Upon arrival we were assigned to a room that was in complete unacceptable condition to stay in heavily soiled carpets, and dog food was found on the floor, water damage around the windows. There were stains on the lampshade and the wall, there was a very concerning amount of dust around the heating unit, and a thick layer of dust on top of the microwave, light fixtures did not work and when asked to change to a new room, we were charged unknowingly an extra amount.

Property is under major renovations. Carpet is being torn out and replaced. Construction Garbage was found everywhere and many areas roped off leaving it hard to navigate hallways. No elevator access and furniture piled in shared areas. It also took a while for hot water when taking a shower. Room and bed was clean otherwise.

The place was an absolute disaster. It was open during renovations and it should not have been. A construction crew was grinding the floor right outside my room for hours on end. It was so bad that I had to leave.

I’m not sure what they’re paying the maids but it’s definitely to much. There was also black mold in the changing rooms.

The rooms are standard hotel rooms but the carpets and floors as well as the beds could benefit being replaced. The hot water takes forever to become hot. The breakfast was not great, seemed the food was sitting for awhile and rubbery or hard.

- Pool was very cloudy and dirt in the deeper end. Looked to be like dog fur under the door to the pool and inside the pool area by the basket for towels.

Yes, the property is dated, but clean. Stuff is friendly and there’s selection of items to choose from for complimentary breakfast.
I liked the Dove shampoo/conditioner/body wash and soap, but we were 3 people (2 adults and 8 year old) and we had just one of a kind and those bottles are small. We were staying 1 nights, so it wasn’t much of a problem and we could have asked for more I guess, but seemed not enough.
I like that they have pool, hot tub and sauna. They also have gym.
Overall I am happy with our stay and would recommend staying here.

We had a suite, it was very fairly priced, great to have the beds in one side and living space on the other… full kitchen and 2 bathrooms was very nice.
The staff we incredibly friendly… like being welcomed by old friends.,, and they met every request quickly and with a smile … if I ever travel this way again I will definitely choose the Travelodge again

Definitely 5 stars for this hotel! The staff was great to deal with, even with the weirdest questions. The pool and hot tub were amazing. It was such a quiet little area. Sadly the sauna was out of service when we were there. But the arcade area was plentiful! It had lots of options. And don’t get me started on the breakfast! It was great! Had lots of flavour in the sausage, the pancakes were great and the orange juice and coffee actually had flavour! If you’re staying in town and want somewhere that’s pretty central, I would definitely recommend!

There was a massive pothole in the parking lot. There was a large gap under my door and mold in the bathroom. The tub drain had no drain grate. The tap rotated 360. My room was also for disabled folks. There was no channel guide with limited channels.
The sauna was closed. No one cared that there were unattended children in the pool, and the pool and the hot tub were filthy. You had to walk through the game room to get to the pool area.
The highlight was the staff. Very friendly and efficient.

The room was not in great condition. The tub was very slow to drain leaving standing water in the tub after a shower for a long time. The sink in the bathroom also didn’t drain. The toilet would continue to run after it was flushed. I’d remove the back of the toilet tank to stop it from continuing to run. The carpet around the window was stained with what looked like water damage. Thinking about it now makes me question mold in that area of the room. Breakfast was good. Pool was nice. Front desk staff was friendly.

I’m a little torn writing this, as the staff were all amazing and went above and beyond, from the front desk to maintenance… but hotel itself is really not in great shape.

The beds themselves were very clean and comfortable. Lobby was great. But the carpet in the room and throughout the hotel was pretty gross. Like blue/grey stains, super colorful paint stains? And just too many dark stains to feel comfortable in socks in the room.

The bathroom smelled of vinegar, not cleaner, just vinegar & the light over the sink was barely on. Maintenance did come quickly to resolve some issues (beeping safe, and broken drawer that wouldn’t close), and extra pillows were delivered quickly as well.

Our regular hotel options were full this weekend due to a tournament and so I picked this one over other’s available due to the pool. But that was a mistake: Theres rust everywhere (not in the pool itself), peeling paint and rusty doors. My kids went in the pool and the water was extremely cloudy, they didn’t want to stay long. The shower didn’t work and almost came out of the wall. The pool area was really dark overall.

Unfortunately, I just don’t think the place warrants the price I paid, $245 total Plus pet fee.

The breakfast was nice to have, I’d suggest sticking to toast and cereal.

