The room was fantastic. The pool was not available empty due to low season though no notice regarding this. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast basic on the whole we would return for the location and great location.

We really enjoyed our stay. We had two rooms. The property was run down but beautiful and the staff was nice and very accommodating. Rooms were great, the staff was helpful in letting us know the balcony with sunset view was street side so lounder than back side balcony rooms which were quiet. This stay made us want to call a DIY show and bring this diamond in the rough back to glory! Walking distance to Michelin backed restaurant and Herculaneum. Good base for Mt Vesuvius (20 min/km) and Prompeii (45 min drive). Parking onsite was very convenient and secure.

The room itself was huge and beautiful. Was clean and we were given 4 extra pillows. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The outside of the hotel is in need of much care. The pool area was cluttered and the pool itself was dirty. Seems like the outside of the hotel and property has been neglected…not sure if it’s off season, but definately did not look like the pictures on line.

The staff were very helpful, and willing to help, not just help because it is part of the job. From quick to translation to quick questions, they were there. Which was great because I can be a little nervous with language barriers.
In hindsight, I do wonder if there was a bit of a leak in my restroom, but me not bringing that to the attention of staff is on me, not on staff being unapproachable (because they were not).
The garden and park area around the hotel was what drew me to it. What I liked was that yes the property was unkept, but it was not so pristinely kept that I was scared of going off a path or fearful of touching anything. There may be a stray chair somewhere, or the remnants of a project unfinished, but that made me feel more comfortable about not needing to worry so much about what I did, unlike other places one could go.
Across the street is the most reliable sandwich shop, run by the most wonderful woman and her daughter (?), the kind of place that you know will be quality food and you’ll feel good buying from them. There’s a few different café’s, each with their own environment to them (aesthetically and sociologically). There’s also Herculaneum literally 2 blocks away and the beach a 10-15 minute walk, if that. Great, quality spots around without it being super busy all the time. I think this hotel being in such a location is fantastic. Inspires some movement, but you also have what you need close by incase you want a day in with minimal walking.

Got a room with a large balcony overlooking the grounds. Loved it! Breakfast wasn't that great but swimming pool was very nice an the grounds of the old villa, though not in great shape were enjoyable to wakk in. Very relaxing.

Rustic at its worst
Shabby chic Gone past it’s sell by date. On top of this the air conditioning was broken throughout the hotel. Only saving grace was Elenor, who went beyond to look after us and the situation - 5 star to her.

This hotel was probably great in 1970. Room was clean and spacious. Showing signs of wear. Grounds have not been kept up. The pool was great though. No bar as advertised, restaurant was very, very limited. Room was quite warm, air con could not keep up. Would be ok in cooler months.

To say this hotel is uncared for is an understatement, the pictures must be many years old. The grounds have not been looked after for many years. There was no air conditioning anywhere in the hotel (it was 34 degrees) our shower didn't work and the curtains in the room were falling down. The breakfast was meagre and to top it off when having a glass of wine in the courtyard (out of water glasses, they had no wine glasses) we witnessed staff fighting in front of us ...reminiscent of Faulty Towers but not really funny....The hotel would not even consider offering a discount. I would really advise people not to stay here there are many other options available.

The grounds of the hotel are enormous, almost palatial and the room was incredibly spacious with a lovely view, but slightly run down. The air conditioning wasn't very cool, the controls for the jacuzzi didn't work and the door didn't lock Ercolano is a less affluent part of Italy but lying between Pompeii and Herculean makes it an interesting place to visit.

We booked this hotel with no idea of what to expect other than what we had read in other reviews. We were pleasantly surprised at what we found. Large spacious rooms, comfortable beds, a good breakfast selection and welcoming staff. Although a little shabby chic and in need of a little attention don’t let this distract you from what is an overall good experience. When we stayed the swimming pool was out of action but by the end of the week was being refurbished. The surrounding areas of the town give you the experience of true Italian life. The local people are friendly and not once did we feel unsafe. If you’re prepared to do some walking and use the trains to get around it’s great. 2 adults and 2 grown up teenagers on the train to Sorrento from Ercolano Savi train station $13.60 one way. Great way to see the countryside.
So in a nutshell, if you’re wanting a 5 star hotel this is not for you but if you’re wanting something more affordable then this is a great place to rest your head.

The restaurant wasn't open for lunch when we arrived and we had to check if we could have dinner as they were hosting a conference. But the staff were all very helpful, lovely and friendly. The resident cat made us smile. We were pleased to have a room with terrace as there was no air conditioning and I think the fridge didn't work. But lovely building and would stay there again, a little oasis in a busy town x

The property at some point might have been great but the condition is in poor shape. The gardens are beautiful but unkept with lots of misquitos. AC not available until June and the pool was empty with mosquitos in it. The Windows have no screens so we couldn't open the Windows to cool off the room which was warm and humid. The staff was very nice but things didn't like the Wifi (got fixed the 2nd day) and the shower head were broken so we had to use the hand held, at least that worked.

