A little bit of paradise

Amazing experience from start to finish. Beautiful, tranquil property with stunning grounds and a veranda to watch spectacular sunsets. Big shout out to Bom, who went out of his way to help me, while the rest of the staff are an absolute pleasure. If you want an added bit of luxury, upgrade to the Deluxe Bali.

Beautiful spot with your own private beach. Our kids loved just walking into the water for basic off beach snorkling, plenty of small fish to see. Nice deep swimming pool was great and restaurant food was excellent with plenty of Western and Thai options available. Not too expensive. Our family of 5 stayed in a multiroom villa, it was excellent. The outdoor bathrooms are novel. The staff were excellent and helped with everything incl scooter hire, transport and laundry services.

Staff was phenomenal. Thai food in restaurant was very good. Facilities were ok. Beach was small, littered with garbage. Marketing was deceptive regarding having to share balcony area with strangers. Won’t be back.

located far from anything on the island, the hotel charges 800 Baht for taxi pickups... you must rent a bike unless you are with family.

showers/toilets are out on the open, which is nice, but poor facilities and planning makes it hard to enjoy a good shower.

Tired hotel, uninterested manager!

Second visit to island so wanted to sample different hotel and paid more for family room (Sunset 1 upper house). One of the main reasons was also the swimming pool for my 4 yr old to practice swimming etc. Setting lovely with nice beach and good snorkeling gear to explore fishes around rocks. Unfortunately, room and general resort is tired and needs investment to keep up with rivals on island. First impression of room poor, lights not working, wobbly toilet seat, out of date drinks in fridge and attack of bees/wasps at night! Manager response poor and dismissive, not really interested and fobbed me off on a number of occasions and made you feel as though you are hassling him. The other staff are very pleasant and pool area and beach area is lovely and can't argue with view from our room. But little details like staff smoking in view of customers, coconut trees did not looked maintained (falling coconuts) and very average food (we are in Thailand!) bring the scores down. Understand that mistakes happen and its how they are resolved. We received insect killer spray to sort out our bee problem, no apologies, just pay the bill at the end of your stay, thank you very much. Oh, also managed to get our transfer to the pier wrong, not enough space on first taxi...our trip on the second taxi was quite a ride and great if your a rally driver (my wife told drive to slow down as I was hanging onto my child and dear life).

This place is great - the staff are really friendly and the rooms are lovely. The sea is great to swim in. Such a relaxing place.

There are not really any eating options nearby but the hotel food is fine. A great base to hire a motorbike and explore the island.

Nice hotel by the sea

Stayed as a couple for a week in a Bali style house. Nice room, king sized bed, secluded resort- very happy with the accommodation. There were a few families as well as couples staying at the resort but it always felt very peaceful and there were a lot fewer people that I would have expected - perfect for a relaxing holiday. The resort is by the sea and a beach with corals on the side. There is also a pool which we didn't use. The food/drinks were fine with a lot of choice of both Thai and Western food- at better prices than what we saw from some other resorts on the island (a admittedly based on very limited experience). A diving school operates on site which does occasional free test drives but also provides courses etc. You can also rent bikes for free which we did to a waterfall (it's reasonably hilly so do expect a bit of a workout!) and you can rent a mopeds, kayaks etc.
Overall very much enjoyed the stay- perfect for when you you looking for a relaxing, quiet place to stay away from all the crowds!

Very relaxing place. Its hard to get to and once your there you realize why its worth it. The harder a place is to see the better it is. We live in a world where convenience has destroyed all of the most beautiful areas. As the masses come they trample the region. This is the very southeastern edge of Thailand.

We really enjoyed our stay here and the island is excellent if you just want a total getaway and not too much to do. The hotel is very scenic and the staff generally were very attentive and willing to help. I think the rooms could do with some investment and the food, while reasonable, wasn't good enough to be able to keep us really happy for 5 lunches and dinners!

The hotel look promising! There are everything we want! A swimming pool on the hill. A good view of sunset restaurant with a good food. The room also good with bali style, just the open toilet+shower room more excited at night because you can expect some lizard around that what we face. So try not to use toilet at night would be better! we like the small beach there, very peaceful. Would love to go back there again!

Nice place but lacking

The place is really nice and quiet. Unfortunately when we went the pool was under construction which they didn't mention at all. It was off season and the beach is probably usually very nice but they didn't make any effort to clean up the litter at the little beach or even uncover the lounge chairs and tables at the beach. We felt as though they weren't ready for us. The ambience and staff are great but food could have been better at the restaurant.

