Really uncomfortable bed, painfully hard. The main building doesn't have a door, as a result the stairs and hallway have a strong smell of cat urine. Definitely wont stay here again!

Like being in a movie. This typical posada is absolutely divine—charming, authentic, and perfectly located. The atmosphere is magical, like stepping into a different time. It was a wonderful place, especially for those willing to experience staying in a medieval building. We liked the room, facilities, location, friendliness of the owners. A continental breakfast was provided as well as coffee when you wanted it, and snacks. The only disadvantages are not having an elevator and parking at a remote location.

It's an 16th C historical building that has been updated. Some of the decor is a bit quirky but it had a large room and was very comfortable. I recommend this as a good place to stay in Sighisoara.

Taschler Haus Boutique hotel is a must if you visit Sighisoara Old Fortress! Jan and Silvia are amazing hosts: very friendly, they texted us when the room was ready and helped us with driving directions, parking, restaurant suggestions and all our questions. The location is perfect: just 30 meters from the Clock Tower (you can see the tower from our window). We were welcomed in our room with famous Romanian “Vişinata” and the fridge had cold (still and carbonated) water free of charge. The room was very clean, had everything we needed plus plenty complimentary items like shaving kit, tooth brush and tooth paste kit. In the morning we had nice breakfast of pastries, toast, cereal, fruits and yogurt plus cofee, tea, milk, good quality OJ as well!
I highly recommend staying at Jan & Silvia’s place!

This is a very cute and conveniently located hotel. We had all the amenities we needed. There is no AC, but the room had a mini fan which was great!

Comfortable beds great hospitality!

This was an excellent place to stay for one or two nights. It was difficult to find and there is no parking at the hotel but parking is close. The couple that owns it does an excellent job at communicating everything at check-in and the room and place is charming and cozy. The beds are absolutely fantastic and we slept so well! Its an older “farmhouse” style and breakfast is limited to croissants/coffee/tea but we enjoyed all if it. Its a great location at the base of the stairs leading to the Tower. I wish we had stayed longer. Its very secure with keeping all the gates locked and doors locked too.

Great location -enjoyable stay!

The hotel location was fabulous: it’s situated just outside the clock tower gate of the citadel with many restaurant options in the surrounding streets.
We went off-season. Parking was on the surrounding streets; we found a spot several blocks away. The venue is a refurbished house and family-run. They guided us through a remote arrival as we had prepaid on the website.

The property is well located near the important attractions in Sighisoara. It is exotic and rather unique. I felt we went back in time to few hundreds years back. Yet the rooms are very clean and modern. The amenities are for a 5 star hotel. But most importantly is the hospitality and kindness we experienced. This is one of the best experiences I had in a hotel, mind you I am a frequent traveler and have visited almost all countries in Europe and Asia. Plus I travelled extensively in both North and South America

It was a beautiful old home. The hosts are really helpful and friendly. They were really generous with breakfast, water, coffee and tea even they don't have to provide anything.

As it is a old home, water pressure is really low but it was ok for 1 night.

I would go back if I come back to Sighisora.

We stayed at the Taschler Haus for 1 night in May. Our hosts were excellent and certainly went the extra mile to make our stay perfect. Breakfast isn't officially provided but an excellent 'Start of day' offering was available which included pastries, toast, fruit, coffee and juice. This could be taken in the open air courtyard (weather permitting) - a great start to the day. The location is also great being only metres from the old town and clock tower. It is about 15 minute walk from the railway station. We would certainly stay here again if ever in the area.

Unique boutique stay that felt like staying in a museum, antique looking wooden furniture, luxurious accommodation, with separate sleeping, lounging, and bathroom area as well as an anteroom for shoes/coats with a second door closing off foyer area from rest of living space. Smelling the wood smoke drifting over the rooftops while taking a truly luxurious bath was a new experience for me. Wonderfully convenient to the historic sites in Sighisoara.

Amazing accommodation, right next to the entrance of the historic old town. The room was lovely; clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. The couple who own the place and super friendly and helpful. They gave us free parking permits for our car and provided us with a great breakfast, even though officially the rooms are 'room only'.

My stay was perfect. The property is unique and perfectly located in easy walking distance to anywhere and anything you could desire. The staff were exceptionally friendly and the personal touches such as a homemade welcome drink were much appreciated. The bed was very comfortable and the shower water pressure was perfect. I have no complaints and I would happily stay here again and recommend others to so the same!

What a dream spot! You can’t beat the location: steps to the clock tower and the better restaurants of this little town. Jan, the inkeep, is a generous and welcoming man. He kept apologizing that they don’t serve breakfast, except they have all the things I like to eat in the morning: coffee, tea, fresh croissants granola, fruit, and jam.

The room was perfect too— a large, Uber-comfortable bed with a variety of pillows, internet tv, complimentary liquors, and a clean bathroom. The only thing to be aware of is that this particular room doesn’t have AC. Others do. It wasn’t a problem for us, as the fall air was crisp enough to just leave the windows open. The crowds are noisy, but we brought earplugs. You can’t expect silence when you’re in the heart of a tourist Mecca. Overall, we loved this place!

Bonus: there is an abundance of sweet cats and dogs on the street out front.

