The staff, from the beginning to the end of our trip, were exceptional. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to ensure that all of our needs were met. The hotel is situated in one of the most breathtaking locations imaginable and offers outstanding amenities, including a wonderful spa and beautiful pools.

The golf course was impeccably maintained, and the scenery is truly second to none. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return. While the prices are certainly on the higher side, the overall experience makes it well worth the cost.

Another great feature is that the hotel is within walking distance of the town of Banff, with several fantastic hiking trails accessible directly from the property. Lastly, I highly recommend Castello, the hotel's Italian restaurant. The quality of the food was outstanding, and the prices were very reasonable considering the exceptional dining experience.

I am torn for giving the Fairmont Banff Springs a 3-star rating, however I just couldn't get over the tiniest hotel bathroom I've ever seen at a luxury property nonetheless.

I do have to say that the service at this property is outstanding. The Fairmont Gold experience is fantastic as was the amazing Gold Concierge, Oliver.

When I checked in I was assigned an accessible room which I was disappointed with. The concierge on duty assured me they would try to find me another room starting the next day, and in hindsight I almost wish I'd kept the accessible room as it was much larger with a huge bathroom compared to what I got in my next room.

Oliver was so very kind as upgraded me to a junior suite on the Gold level with amazing views. The room was absolutely lovely aside from the tiniest bathroom I've ever seen in any hotel, much less a luxury property. I understand that the age of this property necessitated some creative bathroom locations due to plumbing, however this is on the ridiculously small side. It was impossible to event close the door with one person standing in the bathroom.

Otherwise, everything was fantastic with my stay:

Fairmont Gold 5/5: The Gold reception area with dedicated valet and check-in makes the gold experience feel like a hotel within a hotel. The gold floor is so special with a dedicated concierge (say hello to Oliver for me :-), and the best lounge food and beverages I've experienced. Good location and the building looks magistic. The check in was very slow. When we got into our room, we found 3 big suitcases there, perhaps belong to the previouse guests. And we had to call staffs to take them away. The maid did not clean the alarm that previouse guset set. The alarm went out at 4:25 am which woke us up, seriously disturbed our sleep. No night service. Staffs at the entrance of restaurants and bars are snobby.

Overpriced and overrated. The room was small and had a primarily obstructed view of an adjacent roof structure. When this issue was mentioned to hotel staff, nothing was done and no compensation was offered. Staff seemed uninterested and disengaged with the overall guest experience and did not even ask us how our stay was upon check-out. Food was overpriced and service was slow in the Vermillion Room. Overall poor experience not worthy of the Fairmont brand.

The Gate House is not fully renovated and craftsmanship in the room is just as good as normal hotel. I don't know why would someone pay that much, looks like it's just a name. Fairmont ain't getting business from me anymore. Thanks

We stayed in the family Gatehouse rm 1003 for 3 nights. The place is the perfect blend of luxury and patina rustic charm. Only complaint was that the bathroom did not have a lock in a family room. And the TV could not be tilted or turned so the kids could watch from the bunk beds.
The staff and site were pristine with full marks on friendliness and help offered.

I am a long time fan of Fairmont over20 years, but never experienced such extremely poor Wi-Fi connections during our entire four days stay(5/13-5/17), internet access was slow and unstable in room and in public areas, which made it very difficult to plan activities during the trip. Reliable wifi is essential nowadays, especially when trying to plan activities, communications, or work during a trip. Unfortunately this became my major frustrations throughout our four nights stays in this trip.

I checked in on the 13th of May and were with a group. I had an extended stay. The only issue was the last night we had prepaid with Hotels.com and the reservation was duplicated. It was an inconvenience but the staff at the front desk was able to resolve it quickly. I would highly recommended this hotel. Worth all the money. The staff is very professional and experiencing Banff was amazing 5 stars

This is a beautiful hotel, basically a castle in the Rockies. However, it is an extremely old property and that in itself limits the property. The rooms are okay, very standard for what you get in a 3/4 star hotel. The bathrooms on the other hand are what you get in a 2 star hotel. The bathrooms are very very dated and extremely small. Our bathtub was chipped, it's also very tiny. You can just get one person in the bathroom, that is it. The toilet was also very very stained.. And not pleasant to look at either, they were clearly old worn out marks. The bathroom is not great. The bed and pillows were comfy, an AC that works. I think people see the building and completely forget that this is just a 4 star hotel. It doesn't look it on the outside but inside the rooms it is evident this is not a 5star unfortunately. The rate you pay for the room in my opinion is absolutely not worth it. I love my luxurious hotels and have no problems with paying alot of money for nice hotels... However I would not say the amount I paid for this hotel was worth it unfortunately. If you want to spend time in this hotel, explore, dine and walk around.. But save your money in my opinion.

The pool could’ve been cleaner but still the perfect temperature and the change rooms and couches were clean. The vermillion room was amazing, absolutely perfect breakfast everyday. We did the campfire experience and it was lovely. The staff were all so friendly.

This hotel is perfect if you went skiing and need to relax afterwards. The spa facilities are clean and well kept. Customers have to pay an extra fee to use these facilities. The gym was disappointing—it was small and not well equipped. The food and service was excellent at all the restaurants that it has to offer. We stayed at the Fairmont Gold and didn’t get a proper tour of our room and the texting service did not work. I felt the staff could go further to accommodate the customers.

Breakfast buffet is always good and the Rundle Lounge is a great hangout place after a long day.

The only downside is that the hotel has lost a little of its luxury charm (we’ve been staying there many years), it seems to cater more to conferences / corporate.

The staff were incredible. Our car was always ready for us and everyone was kind and paid special attention to detail. One staff member over heard us talking about going to dinner at one of the restaurants at the hotel. We asked him if we needed a reservation and he said no, you should be able to get right in. We had a party of 9. When we showed up to the restaurant a table was already reserved for us because that staff member had called ahead and reserved the table for us on our behalf. 10 out of 10!
