A great hotel with views of Vesuvius. Staff were first class. Good sized room. All spotlessly clean. Huge grounds in which to walk or relax. Pool with loungers & towels supplied plus the poolside bar. On site parking with buggies available to bring luggage to or from your car. Also courtesy bus from the nearest station (free) or the airport (chargeable). Good breakfast buffet. We didn't try the restaurant. Good location for visiting Pompeii or Herculaneum.

Beautiful hotel, grounds and staff. Made for the perfect base to discover Amalfi coast, Pompeii and an easy train to Rome. The pool is fantatsic and open until late, great for a quick refresh after a hot day exploring this part of Italy. Our junior suite room in the main building with views of the mountain, the grounds, the pool, Naples and even a bit of the sea was beyond our expectations.

Lovely hotel, some things could be improved in the bedroom, the shower flooded the floor as did not drain correctly and the towel rails in the shower and the bathroom were both loose. The grounds are very pretty, the pool is very nice, breakfast could be much better.

Wedding Venue

This hotel is a wedding venue! We were assured by the management that the wedding would not disrupt our stay, they did. A wedding every day, music blaring from midday near the pool area. Then again in the hotel until 10.30pm. The hotel is a min €20 cab ride to any restaurant. So you definitely need a car. The grounds are beautiful with a waterfall and fountains. The food was good.
Wedding season is most months apart from August. Naples is not the best area to appreciate the Italy I know and love.

The hotel was very comfortable. The only thing I would have added was a fan in the large room I stayed. The air conditioner kept it cool enough but the air was so still that it seemed hotter than it was. As for everything else? It was superb. The LINE restaurant was flawless. Excellent food and at a great price. The views and ground of the hotel were just magnificent. Only matched by the competence, kindness and efficency of the staff.

We loved our stay at Il San Cristoforo. The rooms were spacious, clean and modern, and the resort property was beautiful and quiet. The staff were always helpful. The hotel offers free shuttle services multiple times a day to the nearby main train station (Ercolano Scavi) which made it easier for one of our day trips. They were also very helpful with getting a shuttle to Napoli Centrale for when we checked out. One thing to keep in mind is that local restaurants are a bit of a walk (~20 minutes) which we personally didn't mind. Also, the closest train station (S. Giorgio a Cremano) is about a 30 minute walk. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Il San Cristoforo.

Excellent hotel with gorgeous grounds and views of Mount Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. Spacious and very clean rooms, Extremely quiet setting, which might be rare for Naples, since the hotel is set well away from roads, and even its own parking lot, in a lush garden setting. A bit of a walk to reach the shaded parking lot but the beautiful path made it seem quite short. Assistance is provided with a golf cart to transfer luggage from parked car to hotel Very nice buffet breakfast with a wide selection. Francesco, Giuseppe, and Roberta provided outstanding service at the front desk! Transportation available on request to Ercolano train station (to Naples or Pompeii). Easy drive to Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Vesuvius (and Conad Supermarket across the street). Overall a great experience!

The spacious hotel and grounds were stunningly presented with magical Christmas lights among the trees and paths and Vesuvius looming above...a view from our balcony which took our breath away! This was a perfect place to relax and enjoy a little luxury. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were so helpful and welcoming and breakfast, which included typical delicacies of Napoli and variety to suit all tastes, was beautifully presented, and delicious. In late November, understandably, the pool and evening restaurant were closed but staff helpfully suggested nearby restaurants after our day visits to spectacular Pompeii and Ercolano, both just a short drive away. It seems to us this beautiful hotel and excellent staff offer the same luxury, attention to detail and welcome to everyone, whether individuals, couples, families or large wedding parties! This was the perfect place to end our holiday around southern Italy.

Details on Expedia for this hotel were incorrect. Details said that this hotel had a restaurant and bar. This was the main reason we booked this hotel. On arrival when we realized that most of the hotel was shut down, we decided to leave and book another hotel elsewhere. Although they updated the Expedia profile within an hour of us complaining they refused to acknowledge their mistake and never apologized. When we asked for a refund for the 3 nights we booked (which we never stayed) they refused and said they weren’t responsible for the details that are on Expedia.

