Wonderful hotel, close to a lot of tourist spots, like the colosseum, staff were very kind and friendly and provided great service, the buffet breakfast had a lot of variety and was very tasty. It was clean but the bathroom needed a little bit more cleaning, there was a lot of water residue, water spots. Overall it was good hotel, I’d recommend it!

It was okay! The shower had mould in it, and there was trash in the trash cans when we checked in, but other than that it was fairly clean. Location is okay too! 20 minute walk to most places!

BARELY 2-STAR PROPERTY

Who said this is a 4 star hotel?!!! This is barely 2-star motel in a very bad shape, old and worn out. Bed mattress is sink, show head broken, dirt all over the place. Front desk speaks broken English and is not helpful with requests. This place is NOT safe at nights and is FAR from the center.

The hotel is well located. The room we had was small, and so was the bathroom. The bidet was too close to the shower, making it very difficult to get in. The soap bottles in the shower and sink were empty. I put them outside the bathroom so they'd notice when they cleaned, but when I returned, I found them in the same place and still empty.
The breakfast was good.

First the good - the front counter staff were very helpful when asked for things (i.e wake up calls, cabs, information) and patient with language barrier issues.
Now the bad - The room was not as advertised. Bathroom was in disrepair. Almost zero soundproofing, you could hear all your neighbors bathroom activities, flushes, showers and even taking a number 2. Housekeeping staff on one occasion left our door open (thankfully nothing was missing, anyone could have walked in). No water pressure to fill tub, not that you would want a bath with their dirty jet heads. Definately not a four star hotel, or we were the unfortunate folks who got shafted with the worst room in the hotel.

Stayed for 4 nights — overall a decent stay, but with a few issues.
The location is excellent: just a short walk to the Colosseum and close to the metro, which made exploring the rest of the city really easy. The bed was very comfortable, which helped after long days of walking.

However, a few things fell short. The description of amenities wasn’t fully accurate — there was no airport shuttle, even though it was listed. Parts of the room looked worn: chipped paint on the door, jets in the bath that seemed old and unclean, and fake nails left on the floor, which clearly had been missed by housekeeping. We didn’t have much interaction with staff, so can’t really comment on service.

I was offered a room with broken toilet seat, i requested to get it replaced. They gave me the smelly room, i agreed to stay in the same room woth broken toilet seat. I was charged for a bottle of water. The kitchen & cleaing staffs were friendly but the reception staff were not friendly.

Hotel was just a short walk from the colosseum. The hotel itself was nice, well-kept with kind staff. The area it was in had more graffiti & seemed to be a little away from dining & attractions more in the center of Rome. All in all a lovely hotel :)

We’ve stayed for 6 days at the Hotel Saint John. Safe area & mostly quiet. Walking distance to the Colosseum! On your way, you pass by a supermarket & a few small stores. Many restaurants & shops towards Roma Termini Station in another direction.
My window faced the back towards a school so it was quiet at night. Slept with the window opened due to the air conditioning being turned off during February- which was fine because the temperature dropped overnight from 50’s Fahrenheit to 40’s Fahrenheit. Breakfast offered a wide variety to choose from. Staff were great; friendly & helpful.
Room was modern-ish & neat. Room was a good size for me alone. Can be a tight fit for 2 people. Can use a few more outlets / usb outlets. Bed was a little hard. Tub could’ve been more cleaner. Water ran all over floor during showers due to the small shower door.
Overall, a very good place to stay while in Rome.

A close walk from the Roma Termini. 5 minute walk to the colosseum and on to Rome central from there.

Not in a tourist area.

Rear of hotel overlooks a school and the windows are not sound proof.

Rooms were nice if small, showers are also small.

Day staff were friendly. We had an issue first night upon returning from an afternoon exploring we found the curtain has detached from the ceiling. No maintenance available, asked if we’d sleep without a curtain, when that kind offer was rejected we were informed there’s no replacement room available, then there was but it was a twin only room rather than the superior booked.
Next morning we were moved back into a different superior that had been available the night before.

Breakfast was very enjoyable.

All in all, once the issues were resolved it was a pleasant place to stay.

Great location as it is close to Roma Termini and within walking distance from the bus that is a few stops from the Colosseum. Direct bus route to major tourist attractions. Room was clean and comfortable, although bed was a little hard for my personal preference. Breakfast buffet had lots of options. Staff was helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Location is far. Service is horrible weird staff. The most awkward situation that I have never heard of is that they control the air conditioner for every room at the front desk. We had to call them every time the room gets colder or hotter. Hi can you please turn on the ac? WTH.

Our experience was disappointing due to the inconvenience of having to call reception every time we wanted to adjust the AC, which seemed unnecessary. Despite booking for two people, we were only provided with one key for the room. Additionally, the room appeared significantly smaller than depicted in the photos. When we requested a room change, we were informed that all rooms were identical.

The staff is outstanding…kind, professional and responsive. The rooms are comfortable. Only 2 minor issues…I like having an outlet available next to a bed to plug my phone in. There is one on the desk and one in the bathroom.
Also, I suppose this is true for all hotels in Rome…we were there at the beginning of May and it was starting to get warm. I did not know that the country does not allow them to turn air conditioning on so early.

I would stay here again for sure. I loved the neighborhood. Not heavily touristy.

Bed was nice and comfortable but the rest of it was impractical. Had to put the kettle on the floor to boil it because the lead was too short to reach the socket from the desk, paper cups were provided for drinks instead of mugs, no spoon to stir any drink that was made and the bathroom was tight for space - a bidet right in front of the shower making it difficult to enter and exit.

Hotel itself was lovely, staff were excellent all seemed to be fluent English also. Breakfast was nice although wait for the waiter to offer coffee as the buffet coffee isn’t so good. 15 min walk to the Colosseum and another 20 mins to the Trevi fountain.
There is metro stations close and hotel will call a taxi if needed but we walked everywhere easily enough, lots of places to eat close also.

I would rate my stay average. Room was tight like most European centers, that's alright. good bed. lack of power plugs near bed. But main problem's were really the clogged sink in the bathroom and the shower, that would pour really cold water for about 3 seconds each 40 seconds. Really unpleasant. Good staff. However, interphone to reception was always ringing busy. I complained and it kept happening anyway.

Loved that it was walking distance to the Colosseum. The staff was great. We got a welcome drink on the first day and their breakfast buffet was great. When my husband left his phone there by accident, the staff went above and beyond to help us get it shipped back to us - all the way from Rome to Florida, USA. We really are glad we stayed there.

This hotel is lacklustre for a 4 star hotel. The room is small and the bathroom is even worse. The shower was so tiny you can barely move. The toilet is directly across from the bidet and if you’re tall your knees touch it when you sit which is weird. I would not stay at this hotel again when I visit Rome
