Clean room. Paint chipped off bottom of hot tub. Was refunded the difference to make up for not being able to use it. Worst part was the parking. Its across the street, but spots are so tight you almost can't swing in. Somebody scraped up against my truck & gouged the paint.

Funny that your suggested idea was \"was the hot tub hot enough\". I booked this hotel for the hot tub and also called the hotel directly to confirm the hot tub was open since it was off season and was told it was open, when I arrived, I asked the front desk what time they closed the hot tub area and she said it wasn't open, very disappointed. Overall, okay stay... but would have stayed somewhere else if I knew the hot tub wasn't available.

The location and front desk staff are great. Our jacuzzi aopeared clean until it was turned on. Dirt and sand blasted out of every vent qhich was incredibly gross. There was some trash on the floor when we arrived as well. Aside from that it was good.

The rooftop pool is closed from Labor Day until May, which I expected, but with major festivals happening, you'd think they'd maintain and keep it open. The indoor pool is extremely small—more like a large hot tub—and not inviting. Worse, on our first night, the bathroom in the pool area had feces all over it. That was the only time we used the pool.

The rooms feel outdated and could really use a refresh. One of the lights didn’t work, and there were noticeable dust bunnies that should’ve been cleaned. The toilet paper was also poor quality—minor, but frustrating.

Price gouging during festivals is expected, but it feels unjustified when the property itself hasn’t been properly updated. There's only one elevator, which wasn’t a major issue for us since we were on the second floor, but still worth noting. The entire layout of the hotel is odd and not very convenient.

Parking is another downside—either across the road, further down the street, or $20 per night for \"premium\" parking, which feels like a ripoff.

Overall, we wouldn’t stay here again.

Price we paid did not live up to the quality received. Pictures did not live up to the hype. smell was moldy, towels were rough , bed was not comfortable. I was not happy with my decision & immediately regretted the decision. It was near the boardwalk was the only benefit. I should have read the reviews prior. They should use fabric softener for the towls & blankets. Mold in the shower. Try elsewhere until they make corrections or renovations

Cons: noisy ac unit that dripped and made the carpet wet and room humid, shower water would only get tepid regardless of time of day, room was noisy due to poorly insulated balcony door, smelled of mildew and strong bleach, parking lots are too tight. Overall poor value for the high cost.

Absolutely one of the worst experiences ever! The hotel advertised free parking; but all of spaces under the hotel were marked reserved with one handicap. There was no loading zone, only two decent sized but old and rickety luggage racks and 5 very small racks with huge gaps across the bottom so your stuff kepf falling through. The reserve spots cost $22.50 per night! The free parking was across the main thoroughfare into the city and a block down in two small lots with very narrow parking spots. Only one extremely slow moving elevator. One of the beds had a dirty sheet left one it with body hair and dirt stains. The coffee pot was filthy, and the microwave tray was greasy on one side and sticky on the other. Will definitely not be staying there ever again.

The rooftop pool/bar is awesome, and the bartender was super nice. Family friendly hotel with plenty of restaurants in the area, you can find something for everyone.

Awful place to stay

The first I notice when exiting the elevator there was a mess in the hall way. Once in our room the rug was soaked not wet. Apparently the air condition was leaking. I did not complain immediately because we were there for an event and had to get change and leave. I did not want to return. Once in the bathroom the towels were not completely dry. Why was it okay to leave the towels? Anyone holding them could feel they were not dried. The bath tub and sink were clean. However the toilet was nasty. The mattress was awful when you sat on it squeaked and pillows were horrible. When we returned I made the front desk aware. The hotel gets away with charging the high amount because of the convenience of the location. I do not recommend anyone staying at this hotel. The worst part was when I went to complain about the rug and towels there was customer service from front desk. Meaning for example sorry about that let me send someone to your room or let me change your room etc. There was a lady behind me when I explained the towel situation the lady says reason why she was there as well. Clearly dryer wasn’t working g appropriately. How the pictures display the hotel is false. Not clean needs a redo.

STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Honestly, only nice thing I have to say about this place is that it was a nice location & we had a nice view from our room. The rooms were dirty, upon arrival there was sand all over the floors, outlets didn’t have covers on them(traveling with a 2 year old, that was frightening), gapping hole around where their sprinkler for a fire, towel rack holder fell off the wall, absolutely filthy hot tub. Went to the front desk to talk to them about covers for the outlets and the concerns about the hot tub, to be greeted with “wow you are just looking for everything, aren’t you?” What friendly front desk staff this place has!! Then, I said I would like a refund because I felt insulted. They would only refund one night for our three night stay.. & we were asked to leave the premises to receive the one night refund only staying there for one night. Absolutely was the worst hotel experience I have ever had! Unless you feel like being treated like a pile of crap from their front desk employee & relaxing in a brown bubble hot tub- I would recommend going somewhere else!!!!!!! Added photos of outlet & fire sprinkler, did not have my phone on me to take a picture of the hot tub.

Terrible experience. Place wasn’t clean. They ran out of towels and it took a day to get any. Service was extremely slow. Beds were very uncomfortable. Blankets felt like sand paper. For starters there was a hurricane on the day of our reservation and I tried calling multiple times the day prior and they kept saying a manager will call me back but that never happened. I was basically forced to drive through a hurricane or lose my money. The fact that the manager never called back not even an apology was very unethical.
Then once we were there room was extremely small and the smell of cigarettes in the hallways was disgusting. The towels were ripped. The indoor pool looks like a hot tub and the pool was a kiddie pool 3 ft deep only. Definitely false advertising and paid way too much for what we got. Will not be back to this place.

