The place has great potential. However:
a. there are no deck chairs at the beautiful swimming pools!
b. Paid for the upgraded room but it still feels jaded. The beds are so light that they can move easily.
c. doesn't feel like a resort!

This property has so much potential with 3 golf courses and proximity to the local airport and Singapore. It was cheap, golf was good. We would go if it was double or even triple the price but someone needs to make in investment in this property.

Perfect getaway from the city and work. Personally, I don't mind the older decor and layout of the hotel; there is a certain charm to it all, like you're visiting a familiar place from childhood. Breakfast is good, though the spread can be somewhat limited.

The front desk staff was very helpful and professional in assisting me for my check-in to the resort for a 2 night stay. Despite the official check-in time was 3 pm, I arrived early at 1.30 pm and they do the necessary arrangement for me to check-in at 2 pm instead - really appreciate their kind help and assistance in this matter. Overall experience is bad. Towels are old and dirty, when askef for additional towels, the staff said there will be 20MYR charge per towel. Bedsheet has stains. Bathroom run out of toilet paper and kleenex. Bathtub is old and has stains. Hotel stuffs still working moving room furnitures, mattresses at around 9PM, wheeling ot on the hallway making loud noises. Phone in the room doesn't work well, having difficulty tryingto call the front desk.

Le Grandeur is a far cry from its 5-Star predecessor Hotel Sofitel. The rooms and the building look tired and not well-maintained. To be fair to them, the COVID pandemic has probably halted a lot of recent maintenance work. But the building looks like it has not been maintained for several years already.

Not spotless clean - have stains on bedsheets, a little dusty but it's ok just wear the slippers, TV screen is not watchable, have mosquitoes but can ask for mosquito repellent, it's a quiet environment but aircond & refrigerator buzzing sound is a little loud.

Do you want to freeze every night?

I have been a regular visitor to Le Grandeur for the last 5 years, often visiting this hotel 2 or 3 times each year. While the rooms are nice and spacious, I have found the room thermostat does not work and it is freezing cold at night. I brought this up to the staff and they promised they would look into it. So in my last visit I asked them for a room in which the thermostat will work so that I can adjust the room temperature. They promised to give me one but I soon found that only the thermostat fan work but I could not change the room temperature. I felt very cheated and disappointed. So anyone wanting to stay in that hotel must be prepared to freeze during the night! I hope the hotel staff will read this review and improve their service. Otherwise, I wonder why I must pay them to freeze me every night!!

The bed sank in when we slept. The time we sleep was too late for us to make a complaint to change room. However, the facilities provided was to much pleasing. Hopefully, if I return for another stay, I won't be given such a bed again. We stayed at Room no. 305.

Property is extremely run down, definitely not 4 star. Reception and wait staff understanding of English very poor. General maintenance non existent. Breakfast left a lot to be desired, even by normal standards let alone European acceptability. Room service however was exceptional. Resort needs major renovation to bring it back to its potential. Golf courses and club house amazing.

Most of the facilities in the room are not working. Iron keep leaking water, water tap in the toilet is broken, drainage of shower is blocked, many ants are found in the desk near tea/coffee set. I have to switch on the lights one by one. The floor near bed side tables are full of dust.

Didn't encounter anything bad as said in some reviews. It was a pleasant 4 nights stay and highly recommended for its top hospitality. Strategic location too, nearer to airport, IOI Mall, Aeon, etc. Hotel foods are pricey as it does in other hotels. Clean bathroom, dust-free room, usb-friendly TV, good nature view from balcony (btw if you find your balcony not swept, feel free to request housekeeping to clean it. They do it happily. You can pull out chairs and table to the balcony to dine&wine. No light? Pull closer the stand lamp - everything is possible).

Hotel room was nice, breakfast had a good spread, and overall hotel environment is well maintained. Wifi is available throughout the hotel. Perhaps the extra bed can be placed immediately upon check in, rather than let your guest make three requests and reminders for it to be done.

Hotel was decent enough although it was an old place but it was a terrible experience because money was stolen from my wallet and suitcase while I was in the swimming pool. I only stayed there 2 nights so the cleaning was done once. The hotel manager told me only cleaning staff went into the room. No one else. Whoever stole my cash only took large bills from my wallet and from the bank envelop that I put in my suitcase so I won't realize money is missing right away. $400 US dollar is stolen. I reported to the hotel manager but I don't believe they will do anything. Please DO NOT stay here or make sure you put your valuables safe. I will never stay here again.

Hotels.com mentioned \"shuttle bus\", but they said no shuttle when I called at airport. They only have a \"paid\" shuttle from hotel to airport.
The front staff would charge Tourism Tax to me 3 times. Then, I showed my ID to them 3 times.

3 room changes but still..

Took 3 room changes but stil the air-conditioning thermostat did not work. It was freezing for 2 nights. No hot water in the second room and manager on duty (Eswary) showed no empathy.
Breakfast was very basic so if you can, just go to nearby mall and have a better breakfast for the same price.

The Best Location In Johor

I have and will continue to stay at this facility as they are always willing to take time to make sure that things are right for their guest. I really enjoy that they remember us by name and greet us as if they want us to be there. My wife was very happy and that makes me happy too!

We stayed here overnight before our early morning flight. The hotel was comfortable, room was spacious and quiet and we slept well. The only minus was for lack of dining options. Only the grill was open for dinner. The food was great but expensive, we payed about 80 RM per person.

The hotel is a bit old but overall the experience is okay considering the amount that we have paid. Swimming pool is a bit dirty on our first visit. 2nd visit was great as they have just cleaned the pool.
Parking is safe as they have their own parking space hence Singaporeans do not have to worry about their car being stolen.

Best In Southern Malaysia

The staff at reception are the first ones to make an impression on we frequent travelers and this hotel is tops. While there will always be that one person who is negative for the most part Le Grandeur has a top reception team. My check in is always fast , with a smile and \"Welcome Back , Captain\". A little respect goes a long way and most all at Le Grandeur are spot on. I have seen very few problems in this regard. I go far our of my way to compensate good service and kindness when traveling. There is one member of the team who works in the lounge who seems to not like his job, He has made mention of that and gave a bad image of his hotel by his actions time and again. Is is always good to remember that after you have made someone angry you are the last person that should be telling them to calm down and not be upset! I don't wish to tarnish the reputation of such a fine hotel all because one man who manages the lounge is unhappy with his job. The house keeping staff very capable , kind and prompt. My room was always spotless and smelled nice upon my return from my daily flying duties. For a person on the go as we are all over the world, I can say that Le Grandeur is tops in almost every way! The shuttle transportation is affordable and prompt in every way. Pool area is always safe and clean and welcoming for a swim. So many great things about Le Grandeur but so little time to say them!
