My first time visiting and I was impressed from the moment I walked in. I very much enjoyed my stay, highly recommended. The room was amazing the view was to spectacular the staff was friendly. A nice change from the busy crowds at the other hotels. You are walking distance to restaurants and attractions. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice quiet relaxing stay. Will most definitely return.

I have to say, I would have given 5* except (unfortunately this time breakfast was a little \"hit n miss\") and service rather slow. Evening meals really good, loved the crab cakes. The oasis tucked away from the crowd! My room had a balcony that provided the right amount of shade without taking away from the views. Room was spacious and housekeeping kept all my needs handled. The views were amazing and the Almond Tree Restaurant and Bar were phenomenal! The dishes were perfectly prepared while the drinks were crafted to perfection each time! Ms. Jenelle was the nicest to check me in and answer my questions at the reception desk and Danvil created the best cocktails on the island!

The Expedia confirmation of my reservation stated that a deposit had been charged to my card. This turned out to be incorrect, they had just placed a hold on my card. This led to an issue on check-in when I was asked to pay the full price of the stay when I was expecting only to pay the balance.

This misleading information from Expedia created an unpleasant first impression at the hotel.

The hotel has old facilities, which are reasonably well maintained. The beds were comfortable and the amenities in the room, water a refrigerator, and a kettle with very much appreciated. Staff were helpful and friendly.

If I could give this “whatever this is” a negative-star rating I’d obliged.

1. Terrible Customer Service. Front desk clerk lacks professionalism and courtesy, they forget people are paying for a service and experience not your baggage from home.

2. You pay a hefty some for a wedding at the venue and they can’t accommodate a late check out, I had to get an Airbnb nearby for my wife to get ready for our wedding.

3. We decided to get their Breakfast, they up-charge fried dumpling when you want a get it in place of toast with a omelette absolutely ridiculous.

4. Cleaners come knocking on your door if you go a min over your checkout time. Absolutely mind-boggling.

5. Place is old and run down. Don’t waste your money, you can get some views with better quality and customer service don’t waste you or your family’s time.

My overall stay was very good. The breakfast was delicious, staffs were very attentive and courteous. However there was just too many mosquitoes in the rooms, no wash cloths were provided and the towels could use a softener of some kind because it was very rough on skin.

It worked for the purpose of quick overnight. Although the club music right behind us kept me up all night. Tiny mosquitoes or something I couldnt even see kept biting so had to wear long sleeves and long pants thru night. Jacuzzi by pool had to be turned on by front desk and never got hot although sign says supposed to be 104 degrees, 70 at best. Hard beds. A few little tiny knat type bug seen on floor. No Hot water until next day about 9am. Toilet ran all night. Staff was nice. Beautiful view from pool area. Nice complimentary breakfast menu.

Stayed at Hibiscus Lodge Jan 31–Feb 2 for a family event (7 rooms total). Most staff were kind and respectful, but one front-desk employee (no name tag) completely ruined our experience.
At checkout we were told to “go sit down and wait” while rooms were searched for missing items. Her tone was rude and condescending. This checkout process took 45 minutes out of our day. We were told a towel was missing and we’d be charged $3,500 JMD. I asked three times how much it would cost because I just wanted to pay and leave. Each time she dismissively said “I’m on the phone” while on her personal cell phone.
I asked her if they searched the room and was told yes, everywhere, and the towel could not be found. I went to the room myself with my niece again I asked the housekeeper if she searched the whole room she said yes, my niece went into the bathroom and found the towel hanging on the towel rack. The housekeeper then apologized and said it was a mistake.
This felt like an attempted scam.
Back at the front desk, the same woman refused to give me the refund receipt even though I paid for the rooms, saying she got the key from my nephew so she would only give it to him. I had to take the receipt myself.
Despite this woman’s and housekeepers deplorable conduct, the view was beautiful, but being falsely accused of missing items. I strongly believe guests are being targeted during checkout in a scam.
Would not recommend based on front-desk conduct and checkout practices.

This is a lovely little hotel, which is in the middle of Ocho Rios so it is easy to get around to everything. The staff is accommodating when notified of problems, such as no water pressure or temperature control in the shower. As every place on the island, it has been affected by the hurricane and they are doing the most to accommodate you while accommodating for weather as well. The restaurant had OK food. Very similar to any other hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, the two days we were there was in the middle of a cold front in Jamaica (yes, there are cold fronts in Jamaica and evidently it is usually in February who knew.!) so we didn’t enjoy facilities like the pool or the ocean or the snorkeling as the seas were very rough the rain was consistent and it was 61°F. The area around the hotel is easy to walk through, but really unless you are grabbing something to eat there is no reason to. It is a busy island working environment and quite dirty. If your intention is to stay in a place that is safe and cozy with great views this is definitely your place though a resort it is not.