Lots of construction going on at the hotel, most of the hotel is shut down. The area around the hotel is full of traffic and there is no easy way to access any other restaurants or facilities.

Don’t know why they can’t just admit they made a mistake and give us a refund.

We didn’t stay a single night and they charged us for 3 full nights.

This is an oasis in the middle of a busy suburb in Naples. Seemed like crazy crowded all around this place. Great staff, beautiful property, really nice/clean rooms. If you happen to meet Marco the bartender on a slow night ask him to make you one of his specialty drinks. We had him all to ourselves outside on the one night we stayed and we had a ball! Thank you Marco!!!

This is a good 4* hotel that with a few minor tweaks could be a fantastic 5*. It's a beautiful building set in lovely gardens and the pool has a great view of Vesuvius. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the on site restaurant is very good. However minor touches such as no tissues, body lotion, or dressing gowns in the room, shower gel wasn't topped up during our stay, and the decor in the bedroom being a bit tired, let it down. Service at the bar was also very slow with only one server looking after multiple guests. We booked a room with a terrace but it just had a couple of old and damaged bean bags for sitting in the sunshine, a couple of proper loungers would have been much more suitable. The hotel has a free shuttle to Herculaneum at fixed times during the day which are good but you must pre book. The nearby roads are not very pedestrian friendly but we stuck to main roads and walked 20-25 mins to some nearby restaurants, there wasn't much else closer and taxis are expensive. There were weddings at the hotel every day but we didn't find them too intrusive, they usually finished early. Breakfast was very good but didn't open until 7.30am so we had to eat very quickly in order to be out by 8am for our trips. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it as a good base for exploring the area but with a few improvements this could be a really excellent hotel.

What a beautiful place and so well taken care of - we enjoyed our stay immensely! There was a wide variety of breakfast options in the morning, the pool was clean and inviting, the staff was very helpful, the shuttle service to Ercolano train station was helpful to catch the sites! the beds were soft and the rooms were sound proof so well that we felt like we were the only ones there (even though there were multiple wedding parties going, but you would never know!)

The hotel is in beautiful surroundings but they were more focused on the weddings taking place and we had to endure a substandard service with lots of loud music and noise until late into the night and then fireworks. Had to ask the cleaners to clean the room and they were not happy. Expected a lot more for paying so much for this hotel. Breakfast was limited and staff were not the most helpful.

Absolutely excellent stay! This hotel is gorgeous, a beautiful grand building set in beautiful grounds, with the added benefit of having Mount Vesuvius as the backdrop. The location of hotel is brilliant for Pompeii, Herculaneum, Mount Vesuvius, Naples, Sorrento, Salerno etc, and the regular shuttle to and from Ercolano train station was very welcome.
We were made welcome from our first step into and last step out of the hotel. The reception staff, Giuseppe (shuttle driver) and restaurant staff were absolutely awesome, very helpful, friendly, professional, happy and accommodating. One of our best holidays ever! Highly recommended !

Difficult to be scathing in these challenging times but goodness! This was our first ‘Agri-hotel’, completely let down by inefficiency and incompetence, exemplified by being charged twice for our short trip.

On the plus side, the setting is beautiful just under the mountain and v handy for Ercolano experience. Staff such as the shuttle driver into town and the friendly pool attendant were super but the service at breakfast was beyond parody and became almost comical - how surly and unhelpful can one waiter be?

On the first floor bar which wasn’t ready at 19:30 even through open at 7pm (& we were sent up by reception) provided a small plate of snacks even though we didn’t order any but then proceeded to provide us with five more (sandwiches etc) which were completely surplus to requirements and obviously charged to our room.

This is a wedding venue, make no mistake about it, and paying hotel guests are an after thought, not a priority. Examples being mini-bar empty on arrival “only available on request”; no ice in mini-bar for 3 days despite asking for it; broken dehumidifier not fixed despite asking for it; paper cups in room taken away on day 2 & not replaced.

The much praised breakfast consists of porridge, scrambled eggs, bacon &/or grilled vegetables. Not exactly top notch eating for a B&B at £150 per night.