First room we were assigned smelled moldy/musky. Staff assigned a new room. The smell was better. However-mold on the ceiling tiles in the bathroom. Ceiling tiles were falling out. Carpet really needs to be replaced or at the least shampooed. We have an 8 year old and his feet were filthy just from walking on the carpet. The screen door to the balcony was broken-wouldn’t lock and would come off the track. Pool was absolutely freezing…I know not really the fault of the hotel but ice cold in August. Couldn’t even swim. Upon our arrival, we checked in and went to the room. When we arrived, the cleaner was still cleaning our room. The floor/carpet was so dirty that when we walked on it, our feet were black. The shower had sand in it, so not sure how it was cleaned. We requested more towels and washcloths multiple times throughout the day by contacting the front desk. Either in person or by phone. The mini fridge was frozen. The sliding door to the balcony was unable to secure as well. Other than all of that, not too bad of a stay.

I liked the outlook of the room. However, things were broken such as a fridge shelf as well as the hot tub being dirty and hair found inside it. We contacted the front desk. They said they would get a cleaner to clean it for us while we were out for three hours. We came back to find nothing had even been done, there was still hair left in the tub.

We also noticed a car parked too close to our car over the line so we spoke to the front desk where two members of staff were no help whatsoever after telling us that they’d contact the driver. The next morning, a new person was working the front desk. We mentioned it to them, and they left a voicemail instantly to the other driver which got it rectified the same day.

Overall, a great hotel for convenience since it’s right by the boardwalk. However, not for cleanliness.

Do Not Stay Here – Misleading and Disappointing Experience

Room: The moment we walked in, the room smelled awful. The balcony was disgusting—littered with cigarette butts and empty wine bottles. Definitely not what was advertised.

Parking: Incredibly inconvenient. There are only about 8 reserved parking spots, and you have to book them in advance. Otherwise, you’re stuck parking down the block and across the street. Most hotels include parking—this one does not.

Housekeeping: We stayed for three nights and not once did anyone come to clean the room. When we asked, the housekeeper told us her shift was over and that she had to rush to her second job (and then went on a long rant about her personal life). Completely unprofessional.

Customer Service: I asked for fresh towels, and the front desk lady during the day was rude and visibly irritated. Basic hospitality was totally lacking.

Noise: The hotel is next to a church, and the bell rings constantly throughout the day. It’s loud and impossible to ignore.

Pool & Hot Tub: The pool was filthy, and there were no umbrellas for shade. The hot tub is tiny—fits about four people—and has no lounge chairs around it, just a random bench. Tons of unused space with nothing but basic chairs.

Overall: This hotel is a total waste of money. It looks nothing like the photos, and the service is terrible across the board. I strongly recommend staying somewhere else.

This is our second time staying at the Monte Carlo and this was definitely a better experience the room we had this time was much nicer and upgraded…. I would definitely stay again and it was much cleaner then other hotels we had stayed in and we literally transferred from one hotel this week that we had to this one bc we found it to be very dirty and had bugs and immediately called Monte Carlo and was able to accommodate us with a room the same day! The only complaint I have with the Monte Carlo is the pool side area don’t always have the bar opened and the check in area, elevator's and doors need to be cleaned other than that I have no complaints about the rooms being cleaned found nothing that would not would have made me stayed here!

The hotel was dirty when we checked in. The shower was filthy with the previous persons used soap still sitting there and hair all through the tub. Shower curtain looked like it hadn't been washed in months and there were no towels. Had to request multiple times to have it cleaned and it never was. To get new towels and even to take the garbage out to which they said it would be done tomorrow. The soap dispenser in the shower was empty. And if you walked on the carpet it turned your socks black. The pool never had towels. Had a weird smell in the room that can't describe. Would not stay again and would not recommend.

The hotel is in a nice location. The parking is terrible unless you get directly across the street. They only had one elevator and one ice machine that didn’t work. My room wasn’t clean when we checked in at 11pm. I reported it but it still didn’t get cleaned. We didn’t get service the entire time we stayed. The pool area was very nice on the roof. Arriving at the hotel there was no place to park for check in. Once I enter the room the only thing good was the clean bed and clean towels. No shampoo nor conditioner the carpet wasn’t vacuum and dirty the balcony

Its fine if you want to be in the beach area

The room was clean, though some of the pictures insinuated that the hotel next door was part of the facility. Thats all ok, but for just a little more you can get a place that has on site parking, includes breakfast, or a beachfront view. Compared to some of the other resorts of a similar price, its kind of a one-ice-machine small joint. Of intetest the tv was a mixed bag too. You can broadcast anything from your personal streaming accounts on your phone, as long as you go though the in house internet, but you need a lot of patience to figure out how to flip back to regular broadcast. It does have a rooftop pool though, and its absolutely a stones throw away from the beach and boardwalk, but its not beachfront or luxurious by any stretch.

i stayed here with my family of 4. for the price i thought it was very nice. the pool on roof was fun and you’re right on a corner entrance to the boardwalk. i was hesitant because of the noise but it was totally fine. anywhere you want to go is no more than a 15 min drive, or the bus stop is right outside the hotel.

Our saving grace

After a horrific experience at The Commander in which we only stayed a night, we quickly left and headed to the Monte Carlo. The room was spacious, smelled great, clean and comfortable. This hotel was definitely the saving grace for our family vacation.

I didn't like the parking. Across the street and down the road.. tight spaces! No one came to clean our room, i had to request towels, mold avove the tv aling ceiling. Over all i wont be re booking.

The hotel needs to be updated very bad. We had a jacuzzi room but didn't use it because the floor was falling apart and it looked like it wouldn't be enjoyable. Dirt in areas that should be cleaned. Cracks in drywall entire way around the wall where it meets the ceiling. Sprinkler head piece falling off. Probably wouldn't be so disappointed if we weren't paying top dollar for a room with a bed.
