The cabins are so beautiful and super clean. They have so many amenities and the full kitchen is great for cooking if you want to. Love the fireplace and outdoor grill as well. I prefer to stay here where it’s quiet away from Friday harbor. But if I want to go into town, it’s less than a 15 min drive. This is my second time staying and will be back again for sure.

We loved this place from the moment we pulled up. The grounds are so well kept and the view is beautiful! Our cabin was clean, cute and spacious. I was actually surprised on how supplied the kitchen was, and wished I would’ve planned accordingly to cook a few small meals there. The closest restaurant is about 15 minutes away. This Harbor is so beautiful and fun to watch the resident Harbor seals and all the birds. This was our first trip to the island and it was so fun to find such a little treasure. We will definitely be back someday.

The cabins are amazing and have great views of the harbor. We woke up to see deer grazing and spent the evenings watching the seals swim around as the grey herons flew around. The cabins are clean and warm. They have a solid kitchen set up, just bring your own spices and oil to cook with. We used our BBQ both nights, using foil we brought for easy clean up. Beds were decent and several pillows provided for nesting. They have puzzles, games, movies to borrow in the gift shop. Just be sure to grab them early before the office closes, they close early (5pm). We did late check in and it was easy to follow. The property is beautiful and we hated to leave. The TV's are small and no streaming set up, but we were staring out the windows anyways as we put together a puzzle.

Modern clean cabins near the water. Immaculate grounds and marina. Quiet calming vibe at this wonderful resort. Full disclosure our stay just a Sunday and Monday night in April. I'm sure there is a bit more noise and activity during peak summertime visits at this beautiful resort. Good parking near beach front cabins. Bring provisions if you don't want to drive 20 minutes each way for eats. Cabins have a fully functional kitchen plus an outside gas grill. A beautiful spot. Can't wait to visit again.

Our family was lucky enough to stay at Snug Harbor during April of 2026. We loved it so much we are planning on going back next year. The staff went out of their way to help us get checked in, made us feel comfortable and even made us coffee. Everything you need is right here on property. The cabins are very comfortable.

We checked in on a day when the entire area was without power. While it would be unfair to blame the resort for the outage itself, the lack of communication was unacceptable. The outage began at 8:00 AM, yet we received no updates prior to our 3:30 PM arrival.
Upon check-in, the staff provided the bare minimum: instructions on how to operate the one functioning heater. We had to return to the lobby ourselves to ask basic questions, such as whether there would be hot water (there wasn't) or how to light the room (we were told to find a small lantern under the sink).
The front desk staff were discouraging and cold; there were no apologies, no proactive guidance, and no ETAs. It felt as though we were an inconvenience for asking for help. While power was eventually restored thanks to PSE, the resort’s \"you're on your own\" attitude made us seriously consider leaving. Based on this experience, I have no confidence that the management would have offered any support or compensation had the outage continued.

I am rating it 3 instead of 0 is only because the other front desk young lady was nice and kind to us on the following day to help us setting up kayaking, and this has been the only positive experience we have had during our stay.

Snug Harbor resort was amazing for a weekend gateway for our family of 3. We chose the two bedroom cabin, with a queen bed and 2 twin beds. The cabin was ready when we arrived. Check-in was quick and hassle free. The cabin was clean, with ample parking space nearby. The bed linen and bath linen smelled clean and they had even provided extra bath linen. They do have a coffee shop and a small grocery store to buy essentials. The cabins overlook the marina, where you can also do kayaking. The ambience was great 👍. The only con was that the resort is on the western side of the island, a 15 min drive from Friday Harbor ferry terminal and all the popular restaurants. Overall, a great experience for us. Definitely recommend.

As always Snug Harbor exceeded our already high expectations. Our suite was exceptionally clean (amongst the best we've ever seen), the property is an absolute gem in its location, and it is so peacefully quiet. The only thing better than staying at Snug Harbor would be to buy waterfront property on Mitchell Bay. The staff remain some of the friendliest people we've met and genuinely seem happy to be there. There is nothing we would change about Snug Harbor.