Underwhelming is putting it mildly. Disastrous, more honestly

Unbelievably beautiful property. Very comfortable rooms and beds. Great food. Exceptional staff. I wish I would have had my wedding here! Pompeii and Herculaneum are fairly close. It's best if you have a rental car as this makes Naples and the Amalfi Coast accessible day trips. Otherwise, you can still take a taxi or train to Naples, but it's probably 45 minutes

Once you enter this resort it's a little piece of heaven and a great place to relax and enjoy some pool time for a few days. The staff and service are very nice and professional. The hotel and the rooms are very clean and comfortable.

However, there are a lot of issues with staying in this area: For getting in and out of the resort you are dependent on a taxi service. There are 2 issues with that: 1-availability and 2-prices. For the first few days I was able to use my Uber app and was able to get around. During the weekend Uber was not available at all. Then you need to work with the hotel for a taxi option. Getting a taxi to a 15 min walking distance place is 15 Euros. Getting to Napoli is around 40Euros or so. To the airport it's 60Euros. So make sure you account for that.

Food options: the food at the resort is excellent. But if you wanted to go out and explore options you may need a cab or if you are adventurous you can walk but it's not a very walking friendly area.

Surrounding area: The surrounding area of the hotel is hard to walk and full off trash every where. I'm not sure what the trash situation is in south Italy but it is EVERYWHERE. So the moment you get out of the resort be prepared to experience a severe contrast.

In summary -while the resort is dreamy I wouldn't spend more than a few days just to relax here.

Downside is the area outside the resort especially whilst walking to Herculaneum is dirty, run down with litter all over the place.

We stayed in this accommodation as it was close to Vesuvius, and Herculaneum which we both planned on seeing! It was a very clean, modern structure of hotel and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our only complaint would be the noise around us from the weddings and parties being hosted inside the hotel late at night, so if you are a light sleeper make sure you let reception know! The location for food restaurants near by wasn’t ideal and we couldn’t walk there because it was too far, there is a restaurant within the hotel, and though very fancy, the portions are small and there weren’t many kids options! The staff were very helpful with the complication of the lights in the rooms, which takes a while to understand but you get used to it. The pool is perfect and the nature surrounding the hotel is stunning! We would definitely come to stay here again!

TLDR: Very nice hotel, nice views of Vesuvius and the bay, a bit of a walk to the nearest Supermarket / restaurants but still achievable. As a whole the hotel was fancier than we were expecting (not a bad thing!) The staff were very friendly and helpful and all spoke English well. We used the free shuttle to Herculanium (Ercolarno) most days and caught the train to our final detination, very useful. We did more walking around the area than I think most clients, the area was sparse but there was a useful supermarket a 15 minute walk away and a good selection of restaurants and other shops approximately 30 mins walk in San Giorgio a Cremano. A number of weddings were hosted there during our 8 day stay but there was little interference other than the fireworks that went of before bed time (was actually quite romantic to watch from our window). I would strongly reccommend paying the little extra for a view of vesuvius as you also get a view of the gardens.

Grand imposing hotel set back from a busy main road in fabulous' well maintained, grounds. Classical outside but modern Italian design inside. My visit was out-of-season so sadly the pool and restaurant were not open. My room was a single but sill spacious and well equipped. The staff are attentive and courteous. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to Ercolano Pavi Station and the ruins.

We picked Il San Cristoforo at the last minute to stay one night in order to see the Pompei sites and then fly from Naples the following morning. I am very happy we chose to stay here. They had a courtesy shuttle to/from the train station where we were able to get to Pompei. The staff was very accommodating. Francesco was very helpful arranging transportation to a restaurant and the airport the next day. He even offered to mail our postcards for us on his way home. The hotel and grounds are immaculate. We hope to return.

Amazing staff & pool but make sure you have a car!

The three key things for us on this holiday were to have a small boutique hotel where staff were attentive, the pool was big and quiet and we breakfast was delicious. In this respect, Il San Cristoforo was a complete success. All the staff (especially Ezio on Reception!) were incredibly professional and helpful and the pool/grounds in general are just stunning. It's really beautiful. The breakfast selection was vast with quality ingredients and the woman who ran it was really charming.

