I was charged $25 the day after I checked out. I called to find out what the charge was for. It was for coffee and water in the room, which I did not touch. It was for the 2 $10 breakfast vouchers I was given, which I left on the table in the room. Nowhere at check-in or in any email or on the website does it state you will be charged $25 whether you use these amenities or not. I had already planned going back to The Shoals with my daughter. But for $25 they just lost a customer.

If you are traveling to Southold, this is a very good choice. The property is nice and the staff extremely friendly. The room is satisfactory but I could not believe how strong it smelled of either air freshener or a febreeze type odor. I had a horrible headache the first night. Left windows and screen door open for the first 24 hours. Regardless, once the room properly aired out, everything else was fine.

I've stayed at this location many times, and I'll keep coming back, because it's possibly the most comfortable hotel I've ever stayed at, especially in the last fifteen years of having to rely on hotels for an overnight work schedule in the Hamptons.

But at check-in, they said they had not ordered them yet for the 2026 season, so that was a letdown. Also, the buffet breakfast we thought the resort would provide onsite turned out to be just (2) $10 vouchers/night to Stone Street Cafe a 4-min drive away. Street parking is easy there, but just a juice at the cafe was already $10.
A shout-out to Mario at the front desk though - he was responsive and prompt to answer all our questions. He was both kind and patient - a wonderful asset to Shoals.

My girlfriend and I stayed in April and it was amazing stay. Rooms are outstanding, one of the best rooms we ever stayed, and location was stunning. Beautiful marina, great waterfront views from the property. It was so quiet and relaxing. We went to Greenport for dinners. 10$ Breakfast cards were provided by hotel for Stone Street eatery and it was nice delicious meal. My girlfriend is from Milan, Italy and this was her first time in North Fork and she absolutely loved it thanks to The Shoals.

The Patio King is listed on Expedia as 1 bedroom...but it had 2 bedrooms, which is all i needed. Please refund the second Patio King charge which I paid for and did not use.

My husband and I spent the night here and can’t wait to come back the beds were so comfortable and it felt like we had our very own apartment to ourselves. We had to wait in a cold room until they switched us to a room with a working door & heat. This is my favorite hotel. I stayed last year for the first time and fell in love with it. stayed in the suite both times. It's the comforts of home, which is so nice. To have the living room, outdoor private patio, two bedrooms so you're not sleeping in a bed next to the other guests you're with is soooo nice. The rooms are clean, bedding is so comfortable, grounds are beautiful. Couldn't recommend it more highly and will definitely be back.

The scenery and being so close to all the wineries was amazing. However, I had quite a few issues.
When I cooked, the fire alarm went off because there was no fan. The manager asked why we were trying to make it stop when there was no threat or safety issue, startled my boyfriend so much he fell, and then disappeared. The police came a few minutes after, and I explained everything to them. A few minutes later came the fire chief. The police and fire chief agreed that there should be a fan, and it was not my fault.
I there for 5 days, and when I asked the maid to come back after 2:00 p.m. when we would be gone, her boss told her not to do it because we stopped in to take a quick pee...it took less than two minutes, but therefore our room should not get cleaned?
I'm thankful that my boyfriend speaks Spanish, so he could ask the maid about it. She said that boss in particular was just a very mean person.
It is a beautiful property, close to to all the best the North fork has to offer, and the breakfast is wonderful... However, the undisclosed fees and the disrespect by one of the managers will prevent me from ever staying there again.
Oh, and the maid service knocked once and then just came in without an invite or okay on our first day...that really freaked my boyfriend out. What if we were naked in the shower?

The property is beautiful- was nice to relax in the Adirondack chairs near the marina in the evenings. We stayed in the Grand Suite and everything was spotless and comfortable. As others have said, it is a bit easy to hear your neighbors through the walls at night, but nothing earplugs can’t fix if you’re a light sleeper. The staff were incredible, attentive, and looked after us well. The beds were the most comfortable I’ve ever had in an accommodation. Would definitely return.

Family staycation, booked the boardwalk suite. The room was updated and clean. However, rooms have very thin wall and next door was knocking on the wall when we're just talking, we also have a baby. Also, we asked the office if they have any pots and pans for cooking (there was a sign if needed to request from office), they didn't have any, there's also no sponge for washing dishes. Incomplete kitchen stuff. There's a lot of great restaurants around the area however, most are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

I was so pleasantly surprised! The furniture all seemed new, our room was spotless and we had a brand new kitchen and bath! There were chairs and a small patio to sit outside and we were right in a Marina. Very convenient to drive to Greenport and Orient Point. Southold is a very cute town and Greenport was even better. It’s right in the center of the North Fork wine Trail with a dozen beautiful wineries to visit.. perfect location!

The property is beautiful… views are incredible and the accommodations were excellent…shopping, dining, wineries just minutes away in either direction…the only downside are the thin walls. You can hear your neighbors fairly clearly….

The description as rooms with great views was a pure marketing item on their web site- my view was of the highway and the painted steel wall behind the building however if you went out in the balcony you could see the water which was pretty.
The place is newish but needs someone to pay attention to fixing little things - eg- there was a large stain on the carpet -when I pointed this out they moved us next day to a beautiful suite and waived the amenity fee(amenities?) to make nice - was greatly appreciated - in the huge suite , the ceiling light in the master br did not function but wall sconces were adequate to light room- - the front desk staff was Very responsive but if I had to pay season rates I would have looked elsewhere.
