Beautiful property. The staff were incredible and so kind, friendly and willing to help. The beach was private and we didnt experience any sandflies. The scooter we rented was in great condition. Snorkels and paddleboards were complimentary which was a nice touch. Breakfast was wonderful. The hilltop rooms had beautiful views, the only thing i wish is that there were more hooks in the bathroom to hang towels but they do provide a rack outside. A perfect stay! Thank you to the incredible staff at Mira Montra, we loved our stay here.

the facility is very nice and clean. the beach is very clean as staff clean it twice a day. we booked 2 beach front rooms and 1 hillside room. all the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. this side of the island got wind and bigger waves in the morning, but calm down in the late afternoon. the breakfast was good and got variety of selection. we had one dinner at the hotel. the food was ok. there are many good restaurants nearby, so we decided to try them out. they also hv their own golf cart and scooter for rent. staffs are very friendly and helpful. they even provide coconut oils and mosquito repellent for free at the reception area. there are sea flies on this side of the island. coconut oil helps. it wasn’t fun getting bitten by one. the hotel also has snacks hours which is also free. my mom enjoyed the sandwich and corn dog during snack hours. we really enjoy our time there. highly recommended

It was in a very beautiful setting, but quite a way out of town, so hiring a scooter was preferable. The staff were wonderul, the breakfast really good in a restaurant over looking the beautiful sea.

We stayed in a Hilltop view room, beautiful room, great bathroom and bed, walk out balcony was great to have. Food was good, drink options great. Motor bike rental was easy and a must for the island. View from the lobby restaurant was excellent. Resort provided transportation to and from the pier. All the staff were friendly and very nice. I will stay here again

Great Hotel that cares about its guests

We went to koh mak in the low season (late July 2023). Mira Montra seemed one of the few hotels still fully operational. After exploring the island, it seemed to me also one of the best and best maintained. As most other resorts, it is rather small, which is nice as staff really pay attention to their guests. We had a hilltop room, which gave a partial view of the sea and the bay (some view obstruction because of trees). The hotel is located on the beach, with direct access to the beach and the sea. Guests in \"Beach front\" rooms walk straight onto the beach. The room was very clean, large and comfortable. Good AC, good WIFI everywhere, hot shower all the time etc. Less than one minute walk from the hill-top room to the beach. The hotel offers free peddle boats, free kayaks, free snorkling gear, free games (board games, pingpong), free afternoon tea/coffee. free pick up and drop off at the pier. Scooters for rent at 300 THB per 24 hours. Breakfast is good, with nice (free of charge) choice of coffees and teas. Food (beyond Breakfast) in the restaurant was only so-so. The only downside (and not the hotel's fault!!!) was that I got bitten big time by sandfleas on the beach. This seems to be an overall problem in Koh Mak, but i was told also in neighboring Koh Chang and Koh Kood. I highly recommend the Mira Montra.

Not worth the price paid. Stayed in a beach front villa for two nights and expected luxury. Rooms are looking tired and the toilet leaked from day one and wasn't fixed. The beach is not the best on the island and there was lots and lots of plastic surrounding the property. Nothing around the property so you have to have a bike or get a taxi everywhere. Overall I would say this property is ok, its marketed as a luxury resort but doesn't offer the luxury experience. Poor choice for breakfast and its all served cold as there are no heaters under the pans. It's a shame because we were really looking forward to our stay. I wouldn't return.

These people are thrives, avoid.

Mira Montra is run by a band of thieves who will take your money when you have no way of accessing their hotel.

We booked to stay for a week from 23rd to 31st October 2020. Unfortunately the Thai government withdrew their planned tourist visa scheme, and hence no foreigners were able to come to Thailand (at all).

We asked for a refund as we were prevented from entering the country which the hotel is in. Mira Montra refused to refund us and threatened us with a no-show or cancellation fee.

In addition they gave us only 48 hours to switch the reservation to a future travel voucher (only valid for 6 months and expiring mid-2021 so unlikely to be useable). This was an effort to invalidate the chargeback process. If we had accepted this gambit Mira Montra would keep our money without providing the service we had paid for.

There is a profound dishonesty at the heart of the Mira Montra business. They are dishonest people and this moral corruption affects everything they do.

Please be careful of the following individual who, in our experience, may collude with the business to try to steal from you:

It appears this waywardness and lack of integrity goes right to the top in Thailand, a country which has morally lost its way.

A very unique property literally in the middle of the sea. Truly an experience not to be missed.

The breakfast was average but the dinner food was very good.