We had an absolutely wonderful 2 night stay and would highly recommend others to enjoy this amazing place. We did think there was a pool available, as it did show one in the pictures, but it looked like it hadn't been open for a while. I must say we actually loved the grounds looking more overgrown, gave it character. We loved our stay!

Miglio d’Oro Park Hotel is in a prime location in Ercolano, perfect for visiting Herculaneum and exploring the region. It’s a 15-minute walk from Ercolano Scavi station, though Portici-Ercolano station offers more frequent and cheaper trains, about a 25-minute walk or a quick cab ride away.
The hotel itself is charmingly quirky—like a grand mansion with a faded elegance. Our room was spacious with high ceilings and a patio with ocean views, though the patio lacked furniture and needed some maintenance. The bathroom was large but had no shower, only a bathtub. This is a truly spectacular \"palazzo\", with somewhat sparse rooms that are large with very high ceilings. The entry is unimpressive (which may be a characteristic of a palazzo in Italy), but the large garden and grounds in the back are spectacular.

We were moved to a terrace room on day 2 with a shower that worked intermittently but the air con didn't work at all and we only had a fan - it was 45 degrees outside. Our terrace was decorated by dead plants in pots full of cigarettes, which was the same all around the property.

There was not english speaker at the reception. The rooms were old and had black mold from the air conditioner. Shower didn't have courtain and was moldy all over. The lamps weren't working floor was dirty. The outside is not just a old is run down. This is false advertising. Breakfast was not good. We had to move.

We stayed here for one night - it was a great and convienient location for visiting Herculanaeum and our \"Horse Riding Naples\" tour the following day. Parking was safe and secure. The breakfast was not fresh. The building was unkempt and all the surrounding. It's a shame because it had lots of potential but no one is interested. The bathroom facilities were really old, rusty and the shower doors were not closing fully. It does need a good renovation.

While our room was spacious, the hotel overall is a disappointment. Everything seems to be falling appart. The air conditioning in the room was not working so it was like an oven. We got portable air coolers sent which didn't do much to relieve the issue. The fridge in the room was not working. We were told a technician will be sent and this did not happen. Furniture in the room barely stands up (the Ottoman in our room had a broken leg). The overall site requires maintenance. The garden is a jungle, the walking area has not been cleared in ages and there is a build up of slippery moss/ slime grass. Breakfast is rubbish (more continental Vs hot breakfast). Restaurant is basic. However food was not bad.

Shabby Chic with amazing grounds and views from the rooms of Naples Bay or Vesuvius. The building is one of a kind. It has faded elegance and beautiful decorative details that cannot be found in a modern hotel. There are cracks and wobbles and it needs money to refurbish and make it excellent. That said, if I wanted a base for Herculaneum, Pompeii, Naples, Sorrento again, I would happily stay at Miglio D'Oro Park Hotel again.

Gorgeous hotel and grounds. The floors were not very clean and the bed back boards in one of our rooms was very stained. It looked terrible. One of our 3 rooms had no shower and just a hand held sprayer that could not be wall mounted.

The property is nice. Old with good grounds. But no direction of how to park. The breakfast is very ordinary and the staff even worse. They picked up anything that finished even though it was still 30 minutes to go be free breakfast ended. They served coffee as if they are making the beans and then making the coffee. Expedia re-booked us to this property when our original reservation fell through and I am so glad they did. Walking distance from the beach and the Herculean Ruins. The property itself was absolutely lovely - while being a little outdated (bathroom/shower area left lots to be be desired), the bed was super comfortable and the pool and landscape was beautiful! I walked through fountains, towers, and an amazing nature trail right on the property. Breakfast was provided each morning at no additional cost and the glass elevator surrounded by a marble staircase was breathtaking. The front desk helped arrange our pick-up and gave great suggestions for food options really close by. Property is only a 10 minute walk to the train to go to Pompeii - absolutely recommend this hotel!

This property was BEAUTIFUL! Beautiful hotel and rooms. The only thing is that there’s barely anything to do in it’s surroundings, and it’s deceiving since this is NOT in Napoli, it’s in Ercolano which is a 20 min car ride from Napoli.
Transportation from Napoli to Ercolano is very expensive, from 60-80€.
Although the hotel is amazing, if you are staying in Napoli; this is not convenient unless you are prepared to face the challenges of the transportation

We were very apprehensive y after reading reviews but we have just ended a lovely stay! Our room was clean, had air conditioning and all we needed - including lots of space & a glorious view! It would have been lovely to have tea making facilities in the room, and hot water in the shower on the last day. The hotel has many wonderful historical features but is in need of some TLC! Nevertheless we had a lovely time. The pool was clean & quiet, the gardens were delightful and apart from checking out on the last day, service was great.
Breakfast was both simple but also had plenty of choices - croissants & pastries. However, it would have been good to see the milk & cheese being kept cooler/ covered. The staff were friendly & helpful.

