This place is class on every level…from the room cleanliness, to fresh baked cookies in the evening, to the delicious breakfast, to the informative host. But what sets it above all others is the evening’s piano event which should not be missed. We had a 3 night stay and we hope to return.

We enjoyed a 3 night stay at this beautiful property in early September. We walked up the hill from the ferry to a warm welcome from Farhad who gave us an overview of the property, what to expect form our stay, tips on seeing the island, and restaurant recommendations. He then led us to our room, the charming Garden Suite.
The property is lovely with a beautiful garden, a gazebo and front porch to relax.
All of the guests gather for a delicious full breakfast at 8:30, cooked and served by Farhad using fresh ingredients from the garden and eggs from the resident hens.
Fresh cookies are delivered to each room around 7 PM, delicious Farhad also plays piano for his guests at 7:30 each night. Our schedule did not allow for attendance every night, but we thoroughly enjoyed the music when we were able to make it. He even has a harpsichord which he demonstrated and was a real treat.
The location is walking distance to countless restaurants, shops, whale watching and adventure companies, rental cars and more. Note the property is a block or 2 up the hill from town, so might not be walkable for some.

Everything about this B&B is outstanding. Large room with a beautiful deck. The bed was an extra large comfortable king. Leather reclining chair. Delicious daily breakfast with eggs and fruit from the garden. As a bonus in the evening the owner played the piano for entertainment. Restaurants and town very close by. We highly recommend this property.

Wow, Farhad really does a good job. This is a nice BnB close to the Friday harbor ferry. Rooms are nice and the owner is a gem. He plays classical piano in the evening and makes farm-to-table breakfast using his backyard garden and 250 year old sour dough starter. We had a great time!

We enjoyed our stay. Farhad was an excellent host. He prepared and served delicious breakfast with ingredients from his garden. Also treated the guests with freshly baked cookies every afternoon, and an hour of his piano and wine soirée in the evening.

A comfortable stay, walking distance from everything to do in Friday Harbor - no need to bring your car! Breakfast was plentiful and tasty - all vegetarian and mostly gluten-free.

There's not a staffed front desk, so if your travel plans change, be sure to reach out to Farhad. Piano concerts were at 7:30pm every night, so we did not get to take advantage due to dinner reservations.

What an extremely pleasant stay at the historic Friday Harbor Grand. The room was spacious, the beds were dreamy and we had a complete mini-kitchen. The proprietors were most gracious, helpful and knowledgeable about the area and things to do. The gourmet breakfasts were amazing and the owner catered to my husband's many dietary needs. In fact, they bake, cook and prepare everything on site, featuring many gluten-free items. The owner's concert-level pianist evening soiree with wine was lovely and the warm, home-made cookies capped it all off every evening. I would highly recommend the Grand and will stay here again when we return.

This was my friend and mines first time ever staying in a bed-and-breakfast, and it was phenomenal. The owner was very very accommodating. The grounds were beautiful and the food was all homemade and delicious. So much less stressful then staying in a hotel. Who new? Would definitely stay there again.

We loved our stay at Friday Harbor Grand Bed and Breakfast. Mr. Farhad Ghatan is an excellent and knowledgeable host. His recommendations for restaurants and activities are on point. The breakfast is not only delicious but healthy as well. Fresh eggs from the on property chickens fixed with fresh vegetables, as well as a selection of fresh fruit and homemade breads.
We had our own private suite and enjoyed our stay very much! The location is very convenient to downtown Friday Harbor. If you have a chance have a slice of pizza at Bakery San Juan, it is the best pizza we have ever eaten.

Whale Watching Get Away

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Friday Harbor Grand B&B. The service was great. We arrived in Friday Harbor in the morning and were able to store our bags until Check-in that afternoon. Everything you need is in walking distance. The room was clean, comfortable, quiet, and has both heating and air conditioning. Breakfast was beautiful, delicious, and served with a smile at a lovely set table. We will definitely be back for another stay. Thank you Trish and Farhad for taking good care of us.

We are not typical B&B customers, but we were hoping for more. The pillows were not great making for a bad nights sleep. Breakfast while yummy to some was gluten free with very particular flavors. We left both days to get breakfast elsewhere.

The owner could not be more nice or welcoming. His recommendation for dinner was amazing and one our favorite meals of our extended PNW trip. The room was spacious and the location was good for being able to walk to everything in Friday Harbor.

Beautiful Friday Harbor

We totally enjoyed our stay close to town and quiet at night. We appreciated the clean well appointed room and tasty hot breakfasts. The owner was an extremely talented pianist who played nightly to entertain any guests who wanted to attend. He also was a wonderful chef preparing gluten free dishes. Delightful fresh flowers grown on site we’re everywhere.