I do think if they renovate it will be a great option in Sydney, as the staff is really great. Just need to bring the quality of the hotel up or bring the price down and know what you’re getting.

Over charged for what that room was by a long shot but with everything going on in town they saw an opportunity and took it to double their money on what the room was worth. Oh well it’s not illegal. The kids had fun in the pool and on the one or two games that still work in the game room.

We didn't use any of the hotel's services. We went to our room Room 257 and that was enough. The hot tub was apparently closed. We didn't bother to go to breakfast. we travelled to Tim Horton's instead. Please note: I am not a complainer. I love to make people feel good and provide positive feedback. I didn't complain while at the hotel as i didn't want to insult the STAFF WHO WERE FRIENDLY AT THE FRON DESK. We entered our room after a 4 hour commute. The toilet almost overflowed when flushed after urinating in the toilet. The carpets were extremely stained throughout the room. The light switches were filthy. The chair in the room was terribly stained it was worse than chairs you see next to the curb on garbage day. There was dried pasta in the night stand. The nightstand had a cardboard toilet or paper towel roll under one leg and a disposable cup folded under the other. The Kleenex holder was hanging off the wall. The tub was rusted on the exterior. The shower nozzle was really dirty. I did take pictures as I was told by a friend to complain, however it took me time to come to terms that I was going to need to say something. The carpets in the hallway were lifted in areas resulting in a trip hazard. The windows at the entrance looked as though they were washed with dirty water. There was glass outside on the walkway. Again, the staff were pleasant at check in and when meeting them in the hallway. Always smiled and spoke.

Unhappy with overall stay. TV was not working and they could not fix it after they came to look at it . Large sign outside says free hot breakfast- there was no hot breakfast , instead were given a cold english muffin , a box of juice and a granola bar all in a bag- There was no hot water in the morning so had to have cold shower - pool and hot tub clean and the room was clean- would give a

Disappointing and Disgusting Experience at Travel Lodge Sydney

I'm writing this review as a warning to others. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I was forced to stay at the Travel Lodge in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Unfortunately, the experience was a nightmare. The room was filthy, with rust in the tub, on door hinges and towel rack. The bathroom fan was clogged with dirt, and the tiles were water stained and likely moldy. The carpets were stained beyond repair, and the chairs and lampshades weren't much better, all having stains of some sort. The room needed a serious overhaul. It’s dilapidated condition was shocking.

The state of the place was so appalling that I opted to pay for breakfast for myself, my husband, and my son rather than eat at the hotel's breakfast buffet, which was included with our stay. Let's just say it was a blessing we had other options, because there was no way we were eating there.

I was shocked and disappointed by the lack of cleanliness and maintenance at this hotel. Unfortunately, my experience was not what I expected, and I won't be back.

Hotel is overall pretty run down. Celieng tiles damaged, stained carpets in the hallway, hallway carpet pulled up in places. Rooms had decent beds, but in my room the bathtub trim was falling off, there was black mold above the shower head, the hot water would come on and off. You can tell ownership is more worried about saving every penny by all the cut corners, then the quality of your stay.

It is probably a little worse than you expect it to be, but its serviceable in a pinch.

There were multiple prominent stains on the carpet. The carpet was clearly old and worn. There were two large prominent stains on the couch. There were water leak stains on the ceiling and rust on almost a metal fixtures and things like hinges etc. there was no drain plug in the old tub (rusted) so one could not take a bath. There were only 3 small pillows in a King bed for 2 guests. The room had certainly been cleaned but even the most diligent housekeeper can only compensate so much for an older neglected property. This was supposed to be one of the nicer rooms at the end of the hall on the ground floor. Every corner in the room had marks and damage, wall paper was peeling in several places. It did not feel or look like a room a person should be paying for.

I won’t be returning and cannot recommend the property to anyone at this point.

Our first room was at the end of the hall on the main level next to the fire escape stairs room 274 i think. When i opened the door to the stairs i saw the entire staircase walls and ceiling covered in black mold. The stairs and windows were dripping wet. Crazy health hazard. We asked to be moved and the attendant at the front desk seemed very aware of the problem. The black mold spores have to be all through the hotel. The new room that we were moved to was dirty. There was hair on the shower surround and the tub drain was clogged. The kind of place where you check the mattress for bedbugs. Clean plates in the cupboard were dirty. We left with runny noses and feeling unwell after the night. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. This place feels like it is being used as a long term boarding house or something. Stay anywhere else.