The downside was a simple one - location. The surrounding area is just not nice at all. There's hardly any pedestrian space by the roads, there's loads of broken glass everywhere and randomly seems to be a hot-spot for barking dogs. It's a real contrast to the calmness of the hotel.

The hotel are very open about this, which is appreciated, but you really are limited with where you can go unless you have a car as taxis are rare and so expensive.

The hotel does offer a shuttle to Herculaneum station, which can get you to Pompeii/Naples/other areas, but these shuttles are not frequent.

If you do eat locally, I would definitely visit Pizzeria Trattoria La Dea. 15 minute walk from the hotel and a hidden gem. The cocktails at Roof Garden - Lounge Bar are great at sunset too.

Also, be mindful that the hotel host a LOT of weddings...lovely to see, but they dominate the hotel in the evening.

A hidden gem.

This is a beautiful hotel. A golf buggy takes you from the car park down to the front entrance and you are greeted by an impressive building in beautiful grounds. This hotel far exceeded my expectations. Very helpful reception staff, lovely swimming pool. A highlight was the dinner I had in the hotel restaurant, one of the best meals I had on my holiday. Highly recommended

A beautiful place in lovely grounds. Nice pool. Excellent service from most of the team. A few things to note: there were weddings every day and they go on till quite late at night. It would have been good to be advised about these. The shuttle to the train station only runs a few times a day and the last one is at 6pm. There isn’t really a bar area other than the lobby lounge which is a shame given the setting. And there isn’t much to do once the pool closes. Taxis in Italy are extremely expensive. We felt this limited our freedom to explore. Found a great restaurant in the local town (about 15 mins walk). We were happy to have stayed here instead of central Naples.

Such a beautiful hotel in gorgeous surroundings. Great pool and tasty food at Line restaurant. Hotel staff are so friendly and really helpful. There is a shuttle to take you to Ercolano (Herculaneum) station or site which is then easy access to pompeii/sorrento. Note there isn’t anywhere to ‘wonder’ out and about near the hotel but for a 2 night stay, that didn’t matter to us because we were happy to stay on site in the evenings after exploring during the day.

My only grumble is the taxi from the airport. It’s expensive (€50 euros for what should only be a 15 min drive). I was annoyed because at 11pm, I had expected a private taxi but in fact, the taxi company (which operates separately from the hotel by the way) arranged a share transfer because one of their other taxis has broken down. The other couple were taken to their hotel first and then on to ours. Yes only an extra 15 mins but it doubled the journey time (with a tired and grumpy toddler) and then they still insisted on me paying full price. I just felt ripped off which is not a nice first impression when arriving in Italy. My tip would be to book independent transfers or make sure the hotel confirm it is a private transfer for the price.

Me nd my Husband had such an amazing time at San Cristoforo felt like a honeymoon, the property is very well kept nd the rooms are very luxurious nd we also had the vesivius View which was amazing. Overall it felt like a palace, staff was very friendly nd helpful, also the breakfast nd dinner beyond delicious nd very romantic dinner. Outside the property only has few places u can eat and best spot was the Rooftop lounge. Thank you will definitely visit again!!!

Amazing Place and Service, Top Notch Resort

Il San Cristoforo was absolutely beautiful and sparkling clean. We even received a free upgrade to a room with the most picturesque view of Vesusius. But the best part about the stay was the service; we're really grateful to Ezio and Francesco for their service, recommendations and hospitality. Ezio also went the extra mile to helping us with sorting out our autostrade fine, so that we could have a peace of mind during our stay in Naples. Thank you!

Wonderful stay! We were here for 4 nights. The hotel was beyond our expectations. Staff was great, everyone made us feel we were VIP’s. Room was large and very comfortable. A full view of MT Vesuvius from our balcony. Breakfast was very satisfying and dinner at the Line Restaurant on sight was a gourmet experience. One of the best stays my wife and I have made.

