Property is being renovated, and they're doing it not floor by floor but scattered so no floor was with out noise or work going on. That being said the renovations are good.
The location was really good close to restaurants and sights to see.

Service staff in the kitchen are wonderful.
The room view was excellent.

Now the not so nice.

Customer service manager Chau, is unprofessional and overtly arrogant. Snearing while chewing his gum he openly muttered how staff were going to hear from him about doing their job. Prepaid meals not readily available.
The entire hotel was under renovations, not just the fitness facility. This caused noise and elevator disturbances on a consistent basis.
Noise in the hallways, slamming doors and arguments were not dealt with informally and timely by management.

Hotel undergoing renovations which we were not made aware of at booking so no laundry facilities or leisure facilities. Work ongoing during the day which was noticed.
Hotel indeed tired and room showing signs of age although views were good over the marina etc.
one bottle of water and two coffee cartridges in room which when two in the room seemed a bit mean but managed to catch one of the staff who happily gave me more coffee.
Breakfast was included which was perfectly adequate with lovely staff on hand if anything required.
Parking an additional charge at $7 which seemed reasonable but would have thought that could have been waived due to renovations and lack of facilities available.
Location met our needs but if we had been made aware of renovations we would not have booked.

The hotel was under renovation which impacted on our stay. Eave restaurant was good but the food at the breakfast buffet in the pub was cold, tasteless and coffee was bad by any standard. We were surprised by the breakfast experience as we had a good experience at this same pub the afternoon before with a very helpful bar tender. The price for the buffet was extremely inflated for the food and service we were given. We have had much better FREE buffet breakfasts at other Holiday Inns.

Overall the stay was pleasant. The staff at front desk and restaurant were excellent. The property is going through a renovation so hard to truly judge cleanliness but there was a lot of stuff hanging about and elevators were untidy. The fridge in room didn't work and hot water takes a while to get going. Parking was okay but lower lot made me nervous. But the stay met my needs and the room was comfortable with a great view.

We had a great time staying. Staffs were helpful. Our dining experience with buffet breakfast is exemptional. Big thanks to Carol for being so accomodating and setting a great service with a big smile always. The view in our room is beautiful though the property is not as clean as expected because of the renovations going on...The downside part is the parking space because you have to pay a parking fee and will charge you everyday with $7. I think parking space should be included in the amenities and guest should not pay for it.

Full disclosure, the place was getting reconstructed while I was there. This is a property I have stayed in the past ad might have missed the heads up.

The room was clean itself and was fully functioning, do believe this place had a decent shower. for a night stay this a was good place, being down town allowed also for great views all day long and a decent walkscore for things to see and do.

the only issue I had was that the laundry service was out of service and that was the main reason I choose that hotel as I knew they had one. This did allow for a fun experience at a local laundrymat. Gym was also down but I am a pool girl and that hotel still has my favourite hotel pool with slide.

Also, I was under the impression when I booked that parking was included. When I checked out, I was billed for parking. An unanticipated expense.

Our stay at the Holiday Inn Sydney - Waterfront was excellent from start to finish. The location is perfect, right on the waterfront with beautiful views and easy access to everything in the area.

The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was welcoming. Staff were friendly, professional, and made the experience even better with their helpful attitude.

Everything about our stay met or exceeded expectations.

We stayed during March Break, the hotel was nice, pool was great and breakfast was really good. I am totally okay with kids having fun during the March break, however, we were up most of the night due to kids running down the halls, screaming and banging on all the doors. We went to the desk twice and the response we got was “we apologize it is March break”. We have a four year old with us, who was unable to sleep due to other peoples kids not being able to follow the rules.

When we arrived, there was a hidden pet fee and parking fee. It was 2am, not in the mood to argue. We got to our room and had smaller beds than what I paid for. Exhausted, whatever, there then was a party in the room next door. I don’t mind noise, but they kept banging on the walls and was quite literally shaking our headboards to a point we couldn’t sleep. At 4am asked the front desk to talk to them. Unfortunately there’s not much they could do. Only stayed 7 hours because of the inconveniences.

I stay here because of the food. I get it's being renovated, but even with that there are no operable windows and the air isn't exchanged.
Parking is also a misery and worse, you pay for it.
I'll also note that this hotel doesn't have charging options for vehicle if you're into that.

There was a lot of issues around parking and space, the floor around the toilet was stained with urine, the toilet ran all night and there was old Chinese food under the bed and there were sauce stains on the carpet (we didn't have Chinese food)

I understand we went on a busy weekend and staff we're so, so busy - but the room was not cleaned at all.

The place is under renovation. Though I didn’t see any. Nice hotel. Pool and hot tub -nice! Staff were amazing and called me by name!

Cons had a wheelchair accessible room. Ample space in room and bathroom. However, the grab bars in the bathroom are shiny steel. They are not for accessibility. You cannot use them as grip/grab bars at all.
Also, you can hear the person in the next room sneeze. Rooms are not sound proof what so ever. Front desk staff went above and beyond to accommodate for the hotel physical shortfalls. However, the accessibility bars need to be addressed, as someone could get hurt.

There was a hockey tournament which i was not inform3d of.11pm at night there was kids playing hockey in the hallways...nothing would of been done if i did not call the front desk.very dissappointing.Also if you book a night at a hotel..there should be a spot to park ur vehicle...paying for parking was not very nice to have to do.especiallty considering i had to make a parkint space as ther3 was none for us to park in.

I chose this hotel because it was the only one offering hot tub at the moment I booked. I really wanted to use it after a long drive. The hot tub was out of order as well as the laundry. I understand repairs may be needed but the guests should be informed about these situations on the website before booking or after booking. The room was clean, the bed is comfortable. The shower is placed too low and also with a very low water pressure. Staff was friendly at every moment. Not a terrible stay at all, but there are better options for the same money.

Room was fine. Wish i was told i would have to pay an additional 100 dollars on check in. Been to many hotels and this is the first time ive had to pay anything like that. Typically the cars would be charged AFTERWARDS and only if any damages were done. Very unlikely ill be back solwly because of that.

The pool side area was really poor with no towels or staff around requested to bring towels on reception then took 40-45 minutes to get the towels to use in pool with the kids.
Breakfast was a surprise to have order only one specific meal per person and was not a buffet service was really disappointing. Bathroom has no toothbrushes or toothpaste. Like small things and paid $400 for one night for 1 bedroom that’s honestly a lot and i’d never been recommended to anyone else even will tell all of my friends not to go there.

Room was very outdated, noise with renovation immediately above us was loud, we knew about it, but was surprised the room rate was still where it was considering the condition and noise. Was in meetings all day so had the DND on the door, when asked for extra towels and cups, etc. for coffee, it was sloppily done (didn’t take away used towels, didn’t include coffee lids, etc), the second night they didn’t even go into the room (DND sign was removed) and left the extra towels, etc in a garbage bag in front of the door for us to find when we returned from dinner. Not very welcoming, nor accommodating.

The other two Holiday Inn properties we stayed in on this trip offered free breakfast. We didn’t qualify apparently. The property is under renovation. At no point during the booking process was this disclosed. The A/C was exceedingly loud, the taps dripped, there were huge stains in the bathtub. We were still charged full price. Snack area was a huge rip off. $4 for a chocolate bar? They were $2 at the other properties. Access stairs to the lower parking lot were blocked off. Would not stay here again

Nice but, not worth the money for the construction

Was a nice stay at this property, a bit pricey for not having an operating hot tub which we were looking for. As well as the property is going through construction and at very early in morning it sounded like a drill was going to come through the wall or ceiling. Ah well, was the 1st time in the region and thats what we focused on.
