The location was absolutely perfect, the view amazing, and the buildings had a ton of character. Don’t expect luxury amenities and be aware that there is noise from the highway below. Despite this we loved the Peruvian feel of the accommodations and the lovely staff. In our room, we had to go up a set of stairs to the bathroom so be careful if you have mobility impairment.

Second Home Peru is a unique hotel full of original artwork, with wonderful sea views and charming staff. The location could not be better, on a quiet alley in the heart of the charming Barranco neighborhood. Easy access to many restaurants, coffee shops, parks, and the beach.

I enjoyed my stay at second home. Beautiful art gallery/boutique hotel. Mr. Louis is a great host. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. Great balcony view for watching the sunset. Comfy bed. Decent wifi. The breakfast was good. Only issue is the hot water was a bit hit and miss, especially in the morning. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend

This is a very special bed-and-breakfast. Fabulous grounds with a view of the Pacific. The main house is filled with interesting artwork, by the owner who is a renowned artist and the staff couldn’t be nicer. We will definitely return.

We loved staying at second home on our honeymoon!! Room was spacious and clean with a beautiful view of the yard and ocean. The property was unique - lovely art all over the property and inside the home. Several areas on the property to sit and relax with an ocean view. The pool was also amazing! The breakfast included in our stay was excellent as well.
Location was also great. We could walk to the beach and a few of the key sites we wanted to see while in Lima.
I would highly recommend Second Home for your stay in Lima!

I booked the hotel as we wanted a hotel with a swimming pool . When we arrived , we was advised the pool was closed for maintenance .
The hotel is traditional . Not worth the money . At the beginning of our trip we stayed in a hotel round the corner which was much nicer at the same price .

I have been raving about this hotel since we left. This is much, more than a hotel - it’s a museum. The hotel is owned by Victor Delfin’s son and daughter. They are constantly present and an integral part of the day to day care of the property. They serve the breakfast in the morning.
The room we had was Mirador 3 it was huge. It had a downstairs and upstairs where the bathroom was with a nice shower/bathtub. You could see a glimpse of the ocean while in the bathtub. It had a little balcony that overlooked the Pacific Ocean.. From the balcony we could see Victor’s studio. Victor’s assistant was working on a sculpture and we watched him while he worked. The grounds are beautiful and filled with paintings and sculptures by Victor Delfin. Victor is such a famous artist and sculptor. People visit the property because his work is on display. His son, Carlos will give you a tour of his studio as he did for us. Victor came out while we were there and talked to us. He is 97 years old.
We loved the location of the hotel. There were many restaurants nearby and the main park nearby. There is one restaurant called insolina. They have a dish called Lomo Saltado that is sooooo delicious. All their food is exceprional. It is on the same street as Second home Peru..
The Barranco neighborhood was beautiful and safe. We walked the streets, stopped in at bars for a glass of wine, talked to the friendly local people.
I can’t say enough about our stay there.

It’s a wonder place to stay. Perched on top of the cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean just above the Barranco beach. The grounds are kept beautiful and it’s a short lovely walk to the beach. There are several restaurants and coffee shop’s within walking distance. Breakfast is provided with the most delicious rolls that we had on the trip. Victors artwork is on every wall and statues are all around you. Be sure to take the tour of his workshop and hopefully see him in action as we did. We got to meet him and watch him work, it was amazing! Take some ear plugs with you though because the night life nearby can be loud.

Great building and location, service needs refresh

Such a lovely building and the art makes it a very cool place to stay. I think the owners take guests for granted though and the service is tired and a little rude - breakfast is 3 bread rolls and jam, plus a little egg and bacon, but it’s exactly the same every day. I don’t understand why the owners don’t put a bit more effort into this. The owners also have extremely loud conversations over you, whilst eating - including booming voices from the kitchen (they don’t close the door) and they sometimes shout at each other across you as though you are not there. Front desk staff great, very helpful and friendly, but I think the owners take guests for granted and don’t really try to make them feel welcome

Great building and decor and the front office staff are really helpful. The hotel lets itself down with a very basic breakfast, which is the same bread and jam plus a bit of egg, cheese and fatty bacon - which is exactly the same every day. It was really dull after 5 days. The other issue at breakfast is the staff (which I think are the owners) - they shout at each other across you and there is no door to the kitchen so when they do the same in kitchen it booms through to the dining area and completely spoils the tranquil setting and music they put on. I get the feeling they have become a little lazy with customer service

We stayed in the apartment with a living room, kitchen, bedroom, and two balconies with incredible views of the surf and coastline. The artwork of Victor Delfin is incredible. The staff is so friendly and helpful in every way. The bohemian Barranco neighborhood is the best in Lima. Highly recommended!!