We rented mopeds and explored the entire island. We visited the different resorts, and Koh Kood Beach Resort is the nicest. The Bali Bungalows are widely spaced out on the hill, with incredible views across the ocean. There is a large infinity swimming pool, and a restaurant overlooking the water. It is difficult to describe, how beautiful this place is. They have built everything out of wood, so it has a very natural feel.

We were initially concerned by the idea of outdoor bathrooms, given we were visiting in the wet season. However, this wasn't an issue at all. The bathrooms are connected directly to your property, enclosed by a high wall and have a overhanging roof.

Unlike some of the others it does not have direct access to a big beach. However, it does have a small beach and you can rent mopeds from the resort for 400 Baht per day and easily visit the beaches. They also have a free DVD rental service, which we made good use of.

The staff were very laid back and friendly. The food at the restaurant was excellent, reasonably priced and has beautiful views of the sunset over the ocean. The breakfast buffet is very good. This is a really incredible and beautiful place.

The bungalows are very comfortable and the resort is a wonderful place to completely relax and unwind.

You should be careful when you book to check the ferry schedule from the main land though. During the low season the 1 flight of the day from Bangkok to Trat lands at 1pm, but the only ferry for the day leaves around 12:30 PM. Therefore you won't make it to Koh Kood in the same day which means you will have to spend the night in Trat which isn't a very exciting city.

Slitet men trevlig personal.

Hela resorten kändes som den var i behov av renovering. Vår bungalow luktade mögel. Det var hål i taket över terassen och parasollet var sönderblåst och smutsigt. Poolen var väldigt vacker men linern var inte rengjord på länge och det var ett gammalt lager av smuts längs vattenlinjen. Dessutom var dynorna på solstolarna slitna och trasiga. Runt om i området var mycket utrustning i dåligt skick och i behov av reparation eller utbyte.
Restaurangen hade dock god mat och all personal var väldigt vänlig och hjälpsam. Happy hour vid solnedgången var också uppskattat. Men tyvärr blev det bestående intrycket att resorten den senaste tiden inte fått den omsorg av ägarna som den hade behövt för att bli så bra som den förtjänar.

Super séjour à tout point de vue

Nous avons beaucoup aime notre sejour a Ko Kood. Le site de l'hôtel est magnifique et tres dépaysant. Les bungalows sont tres jolis, spacieux et confortables et la salle de bain en extérieur est tres sympa. Le personnel et tout le staff avec les managers à la réception sont très aimables et professionnels. La cuisine est tres bonne ,nous y avons dine tous les soirs et apprécié les currys et autres plats locaux. Le petit-déjeuner buffet est copieux et varié. C'est parfait. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la belle piscine qui surplombe la mer....Je recommande cet établissement qui est situe juste à cote du charmant village de pêcheurs où on peut aller à pied.

Vær opmærksom på at adressen er forkert. Resortet ligger ikke i Bang Bao, men ca 20 min derfra på en anden meget mindre, men rigtig fin lille strand.

Le cadre est magnifique, le jardin très bien entretenu, la plage privée est petite mais tellement jolie et la piscine à debordement est spacieuse et offre une super belle vue. Les salles de bains (douche et wc) sont en extérieurs, surprenant au début mais finalement très sympa. Le seul bémol de l'endroit : le restaurant : la cuisine est très grasse et fade... Je recommande 1000 fois cet hôtel pour la sérénité qu'il offre !

Our stay in Koh Kood Beach Resort was amazing. We loved the pool and the beach, which was also great for snorkeling. Food was very good and staff super friendly. Our Bali house was comfortable and had everything we needed. Some additional hangers etc for clothes would make everything even better.

Toppenhotell med den allra bästa servicen. Familjär stämning med äkta leenden och önskan om att ge det alla gäster önskar. Frukosten innehöll det som önskades. Menyn är gedigen och jag rekommenderar att prova det man känner sig sugen på. Vi åt middag där fem gånger och lunch tre gånger och allt var gott och vällagat. Poolen var stor och rymlig och det fanns poolhanddukar att låna. Stranden är liten och det är lite svårt att ta sig ut i vattnet utan badskor. Snorkel, kajak och cykel lånar man gratis genom att lämna en deposition på 500 bath. Vi hyrde motorcykel heldag för 300. Bodde i ett balihus där badrummet låg under öppen himmel. Backigt så man får inte ha svårt att gå. Finns ett par små butiker inom närhåll där man kan köpa ex. chips annars håller minibaren bra priser. Rekommenderar stället för service, pool och maten samt lugn och ro.