Be prepared for bugs in your room, but you get used to that pretty quick.
Sand flies are definitely a problem, take precautions.

I was very impressed with the resort. The seaview room was clean and newly built. The entire resort is very chill chill. The beach is clean and with a sandy bottom. The restaurant had very good meals with good portion size. The buffet breakfast was good. I found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. Fantastic resort if you are looking for a quiet relaxing time.

If you pay premium price for your stay you expect premium service , and I am afriad you at the hotel need to up your game . I think the same family run the hotel , it is quite clear the need at least 2 more staff , service is very slow everything is an effort . One day cancelled food due to a 45 min wait , plus where is the Thai smile . Breakfast need more variety without a doubt , very little choice . Plus points , nice clean accommodation , beach front , would I return !!! , Maybe ,I think I need to do more research on accommodation on the island , there are many lovely hotels I would say for a lower price and check where the hotel is , very important some are very isolated .

The property itself was beautiful. What I was disappointed in was the front desk staff. They didn’t give me the room I paid for, they downgraded us then told us the the property was fully booked. After showing her the room I booked she said ok we will take you to another room. Again it wasn’t what we paid for. I didn’t appreciate being lied to. The wait staff was also tough. We would point to pictures but didn’t get what we asked for. The bungalows are beautiful but didn’t realize Koh Mak had sand flies! The beach is beautiful at this resort but had a really low tide unlike other sides of the islands. I wouldn’t go back to this resort if I came back.

A beautiful place with stunning bay views. Beds very comfortable, room spotless.
Would have liked a separate bar, perhaps on the beach as reception, restaurant and bar are all in the same place. Everything closes at 9pm which we felt was just too early. Easy to get cheap taxis to other bars etc. Friendly staff. 2 nights here, although stunning, was enough to stay on Koh Mak.

A Beautiful place and nice swimming beach. We enjoyed snorkeling, the free kayaks, lounging on the beach and use of the scooter to go into town. The rooms were spacious and nice. My only issue with MiraMontra is the service was awkward, slow and confusing at times. They had the best intentions it seemed but there was always people around the front desk trying to order a drink or food or get into their room or get something figured out. They need to have a tiki bar or separate bar/food service for guests. If they could improve service it would be five stars for sure.

Lovely new resort, still some kinks to work out

Very nice new resort on Koh Mak. Big clean villas, great pool, and excellent food though bit pricey for Thailand. Free use of kayaks and a lovely bay to use them in - though a bit eye opening to look down in the crystal clear water and see millions of giant spiky sea urchins below us; often a sign the nearby reefs aren’t in great shape :( They seem to be making efforts at being sustainable - free distilled water to fill up our bottles in the lobby for example, yet inexplicably they put a completely unnecessary plastic drink stirrer in every drink. Service was well meaning but very stilted and slow for a 4 star resort - we had to flag someone down every time we wanted to order food, book a massage, etc. and the restaurant closes at 830pm?! We were there in low season and there wasn’t enough chairs at the pool, and they’re currently under expansion.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Mira Montra and the lovely Koh Mak; with more efforts at being sustainable on a tiny island and some staff training this place would be incredible.

A little bit of luxury in Koh Mak

Great stay at Mira Montra. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in a fabulous beach front bungalow that looked straight out into the sea. The pool was nice and was barely used by other guests. Breakfast was decent enough and the evening menu was ok. If you’re looking for a bit of luxury on Koh Mak then this is definitely a good option. I’d return for sure.

The rooms are finished to a high standard.

To explore the island we definitely recommend taking the scooters

We had the family villa with 5 adults. The extra bed was a mattress on the floor. A better extra bed, maybe a rollaway bed would be appreciated. Also the housekeeping staff did not make this bed each day which was strange.

A perfect getaway on an island

An amazing 24 hours getaway from the city did open my eyes of what this small island can offer. The only thing i regret from this trip is it was only a night visit and wish to stay longer. The owner runs as a general manager here which makes this smoothen up everything at the resort. The beach front villa is clean, bed is comfortable with outdoor shower and the whole experience that this resort offers make me wanna come back with longer stay.

Mycket trevlig och hjälpsam personal som bokade båtbiljetter mm. Stranden är så fin och vattnet klart. Utsikten från poolen är underbar! Maten lite dyrare på hotellets restaurang men supergod. Jättefräsch frukostbuffé. Vill du chilla och ta det lugnt är detta en perfekt resort! Hur en moppe på hotellet och åk runt ön!

