Basic rooms, limited tv channel options, sheets unclean with stains, nail sticking out of bed frame. Rarely hot water, have to run for 15-30 min at times to heat up.

Cafeteria staff, EXCELLENT, and included breakfast good. A ling walk to beaches and general amenities/shopping. Biggest issue was HOTEL TRANSPORT.

Messaged tge hotel for a quite on private transfer to and from hotel/airport ROUND TRIP. Was super clear that i needed both ways, and told them I previously paid $40USD each way, and if they could come close, I'd book. They quoted me $126, which is substantially higher, but I agreed, so OUR hotel could get the extra $$$. They sent me a payment link, I paid, and THOUGHT we were all set. (3 of us)

The night before leaving, I hadn't heard anything, so i messaged to confirm a time for pickup. They acted like they had no idea we needed a ride, and told me to pay another $126USD, and complete payment IMMEDIATELY if we wanted the ride.

We ended up calling Carribean Transport services, that charged LESS than 1/2 their price, for a nicer vehicle, and friendlier driver. We left a nice HUGE tip, and would use them again.

We go to Playa yearly or twice yearly, and will not stay here again, as it was a scam & letdown all around. There were a few other issues, but this should give you more than enough to avoid this place.

Hotel photos are very decieving. The rooms were dark, no proper light. There was strange smell and realised in the morning light that the room was full of mould. There was no hot water in the morning. Had to call lobby and get it fixed. There was no shampoo either. Towels were dirty. Avoid this Hotel completely unless you just want to sleep and run away next morning.

The pool is small and cold. Sound travels though the building is concrete; it's noisy. There is no shampoo, coffee, or ice. There is a rooftop cafe, open limited hours. Bike rentals are associated with an external company. There is plenty of nearby shopping and eating. There are nearby laundromats and fruit stores. Side streets are dirty, full of stray animals. Hotel staff are all friendly. Special tribute to Brito: he who knows and solves all. I really wish the hotel had coffee in the lobby and an ice machine.

When I looked up the information, the hotel looked very nice in the photos and the location is great. However, the room is very poor. It has a lot of humidity, the internet doesn’t work properly and keeps cutting out, and there is no fridge in case you want to store water or anything you’ve bought. The sheets and towels look old and have a bit of an unpleasant smell.

The staff and front desk are very kind, attentive, and polite. However, the room is not worth it. Honestly, I wouldn’t return to this hotel. The price is okay, but for the same price you can find better options. Last month I came on another business trip and stayed at a place I think is called The Fifty — the price is about the same, maybe $3–$5 more per night, but the rooms are much larger and cleaner. They also have a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen, as well as a rooftop with a pool and good service.

In summary: excellent location, very friendly staff, but very poor rooms 👎

Simple, clean room with excellent temperature control. It took a bit of time for hot water to reach our room but we didn’t mind that. A refrigerator in our room would have been an appreciated bonus.
We were a bit disappointed with the included breakfast as we have had more choices at other hotels but it was definitely enough food. The restaurant was only open for breakfast, though. It would have been nice if we could have bought lunch and/or drinks there when we were having pool days.
The pool needs a bit of work but it was also clean and we did enjoy it.
The staff were all friendly and helpful.
This property could be rated even higher with minimal work. We would definitely visit again. The location is great! Far enough away from the craziness of downtown but close to fabulous places to eat and shop at. Just a short walk to the beach, too.

Missing a fridge in our room thay would have been extremely handy to have, but we just picked up a smal cooler for the week we were here. If you are looking for an affordable place to stay, it really was all that we needed. Staff are wonderful and the place is clean

The room was adequate for what I paid. Lots of concrete, little charm, no kettle to boil water, inconsistent hot water supply, no drinking water supplied as advertised on Expedia. Most staff seemed disinterested. Nice pool area. I liked the location slightly away from the really touristy section. Didn’t try the breakfast. Little changes would have made this much better!