When we arrived we were greeted and told to come inside but when asked if we were vaccinated and we said no, we were sent outside. We were then told by the owner that they were going to have live piano music in the house but we were not invited. He told us that we might be able to hear it through the walls from our room. All in all it was ok. They should really post something on their website to state their new rules on COVID instead of customers learning of it when they arrive!

Incredible! The owner makes the experience unique. Gourmet breakfast with his own recipes. Cookies and wine in the common room each evening, while he plays classical music on the piano, and he's excellent. He's also the mayor of the city! Service includes doing all the dishes in your kitchenette. Absolutely remarkable stay. Not to be missed!

Lovely b&b -easy to walk downtown or to restaurants. The only odd thing is the piano music played by the host from 730-830. He’s very good but it’s right in the middle of dinner reservations. He seems a little miffed if you miss hearing him play. Also, it’s an uphill walk from the ferry-not easy ( as advertised) when you’re pulling a suitcase. We would stay here again-and get the sunshine suite-amazing bathroom.

This B&B was a great place to stay in Friday Harbor. The host was friendly and very helpful with suggestions on where to visit and where to go eat. We unfortunately missed out on the piano concert, but the fresh cookies and heart healthy breakfast were great! The room was comfortable and clean. It was great to have a place that was so nice that we could have the dog with us too. Overall, I would definitely stay at the Friday Harbor Grand again!

One of the BEST B&Bs I’ve ever stayed at and I’ve been traveling for 25 years. Hospitality that could rival even the most gracious Southern homes. Farhad texted me re arrival plans, was able to let me check in early, and greeted me with a friendly smile and carried my bags upstairs. The room was huge, nicely decorated and had fresh flowers and everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay (Keurig, coffee, tea, glass stemware, dinnerware, and silverware, fridge, robes- etc!). He was super accommodating with breakfast- offered to serve late as I wasn’t there in the early morning - and delivered it to my room on a tray since Covid restrictions prevent everyone dining together. He also specializes in farm to table dining and grows his own veggies snd fruits and has chickens laying eggs! All food is gluten free and was delicious! He served GF cookies in the evening and then has a Covid compliant happy hour in the evenings with wine and even plays the piano for an hour! One of my favorite things about this home is the wrap around front deck and table top fireplace for relaxing after a long day of excursions. The home is within walking distance to all Friday Harbor has to offer. Farhad was over the top accommodating in every way. Truly much more than a place to stay- a lovely experience:). Treat yourself- you won’t regret it!!!!!

Our experience at Friday Harbor Grand B&B was above and beyond our expectations! Our room was beautiful, clean, cozy and located on such a pretty piece of property, and very close to all the shops and restaurants. The owner is a wonderful, gracious man and also an amazing chef, making us delicious breakfasts every morning. We definitely plan on staying here again on our next visit and we highly recommend it to others.

We have stayed here before, and as usual the property and breakfasts were excellent. A number of restaurants and businesses on the island are still closed, and there seem to be fewer visitors (on a warm spring weekend), but hopefully things will improve for the folks who provide accommodations and services.

B&B Gem in Friday Harbor

Can't say enough about our trip to Friday Harbor Grand. My boyfriend and I planned a last minute trip up to San Juan Island; we were so excited that Friday Harbor Grand was available. Based on the review, our experience did not disappoint. Farhad, the owner, was very welcoming. We enjoyed wine out on the patio in the evening and the most delicious breakfast on our last day there. The house has a lovely garden with fresh produce and a chicken coup. We had strawberries, eggs and other vegetables from Farhad's harvest in our breakfast. Overall, it was a great experience - couldn't recommend it enough. We will be back!

Our stay was stellar, the accommodations were super comfortable, and every detail was thought through. The beds were awesome, The unique breakfast and snacks made from ingredients in Farhad's garden were lovely, and anything we could have needed was there! The kitchen was well appointed with all the things we needed to make a day pack picnic lunch, and the piano concerts each evening were an enriching cultural addition to our stay. It's a perfect place to stay in all regards. I'm usually not a big fan of B&B's, but my wife is. Well, this experience exceeded my expectations and made me want to come back. The owner has mastered the art of customer service and making your experience unique. With fresh-cut flowers, fresh baked cookies, a little piano background music, and breakfast using the best of the property's organic garden, there was a pleasant surprise each day. You will have privacy, appreciate the modern amenities in a cozy place and feel relaxed every minute of your trip. It's a simple 5-minute walk to downtown Friday Harbor, too.

The room was very nice. The breakfasts were awesome. The owner is very pleasant andca gifted pianist. His evening performances for the \"happy hour\" is an added bonus that I have not found in my experiences as a seasoned traveler.

Definitely will recommend this place to all my friends.
