The hotel was in a great location. At the entrance to the old city of Assisi. Parking across the street (ask for voucher for 10% discount). Short walk to St. Francis Basilica. Great breakfast included. Cute outdoor seating. The hotel is a little dated, but would recommend if you’re looking for something with good value.

The hotel is in a perfect location. if you take the bus from the train station, it drops you off very close to the hotel entrance. The staff at the hotel were incredible! I loved the little patio connected to the hotel for snacks or a glass of wine. If and when I come back to Assisi, I will definitely stay here again.

What a charming place to stay! Just a short walk to the Basilica right by the entrance to the walled city: extraordinarily convenient and absolutely charming. The breakfast was excellent and the owners delightful. Their restaurant Le Terrazze di Properzio was equally superior and the meal was one of our best in Italy!!

The hotel was ideally located near St. Francis basilica and a short walk to the city centre. Parking was free from 6pm to 10:30 am just across the street. The service desk attended was always pleasant and eager to please. The only concern we had was that the mattress was uncomfortable. However, we would not hesitate to recommend Berti Hotel to anyone wishing to travel to Assisi.

Hotel Berti was as promised. A small, friendly and inviting hotel. The room were clean and fresh. Air conditioning was amazing to escape the heat of summer! The view from the rooms was lovely. Easy location, Next to bus stop, clean, friendly
My husband and I stayed here in Oct 2016 and we loved it! It is right next to the bus stop which makes it very easy to get to with your luggage. The owner was very friendly and accommodating and helped us to get a taxi. He even held our bags for us while we were off sightseeing after we checked out. The room was very clean! The bed was very comfortable. It was a beautiful and charming hotel. We were served a delicious breakfast of pastries, yogurt, toast, fruit, and cappuccino. It was at the bottom of the hill, so we took a taxi to the top and then worked our way down to it. Very convenient! We absolutely loved everything about it! We would highly recommend and definitely plan to stay again!

Great location for seeing the Basilica. We enjoyed the charm of the hotel. We were out most of the time but when we were in the hotel it was comfortable.

Whether you arrive by car or bus from the station, the hotel is just inside the gates and so easy to wheel your bags into it. There is a lift as well. When you want to visit San Francesco it is just a little way up the hill. The owners were helpful at all times and the breakfast was good. In the mornings, since we had the windows open, you awake to the sound of the bells peeling, which is very atmospheric in this town of Churches.

Hotel Berti was a nice, clean hotel for what I needed. Service was efficient (don't expect a huge amount of English) and I appreciated the effort put into breakfast for the guests. Location is convenient, very close to the bus stop (I travelled by train and got into town via bus) howeve, be prepared to climb the maximum amount of hills every day as it is situated at the bottom end of town. The room was clean and tidy, minimal like most Italian hotels, though noisy at times as my room opened up onto a main street.

It is an attractive medium size hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel staff was very helpful by providing me with a map of Assisi and directed me to a travel agency which was very helpful regarding my train transportation when departing Assisi. Hotel Berti is very near Porto San Pietro in Assisi which made it convenient for us arriving by city bus from the train station. Our room was small and basic but had some charm. The mattress is firm but comfy. The pillows were quite hard. The shower, though small, had a good shower head and good water pressure. There is no internet in your room, but they tell you that up front. You can get internet on the ground floor in the breakfast area or outside in their courtyard that has cute red tablecloth covered tables. The proprietor attends a beverage bar where you can get beer, wine, cappuccinos all day long. Their breakfast is tasty but contains no hot items. I would stay here again if ever in Assisi.

What a charming hotel! Our room was clean and comfortable. We were allowed to check in early when our train arrived well before check-in time. Each morning Mr.Berti made us each an espresso to order then would offer another when we had finished. We enjoyed eating our breakfast on beautiful patio. The food selection was fine. It was typical of the places we stayed. We hope we can stay here again some day.

Very friendly and welcoming people. We had questions about holy sites, Mass times, transportation, etc and each time they happily gave us helpful information. Beautiful room with lovely furnitures and nice touches. You definitely can tell you're in Assisi, not in some regular Howard Johnson. The hotel attendant invited us for breakfast but we were on Eucharistic fast leaving for 7am Mass. He smiled and gave me a bottle of water to go. That was very caring of him, treated us like family. We enjoyed a sumptuous dinner at Da Cecco, a cozy restaurant down the street and realized it was their family owned business as well. We got to eat fabulous food and experience awesome service from their family. The hotel let us keep the bags there after check out so we can do more sightseeing until afternoon. Will stay here again next time. St. Francis will be proud to call these hotel owners his townspeople.

