The air conditioning stopped working around 22.00 and the night manager said that due the hot weather it switched off automatically due to the high volume uses... At least that's what we understood, not ideal when it is still mid 30-ish outdoors as it was 40 degrees during the day.

Fantastic stay at this beautiful hotel. Located within easy walking distance of shops, cafes and supermarket, plus a Roman ruin to visit just across the road! Staff were lovely and very accommodating. There is a tram stop about ten mins walk away, but you can easily walk into town as well - very flat city. J’adore!

The hotel is located in a quiet residential neighborhood which makes you feel like a local, close to shops, restaurants, and bakeries since Rue Fondaudege is one street over. The beautiful Jardin Public is a couple blocks aways and walking to downtown and the Chartrons area is so easy. I visited in February and walked everywhere since it felt central to everything I wanted to do (which includes the riverfront). My room was nice and clean, I think it’s newly renovated because all the fixtures looked new, and bed was so comfortable. I travelled solo and the area where the hotel is in felt so safe, and there was always someone at the front desk if I ever needed anything.

What a fantastic boutique hotel experience this was! The staff was immensely, courteous, and capable with great suggestions on how to get around and where to go. This is a very lovely hotel with a courtyard. There is no street parking around the hotel with the closet public parking is 15” walk away. However, the hotel has its own parking facility around the back for €20/night. The room is very roomy ( booked a double) and quiet. I’ll stay at this hotel again.

Good hotel. A 10-15 minute walk into centre of town, a few decent places in the immediate vicinity - one excellent coffee shop, Erui. Staff here excellent, our room, 305 was really spacious, lovely bathroom, spotlessly clean but slight smokers smell was the only slight drawback. Excellent parking

Nice clean room. Hotel in good location - residential area within walking distance to city centre. Be aware there is no bar at the hotel as advertised. Reception staff pours drinks on demand - not a problem if no one checking at the time.

I had a great stay here. The room was beautiful, if a wee bit chilly at times. Anything I asked for, the staff were able to supply - though when the milk ran out, I had to ask for it to be refilled. Lovely to have a bath, and also an accessible room safe that actually worked (so often hotel rooms safes don't). I liked the stroll to town - the streets were pretty empty but I had no issues. Good restaurant recommendations. A shame the car wasn't much in evidence when I returned. When open, I had a feeling I'd be the role patron, so I stayed in town. (I could have been wrong.) the rope bannister up to my room was fine for me, but some might have struggled - there was help from the staff with my suitcase. The staff were friendly and accommodating. In summer, I'm sure sitting in the garden would be lovely.

I did front desk. Staff was so helpful and extra friendly, which I appreciate it since I don’t speak French. I highly recommend paying for the parking which is right next to the building in a protected underground lot. Otherwise parking would probably be very difficult to find. This is a small boutique hotel with a beautiful courtyard. We were greeted by Demetri who was kind and generous with his time. He saw my husband had a knee brace and he suggested we take a room on the first floor instead of the 4th floor that was ready for us (no lifts). He carried our luggage up the 21 steps. He was very knowledgeable and would handle everything for us including tours, taxis, and places to eat. The breakfast was ok as compared to other larger European hotel standards. The wine tour in St Emilion was worth doing but our tour guide talked too fast and he was hard to understand. But it was worth seeing St Emilion, the church and the vineyards. This small boutique hotel was a gem to stay at.

Quite a long walk to the centre of Bordeaux, in a quiet road. Good, friendly welcome and service. The hotel is generally clean but would benefit from a makeover at present there are no public transport links nearby but this should improve on completion of the new tramway line.

Not sure how this place got a four star!! This was a home converted into a Boutiqe hotel with no elevator! Not a very noligable staff! In fact we asked for the best place to visit in the city and the guy sent us to the worse part of town!!! Which looked like it might even be an unsafe area!!! There is no staff at night! They give you code to get in and out of the property which to me that does not go with a 4 star status!!!

We just came from Spain and a 4 star hotel and arrived, knowing that we always book 4 stars or higher, to get to a small room, no restaurant or bar. Could not open our bag and walk to bathroom at the same time. Not worth the location.

Hotel very hard to find as there's no sign. Anne, the lady in charge, was wonderful, helpful, and with good English (though I speak French). No restaurant, no bar, only breakfast.

