We had a very pleasant stay at the Rainbow Hotel. The location is excellent, right off Interstate 80, making it very convenient for travelers. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The bedding felt fresh and cozy, and we slept very well.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and parking was easy and convenient. My only suggestion would be to add a few hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels and clothes.

Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and would definitely choose to stay here again when passing through West Wendover.

Stench of smoke, pool closed, the staff was unconcerned and dismissive. There are not enough luggage carts so people hoard them and keep them in their room. The food in the restaurant was over priced. We were supposed to stay there on the way home and canceled.

The room was clean, but unfortunately several amenities were unavailable during our stay. The pool was closed, only one of the four restaurants was open, and there were no luggage carts available. While we may have been able to overlook some of those inconveniences, the biggest disappointment was the front desk staff, who were neither helpful nor very friendly. Good customer service would have made a significant difference in our experience.

The Worst stay I had in at least past 5 years. Staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Pool was located on the other side of the hotel, so you have to walk through casino in swimming attire. Steak house was overpriced and quality of food was less than Waffle House. Ordered 2 steaks medium- one was served well done and other one was rare.. not sure how it’s even possible. Sides were scrubs from whatever they had left from service earlier. Apparently we made a mistake of coming in at 930 and restaurant was closing at 10… they rushed us through and we were finished by 10. It’s Frida night mind you..Front desk person was rude and couldn’t answer any questions. Room was dirty and dusty.. I did not see any point asking for it to be cleaned. We were little late leaving the room in a morning and they sent security… like trust me nobody was trying to stay there any longer than enough time to get our stuff out.. my arm got injured in the elevator on the way out because apparently if the door is closing, it’s closing regardless of any body parts in the way.. overall it was very uncomfortable experience from the beginning to the end. We were looking for a best place to stay one night on the way to Reno, because we had a child with us and wanted to be in a clean, safe environment… Rainbow is not it. And pictures on website must be very outdated.. I would give it -10 if I could.

The hotel advertises a swim pool but doesn’t make any of the rooms available during the week in the wing of the hotel with the pool. Hence, you have to walk a considerable distance and go through the casino to get there. Would be helpful to have this info during booking.

AC / Heat can be noisy in some rooms. Top floor in warm weather ther ac units can be heard humming. The do not have microwaves in the rooms. If you book at the property, but on hotels.com, you could score a steamshower in your room. This would be why we chose the Rainbow whenever visiting the Wendover area. Since covid, the restaurants arent as good. Not enough people for the buffet, except weekends.

This might be my current favorite Peppermill property. It was quiet, all the staff were super nice, and the room was nice with a comfy bed and excellent shower (all Peppermills have excellent showers). Aside from Peppermill's $400 Tuscany Tower suite in Reno, the Rainbow has my favorite bed out of all the company's properties. Had a very late dinner at the restaurant, which was also my favorite of all the Peppermill diners aside from the O.G. one on the Vegas strip, with notably better-prepared food than either Reno location, and a really chill staff.

I am 78 years old- I asked the desk clerk to place me somewhere close because I cannot walk far. She put me on a 4 th floor room with a broken elevator, and she did not program the key card. After walking a mile back, they told me I could go elsewhere! Then they called security, and Michael was mad when he arrived- he told me to shut up and leave- I poked him with a finger, 6 young me attacked me handcuffed me, twisted my skin until it bled, marked me walk through the casino handcuffed, when I had an asthma attack he refused to in cuff me until his boss made him. The police were very kind, drove me to my car and said” that is quite a long walk. Michael should be fired. I am considering suing for elder abuse. This is the worst hotel in existence- they allow a group of untrained 18 year olds to push customers around- you don’t like what they do? Go elsewhere! the staff is belligerent, untrained and u helpful. They offered me no bellman assistant, did not even show me where the room was when I asked. I will never, ever again return to any of Peppermill property. They will hear from my attorney as well!