The parking garage is just across the street, but there is no discount. at the time I was there it was 12 Euros per 24 hours. Still good deal and a safe place to park your car though.The staff was amazing!!! Friendly and courteous. Super breakfast too!!! I will definitely be back!!!

The host barely speaks English, but we were able to communicate by my minimal Italian & his minimal English. The location is so convenient - just around the corner from the bus terminal, and it's just a 2-minute walk to the Basilica of San Francesco.

Wonderful hotel in Assisi
I had an amazing stay in Assisi. Hotel Berti is immediately inside the arch from the bus station. Couldn't be more convenient! It's in a very old building so the only issue I had was some of the noise outside, and thin walls. That said, I would still stay there again. The hotel hosts were phenomenal. Always big smiles, always wanting you to sit down and be comfortable and then they would serve you and anticipated what you wanted and would then just do it. They noticed I'd put the extra blanket under my pillow, and by the next day i found an extra real pillow there. They put on a fantastic breakfast spread as part of your stay, and I was very impressed with the selection and their detail in presentation. They have a great little patio outside that stays open til 10 pm, and it was great to sit there at the end of the day with a glass of wine from the bar and relax.

Pretty spot, old fashioned hotel in lower town
Woman who met us was very nice and went out of her way to be nice. The evening and morning guy wasn't nearly as good. The hotel is close to the city parking in the lower part of the town. This means that the church of St. Francis is uphill. It is on a nice corner, cozy and cute with a patio. Our room looked out over the patio and was a decent size and plain but comfortable. The shower, however, was tiny and sprayed wAter all over unless you are very careful and the towels are the old fashioned thin cotton-- without nap.

Lovely town with stone buildings narrow alleys and steps and roadways. A quaint but beautiful town that is so relaxing when us tourists leave. Spend at least one night here.

Just go up the hill
The place has small rooms, and it is a climb to get to the main center. The rooms are gloomy and super small bathrooms. Our room was next to the street so we could hear traffic in the early morning. Second night moved up the hill and had a great time. There are much MUCH better options up the hill in the main center. Hotels that are more comfortable, quieter, cheaper, and have better breakfasts. I have a feeling those who stayed here and left good reviews never checked out the hotels near the top. The main factor is comfort and Berti lacks that because of the layout of the hotel. I was able to get a much cheaper room with a large room AND being right next to the great restaurants and piazzas a ten minute climb up the hill.

It's a perfect, cozy little hotel that neatly balances service and privacy. The hotel is just steps away from where the bus will get you from the train station. The staff is excellent. It's small, but this is Assisi. Free Wi-Fi (which wasn't strong, but strong enough -- we just wanted to check some opening times and send some emails, not stream HD movies) and a very nice free breakfast (yogurt, breads, cereal, fruit, etc.)

Small hotel close to church of St. Francis
We arrived late afternoon after driving from the Amalfi Coast. The family-run hotel is located within the walls of the old town and a short walk from the Basilica of St. Francis. We had a little trouble locating the hotel as it is small and tucked in behind an al frecso eating area with the sign hidden behind a large tree. After unloading the car, we were able to park in the street nearby overnight free of charge until 10.30am the next day.
The hotel has a small lift and our room looked out onto the Piazza San Pietro (Assisi has many churches - we had no need for an early morning call as the church bells did that job!). Continental breakfast was served in the outdoor eating area, very pleasant on the lovely fine morning we were there. (Indoor room available for colder weather)

Great location
My stay was fine. This is an older hotel with smallish rooms. That said my room was very clean and the bathroom was on the larger side, a bonus in Europe. The hotel is close to all the major attractions, is close to parking and to many restaurants. The air conditioning worked well and the hotel staff was very friendly. The breakfast, which is included was also good. I would stay at Hotel Berti again if I return to Assis.

This was very conveniently located (just inside the San Pietro gate) and very nice. The room and bathroom were good-sized. It overlooked the front courtyard and I worried at first that the noise outside would keep me up, but everything was quiet once it got dark. OUR EXPERIENCE STARTED OFF BY BEING GREETED AND WELCOMED BY THE OWNER LANFRANCO IN THE COURTYARD OF THE HOTEL. THE LOCATION IS CLOSE TO BUSLINE AND TAXI. EASY TO ACCESS THE ATTRACTIONS IN ASSISI. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT LANFRANCO, HE WAS ATTENTIVE, HELPFUL WITH DIRECTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR DINNER. MAKES THE BEST CAPPICINO TOO. THE HOTEL WAS IN FANTASTIC SHAPE, CLEAN AND WITH AN ELEVATOR THAT ACTUALLY WORKED!!