A great surprise!
We almost cancelled our room here in favor of one closer to the center of town... what a mistake that would have been! The hotel and staff are amazing. It's in a beautiful, quiet and safe neighborhood and a 10 minute walk to the Parliament Square. Everything about our stay (including an exceptional restaurant 1/2 block away) was perfect! Don't be put off by the exterior photos online. Once you step inside the lobby and courtyard, you'll know you made the right choice!

The hotel building is lovely and the location nice and quiet. Just a ten minute walk from downtown Bourdeaux. The hotel had made a mistake with our booking but they immediately upgraded our room for the first two nights and gave us breakfast on the last day. Generally really lovely and very helpful team. We had a great time there.

1. Room is considered to be one of the largest in the hotel, (hence the highest band for price), however, the room itself is rather small, although the entrance may be bigger due to the funny shape of the room, however, there is no any facility to use the area, merely the passing area.
2. Simply no surface to put anything down.
3. No sockets around the table or any surface where one can make a coffee/boil water, or charge phone. Few sockets lower down where only for hoover, I suppose.
4. Room is for two people, however, only one chair, and the luggage rack is so small, no room for two even small suitcases. - simply because the room itself is small (see point 1).
5. Breakfast room is very bad for sound - can't hear people very well, the chairs/tables movement makes terrible noise.

A Hidden Gem in Bordeaux
You would likely walk right by the La Maison and never realize there's a hotel there. However, behind the wall that surrounds the property is a pleasant courtyard and two buildings that house a very nice property.
Our check-in process was handled courteously and professionally despite our late arrival and the room was both spacious and comfortable.
It is located a little ways from some of Bordeaux's more well known attractions so be prepared to walk or take taxis and ride shares. However, that, for us, was a small price to pay vs. the savings on more well-known hotel brands.

We stayed here for 3 nights. It's a lovely hotel, in a great location close the the city centre. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, giving us great suggestions for places to eat. We stayed in a delux suite, which was very spacious, and had adequate facilities. If I had to make one criticism, it would be certain fittings and fixtures were starting to look a bit worn and could do with a bit of TLC. That said please don't let this put put you off staying here, as it's a superb hotel.
The wine tasting tour arranged for us by hotel to Saint Emilion was excellent. We had initially booked for just the morning, but having got there we decided to stay for the full day, which was hassle free as the hotel and transport company sorted it out for us. Staying the full day was definitely worth it, as we had more time in Saint Emilion and the vineyard in the afternoon was amazing.

Stayed in 2 bouts, aways a few days between. Cool and quirky boutique hotel, great rooms and nice courtyard. Room 9 was my second (and longer) stay and was fab, with balcony out over the street. Emmanuelle is a wonderful host, helpful and welcoming, with good local advice. I'll stay there next time too.

We had a very large room with a terrace on the third floor, however there was no elevator in our section of the hotel, so managing the luggage up multiple steep stairs was a challenge. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating. They were helpful and very friendly. The breakfast was very good. Everything was fresh and of the highest quality.

We turned up 4 hrs early and were just hoping to park, staff were very helpful and arranged temporary parking, provided maps and lunch suggestions. On our return the room was ready early and very comfortable. Some of the silicon in the bathroom could do with replacing but otherwise the standard was very good and the bed comfortable. We were in one of the rooms facing the courtyard and had no issues with noise during the night. Breakfast was plentiful.

Hotel is well located, about 10min walk to city center. Lady at reception was very attentive and pleasant and allowed to check out late given a late evening flight that day. I would certainly recommend this hotel if visiting Bordeaux

Delightful stay. The room was spacious clean & comfortable in a quiet area. The service was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble. The door way is not easy to find but our taxi dropped us outside. The hotel is next to Palais Gallien & a 10 minute walk from the Grand Opera. The Jardin Public is close by. Would highly recommend staying here.

We only stayed 1 night - the hotel is on a quiet street about a 15 minute walk from the main pedestrian section of the city. The hotel was clean with good air conditioning in the room. We had an outside terrace on a top floor but the view wasn't anything special. Friendly staff - assisted with taxis and directions.