The hotel is set in a stunning garden with a view of mount vesuvius. The staff go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. Etzeo was happy to help with tour bookings, driver bookings and even found us a beautiful wine tasting and lunch last minute for a rainy day. The beds are comfortable and the room cozy. We ate at the Line resturant on property and the food and service were 5 star quality! We loved our stay!

Very Clean, modern with all the amenities thought of. Would recommend if looking for somewhere near Naples and Herculaneum. Ezio at reception deserves a special mention going out of his way when we didn’t have an adapter and lending us his personal phone charger.

Incredibly stylish building, sparklingly clean and sharp Italian desigh, beautiful lush gardens (the photo doesn't do them justice!) and an amazing pool that was a godsend to come home to at the end of a hot day in Ercolano. The staff were really friendly and very proud of their hotel (not surprising when you see from the photos how they've transformed it from a derelict 50s villa). We loved breakfast by the pool and sunset on the roof terrace - a jewel of a space among the traffic-clogged roads of Naples.

The property looks like an old manor, but that as reconstructed into this century. rooms are pretty wide, bathroom very comfortable, and the staff is incredibly nice and helpful (our flight lost our luggage and they took charge of it without us asking).
I didnt like that for lunch they only have the pool snack bar, and the menu is very light and simple for a lunch. Only salads, sandwiches
and things like that.

I'd definitely recommend this hotel for relaxing away from the centre, but still having interesting things to do sooooo close!

Lovely hotel in beautiful grounds

The hotel is beautiful and in lovely grounds. The rooms were very modern and well equipped. The swimming pool area is also fab.

The only downsides are that the local area isn’t fantastic - there is rubbish everywhere! It’s possible to walk into the nearest town in about 20 minutes but there isn’t a pavement consistently on the way.

We also stayed as part of our honeymoon and hoped we’d at least get a congratulations from the staff but unfortunately it wasn’t acknowledged in anyway.

It was a lovely hotel though and very well maintained. Perfect for a few days of relaxation.

Nice place, great garden, clean rooms, friendly staff. The only downside was the wedding that endup at 1 AM, fortunately we found in the room ear plugs, which helped. Overall an interesting experience, once inside their walls.

We had a lovely stay. The rooms were large and comfy. The entire staff was GREAT! We used Emillo the taxi driver a lot when we were there, he was always on time and very curtious. It is a little out of the way but worth it. The location is about 12-14 minutes to Herculaneum. The Line Restuarant was very good. So good we ate there twice.

Oasis of calm

This is a wonderful oasis of calm in this area. The service and staff are excellent, rooms comfy, pool area fabulous and lovely gardens. If you want somewhere handy for Herculaneum and Pompeii then this is the place to be.

Primarily a beautiful wedding and conference venue that also offers some hotel features. Spacious rooms, very comfy bed, excellent bathroom facilities, sound proof room. Good breakfast with nice variety to suit most tastes. Very helpful and congenial staff ( with one exception). Very sophisticated restaurant on site with prices to match. The one downside for average tourists here is the location. A 10 minute taxi ride from Ercolano centre and station. The free shuttlebus helps but only for specific times ( morning Out and afternoon pickups in town). The hotel is also located in a very scruffy part of town..

Very disappointed with Francesco ( despite the raving reviews which I found misleading ), a total rip off and condescending receptionist.
The property is an understatement to itself.
Nestled between a cemetery and an industrial estate we did not expect much. But ...
I was asked to pay 100EUR to have windows ( by Francisco ) not covered by obscured film. Seriously?

This property is very unique, like a lovely oasis on the edge of a chaotic city. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful and quiet. Security is excellent, and the food is fantastic. Our party of four/two couples opted for the chef's tasting menu at dinner, and we were not disappointed. The next morning we were treated to an amazing breakfast buffet with more chef made pastries than I could possibly try.
The rooms were large and spacious with a clean contemporary vibe, and both rooms had a small balcony overlooking the grounds and Mount Vesuvius.

Amazing Jewel, if you’re looking for a super fancy hotel at the best price it can’t get better than this.
Is like paradise, close to everything...Naples, Ercolano, Pompeii, Vesuvio, Sorrento.
Staff very attentive and the restaurant is a must!

Will stay here every time I’m close to Napoli.