A former artist studio and home converted into a hotel. Has a spectacular ocean view, super-clean, friendly staff, great breakfast (it's more substantial than \"continental\" fare), comfortable rooms, and a space so inviting we were tempted to forego sightseeing and just stay at the hotel all day. They offer rides to/from airport (for an additional, reasonable fee). Very much for those more interested in perusing the fascinating art collection, quirky interior design, and unique grounds than having a conventional hotel experience. Felt like I was going back in time 100 years—in a good way!

A gem of a BnB in the fantastic neighborhood. Super close to the Malecon for wonderful sunset walks! Just out of Miraflores which softens the crush of the city. It was a wonderful art filled sanctuary with fantastic views and the most helpful staff. An absolutely amazing place!

The room, location, price, and art on the property was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel but would not rely on the continental breakfast (plenty of nearby cafes). Coffee was bad. Service was responsive when requested but sort of absent otherwise. Overall, the room (including patio) and view made the stay fantastic.

Oasis of art and nature facing ocean in Barranco

The place is absolutely unique. The ocean view is breath taking, the garden is filled with sculptures, the rooms are large and renovated. Given it is an old house, the noise can travel well from one room to the other, but a 10pm curfew seems respected. Breakfast is very good and cooked for you (eggs, bacon, cheese, fresh fruit and juice). The mattresses would benefit from being replaced. The art pieces and the presence of the artist studio (Victor Delfin) make it a destination of choice. The house is close to all the attractions of the Barranco neighborhood and is an oasis of nature in Lima.

Amazing, huge apartment space - 2 bathrooms, 2 balconies, and gorgeous ocean views. (Be aware there are irregular stairs in the apartment - for us it was no problem at all.) Hot water and heaters. Gorgeous art. Excellent breakfast - made to order eggs, bacon, cheese, fresh bread, coffee/tea, and fresh fruit.

This is an one of a kind property. If you are looking for a unique quirky place to stay in Lima on a cul de sac overlooking the ocean full of art and sculpture, I highly recommend this place. The view of the ocean was amazing. The only disappointment was that Lima has an oceanfront highway all along the coast so you hear the waves and the traffic. But as long as you know that, it's a great place. Barranco neighborhood is full of cafes and nice little restaurants, but pretty low key compared with Miraflores, which I liked.

It's a good looking hotel and the service is good. Word of caution: the rooms facing the ocean are very noisy. Not only is there a constant din from traffic on the road below, but also directly across the street is a club-restaurant that plays high volume music until 2 AM

Fantastic location in Barranco with beautiful ocean views and original art throughout. Quick walk to everything you need. Great customer service, Luis and Enrique were super helpful! My room had a nice ocean view and great air conditioning (very important!). It was pretty minimalist, but the mattress and bedding were super comfortable.

If you’re sensitive to noise and choose an oceanfront room, bring earplugs! The Pacific highway is also right there, and it stays loud and busy until late. The only thing I wish they’d provided is drinking water in the rooms. Oh, and the breakfast was simple but really delicious—one of the best breakfasts on my whole trip. Fresh baked bread for the win!

The house of famous artist Victor Delfin is literally one of a kind.
On the cliffs of Barranco with unobstructed views of the bay of Chorrillos and the Pacific Ocean, unparalleled!!!
Peruvian friends that came to visit with us couldn’t believe it, they are stunned and took pictures to recommend to others.
I’m a Peruvian leaving in California, USA and usually come to visit Lima every year, by far this is the best location to stay around Barranco and Miraflores

Perfect in Every Way

Hands down, one of the best lodging experiences I've ever had. The property is essentially a mansion, and the service was just above and beyond. Super professional, helpful, friendly... and the views! Wow! The area is very walkable, close to lots of points of interest and conveniences, and very safe.
If I ever return to Lima, there is absolutely no question where I'll be staying.