A interesting experience in Bordaeux
This hotel is small and some what quirky. It is very hard to find as there is little signage. The common areas were old and needed refreshing, but it was clean. The staff were helpful but the general neighbourhood was poor and you had to wlk 15 minutes to any of the sights and plazas. The cost of taxis in Bordeaux is exhortation and to get back to the hotel at night was a real problem. While we like the stay for 2 days next time we will pay the extra and stay on the walking streets

I was in Bordeaux to see a doctor, so was very ill. From the moment we arrived the staff were impeccable. Helpful, kind, nothing was to much trouble. I could not fully appreciate the hotel to it's maximum.. I would love to come back. Best service I have had for such a difficult time.. I thank you very much. Look forward to seeing you all again in better circumstances.

Charming hotel on a quite street. The main drawback is 15 min walk to old Bordeaux . there is nothing in the area. The parking is 15 euro/ night a you need to have a small car. Breakfast is just OK for 15 euro but the garden is good place to relax. There is no elevator .

The staff was very helpful and friendly at this quaint boutique hotel. The neighborhood was a bit off the beaten track, but was only a 10 minute walk to the town center. Although the room was comfortable, our air conditioning didn't work and we found the noise from the street quite loud as we kept our window open due to the lack of AC. Apart from that, a pleasant stay!

Hotel was situated further from the "golden triangle" than I thought it was, but definately within walking distance. The rooms were fine but I have never in all my travels seen a reception area as bad as this one, it was like walking into someone's back office. If the price had been 100 euro less I would have thought "well, you get what you pay for" and been satisfied, but for the price I was very disappointed. For the price I paid I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I wish some one told us or tried to make a offer us a break since there was no hot water. I would also let people know it is a little noisy not just leave ear plugs next to the bed. Quaint and rustic hotel with too many stairs.
The hotel was good in many ways, but a multi floor hotel without an elevator is hard to speak of in terms of comfort. This fact is offset by the pleasant staff and effort. One of the female staff carried our bags to our room. Roomwas clean and cortable and a nice buffet breakfast is served. The location and very small garage facility is difficult for traveling people with a rental car.

We loved La Maison Bord'eaux such very friendly staff made it a good place to stay, they helped guests with taxi ordering, wine tasting trips, restaurant recommendations, bike hire. A lovely interior modern comfort in a beautiful old building. Spacious rooms, breakfast lots of choice, parking tight but good in central location. Would recommend and go again. Loved the roof terrace and rooftop view from our room.

Great location, great service, very helpfulfront desk staff and just a completely relaxing environment. Parking is secure and off street although it will certainly test you with the tight angles! The room had a portable air con unit which was a bit noisy but it did the job and there were even ear plugs provided. The walk downtown is an easy stroll right down to the theatre , would definitely stay again

Elegant tranquility 5 mins walk from city centre
I stayed here with my girlfriend on for a couple of days, and I chose this romantic hotel as I had planned to propose to her. The hotel didn't disappoint. This boutique hotel had lots of lovely features and great customer service. It's adjacent to wonderful public gardens and very close to the city centre. I'd stay here again and again and again. p.s. She said yes!

We really enjoyed the location of the hotel. It is close to the center of Bordeaux but far enough away that it is a very quiet hotel.The room was spacious. Staff members were helpful. The breakfast was good too (although not included in the price of the room). Only caution is that you need to be aware that the reception desk is not open 24 hours a day. Entry to the hotel is always locked (a nice security measure - although we did not feel unsafe in the neighborhood) so you need to use the intercom upon initial arrival.

Arrived directly at the hotel after a short flight to Bordeaux from the UK. The first two nights of our trip around Southern France. We could not wait to leave!
The owner met us at a secure gate which surrounds the hotel and proceeded to remove our car to 'his special parking space' which then cost us 15 Euro's per day! A strange property which did not seem to be very warm or accommodating....we were taken to the stables of the main house into a bright orange room that did not meet our expectations. The rooms shower / bathroom and toilet were actually built into cupboards in the room (no, I'm not kidding) This meant that their was no privacy at all to either of you using the facilities! The owner of the property seemed very keen to recommend other bushinesses outside of the hotel for food and drinks etc. and had an air of ushering you out of his way at the earliest opportunity. It was like visiting long lost relatives. We chose to have breakfast on the two days we were there. Our waiter who reminds me of Manuel from Fawlty Towers. Took exception to us choosing our own table for breakfast and it was downhill from there. Two pieces of baguette, two croissants, orange juice and coffee only 30 Euro's per day!
Suffice to say, we left before checkout dictated and would never go back. Such as poor way to start our break and i don't even think they were bothered how we felt.....totally bizarre and would recommend that you steer clear.
