We were only there for one night but everything was excellent. The restaurant was very good and the little bar area was tiny but perfect for us. The beds we exceptionally comfortable and the parking was right outside and very convenient for getting our bags in. We enjoyed the experience and recommend this place to anyone.

Beautiful, very clean and neat, affordable (huge suite with 4 beds for an extremely reasonable price), good breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff. The only thing to be aware of it is the layout. We were in their extended portion of the property, across the street, and our room was at the end of a maze of narrow walkways between buildings and a lot of stairs. We were originally going to bring our stroller, but it would have been impossible with the stairway up to the building with our room, the doors, etc. We also had to haul our luggage through all these stairs and windy walkways. For breakfast, we had to walk down a larger flight of stairs, cross a road, and then enter the main building. We are healthy and it was not a problem. But it would have been impossible for someone in a wheel chair or someone with a lot of unruly toddlers.

This was my second stay. I stayed for eight days over the Christmas holidays. The staff, service, restaurant, location, and price were all excellent and I will definitely stay here again. They had saved my information from my previous stay 6 months ago so check-in was fast and easy. On Christmas Eve I found a bag of chocolates, including a large foil-wrapped Santa Claus, at my door! What a lovely surprise!

This hotel was so nice, and so full of charm! The room set up fit our needs perfectly for our family of 4, with a separate room with bunk beds for the kids. You can tell they take great pride in their property. The property was very quiet, the restaurant on site was good as well. We would stay here again!

The room was much larger than most for the price. The mini fridge was comparable in size to one you might find in a small apartment. An abundance of towels in comparison to other hotels that often give you 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel per occupant.

We were traveling with a family member that had recent knee surgery and the staff was very kind in picking a room for us that had limited stairs and easy access to the shower. We so very much appreciated their willingness to be accomidating.

I have stayed in this area and pleasantly surprised this is a clean, modern room hotel just outside the main town of Kaiserslautern. It has most reasonably priced on site restaurant and good parking. Also much better priced than the Hilton thats in town always booked.

The room was clean and beds were comfortable. However, the room was smaller than expected. The hotel advertises AC, but only in one of the two bedroom suites. Upon checkout I was charged more than what I was told when I checked in. The room is not worth the cost.

When we first went to check in the room wasn't available even after being time for check in. There was 2 girls at the front desk that seemed not interested to do there job and somewhat ignored us. They were more focused on hanging out with each other. We finally said we would leave and come back with the hope our room would be ready and when we arrived a different lady was there and she was very helpful. She walked us to our room and let us in. The room was nice and roomy and clean.

One Night with Barbarossa.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at the Barbarossahof. As the first time there, the staff was very helpful and the room accommodating. I highly recommend the restaurant. Their dishes are well crafted and packed with taste. I just hoped Hotels.com included the breakfast with the room.

Check out was at 11 am. Breakfast was very good and restaurant service was great. Bar service fantastic! Room was across the reception area and you had to cross a major road. It was raining so it was sort of a nuisance. The beds comfortable, the rooms quiet and warm.

Beds were comfortable. There was a separate bedroom for my teenage kids with a bunk bed - not too comfortable. You need to leave the door open though for the A/C to get to that room. The shower was very uncomfortable - doors did not shut properly. Otherwise, the room was good. The place had a nice breakfast, and there is a bar/restaurant on location as well. The hotel is not near any walkable area - but it served my purpose to break the trip on my way further south.

This quiet hotel sits on the far eastern edge of Kaiserslautern. There is nothing really around here but a an Irish pub across the street. The property has rooms on both sides of the room, and has 2 rooms to eat in and an outside dining area as well. Taxis have to be called and you need to allow extra time. The handicapped people will have a rough time navigating the hotel. Lots of steep hills and it would be quite difficult to push a wheelchair up.

Staff was friendly and courteous. Rooms were well maintained and cleaned. I would recommend the proprietor change the shower doors. The current design of two sides opening doesn’t do much to mitigate voluminous amounts of water on the floor. Otherwise, bathrooms were very well maintained.

The best thing about this hotel is the restaurant, the food is fantastic! Unfortunately the family room we stayed in wasn’t great, the shower was terrible, no pressure and would go from cold to boiling hot randomly so we found it to be unusable! The cleanliness was ok, but not great! The beds were comfy and the bedding was nice.
Breakfast was good and the staff were very nice at the hotel.

Stay was overall good, the showers are awfully small though, barely enough room to raise your arms and wash your hair.
Beds were supersoft, but the pillows were great.
The room was nice, having an elevator was convenient.
Breakfast was a good, both american and european foods were available.

The suite was clean and has German charm but as a suite, the amenities are few and while the site says continental breakfast is included with room rates it’s actually not, then when you purchase it, it is not on par with other European continental breakfasts I’ve had throughout Europe for the price disappointing.

Stayed in the Suite and was impressed to say the least. Very clean. Microwave. Mini fridge. AC. Fireplace. Tub and shower great! Breakfast amazing too (seperate bill). The location is perfect for Soldiers who are coming or leaving Germany since it’s close to Kleber Kaserne and downtown Kaiserslautern. The staff speaks English so it makes things easier. The food at the restaurant is okay. The bed was comfortable.

Very clean rooms. My wife and I along with with our 2 dogs stayed here and the rooms were a decent size. The room service from the hotel restaurant was a huge plus. Parking was plenty, easy, convenient and free. Breakfast at the hotel was amazing also. Only downfall is there is no elevator but again its not much stairs to climb.

Manager and Staff are threatening and harassing .

Provided Payment on Check-In, Check-Out without any problems. Spent the next few weeks with many phone call from Manager and Staff claiming that no payment was made for the stay. Manager and Staff sent threatening messages from Hotels.com, threatened to call the Police even though payment was valid on check-in and check-out, offered to make a payment over the phone. Do not stay here.