This hotel is stunningly beautiful, albeit has clearly seen better days. In many ways this adds to the charm (and the price - if fully restored this would be MUCH more expensive I am sure)

Breakfast is substandard with out of date diary products served up. No hot food! Bread products often stale.
No iron or ironing board, take your own iron and no tea/coffee making facilities in the room either. Which you would expect from a hotel nowadays.
No bar, catering staff will serve beer and wine when serving evening meals. Outside those hours there is no service.
Evening meals, not much choice and poor standard. We ordered a hot pork and vegetable dish that was stone cold. Charged 12 Euros for that one plate of food. It was very poor quality.
The pool is open to the public, not the tranquil place as photographed on the site and very busy all day. Often the smell of Marijuana is present. Which only leaves the area when the hotel guests can use the pool in peace, at 7pm,. Which is when the pool is officially closed, apparently.
The gardens and building is very run down. and situated next to a busy main road. The traffic noise is constant throughout the day and night for 24 hrs.
Some of the serving staff were friendly. But was not enough to soften the underwhelming experience of staying in this hotel.

Good historic hotel. Staff did not know the area well. The room was not well maintained and we appreciate its an old historic building but when the lights in the bathroom above the shower does not work is can be dangerous showering. The air-conditioning did not work and when we asked for it to be fixed they just kept saying the engineer is coning when they knew he wasn't because the had not contacted the engineer. just lying. One of the bedside lights was broken and instead of just replacing it they left it in the wardrobe. The in room safe did not work and we asked if could be fixed they refused.
We then asked if they could change our room and they again refused and after contacting Expedia they tried to talk to the hotel and were told if you don't like you can check out and find another hotel.

Very disappointing. A beautiful hotel which has sren better days. Everything was very tired and neglected. Service was very poor. Had so many small problems they said they would sort, but they only eventually fixed the hot water. Had to complain 4 x times before they finally sorted. The Air con was useless and only mildly cooled the room which was roasting. Fridge again only mildly cooled food, did not keep it fresh. The bathroom door could not closed or opened due to previous water damage. A number of lights did not work or bulbs were spent. The table cover in the breakfast room were dirty and not changed.
On the plus, the food was good, the grounds peaceful. Plenty of seats to sit on.

My room was absolutely huge and airy. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here although the shower stools couldnt be used as they werent attached, and being disabled that 1 small detail would of made my stay heaven. The hotel is absolutely beautiful both inside and out. The staff were all extremely kind and helpful. The whole hotel was immaculately kept.
The outside park part is full of hidden gems, definitely a place to spend time exploring all the little payhways. I would recommend this hotel anytime. If i ever go back to Ercolano its the one i shall book again.

The hotel was a lovely mixture of oldy worldy charm and shabby chique and art decor all rolled into one which is showing its age. In its heyday it was probably stunning but a lack of investment means it's slightly falling apart at the seams. Having said that we loved it's grandeur and charm and would stay there again. The breakfast were great as were the staff, even when our table collapsed one breakfast sending milk and cornflakes everywhere . With views over the Bay of Naples the grounds were a fascinating mixture of plants and features again fairly neglected. Pity the swimming pool was out of operation too. Fascinating place and ideal for exploring this part of Italy.

A Grand Old Hotel
Miglio D'Oro Park Hotel is an old palazzo that has been converted into a comfortable hotel. It is true that it has seen better days but it offers excellent value for money, both as a hotel and restaurant. The rooms are the largest I have ever stayed in, the showers were good, the beds comfortable, everything was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was good but British guests might find that the breakfast options are a bit sweet for their tastes. As we were on a family trip, we had two rooms. The one at the back was quiet with nice views of the garden. The one at the front had enormous balconies with a nice sea view but the traffic noise took some getting used to. It is very convienently located for the ruins at Herculaneum.

Excellent hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful planning excursions. Our room was huge with plenty of space for three people and a handicapped scooter. Parking was safe and convenient. Location was only 3 blocks from the Herculaneum archeological site and close to restaurants. Breakfast was also very good. We loved the architecture of the hotel.

