Great staff and location, but room, breakfast and facilities were lacking - did not feel like a 5 star hotel. Our bedroom was often damp, the carpet had wet spots and 1 day our bed sheets had wet patches that we had to blow dry. The bedroom was also directly next to a roundabout so heavy traffic and no privacy to see the views / needed more sound proofing.

Room was spacious and clean. The staff was not paying much attention and service was slow and unfriendly. Every time you go in/out they need to open the gate. Not very efficient and a little annoying.

Breakfast was mediocre.

\"Ocean view\" rooms are overlooking the road and unlikely to be worth the extra price.

Beautiful, large, airy new rooms. Wonderfully hospitable staff. Attentive to your needs in advance of your arrival. This property is right by the cliff walk where you can watch for whales. You can grab an afternoon bite and cocktails at a popular bar bayside across the street. Center of town is about 1/2 mile away.

Elegant hotel with fabulous service

A gem of a hotel —elegant, comfortable rooms with glorious ocean views. The breakfast are huge and delicious. But what makes the hotel are the staff members . I’ve never been at a hotel were the staff felt like friends who joked with us and cheerfully anticipated our every need. One evening my husband didn’t feel like eating out, so we got some take out from a local restaurant. When they saw us arrive with it, the staff immediately got plates and cutlery and glasses for us and set us up in the pretty garden. We didn’t want to leave this haven .

Loved my stay at this hotel. The staff were all lovely and very friendly. The rooms are well appointed, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and made to your preference. The location was great with the cliff walk directly opposite the hotel and it was a quick walk to many great restaurants. Parking was also secure and safe. Would highly recommend.

We stayed overnight in Hermanus en route to shark diving in Gansbaai. The property is very attractive. Our sea view room was large, clean and stylish, with many extra amenities such as a heated towel rack and bath robes. The hotel staff is notably professional and amazing, going out of the way to be friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

Friendly staff greeted us at the gate of the parking lot. This was a very quaint, friendly, fresh and clean boutique hotel. The morning breakfast was a great way to start the day. Across the street is Fick’s Pool which had a very beautiful restaurant with great food and beautiful scenery. It was a great experience all around.

Hotel is really well located, close to the beautiful trail overlooking the ocean, plus its walking distance to the lovely city center that has lots of restaurants. The view from the room was stunning. The hotel offers nice ammenities in each floor such as coffee, tea, a small fridge, etc. The room was spacious and very clean.

We had a wonderful 2 night trip to Hermanus, and our lodging at One Marine Drive certainly made the trip special. Very welcoming staff who gave some great recommendations where to eat and what to do while in Hermanus. The hotel is located within a short walk to town and across the street from the entrance to to the cliff edge trail which is fantastic place to spend a few hours each morning. Most of the rooms have an incredible view of the coast and the balcony is a wonderful place to spend time reading and hanging out. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Really nice and new amenities, large clear TV, good internet, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, etc though there was so much to do around Hermanus we didn't spend much time in the room itself. We will definitely stay at this room again in the future, and I can recommend to anyone visiting Hermanus.

An absolutely fantastic hotel on the seafront at Hermanus. We had one of the sea-facing rooms, which was spacious, spotlessly clean, had a balcony with a sweeping view of the spectacular coast, and was tastefully decorated with a high quality finish (large walk in shower but no bath). There were thoughtful touches like a welcoming drink, complimentary coffee, biscuits and Amarula, a complimentary mobile phone to book restaurants or taxis, and an iPad in the room. The staff were first class - exceptionally friendly, welcoming and helpful but never ‘in your face’. There is secure parking, a small pool area, and a fire to sit by if the weather is cold. Breakfast was excellent with a full cooked breakfast and a buffet of fresh fruit, cereal and pastries available. The cliff top walk is across the road and the centre of town with a number of restaurants and shops is about 5-10 minutes walk away. First class; I wish we could have stayed longer.