Erittäin mielekäs majoittuminen pienellä saarella. Palvelu ensiluokkaista. Oma ranta sekä loistava uima-allas. Melonta- sekä suppailuvälineitä sai lainata hotellilta. Ruoka oli hyvää, mutta hieman hintavaa yleisesti Thaimaan hintatasoon nähden. Beach front villa oli mahtava sänkyineen. Huoneissa pienet jääkaapit. Hotellilta sai skootterin vuokrattua joten liikkuminen saarella oli helppoa syrjäisestä sijainnista huolimatta.

Wie vielerorts erwähnt gibt es Sandflöhe. Es wird jedoch Kokosöl zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Lagune ist paradiesisch. Nach der Ölmassage hatten wir alle fürchterlichen Ausschlag. Die Massage selbst war gut, aber es wird unhygienisch gearbeitet, für alle Kunden werden die gleichen Tücher benutzt. Das Personal ist herzlich und zuvorkommend.

Tolle Lage an einem der schönsten Strände der Insel mit der Möglichkeit mit dem Kanu zur Insel Koh Kam zu fahren.
Die Zimmer sind ok und sauber, könnten aber mal etwas midernisiert werden.
Das Frühstück hat uns etwas enttäuscht da es doch sehr eintönig ist.
Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett.
Auch toll die Möglichkeit direkt am Hotel einen Roller zu mieten.

Rommene er komfortable og rene, og personalet er vennlig. Maten er helt ok. Det er rent og ryddig. Det negative er at det blåser mye på formiddagen og løyer først på kvelden. Derfor får man ikke benyttet seg av gratis kajakk og sup, som ellers ville vært helt utmerket! Det mest negative er at restauranten stenger kl 21:00, og da får man heller ikke sitte i fellesområdet. Da er man forvist til å gå på rommet sitt og ta kvelden. Man får heller ikke mat mellom 14:00-16:00, da stenger de av hele strømmen på området. Ellers er det rolig og vakkert, og på grunn av den langgrunne stranden er det også mange små barn her.

Wir hatten eigentlich 6 Nächte im Mira Montra gebucht um den 30en Geburtstag meiner Lebensgefährtin schön zu verbringen, nach 3 Nächten sind wir wieder abgereist.

Zimmer waren sauber, wir hatten eines oben auf dem Berg was auch eine schöne Aussicht bot, Safe auch vorhanden. WLAN leider sehr schlecht, daraufhin wurde aber von der Rezeption sofort reagiert und uns wurde ein eigener Router ins Zimmer gestellt daher 2 Sterne beim Service, das Personal war auch sehr bemüht und hatte immer ein Lächeln für einen. Auch einen Roller konnten wir problemlos mieten.

Nun zum für mich etwas bitteren Beigeschmack: Ich wollte für meine Lebensgefährtin zum 30en einen schönen Frühstücks Tisch vorbereiten lassen... Fehlanzeige, ginge angeblich wegen dem Wind auf der Terrasse nicht. Nicht mal eine kleine Kleinigkeit, oder ein schön gemachtes Bett oder Blumen gab es, einfach gar nichts. In jedem All inclusive Bunker aus dem Türkei oder Ägypten katalog bekommt wenigstens irgendeine kleine Geste. Aber hier? Nichts. Wirklich leider schlecht in der Hinsicht.

Strand sehr schön zum anschauen, nur das Problem mit den Sandfliegen/ Flöhen und Moskitos ist wirklich schlimm, ich war oft in Asien aber so dermaßen \"zerstochen\" war ich noch nie, hierfür kann aber das Hotel nichts. Es wird Kokosöl und auch anti Moskito Mittel bereitgestellt, hilft aber nicht viel. Allergiker oder Leute die auf Stiche reagieren sollten trotzdem aufpassen. An sich schöner Ort zum verweilen, das war's aber dann schon

Ok hotel but expensive for what you get

The hotel is ok but it is expensive for what you get. The room was clean and was serviced daily but things like erratic water pressure and a lack of a coffee machine (surprising at this price) spoiled the enjoyment. Some of the staff in the reception were cold and unfriendly although the restaurant staff and hotel drivers were the opposite. Good location, but so do several other hotels on this island. Overall ok but expensive for what is offered.

Nice hotel a bit secluded

It is a nice hotel with a beauteful beach and pool. They help you with all the service you need. They pick you up at the dock and take you to the hotel. The location sina bit secluded. A few kilometers from the restaurants. You can rent a scouter or golfcart. I have sen that they used to have bikes. I wished they still had them. You can bortom a kayak but only use it around the propery. You can’t paddel to the near island. Not sure why you used to be able to do that. The food is good and a beautiful view from the restaurant.