If you are visiting Sighisoara and can find rooms in Taschler Haus, look no further. This is an absolutely fantastic place to stay. The hosts - Jan and Silvia - are incredibly kind and thoughtful. The room we stayed in was so beautifully furnished that we almost did not want to put down our bags for the fear of disturbing it. The place looked like something out of a Vermeer painting. We had been provided water, tea, coffee, yogurt, cake, donuts, and even two bottles of dry and sweet aperitif. And even though our booking did not include breakfast, our hosts had coffee, yogurt, and delicious croissants for us in the morning.The house is an old house with a lot of old-style fittings that give it a nice atmosphere, but the fitting are very modern where it matters, i.e., in the bathroom. A great combination of convenience and style. And then there's the location! The house is situated right outside the main gate into the citadel. When you come out of the hallway on to the street, you face the gate just a few feet away, A 2-minute walk on the cobbled pathway going through it and you are at the clock-tower. I think this is better than staying in the citadel because it also gives you access to the lower town where the eating options are more diverse. The location feels very safe and secure. We stayed only one night but wish it was longer. Sighisoara is a beautiful town with great atmosphere - a place we would like to return to, and stay again in Taschler Haus.

The room was really nicely decorated. It was quite a unique experience to stay there, each item in the room telling a story. It also felt very luxurious, with a state of the art bath and a lot of goodies and yummy snacks included. If you want to experience Romanian hospitality you should book this hotel: the room was spotless with a lot of Romanian traditional touches and the owners couldn’t be nicer. Even though the hotel doesn’t provide breakfast there is an amazing morning “ snack” - coffee, tea, fresh fruits, croissants and yogurt ...
If we will ever go back to Sighisoara I would absolutely book it again.

We have chosen the hotel based on excellent reviews. And we weren't disappointed - great location in the Old Town, special design of rooms and common areas, hosts welcomed us with palinka, helped to park the car right at the house, suggested restaurants for dinner. Hot donuts in the morning. There were many free snacks in the hallway near the room. I agree with opinion of majority give it the same rating – just excellent.

Wow, Sighisoara is beautiful but made all the more memorable by a stay here. The Taschler Haus Boutique has 7 individual rooms in the main building, with a shared courtyard providing a sun-trap with unique views of the nearby clock tower, while a new addition next door houses 3 further rooms, again with a shared courtyard in between. That is great in itself but it is the quality of hospitality from the owners, Sylvie & Jan, that is second to none. In addition to welcome (alcoholic) drinks they provide 24 hour 'help yourself' access to free water, tea, proper coffee, soft drinks, local alcoholic drinks, fruit, croissants, pastries, cakes, biscuits, sweets etc. and if that wasn't enough we returned to our room on our last night to find that they had left us a carafe of wine as a leaving gift (and we should mention that we found all of the local Romanian wine that we tried on this trip to be excellent). Thee owners give the impression that their primary goal, rather than just making a living, is to make their guests stay in their little town as comfortable and homely as they possibly can, and they are simply lovely people. In all of our travels I can safely say that this is one of the best places we have ever stayed in and cannot recommend it enough

The highlight of our holiday!

This stay was a highlight of our trip around Transylvania. The small hotel is as charming as the owners, who made us feel so welcome from start to finish. Resembling an alpine lodge, the views of the clock tower from the lovely courtyard were stunning. We were given a welcome shot of palinka on arrival and a map with recommendations of the best places to eat. On another evening we were given a jug of homemade wine to enjoy in the courtyard. Outside of our room there was complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, as well as cookies and delicious pastries in the morning. The position on the steps up to the citadel couldn’t have been any better, while our room was comfortable and immaculate. Treat yourself and stay here to enjoy perfect hospitality from a couple who obviously love what they do.

This boutique inn is perfectly located at the foot of the old town of Sighisoara. Our room was large and very clean and had a view of the old clock tower. We had breakfast sitting outside on a terrace. The inn does not provide a hot breakfast but that was ok.

It just doesn't get any more central or atmospheric than this. You're in an old building in the centre of Sighisoara. The room is really comfortable, very clean and very tastefully decorated. Everything is at your doorstep, the host was great greeting us and helping us park. Overall, just fantastic.

I am a returning customer and will stop by again. This property is the nicest accomodation I have been to in Romania. It is of an incredibly high quality. The hosts pay attention to detail. Their only problen is that they are so nice that guests do not want to leave and hang out in their garden past check out.

The owner, Jan, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He provided us with coffees, croissants, fresh fruits, chocolates and cookies, and bottles of homemade wine and liquor--all of which was delicious. The inn is very cute and very old (500 years I think Jan said?). It's furnished with a lot of art deco antiques. It's right next to the old town section of Sighisoara and just a couple houses down from the home where Vlad the Impaler (Dracula) was born. Jan also gave us great recommendations for nearby restaurants. I would highly recommend.

This is an amazing place. Heritage from the older Saxon community of Sighisoara. Greeted with complimentary cherry wine. Also offered snacks for our room. Room was clean, tidy, and features a newly renovated bathroom. Beautiful view.

Only disadvantage with Taschler Haus is its location on a ridge. There are several steps (90) to get to the house. There’s no elevator, so it’s important you call the phone number if you need assistance with luggage. There is no drop off point.

Easily our favorite stay in Romania. Highly recommend.