We absolutely loved this accommodation! We had booked the pool view room, however, upon arrival we were offered an upgrade (at no additional charge) to a room with an outside courtyard with ocean views. The bar / lounge area was perfect for a nightcap, and the breakfast was great. There's also a lovely quiet area with mountain views on the upper level, with a large comfy day bed to rest and relax. We would highly recommend this property.

I loved that this was a smaller property which had a large focus on customer service and creating a warm and relaxing experience. The property is vibrant without being loud, and close to the water and beaches without being in the heart of the town. This is the gem of Hermanus that is a must for any visitor truly wanting to get away from it all and just relax. The staff is what makes this property a gem. Smiling and caring people who take a genuine interest in your stay and are always ready and enthusiastic to make it a relaxing and memorable experience!

It was just amazing!! Nicole and the whole staff is so friendly. Our stay was a real pleasure! The rooms are very nice furnished and very clean. The view fron our room, called Ashley was excellent! We got a free of charge upgrade to a sea view room which made our stay even greater!! The village center is just a few minutes walk away from the hotel. You cannot go wrong with this little gem<3

Charming Oceanside Boutique Hotel

Absolutely incredible service on top of one of the cleanest and most charming places I have ever stayed. They went above and beyond to arrange drivers and activities for us and even made a breakfast basket to take with us when we had to leave on our shark tour early in the morning. We truly didn’t want to leave.

Best hotel ever

From the minute we arrived to the minute we left this hotel provided not a 5 star service but 6 star. The staff throughout were top notch doing everything you expect and beyond. The hotel sits just along from the main town within easy walk. The coastal footwalk is just in front of the hotel and is really lovely and safe. The cleanliness is second to none with superb facilities and free secure parking. We will not name names of who was great on the staff as they were all so so good.

Its all about Comfort and Style !!

My husband and I stayed at 1Marine Drive Boutique Hotel in May . It is very evident that attention to detail is a priority .This guest house is stylishly decorated , impeccably clean and has the most friendly staff . The view from the balcony and upstairs bedroom is magnificent . Free Wifi and Satellite TV was great. A huge thank you to the kitchen staff to ensure that we have a Halaal breakfast .Will definitely recommend it .

Best hotel in Hermanus!

We stayed here for couple of nights & the room, the views and even the staff were best in class. Every room has an awesome view of the ocean. The entire hotels i think has been newly renovated and the amenities are top notch. Above all the staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. One morning we were going to leave early in the morning before breakfast started at the hotel for an activity. We shared this with the hotel staff during a causal conversation the night before. To our surprise next morning we has breakfast packed and ready to go for us so we can eat on our way to this activity.
We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely come back for another stay.

Wow! What amazing service. I've never had such great service anywhere that I've stayed, and I travel a lot. Great location just outside of town, in walking distance along a lovely cliff path (that has an unfortunate amount of litter). Rooms were comfortable tho not large (and we had a little porch with an ocean view!), showers were great, breakfast was amazing, pool couldn't have been lovelier, parking secure.

We really enjoyed our short stay in Hermanus. The hotel was everything we could have hoped for really. The room was great and the staff friendly and helpful. There are no tea and coffee facilities within the rooms but there are stations on each floor to help yourselves, with the additional option to request through room service. Personally we would have preferred to be able to make our own rather than troubling the staff for drinks, but others may not be concerned by this!

A perfect small luxury hotel

In one word - PERFECT. The staff is so friendly and efficient. Location is heaven on earth- right on the amazing cliff walk close to everything. Very good breakfast, espresso machine is always available for the guests as well and fruits and cake. The room spacious, nice and clean. A modern quite air condition, towels warming facility that makes the cold morning much pleasant.
On our last morning we had to leave early to the airport. All the staff came earlier than usual to prepare breakfast for us and to help us with our suitcases.
We will come again for sure and we hope nothing will be changed.

One night is definitiely not enough at this amazing place! Everything is set up to perfection! Spacious and clean rooms with modern and stylish interior. Breathtaking views over the ocean.
