Quaint hotel, Great Hospitality

The hotel was built in the 1960’s and appears to be mostly original, very mid-century. Everything was very clean. The hostess is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and included eggs, pancakes and bacon made to order. The location was great for us as it was walking distance to everything, including the train station. Like most places, English is spoken.

The staff were so friendly and if we ever go back we will be staying here again. We had to ask if it was possible to check out an hour later due to a transportation issue and the gentleman at the front desk was so friendly and let us check out at a later time. Best place we stayed while in Germany

Lovely \"German village\" setting. Older hotel - 5 stories, no elevator and we were on the 5th floor. AC wasn't working in middle of the summer. Had to change hotels. The staff were very understanding.

My husband and I stayed at the Goldinger for 4 nights while visiting Landsthul , Heidelberg and Ramstein. The staff was extremely accomodating , especially helping us to get a taxi to the base for departure, The inn is so cozy! We will be back!

This hotel is easy to find and centrally located. It has a small parking area behind the hotel & street parking. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot breakfast that had a delicious variety of both savory & sweet choices. There is an excellent bakery that is part of the establishment for afternoon breaks. The rooms are on two floors & there's not an elevator so request a ground floor room when you book if you have trouble with stairs.

For an older hotel, it has what is necessary to get the job done and then some. The morning breakfast is awesome, complete with smoked salmon. They offer made to order eggs and pancakes. Another hotel I stay at did not have either of these. It does lack an evening restaurant and bar, but Anchos is a two minute walk away. The shower was incredible.

Great breakfast and extremely friendly/helpful staff. Very nice restaurant and courtyard. Hotel is connected to a bakery/cafe. Rooms are a little older, but well maintained and very clean. The free wifi was acceptable, but a little slow at times. Overall, great place with for a short stay with excellent staff.

The location is good, 5 min from train station. Great hospitality and friendly. Breakfast was good. Rooms were clean. There is no air conditioning so it made for very hot nights to sleep on the top floor. We had one fan in the room. We checked in on a sunday and was lucky to get there by 5pm as they close and quit checking in at 6pm on Sunday's. Above all this is a family run hotel with restaurant and store and they treat you like family. The lower levels were much cooler. I would stay here again and ask to be on the first floor.

I enjoy staying in local non-chain hotels. This was great! I love the charm of an older hotel and had a wonderful stay. It is older and there are some things that could be repaired, but nothing that had an adverse effect on my stay.

The Goldinger is convenient to transportation, dining, and entertainment. The atrium dining room is terrific for the included breakfast, the daily lunch specials, or a late afternoon coffee and pastry. I've stayed at this property several times on business and always enjoyed the convenience of the location, and the awesome hospitality of the staff.

Highly recommend!!

What a great place to stay right in the center of town! The owners and staff were amazing. They have a very good breakfast buffet layout and also custom order items (eggs, bacon, etc...). There is also a bakery that is part of the hotel with freshly made items daily, as well as an amazing array of chocolates. WiFi was very good. We spent 14 days there and all of them were superb.

Wonderful place to stay. The rooms are very clean. The restaurant was great. I had some amazing soups and sandwiches. The breakfast is nice with fresh baked rolls and eggs made to order. Great coffee. The desserts and chocolates from their own shop are outstanding. The staff was the best!! All were friendly and helpful. Also there are many things to do including a walk through the forest to a castle and beautiful view of the countrydide.

Friendly Family-run Germany Hotel

I was going to Landstuhl for business for 17 days, and had to book only 2 weeks out. I knew a lot of folks would be in town for a major event, so I was afraid I would not get a good place for a reasonable price. Expedia showed Goldinger for a low rate, including breakfast, and it was very close to my event location. Other places were generally farther away, no breakfast, and more expensive, so I decided to give them a try. I note Expedia had Goldinger only rate as 3-star, so I was however a little wary...I figured if it wasn't any good I could move to another place once I checked it out.

As it turned out, the staff was super friendly, and all spoke good to excellent English and German. My initial impression of the room was \"a little dated,\" but it was exceptionally clean and well kept. The garden style/sky lit restaurant atmosphere and staff was very nice, and the owner Paul and his wife (with toddler in tow) greeted me most mornings at breakfast. The breakfast had traditional ham, cheeses, bread rolls/jams, etc. but also smoked salmon, pastries from their bakery and several types of juices, and good coffee brought to your table. Eggs to order with meats if desired were included. 5-star? Nope, but very good, and I enjoyed it. As a result, I stayed their all 17 days.

In center of town - easy (5 min.) walking to restaurants, shops and train station. English speaking staff, very friendly and helpful, wonderful lay out of breakfast options. We had rooms 9 and 10 that had a spectacular shared balcony that was great for people watching and having an end of day glass of wine. VERY CLEAN, comfortable beds, large rooms. Will stay here again!

Nice cozy hotel in Landstuhl.

This was a last minute booking and I checked in during the early evening. The reception was lightly staffed at that time (they do advertise that check-in ends at 11pm so they are not 24-hrs). I was expecting the restaurant portion of the hotel to be open, but there was a sign stating that the restaurant routinely closes each Tuesday. This was not disclosed in the booking on Expedia so I had to walk a few blocks to find a place for dinner. The room was very cold upon entry and the radiators took a few hours to warm the room up -- I believe this is normal for most small hotels in Germany. However, the room was very nice and comfortable with down comforters and pillows, sleeping warmly was easily accomplished. The staff were very friendly with quick check-in and check-out. Breakfast was excellent! I glanced at the menus and really wished I had an opportunity to dine there. I would definitely go back to this cozy, country hotel.

A great trip down memory lane

My father was stationed in Landstuhl when I was a little girl and Cafe Goldinger was a favorite place for my parents. I celebrated my 11th birthday in this cafe. So, when I decided to take my daughter to Germany, I jumped at the chance to stay at the hotel. Taking a trip back in time proved to be very painful for me as I saw the changes and frankly, the destruction of military posts in Germany. But, at least this part of the trip was a joy and though I was heart-broken at the changes on post, the town of Landstuhl and certainly, my experience at Cafe/Hotel Goldinger brightened up our journey.

Germany at its Best

If you're visiting the Kaiserslautern military area, or just passing through, stay here. Great rooms with feather covers, wonderful German breakfasts as part of the bill. Happy, helping staff, and did I mention the pastry shop/bakery that is part of the hotel? MMMM. It's centrally located in Landstuhl, within walking distance of many restaurants and pubs, and there's no shortage of parking. The restaurant is part of a greenhouse full of trees. Not too hot, either.

This stay was a wonderful value. We stayed two days. Breakfast was the best we had anywhere on our Europe trip. They had the usual contenintal fare, but eggs cooked to order and meat was included. The room was of average size, clean, with small refrigerator, and comfortable; the only negative for us was the soft pillows, probably feather filled. The staff was very helpful and spoke very good English. We'd highly recommend this mid-priced hotel.

I am presently stationed in Stuttgart with the US Navy. My family came over to visit and I rented three rooms for one week. We were all very pleased with the hotel and the staff. They were all very friendly and worked hard to give us a very pleasant stay. Most had a good working knowledge of English so communication was not a problem.
There were five adults in our party with one baby (15 months old). We had no problems whatsoever with our accommodations. The one con was no air conditioning, but that is very common here in Germany. Luckily the weather is usually very good.
