Worst experience of our 15 day east coast trip. We booked two nights at this dive but only stayed one. Our ocean view was seen through a broken window kept together by green painting tape. The walls were dirty, holes in the wall and paint job pitiful. Breakfast was sketchy, we had to ask them to replenish empty food containers. We asked for a refund for one night at least but they refused. We’re leaving this review so that others are warned before booking.

The property is not new. It is rated as a 2.5 star but the price was very good and the breakfast was good as well. The room was OK, but like I said it’s not a new modern hotel, but acceptable because you get what you pay for, it was clean comfortable, and the breakfast was fairly decent and the staff was friendly.

It would be nice to control the TV with the remote. After travelling all day, wanting to relax and watch the news, and having to manually power on the TV and then manually adjust the volume is living in the 1960's. The breakfast is a joke......no fruit, no yogurt, no rolled oats.
Breakfast was: boxed juice, muffin, eggs, sausage, potato, white bread, coffee......end of story!!

We stayed 1 night, would not stay here again. My husband's first comment was how the ceiling looked like a body outline.
Bathroom was dirty, toothpaste spray all over the cheap stick on backsplash, which was also coming off.
Long black hair on the tub and in the corners. Grout on floor tiles was filthy. Obvious water damages through the whole unit which were not properly fixed, just \"bandaid\" fixed.
The floor was very sticky, my shoes stuck to all the floors.
Breakfast was barely adequate. Although the staff was trying to help out, the selection was poor, most were empty.
Only one piece of fruit, one muffin, and one ketchup packet was available.

There was no hand soap in the bathroom, bath towels were miniscule and threadbare, only one hand towel, shampoo was impossible to get out of container, TV was inoperable, bathroom exhaust fan made lots of noise but very little exhaust. Breakfast was available but rather meagre - very little juice, limited bread for toast, toaster was extremely slow, very little milk for coffee or cereal.

Stayed here for two nights after our ferry had been delayed. Our room was basic, nothing flash, bed too soft for us, room painted a dark colour which made the room look even darker & the furniture was dark also. Plenty of parking at the front and out the back. Obtaining hot water for a cup of tea was very painful, I waited for over 15 minutes before it was giving to me. While I was waiting for the hot water, I was asked to give this hotel a five star review, I would have if I thought it deserved five stars.

The room was clean, however the bathroom sink would back up after a minute or so of use. When we were out, someone entered and filled the sink and loosened to drain pipe so we had to be moved to another room. They said we would be compensated, but nothing was offered when I mentioned it at check out. Staff were friendly, but they have to work on communication.

I was a bit concerned that the door that connects the rooms below to the back of the building was open when I got into the room. If I didn't check that it was locked I would have slept with the door open which is a security issue. These doors should remain locked unless opened by the traveller.

I showed up to this place late after traveling 8 hours at night my kids were exhausted so they went straight to bed. When I had a minute to check everything my kids were already asleep. There was stuff splattered all over the walls not cleaned. The bathtub was not clean still shampoo on the side of the bathtub where the shampoo bottle was from previous visit from whoever. For real snots wiped into the wall and was not clean. I will not be returning.

The property was in need of repairs everywhere. poorly maintained floors were dirty and uneven. stairwell Carpets were filthy. No elevator. the connecting door to the next room in my suite had zip ties for locks. My room smelt like damp mold. Baseboards were filthy bathroom needed redoing. Grout was black. Boxspring if there was noisy. Bed linen was fine. The towels in the bathroom were very thin need to be replaced.

Our first room smelled damp and musty, there was mold on the window frame. Bathroom sink didn’t drain well. I tried to stay there for a couple of hours but started to get a headache. The desk clerk was very helpful and changed us immediately to another room. The second room was better but we would not stay at that hotel again. It is way overpriced for the type of rooms listed. The room was dirty. Floors were not swept, light sockets were nasty, shower curtain was dirty, no fan in bathroom, hole in the wall, fire alarm hanging from ceiling. Pictures on Expedia did not look anything like the room we had. Had to call and get more clean towels, no maid service for a full week. Only good thing about the room was the clean bedding. The restaurant was very good.

The hotel property is quite old, and the rooms were not maintained properly. The air conditioning was not working well, which made the stay uncomfortable. The food service staff was rude and irresponsible, and basic things were not provided properly. Overall, we were not happy with the service. The only positives were the good location and decent parking facilities.