Small Hotel very comfortable and well situated
Highly atmospheric setting close to the towns medieval walls with a room and a view over the bus station into the Umbrian valley beyond. We didn't even get disturbed by the constant flow of coaches and buses. The hotels restaurant just a few doors up the street had a limited menu but exceptional quality. The town centre was a pleasant five minute climb and the surrounding places of interest were all within easy walking distance. St Francis Bassilica was only a couple of minutes away. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful but the bar did close at 10pm which we did consider was a little early.

We really enjoyed our two-night stay at Hotel Berti : great location just inside Porta San Pietro where the bus stops and a few minutes walk to the basilica and other churches in Assisi, very attentive staff, good breakfast, great cuisine and service at their family-owned restaurant Da Cecco, just 50 meters from the hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. We definitely recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Berti. It was in a great location - near the church of St. Francis. If you venture further away from the hotel, you find better prices at restaurants. This is what we did and found nice places to eat - more reasonably priced. The hotel was clean, the room was nice and the staff was helpful. The continental breakfast was good - the espresso excellent. You need to pay $10 Euros for parking for 24 hours in a nearby parking lot. This hotel is just inside the old city and we would definitely stay there again - except we would stay longer.

Hotel Berti has been the best experience of all our hotels in Italy. The location is very convenient for people using public transport - right inside Porta San Pietro, where the bus stops. The staff are incredibly nice! Our room was a good size and the bathroom also good. The shower was smallish, but still adequate and we are not thin people!

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very close to the parking lot of Assissi. There was a nice buffet breakfast every morning with an outdoor eating area. The elevator was very small, but most of them seem to be in Europe. There were lots of shops and eating places nearby..

Good location near a major parking structure and a 10 minute walk to the Basilica. Rooms are small but unless you're planning to spend a lot of time in-doors, they're perfectly utilitarian. The elevator is a little tight, but the small patio and breakfast make up for any minor flaws. If you're only in Assisi for a night or two - like we were - then this is a reasonable, affordable home base.

We spent two nights in Assisi. The hotel is managed by a very agreeable man, who is happy to help with any questions. The hotel is a very short walk from the Duomo.

NO Elevator
The service was great, and the man at the front desk was extremely helpful. However, we are literally right across from the train station which was a plus for convenience but very loud with drunks and pot smokers hanging out under our window all day and night. I also had my elderly parents with me and their is NO elevator at this hotel making it very difficult for them and our luggage.

Very close to the basilica
The hotel is very close to the basilica and across the street from the parking lot which all the tour buses use. Our room was on that side of the hotel, so there was noise from the parking lot from the tour buses loading, although most tourists were gone by 11 pm or so. Breakfast was pretty average - some breads, a little fruit, and some yogurt. It was just fine for a one night stay.

This small hotel deserves a higher rating. We loved the location, the friendliness of the staff, and how clean everything was. Everything we needed was provided. We checked out early and stayed in town through lunch. As we walked by the hotel a couple of hours later a staff member came running out to give us the charge cord for our iPad that we had left behind! That kind of attentiveness is seldom found.

Fantastic location, charming hotel, friendly staff
The Hotel Berti is located right inside the wall, as close to the long term parking lot at the bottom and the bus stop for the small buses that takes you to the center or to the top as you can get. You can check in and drop off your luggage before you begin touring this fascinating town. One of the best restaurants is also right across the road. But it was very quiet especially at night. The only thing we found a bit unsatisfactory was that the bath towels were like white linen tablecloths. They were even ironed.The rooms are not large, but not cramped. It has an elevator and the rate was also very reasonable. I believe it is family run and several of them speak English and are friendly and helpful. The hotel was recommended to us by a seasoned traveler who suggested we park at the bottom and check in, and then take the bus to the top and work our way down as we are older and climbing the steep roads would be hard for us. but we didn't want to miss anything. It was a good suggestion.

We spent to nights here a cpl of days before new years eve. I have to say this hotel was very nice. Standard breakfast, nice and helpful staff. Nice setting and clean and ample sized rooms. Perhaps it was alittle on the cold side, but that's how most italian homes are in the winter so why should a hotel be different.

Great place just inside the wall. From the train station take the bus up to lot a (stop before San Francesco gate). Can't miss stop as it is a fairly large bus stop/ lot. Hotel is very nice with comfortable rooms. Really close to everything.