Also had a chance to meet the owner who was on site and he was a joy to talk to. I recommend this hotel if you are looking for an alternative to the big watered down gaudy all inclusives.

Staff was friendly and helpful . The property needs some maintenance. I one room the shower mixer was faulty, making it difficult to get a steady stream of warm water. It was either too hot or too cold. The offferings at breakfast was the same each of the 5 days spent there. The fruit was a minimal sliver of water melon, half a slice of pinapple and a peg of grapefruit. The main dishes were always teh same. At dinner the service was painfully slow , and worse if there was even a 1/2 capacity.

Loved this stay. We scheduled last minute and very much appreciated the clean room and the view from our window. We had the privilege of meeting the owner and and I believe the manager of the restaurant and we appreciated their welcoming spirit. The next time we stay we will explore the snorkeling right at the foot of the property. Initially the staff was not as friendly but we attributed it to the fact that they just recently opened after Melissa. We are already planning a return trip

Hibiscus Lodge Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Ocho Rios town on Main Street
The hotel gives a Mediterranean vibes as it is nestled on the edge of a cliff and very nice stone structure for the walls
The hotel grounds are quite clean with nicely manicured lawns and hedging.
Breakfast is very basic but edible. It’s very limited in options as they have you choose only one meat source: eggs, liver, escovitched fish, and callaloo. Sides were fried dumplings or bammy
There’s a whirlpool and pool on the property and no sandy beach but a swimable beach area at the bottom of the cliff

Ac leaked water all over the first room and my boyfriend clothing was caught up in the leak. However, the hotel workers were amazing in accommodating us by washing and drying his clothes. They upgraded us to a Jr suit but it was a water issue in the bathroom but we managed. The breakfast is the same daily so not a lot of options. I appreciate the kindness of the staff. They were very excellent.

This property is my favorite hotel in the Ocho Rios area. It is laid back offering a chill vibe. Clean rooms, great breakfast included, nice staff and awesome views with the upper level rooms. On Sundays you can hear singing from a church that is close by...just sets a wonderful tone with this beautiful island.

Our stay happened to fall during Hurricane Melissa. Prior to the storm, the room was clean, and the towels and sheets were freshly changed. We understood that during a crisis things wouldn’t operate as usual, but by the following day a skeleton staff had returned to duty. It’s a small, family-run establishment that felt homely, and the staff were friendly and approachable throughout our stay.

My stay was okay overall, but I did have one major issue. I booked a room meant for three people, but the bathroom only had two bath towels and two hand towels — no washcloths at all. When I went to the front desk to ask for one, I was told that the type of room I booked doesn’t include washcloths. That honestly makes no sense to me. The room has a shower, so how is it that washcloths aren’t provided? What kind of room do I need to book just to get a basic item like that? Never again

I found this hotel to be very beautiful. The location is gorgeous, overlooking the azure and glistening waters of the Caribbean sea. Housekeeping was on point and the staff at check-in were very helpful in getting us situated and answering our questions. I appreciated the free breakfast each morning, although the portion sizes were quite small. The only other thing that could've made my stay better would have been access to the beach, but the property does boast a pool and hottub.

We stayed here night 1 of our trip before going to an AI resort down the road. I loved this little place! The views are amazing and their access to the ocean is adorable. If you're looking for a place that is conveniently located to the local shops and Mahogany Beach well this is it. Our room was located on the 2nd floor and the view of the ocean from the balcony was so beautiful. We brought our own washcloths and housekeeping washed them for us every morning and returned them back to our room. The breakfast was complimentary and so delicious. I wanted Jamaican homestyle dishes and the chef did not disappoint. Also, the pastries and bread are made on the property, we purchased a loaf to take back home with us. The staff was very courteous, helpful, and pleasant. If you don't mind some loud music from the locals at night or if you're here on Sunday you can here the church service and gospel music from the church across the street. Even those things made my experience that much more real. The garden was nice and perfect place to take pictures. The parrot did not want take photos lol. The tunnel entrance to their manmade beach was so cool especially if you go at night, but that \"beach\" was for people who just want to sunbathe. If you want the full beach experience walk down the street and spend the 500JAMD, (a little over $3USD) to enjoy the beach. The pool and hot tub was a nice addition and made for a cool way to relax after a hot day. Beach towels are available at the front office.