Worst place i ever stayed. The building is dirty and outdated. Hallways look like they haven't been vaccumed in weeks. Floors in room were dirty. Bed sheets were clean but the comforter clearly was not and only 3 low quality pillows on the bed. Toliet bowl had toliet paper in it on arrival. Fridge and microwave were dirty inside. The front desk clerk (Amit) was extremely friendly, helpful and professional. 10/10
The room was comfortable and clean 9/10. As travellers we would have appreciated a Keurig or coffee machine in the room. $4 for a coffee at the restaurant is a bit ridiculous. Especially when we would have had one each at night and a couple in the morning.
When we went up for breakfast the next morning we were told breakfast ended at 9, even though 7:30-10:00 was written on our key card. We ended up getting eggs and hash browns and coffee which we appreciated.
I would recommend blackout curtain instead of the thin ivory curtains. The sun was shining bright in the room in the morning but that didn’t matter because we were woken long before that by the noise upstairs. I’m not sure what was over us but it didn’t seem to be a guest room. I assumed it was a busy laundry room where staff were working. You could hear things being dragged across the floor like a cart or something and the people were walking briskly. I could only assume it was staff because it was happening up until 11:30pm and started again around 6:30 am or earlier. If it’s a staff room, I would suggest better soundproofing. If it’s a guest room I think they rearranged all the furniture at night and again in the morning.
Fortunately the room was clean and I had no where to be in the morning so I didn’t really care about the lack of sleep, but others might. None of this would stop me from staying here . It may never happen again.

I would never statuary her again. You can hear when the next room sneezes. TV, walking down the hall. Carpet stinks. They didn't put towels in the room. The tv kept connecting to someone else's Bluetooth, which means another room had prior connected....I booked harbor side and got street side. Pillows stained out was the most run down hotel. Shouldn't be affiliated with Best Western.

Room and false advertising in description and pictures. Room said it was queen bed and it was only a double. There were zip ties for a lock for the doors to the adjoining room. Bathroom sink was plugged and barely drained.
The main room light didn’t work. Only 1 head light above the right side of the bed to light the entire room.
Also there was no parking, the back parking lot was not ploughed and the front parking lot was full from locals visiting the pub in the hotel as there was live music. No parking for actual hotel guests.
I DO NOT recommend staying at this hotel.

Checked in and went to room to find that keys did not work. Walked all the way back to front desk and waited to be served again. Was given new keys, only to find out that room was not cleaned from the last customer that stayed in it. Bed was unmade with garbage and was still on the night stands.
Very bad experience, we instantly returned to the front desk, waited for an attendee and insisted on cancelling our stay.
Not a great day, sudden death in family and after traveling all day to have this happen.
We are waiting for our refund electronically! My mourning wife was too upset to wait at the time.

The whole place was a no go for me . I booked it as it says best western location boy was I fooled . This room is worth maybe 50 a night . Walks in the smells in place was unbelievable. Then gets upstairs they hallway was gross ladder in middle of walkway just all around I would never book this place again not even for 50 a night . One of the two rooms I rented was not for guests. We were moved to the nun harbor view side of the hotel and promised a credit. The credit was not issued upon checkout. I was told to call back and and given the name of an individual with whom I should speak. I called and was told someone would call me back. Several days later I called again. This time I was instructed to email the problem to the hotel. I did. Again, no response.

Don’t let the association with Best Western mislead you!!! The property looks fair from the outside but inside is different. Oh, where to begin?

The checkin was likely the best part of the experience. The beds aren’t especially good, the ceiling has been repaired and looks dodgy. The towels are so thin, mildew on the plastic shower curtain. No coffee in the room, no kettle or a tea bag. Fridge worked and has a large freezer.

Breakfast— the chafing dish wasn’t turned on or something as the eggs, hot dogs (yes- hot dogs) and potatoes wedges were cold. So there was at least cereal, muffins and yogurt and coffee.

We booked through Expedia, should have just walked up in person to examine the room. But after hours travelling we wanted to have a place to just get into. The front desk staff were at least receptive and apologized for our experience. They brought out a person, maybe the manager; no introduction given. After discussing the situation , she was not willing to give any resolution. We really don’t have much recourse but will be reaching out to Best Weatern and NS Health.

I arrived at 10:00 pm and there were men on the front porch smoking heavily. First room I was assigned had mold in the bathroom. Second room had sticky bathroom floors and dirty blankets. Both were on the bottom floor.

I asked to be switched again and was told it would be 30 minutes to clean another room and the TV won’t work.The third room I entered on the main floor seemed clean enough. Blankets and pillows were very thin. Noises from people upstairs could be heard all night.

I checked out at 6:00 AM and asked the front desk if something can be done about the rigamaroll I was put through. Staff replied “I’m just a random night worker I can’t give discounts.”

Definitely the worst experience in the last 20 years of travel. The guy on reception (Amir? Amit?) was really good - but that was the only good thing in there.
The place is old, trushy and smells terrible. They try to renew some surfaces but so far it doesn't help. Miserable bed, tiny room and primitive breakfast - all for the price of good budget hotel. Housekeeping forgot to give us shower towels (I had to walk to the receiption: phone doesn't work, too).
It was my mistake. Don't do that.

We liked the location, the room was clean, convenient and easy to find. There was no coffee maker. And there was only one small garbage container in the bathroom. The bed sheets.