We booked this last minute to be closer to the airport for an early flight. For one night and the price it was ok, but definitely not for more although the location was good. Room had a damp smell, it improved once we opened the window. Breakfast had limited options and very slow service since it was a team of two (the young lady who did all the front line work like taking the order, waitress and bus the tables and then the chef). Only drink options were coffee and orange juice. I asked if I could just get a cup of hot water since I bring my own tea bags for this type of situation and the response was yes, but I’d have to pay extra. I could tell the girl was embarrassed to have to charge for water. It was over 30 minutes before we got our food, which was fruit, scrambled eggs and toast. i am glad we were one of the first to head over for breakfast because by the time we were done all the tables were taken so it would have probably been over an hour at that point.

The room doesn't look nothing like the pictures. The room looks old, walls poorly painted. The pictures on the ad shows beautiful tiled floor and the reality is different. The floor is not tiled. The wifi is the worst, it doesn't work inside the rooms and the receptionist said that it only works in the hall way and lobby. The pool area is closed at night, no lights no staff at the rooftop pool and terrace. I would come back here. The only good thing about the room was the bed.

Spotless, that depends on your definition of spotless. Yes, it was clean, but it wasn't a 5 star hotel. It was a beach hotel, but very good. And the staff was courteous and hard working. If you want to stay at an affordable safe and clean hotel on a budget, this place is good.

The location was perfect for us, just off 5th but not in the busy section. The lobby is cute as well as the garden space between the buildings. Something to note is it appears that the king rooms all face the garden while the rooms with two beds face the street. The hotel is probably due for some upgrades but there was nothing wrong with it. Sheets were clean and the staff was very kind and helpful. I wish the breakfast was a bit better, we ate there on the first morning and didn’t go back. I also wish that they left bottles of water in the room and that there was a mini fridge.

For the price and location it was great. The staff was quiet but friendly when approached. The building is concrete and a bit older but very well kept. Like older buildings I stayed in in Spain and England it has an older smell but no mold or mildew.
The breakfast was delicious. The rooftop pool and restaurant was beautiful. Very handy to 5th ave and local public beach. Yes I would stay here again. Only thing to know is there is no bottled water in the room.

I made this reservation late one night and had an error on the dates. I tried immediately to contact the hotel and they insisted I fix it through Expedia, however, when Expedia finally got a hold of them they wouldn't allow the correction, so I am now out the money for the reservation.

Overall I've expected more from \"4-star\" hotel. The room is veeery basic and minimalistic. I stayed at 4th floor, \"under\" the cafe. Every morning at 6am they started moving tabels/chairs/something. And it's loud, and made me woke up. Stuff is nice and friendly.

Would have been a great spot but the set up for the buffet every day was the noisiest thing I've ever heard in a hotel.
I was 2 floors down from the roof and it woke me up daily at 6am.
I ended up changing to another hotel. The staff were great and the location was good. Close to a lot of restaurants and 5th Ave hustle. There was mold in the shower which I had them clean upon arrival, but it never did fully clean up. Couldn't smell it and it didnt make my eyes hurt so wasnt too bad. Bed was decent and rooftop area was nice. If you don't choose the buffet breakfast, your coffee will be the price of a good Americano up the street. Would have appreciated a more friendly price for guests.

The hotel is in a great location. You literally walkout to the main strip where everything is located. The hotel doesn’t have a gym but there are some nearby. I highly recommend going to a gym called Evolve. The rooms are nice and I had great customer service at the front desk. Nobody really used the swimming pool because the beach is so close.

“It’s an old building. They have a room on the first floor with a lot of humidity coming off the concrete. The window opens directly to the walking area and stairs, bringing in excessive noise from kids and their parents early in the morning. Around 7:30 AM, workers arrive, and you can hear everything they do.

There is no real sense of privacy in that place. They also require signing too many unnecessary documents for check-in and check-out. Additionally, the internet speed fluctuates, and sometimes it doesn’t work at all.