Tolles Resort mit mega Aussicht auf einen wundervollen Sonnenuntergang. Sehr gepflegte Außenanlagen. Super freundliches Personal! Schöner kleiner Strand zum Schnorcheln.
Großartiges Essen und schöner Pool (der leider etwas trüb wirkt, da es manche Urlauber nicht für nötig halten, sich kurz direkt 1m entfernt abzuduschen).

Rigtig dejligt hotel med fine bambushytter, men med komforten af et hotelværelse. Super smukt beliggende ned til den fineste lille strand med krystal blåt vand.. området er meget smukkere end det ser ud på hotellets hjemme side. Resturanten var lidt kedelig og maden var heller ikke den store oplevelse.. men ok.. vi fandt et lille hyggeligt sted at spise end i \"byen\"

Resort med udsigt

Området er fantastisk med lækker pool og lille charmerende strand. Udsigten fra resortet er helt vidunderlig. Vi boede i sunset lower house og var noget generet af flagermus bag væggen, der larmede om morgenen. Ligeledes trængte huset til noget renovering og vedligehold, fx løb der vand fra overetagen ud på gulvet i gangen og badeværelset lugtede ikke friskt. Det er en skam, at man har valgt at tone alle ruderne, så man ikke kan nyde udsigten fuldt ud indefra, ligesom at man har valgt en meget mørk indretning.
Alt i alt er stedet dog et besøg værd.

Müll am Strand und keiner der ihn wegräumt!

Für das Wetter in der Nebensaison kann das Hotel sicher nichts, auch nicht für die raue See, die sehr hohen Wellen die das Baden zu einer gefährlichen Angelegenheit werden lassen. Auch für die Unmengen an Müll die zu dieser Jahreszeit an den Strand gespült werden, kann das Hotel nichts. Über all diese Dinge waren wir uns bereits vor der Anreise im klaren. Es ist halt Monsoon. Wofür das Hotel aber definitiv etwas kann, wäre den Müll mindestens 1x am Tag zu beseitigen. Bedauerlicherweise fühlte sich niemand für dieses Problem verantwortlich. Nachdem wir die Rezeption über den Umstand des Mülls am Strand informiert hatten, drückte man uns einiges an bedauern aus und entschuldigte sich zutiefst. Das war dann leider auch schon alles was passieren sollte, denn als wir am darauffolgenden Tag an den Strand gingen, war zwar noch Müll hinzugekommen, Müll weggeräumt hatte man nicht. Also, dachte ich mir...meckern ist zwar nett, half offensichtlich wenig. Wir hatten leider 3 Nächte gebucht und ich wollte unserer Familie noch mindestens 1 schönen Tag an einem halbwegs sauberen Strand gönnen. Ich ging erneut zur Rezeption und bat um einige Tüten, die man mir auch gab, nicht jedoch ohne zu fragen wofür ich diese benötigte. Nach einer kurzen Erklärung, ging ich zurück zum Strand, sammelte gemeinsam mit meiner Familie 2 riesige Säcke Müll. KEINER der Angestellten ging uns zur Hand. Zugeschaut hat man uns. Auch an sonnten ist das Hotel sehr abgewohnt! Für diesen Preis, KEINE Empfehlung!!

Par pitié, gardez cet endroit intact !

Superbe Hotel (Nous y allions pour la 4 eme fois). Personnel vraiment au petit soin et parlant un anglais suffisant. Les Chambre Sunset View 1 et 2 sont sublimes à privilégier si vous voyagez avec des amis (jacuzzi partagé). La plage de l’hôtel est très propre et, excellente nouvelle, les coraux sont de retour. Espérons que cela continue. En attendant , nous avons utilisé les kayaks pour aller se balader en nettoyant au passage les sac plastiques que l'on retrouve même dans un endroit aussi paradisiaque.

Ett riktigt bra ställe för barnfamiljer!! Men....vi var ett par utan barn, och det gjorde att vi inte var riktigt bekväma. Maten var mycket bra, personalen underbar, poolen helt ok samt en fin strand....men resorten är för barnfamiljer. Vi bodde i Balihouse och det finns inget att önska sig när det gäller boendet. Hyr en moppe och åk runt lite om du väljer detta boende. Finns inget i gångväg härifrån