This was a palace converted into a hotel so it is very old. The view of the sea from our room was great! However, the grounds were not kept up at all. (There is a huge garden in the rear of the hotel but nobody has done much to it to keep it beautiful. I mean, a leaf blower and a pair of hedge clippers would do it). The pool looked nice and clean and well kept though. Anyway, the wifi in our room and around the hotel was weak if it worked at all. There was no shower, just a tub with jets in it and a hand held shower attachment. The breakfast was 6/10. But the amenities around the hotel were sufficient and it wasn’t too far from Pompeii and this nice volcanic sand beach. It was when we walked to the train station to catch the train to Naples that we had to practically wade through garbage on some of the smaller backstreets. Such a shame that the locals don’t have pride enough in their city not to litter or to pick up trash if they see it.
That’s not the hotels fault though and it seems to be like that everywhere in Italy. :(

This may have been a beautiful property years ago, but it has fallen into disrepair, including leaks in the ceiling creating puddles on the hallway floor that we had to dodge. The staff was kind enough to allow us to check bags early while we went on a tour of Pompeii nearby. There was a restaurant on property that some other guests were dining at, but we had difficulty purchasing an afternoon beverage. The room was large and seemed to have been cleaned, but there were large rips in the curtains, patches of plaster on the wall, and what appeared to have been crayon marks on the headboard left by a previous guest. The sheets were very rough, making sleep a bit difficult. I would search for other options in this area before booking here.

First, i greatly enjoyed this charming hotel. I didnt expect it to be right in the town becuase of the back gardens etc. This is right in the middle of everything. We were a little scared at first as it needs some paint & repairs in the front, but inside and back gardens are wonderful. Staff was super friendly, accommodating and helpful. We had multiple interactions with the bell hop/room service/housekeeping/bar back young guy. He was so helpful! Everything from making sure we had wine/beer/soda in our rooms before close (it was a Sunday so yeah) to stopping street traffic so we can turn around and park. Breakfast was great. Rain shower in my room was perfect, instantly hot and hurricane water pressure. Needed 4 towels to deal with the flooding but whatever it was great. Every interaction with this hotel was great.

The hotel is grandiose and its park well maintained. Rooms are gigantic. Bathroom needs renovation. A lovely historic building with spacious rooms and helpful,friendly staff. The decor is a mix of art deco, ancient, and modern.We were upgraded at no extra charge to a corner suite with a terrace and views of Vesuvius and the sea. There are beautiful gardens to walk in with sculpture and pretty flowers, although these and the pool needed some attention.Reception, restaurant, and room staff were professional and welcoming. There was good choice and quality of food at dinner and breakfast, although no room service due to few staff o the night we stayed.

Enjoy the views from an historic villa
This hotel was once a beautiful and historic Villa. It’s still retains beautiful grounds and a pool. We had a view of Mount Vesuvius out of one window, and of the Bay of Naples out of the other. We walked to Herculaneum and toured the site. We drove there from Germany and were pleased that there was convenient and secure on-site parking. Breakfast was better than most, with lots of fresh fruit. I would go back in a minute.

Biggest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Huge ensuite. Enormous beautiful hotel. Restaurant was fantastic. Great food. Couldn't fault it. Overall all this hotel needs is a new coat of paint inside and out along with a good clean and in my opinion I'll then rate it 4.5 star hotel.

Convenient for Herculaneum Scavi
This hotel is struggling....staff are incredibly slow especially in the restaurant...20 minutes just to get the menu, and we were seated for an hour before getting our main course. The facilities are tired and if broken they are not mended. The good thing is it's five minutes walk from Herculaneum and for one night it's okay. The pool in the garden is lovely and reception staff are helpful.

I particularly liked the extensive gardens and the pool, but the rooms were very nice also. The gardens have just the right mix of well maintained and light decay. They could run the fountains more than just a few hours in the evening though. Restaurant good too.

The hotel was very nice. Elegant, but slightly dated. The staff was very nice. Nice, large, quiet garden/park at the back of the hotel. Large car park, although it is at the back of the property. The room was huge, as was the separate bathroom. The room air conditioner did not seem to cool, although the fan part functioned. Fortunately, it was April and not too hot. Room was on the street side, so with the windows open, there was some street noise. Location of the hotel is a very short walk to the Herculaneum archaeological site. Breakfast was good (croissants were excellent, in my opinion).

Interesting because in a way was great, yet as a 4 star hotel it felt left behind in terms of amenities and on-premise services.
Italian grandour cant be bought but it felt it was run on the cheap by looking at breakfast or lack of anything else. The room was huge and clean but at the same time there was no good lighting, the second bed was a sofa bed and was pretty atrocious so it’s a love hate relationship.
The people were very nice, specially reception.

Lovely big room and comfortable bed but lack of hot water both morning and evening. Shabby chic. Breakfast not great. Dinner good and staff very hospitable. Very convenient site but hard to find as building called Villa Aprile.