Wir hatten ein Zimmer im Erdgeschoss für eine Nacht (Overlay vor Weiterreise). Die Decke und der Boden waren nicht verputzt, es erinnerte an eine Abstellkammer. Es roch nach Schimmel.
Hinter der Tür hing ein genutztes Handtuch von den letzten Gästen.
Es wimmelte von Mosquitos, wir erwischten bestimmt 10 und es tauchten immer weitere auf.
Der aufgerufene Preis war für dieses Zimmer viel zu hoch.
Buchung ohne Frühstück, daher keine Aussage dazu möglich.

Good budget hotel with a clean room and a comfortable bed. The basic really with no fridge. Passeport ID requirement, not my favorite because of entity theft. Very close a 5th avenue , 8 min walk to the beach and 25 min from ADO bus terminal. If by Taxi negociate 150 -200 pesos. The rooftop needs some TLC, and more plants to distract from the view. Loved the eco jungle is the erea close to elevator.

El hotel es sencillo pero tiene todo lo necesario para estar en el. La localización es al final de la 5ta avenida que está muy bien porque se puede ir a caminar para la playa 88 o para la 5ta avenida. Las áreas fueron muy seguras. Lo único que no me encanto es que cada dos días se acababa el agua caliente. Por lo demás me pareció bien ante el precio por noche.

Very basic, not modernized at all. 1 flimsy chair that looked unsafe to sit in. No USB ports at all. The hallway reaked of a musty smell. The room was a concrete floor, no carpeting or rugs. No refrigerator. The hot water was abundant and it had great water pressure. The A/C worked well. The housekeeping staff was wonderful and kept the room clean. Nothing horrible, just a plain, basic room.

I had never been to Playa del Carmen before, it would have been nice to know that the pedestrian walkway to the central area was just left as you exit the hotel. I turned right and the area felt less safe as I was walking along the sidewalk. It is a great location for the price, once I realized how close it was to the pedestrian road. The staff are friendly and the hotel is very clean.

The location of the hotel is great, in a more quiet part of the fifth street, very close to good restaurants and beach. The staff is generally great, except for the breakfast team.
Unfortunately the breakfast is not great at all, very limited, and the breakfast staff is flat-out rude and have no standards for service. Would not recommend to pay extra for daily breakfast, the hotel should focus more on the rooms and guest service instead of trying to upsell breakfast, if this is not a priority.

At the north end of 5th Ave. Convenient x close but not right on the avenue x a little distance from the noise x activity.
Easy access to northbound 5th ave to public beaches (less known).
Roof top cafe 👍, good food, very friendly.
Roof top pool.
Front lobby staff all very nice, accommodating. Great place for the rate. (Would like an in room mini fridge). 👍😁

This hotel was located right next to 5th but it wasn’t like in the middle of everything so it was good. The staff were nice and tried to help to their best efforts. The pool was pretty indeed ne looked like the pictures. The price was good for the place.

Do not ask the staff to help you with a taxi because the will overprice for like 3x.
Why do you think they have more pictures of the pool than anything else in this hotel. The rooms were okay. The floor looked like it was “painted” years ago and as time went on it’s been clearing and doesn’t look so great. As seen in one of the pictures on the site, the sink IS NOT IN THE BATHROOM. It’s the first thing you see when you walk in so be warned. The cleaning lady actually leaves a small envelope so you can tip them ne I found this was my first time seeing this ever. It was interesting but at least she did a great job. The sheets and towels were okay but one throw pillow that was on the bed smelled so bad. Like it’s been there since the opening of the hotel and never been washed smh.

OTHER

The amenities available are just what is listed. The only thing they have is a pool. There’s no washing machine or dryer ir any other common amenities you’d see in other hotels. I advise to find a laundry place near the hotel because you may need it.

Overall it was an okay stay. Pay more attention to the pictures so you won’t be shocked upon arriving but it was an okay stay.

The hotel is dated and is in need of some serious repairs. Our balcony was not safe to walk out on the area is a little rundown. It has an abandoned building on one side, and a series of older buildings on the other side. The location is perfect though. It’s literally a three minute walk from Quinta Avenue. There is ample parking and the staff was phenomenal.
