) who did everything he could to make us feel welcomed and comfortable! Great location for daytrips along the coast, good amenities and amazing food! We’ll definitely be staying again

Loved the cooked to order breakfast rather than the buffet style which can be hit or miss. So nice to have toast brought to the table in a toast rack.

Staff all very pleasant and helpful.

Dined there on one evening, simply delicious.

Owners were happy to recommend eating options elsewhere.

All in all we simply must recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Banff area.

Refuge from the rain

We booked an overnight stay with the aim of attending an outdoor Shakespeare production at Duff House. However, it poured with rain all day and we decided to forego the tickets while the players performed to an audience of 15 bedraggled spectators.

Instead we had an excellent meal and watched an European Semi-final football match.

Nice hotel, dated but still very nice. Reception staff great, dinner was lovely. Breakfast was not so great, once we sat the waitress took our order but an hour later no sign of it, she claimed it was misplaced then when it did arrive the sausages were raw. No offer of fresh hot coffee or to replace stone cold toast.
