Very nice, quiet hotel. They have a nice restaurant that makes things very convenient. Very nice for single traveler.

I was in the main building just off the breakfast area / restaurant. The included breakfast buffett was good and hearty. I happened to be in Oulu when it was warm and the in room air conditioner that you needed to exhaust to the outside manually was one item that some may not care for, but I had not problem with. The place had charm and the staff was really awesome

This place has been around in one form or another for many years, and the experience of the staff shines through. A welcoming afternoon tea and a sumtuous breakfast were just two of the standouts.

I booked in late afternoon. Was welcomed by a smiling friendly receptionist, who informed me about the 5pm tea being served in the lobby. She also reminded me I was entitled to a free access in a local gym. ( The \" Hukka\" gym itself was grrreat).

Had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The food was excellent—I had petite tender the first evening, which was perfectly served, and salmon with carrots the next evening. Superb!
As I’m a Negroni lover, I felt like I had walked into a haven. The knowledge about the cocktail was overwhelming. From two different servers, I received a fascinating lecture on Negroni history, the Bourdain story, and of course, a totally perfect drink. They explained that while they can offer different gins, they are quite strict about the vermouth—it must be Antica Formula. They also had strong opinions on which gin should be used (I had Bombay). When I asked for a few drops of fresh orange juice, the response was: “Well, we can do that if you prefer, but it will upset the sugar balance of the drink.”.... Ioved this comment that brings up the knowledge about the drink!!!!
Visiting a place where my favorite drink is served with such astonishing knowledge and passion just makes me feel good. Beyond that, the history of the place and the character of the building make you feel right at home. And the service? Absolutely excellent! If you want/need to stay at Radisson or Scandic, do that, but this is a place great better than the \"fancy\" ones.

Siisti ja kaunis hotelli. Hyvä aamupala. Ilmastointi oli vähän äänekäs, mutta arvostimme viileää huonetta heinäkuun hellepäivän jälkeen.

Vanhan rakennukset tarina ja tunnelma puuttui
Huoneemme oli uudisrakennuksessa. Huone oli siisti, mutta se oli väärin mitoitettu. Sänky oli nurkassa, mikä on parisängylle hankala, mutta huoneen mitoituksen takia muuta vaihtoehtoa ei ollut. Huone oli pimeä, koska verhot piti pitää edessä vieressä olevan kerrostalon takia. Hotelli oli pettymys, koska uudisrakennuksessa ei ole mitään vanhan rakennuksen tunnelmasta.

Kaunis, pienehkö hotelli. Melko hyvä aamupala. Huone oli kuitenkin pettymys. Se oli siivottu huonosti ja oli todella ahdas ja kostea. Lämpötila sahasi kylmästä kostean kuumaan. Kylpyhuone/ wc rakennettu huoneen sisään ja se oli todella epämiellyttävää. Huone oli selkeästi yhden hengen huone. Olisin ottanut toisen huoneen, jos olisin tajunnut asian ajoissa. Mielestäni hinta-laatusuhde ei ihan kohdannut. Ymmärrän kyllä, että hotelli on rakennettu vanhaan rakennukseen ja ratkaisut ovat silloin rajallisemmat. Huoneen olisi kuitenkin voinut siivota hyvin, kalustaa järkevämmin ja miettiä ilmanvaihtoasiaa hieman.

Parkkipaikasta ei varmuutta
Huone oli siisti ja kiva. Aamupala aivan loistava. Ainoa miinus oli, että parkkipaikat olivat täynnä ja molempina öinä auto jouduttiin jättämään tienvarteen. Toisena yönä vielä vähän kauemmas. Parkkipaikat olivat täynnä, koskka oli pikkujoulukausi ja talossa juhlijoita. Parkkipaikkoja ei ollut erikseen varattu yöpyjille. Neuvona oli, että auton olisi voinut siirtää myöhemmin, kun pikkujouluvieraat lähtevät, jos olisi sattunut vapautumaan paikkaa.

Olipa mukava yöpymiskokemus - vaanhainkodissa. Oli ilo olla hyvin rakennetussa historiallisessa rakennuksessa, saatettu moderniin käyttöön hyvällä maulla. Ruoka oli hyvää. Kun tulee asiaa yöpyä Oulussa, tähän hotellin majoitun. Plus iso etu - takapihalla ilmainen parkkipaikka. Suosittelen!

Todellakin kiva boutiq-hotelli likietuisella sijainnilla. Historia tuo mielenkiintoisen kulman rakennukseen.
Vanha kiinteistö on varmasti haasteellinen ylläpitää mutta ontuvat selitykset kaukolämmön hitaudesta olivat lähinnä asiakkaan aliarvioimista. Kaukolämpö on juuri niin nopea kuin lämmönvaihdin on kiinteistössä säädetty toimimaan. Pesuhuoneen mukavuuslattialämpö jää asiakkaan ainoaksi vaihtoehdoksi lämmittää huone. Ja sehän on sähköllä toimivana kallista. Eikä kovin ekologistakaan.
Huoneiden kokolattiamatot ovat varmasti perusteltu valinta. Kokolattiamatto vain pitää puhdistaa perusteellisesti vähintäänkin kerran kuukaudessa. Pelkkä imurointi ei riitä. Oulusta löytyy lukuisia ammattilaisia hoitamaan asian ammattitaidolla ja tehokkaasti.

Kahden yön majoitus. Torstaina illalla käytiin hotellin ravintolassa syömässä, ruoka oli hyvää ja palvelu ensiluokkaista. Iso kehu ja kiitos meitä palvelleelle henkilölle.

Olimme pettyneitä kun emmä päässeet päärakennukseen yöpymään. Vuode sivurakennuksessa oli seinässä kiinni toiselta sivultaan ja näinkin iäkkäille ihmisille sinne meneminen ja pois tuleminen tuotti hiven vaikeuksia. Huone itsessään oli pieni mutta siisti. Henkilökuntaa ei näkynyt muuta kuin sisäänkirjautuessa ja yksi henkilö aamiaisella.

Vierailimme toista kertaa ko. hotellissa. Ensimmäinen kerta oli ihan ok. Toinen ei.
Huoneessa oli erittäin huono ja kuuma ilma koko vierailumme ajan.(3 vrk) Huoneen viilennysputki oli hankala työntää ikkunasta ulos, koska sänky oli kiinni ikkunassa. Ulompi ikkuna täytyi käydä ulkokautta työntämässä kiinni yön ajaksi.