We stayed at 2 beautiful waterfront cabins and enjoyed every minute of it. My sister had a walker and it was easy for her to navigate. Our cabins were clean and nicely appointed and had everything we needed for our stay. Our beds were comfortable. They provide a recycle bin. They provide their special Fidalgo Coffee roast and a FULLSIZED coffee maker which we greatly appreciated ;-) Outstanding customer service was the icing on the cake. We enjoyed freshly baked cinnamon rolls in the morning at their coffeeshop. Super welcoming, kind, and helpful staff. We want to come back here this summer to kayak (which the resorts offers as a guest amenity) and to whale watch (just short drive to beautiful Lime Kiln State Park). We definitely recommend Snug Harbor Resort and look forward to our next visit.

We really enjoyed our stay in 2 bed rooms cabin. We wanted a quiet location so we avoided Friday Harbor area. The cabin was warm and cozy, and every item was carefully selected.

The weather was not the best but mild enough to escape from heavy rains in Seattle area. We would revisit this resort one day during a great season.

I’ve stayed at Snug Harbor Marina and Resort multiple times now, and each visit reminds me why I keep coming back. The cabins are always exceptionally clean and very well appointed—everything feels thoughtfully maintained and genuinely comfortable.

The location on the island is perfect: quiet, scenic, and a great base for exploring. The views from the property are beautiful any time of day, but the real magic comes at night. The dark sky here makes for incredible stargazing—something you rarely find at most resorts.

Overall, it’s one of my favorite places to stay, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Snug Harbor resort was a nice place to call home while we explored the island. The harbor view cabin we stayed in was private and comfortable (20). It had everything you'd expect in the kitchenette. My only criticism would be water pressure in the shower. Definitely would recommend to friends and we will be back.

The resort provided seclusion and calm with beautiful landscaping, just what we were looking for on this trip. We had our own cabin with a great view of the harbor. There is electric car charging available which was a pleasant surprise. The path lights to our cabin were lacking and was the only concern we had getting around at night.

Snug Harbor is a wonderful small resort with only about 20 units is set between the forest and the bay. It is so quiet and relaxing with beautiful views.
The units are very well kept and have all the necessary amenities. The property is not particularly walkable or bikeable to anywhere but with a car you can get to nearly anywhere on the island within 20 min.
We stayed for four nights in July and enjoyed ourselves immensely. If we visit San Juan again we will definitely stay at Snug Harbor.

I stayed here solo for four nights. It is a very very peaceful place and quiet location. Perfect for quiet stays. I stayed in the waterfront cabins on the same level as the little lobby. I will say that one thing that was a bit uncomfortable was the fact that the big windows on these waterfront cabins look onto the water but also onto the sidewalk where guests walk to the dock. My cabin (cabin 4) was closest to the lobby and directly in front of the walkway where people gathered to go kayaking. It was a bit u comfortable having people just right there in front of my window. I couldn't close the blinds because then it would be too dark in the cabin. My suggestion would be to install some light filtering shades that can be pulled dow from the top to still let light in but give people privacy. The cabins are very comfortable and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The lighting in the cabins isn't great but not a big deal! Overall I would recommend this place for anyone looking for quiet and beautiful!

Far exceeded expectations! Brandy, Janis and Kiley are indeed exceptional! Kiley in particular shared the history of Snug Harbor and offered hiking, dining, and exploration suggestions all of which turned out spot on! More importantly, she was sincere and professional. We had to ask ourselves, “Is there anything she doesn’t know.” Landscaping is beautiful and expected in 5 Star locations and Snug Harbor Resort is.

We can’t stop talking about how much we loved our stay here! The resort is lovely across the board with adorable cozy cabins, lots of amenities, and a stunning location. The check in process was smooth and staff were kind and informative. Our cabin was very comfortable - there was enough space to cook and stretch out on the couch, and the view was wonderful. They provide lots of great information about local history and attractions. Best of all is how quiet it is. You can catch great sunsets from the dock, watch seals play in the water, and truly feel like you’ve made it to PNW paradise.
