2. Very comfortable with using the public bath (no need to run water in room tub)
3. The room was relatively clean but I did find 1 room slipper under the bed

It was very nice stay. The room was clean and nice. But the bathroom was too tight. Using the same faucets for both sink and shower/tub was not too tight. Understand that it’s probably more efficient but it didn’t help to make it look more upscale.

The price was very good via Travelocity, considering its convenient location. The hotel has public bath, self laundry/drier machines with reasonable costs. The room has small fridge. There is shared iron/board and microwave oven. The hotel has vending machine for drinks inside, which has similar price as the nearby local store. I enjoyed the breakfast included in the price.

Due to Golden Week holiday, only managed to book semi-double smoking room. Indeed room came with cigarettes smell, but still in cleanly manner. Room size is good enough for us. This is expected for middle-range downtown hotels in any big city at Japan. But hotel location is superb!. Hotel located next to North entrance of Sapporo Station. Pulling luggage to New Chitose Airport rapid train is effortless.

After spending most of my vacation in more casual accommodations, the Route-Inn in Sapporo was a quality and professional hotel experience. Good staff, facilities, and breakfast buffet, and it's literally right across the street from JR Sapporo Station which means you get in from New Chitose Airport and the hotel is close enough that waiting for the crosswalk signal to turn green might take longer than the rest of the walk over. They have onsen facilities in the basement that I didn't personally use, but the coin laundry machines are located just inside the dressing rooms down there. The desk staff's English ability is functional enough, though asking about more complex concepts might be a difficulty.

Well located, being a 2 minute walk from the JR Sapporo north exit and conveniently located near both a 7/11 and a Lawson family mart, what else can you ask for?

Staff were friendly and although there was a small problem on check in, they fixed it immediately and were very apologetic. We were only here for a night as it was the second hotel we stayed in while we were in Sapporo, but we would definitely be back.

The hotel locates just opposite to the JR Sapporo Station, which was super convenient. The room was small but the bed was comfortable.

The restaurant serving buffet breakfast was very busy. It'd better to have breakfast after 8:30am as most of the Japanese people will finish breakfast by then and rush to work.

The hotel was just across the Sapporo JR station and centrally located, close to small restaurants and shopping mall at the JR stations.The onsen at the basement is a plus and the breakfast is filling.There are some drawbacks aside from a small room is the air conditioning. It was April and a little cold outside but the inside temperature is hot. We tried setting the air conditioner to a colder temp but it was fixed at 20 degrees which is still hot.We just opened the window for cooler air to get in.When I asked the front desk they said all rooms are pre set to 20 degrees. Also, the TV channels are all in Japanese,the front desk said there's no English channel at all.

Very convenient!

Great value for this price and super convenient! Right at the north exit of Sapporo station. I used to stay at another similar hotel near the station every time I go there, that one is more pricey and the room is slightly better than this one. However, given the price is a lot cheaper than the other one, I would definitely choose to stay in this hotel for my future visit. One more thing is the hotel room is very warm and stuffy in the winter even with the heater off for the other hotel I used to stay, almost too hot to sleep. But for this one, it has no such problem. The only thing I don't like about the room is the hair dryer is too weak! Other than that, everything is good!

Japanese business hotel very close to Sapporo Stn

This is a useful Japanese business hotel very close to the NW exit from the JR Sapporo main station. This is an excellent location for anyone touring Sapporo, Otaru or anywhere in that area. The room was small, simple, (both normal for this class of hotel) and clean. The bed was very firm and very comfortable. Breakfast was a Japanese buffet only. This hotel is a good, cheap, choice for anyone who will accept the basic features and is happy to eat a Japanese breakfast.

Great location and a good hotel

The location is fantastic, right across the north exit of the JR train station. You can't miss it. It is within walking distance to botanic garden, old government house, Odori Park, Ramen Yokocho and Tanukikoji Shopping Street. The hotel furnishing is nice, the breakfast is wonderful - always a slight change in menu every morning. Free wifi connection is good. They top up the disposable toiletries like shavers, bath sponges,combs, toothbrush and toothpaste every day, even if you request not to have the bed made up, a fresh change of towels, yukatas, deposable toiletries and disposable slippers will be placed in a big laundry bag on the door knob for you. The staff are friendly. However their English is close to zilch. One staff can even speak Mandarin. Overall the service is quite good except one incidence when they misplaced the roomkey I deposited at their counter but they rectify the matter quickly. Room is small as usual for Japanese standard and the bed is really hard.

Heaving loads of luggage & no sense of bearing, we were so happy to see the Hotel Route Inn Sapporo the moment we stepped out of the JR station. Plus point was we've rented a car for our Hokkaido trip & car rental/collection is right in front of the hotel. With car, moving around the city center not a problem. We find walking distance a bit far from hotel to all the attractions, city centre & nearest subway exit. Room wise, we were given a room with window facing back alley, back to back with offices full of staff working. So we never open the curtain. Breakfast so-so.
Overall location is superb for our planned drive-around trip in Hokkaido.

Totally easy to spot if you're arriving out of Sapporo station. A fantastic location with walkable distance to the main sight-seeing location in Sapporo. Room is pretty cozy, and the check-in staffs speaks English pretty fluently. Breakfast selection is pretty good. Having both local and continental variety.

The hotel is just a short walk from Sapporo Station. The staff are friendly and helpful. Room is small with not enough walking space for 2 suitcases, but clean. The breakfast hall is a little squeezy but food quality is excellent for a non-fancy hotel like this. There's free wifi in the lobby and room. Overall, good value for money.

お部屋は清潔で、空気清浄機と消臭スプレーが完備されており、いわゆるタバコ臭さがありません。
ベッドボード（枕元）でUSB充電ができるのも便利！
朝食バイキングは品数が豊富で、白米のほかに五穀米やおかゆもあり、パンも美味しいので連泊しても飽きることがありません。
一度、予約が取れず、同価格帯の別のホテルに宿泊してみて気づいたのですが、ルートインの快適さは格別です。
大浴場も嬉しいし、WOWOWが無料。
インバウンドの団体客がいないせいか（たまたま会ったことがないだけかも）、館内も静かで、快適です。

ただ、みそ汁の具（白菜の茎かな）が大きくて、食べにくかったのでもう少し小さいと良かったです。
