Perfect to get away from the crowds

We had a great time. The pool is great and the staff lovely. You need a car as some great beachs are only 20 to 40 mins away. Also great places to eat near by. Totally recommend it .

Lovely Luogosanto

The San Trano and Luogosanto is about a 20 minute drive to the nearest beaches - so not ideal if you don't wat to drive or like your sea view! But the views of the local countryside from the San Trano are stunning.
But we love the town with its 2-3 bars and coffee shops and a couple of eateries and the hotel is ideally situated in the town and very clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast is more than adequate.
One small issue with the hotel is that it does get used for touring coach parties, so it can become a bit over-run in the evening when the coaches arrive - the upside is that it's then empty during the day!!

Lovely hotel in small village,great views.Staff very friendly and helpfull.Very quiet when we stayed with only a couple of coach parties of older people staying.Really need a car otherwise quite isolated with only 2 pizza restaurants within walking distance a supermarket and a bar in the village.Very rural and not for those wanting night life, although a lovely place to come back to at the end of a day out.

Ideal Base for exploring the North of Sardinia

Hotel San Trano served as an ideal base to travel around the Northern part of Sardinia. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming, the rooms very clean and tidy. Despite our room looking out only at the swimming pool the views from the terrace were breathtaking and were a perfect excuse to prolong breakfast. From the hotel the nearest beaches were accessible within 20 minutes drive by car with the Costa Smeralda well within 40 minutes drive; other places well worth a visit including Tempio Pausania and Monti Limbara, were also close by.

Don't stay here if you don't have a car.

Best to get that out of the way. Hotel San Trano is possibly the best value hotel in Sardinia. It's just a bit out of the way, but if you got wheels then it's not a problem. Complimentary breakfast is ok. Dinner is excellent, three course meal for between 10 and 20 euros. 4 euros for a half litre of house wine. Good-sized rooms, clean and bright. Satelite TV with bbc, sky and fox news, plus numerous sport and music channels. Decent enough pool. Friendly service. No complaints at all. Despite the remote location, Luogosanto is a good base to explore Sardinia. Costa Smeralda, Palau, Santa Gallura are within 30-40km. Sassari/Alghero is about a two hour drive.

Impressed with hotel

Staff were friendly, hotel was very clean and comfortable. Large bedroom, nicely furnished. 3 course menu in hotel restaurant - great food and good size portions, so value for money. Nice pool, but need to remember swimming hats, which is common in Italy. Hire car is a must - hotel is a great base for exploring interior and coast. We would definately go back and recommend to others.

The hotel is a very cozy and quiet place in the middle of the sardinian mountains in a picturesque little village. The staff welcomed us warmly and helped us out in every way (which was necessary a few times because of the Corona pandemic and the limited transportation options). Especially the lady working at the front desk was very helpful when it came to that and helped us organize a few trips without a rental car.
The place itself is clean and has nice little rooms, some parts of the furniture might have already got a bit long in the tooth, but all in all it's a very charming place with a good price/performance ratio. The pool area is absolutely beautiful - my favorite place to be, - just as the terrace where you can take your breakfast, which is very fresh and rich in variety. Unfortunately the restaurant in the hotel was closed because of the circumstances, but as an alternative there is two local restaurants in walking distance and also a supermarket.
All in all we were very happy to have found such a beautiful escape for the holidays.

luogo tranquillo a 30m d'auto da Palau e dintorni

L'hotel è molto carino, situato in una zona molto tranquilla, un paesino da cui è facile raggiungere, nell'arco di una mezz'oretta, i luoghi balneari più famosi della costa smeralda. Tuttavia è necessario essere automuniti per potersi muovere agevolmente altrimenti si resta bloccati avendo una unica opportunità di raggiungere Palau ad orari stabiliti con il bus locale.
Le camere sono grandi e confortevoli e c'è una piccola piscina, utilissima in caso di forte maestrale. La colazione potrebbe migliorare, presenza di dolce e salato ma la qualità e la varietà potrebbero essere decisamente migliori.
Una pecca che ha un po' disturbato il nostro soggiorno è stato il materasso scomodissimo, da cambiare, si sentivano le molle e una piccola noia, l'obbligo di lasciare la chiave in reception quando uscivano dall'hotel.
Manca frigo bar e cassaforte. Per il costo richiesto, potevano essere quel di più che non avrebbe guastato.

Despues de pagar 2 noches no cancelables, me enviaron email diciendo que la habitacion no tenía aire acondicionado (julio) y si lo quería +17€ por noche, en el desayuno ( incluido) me ofrecieron café que acepté y después me cobrarn 1,50€ por el café. La cama una piedra. El internet no funciona. Son umos timadores

uns hat alles gut gefallen. In der Nähe einige Pizzerias. die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und gepflegt. Handtücher werden nur alle 3 Tage gewechselt. Wenn man sie jeden Tag frisch haben möchte, dann ist das extra zu bezahlen. Der Pool ist sehr nett angelegt.

L'hotel è in un paesino un po' fuorimano ma consente di raggiungere non troppo lontano da Olbia ed è facile raggiungere tutta la zona nord-est. Buona cucina e camere spaziose. Bella vista della Corsica dalla terrazza. Personale molto cortese.

Helt ok hotell men läget lite off. Gatuadressen stämde inte med hotellets läge och vi irrade omkring med bilen i 10 min innan vi frågade vart hotellet låg. Väl framma var det ett annat par som också hade irrat omkring i 20min. Bättre att söka på hotellets namn och inte på gatuadressen.

De har byte av lakan och handdukar var tredje dag vilket är bra av miljöperspektiv men kostar extra ifall man skulle behöva/vilja byta.

Utcheckningen är vid 10 vilket är väldigt tidigt och när vi frågade om senare utcheckningen så fick vi bara till kl 11. Ingen AC på rummet.
Helt ok frukost och väldigt trevlig personal.

Hotel situé à l'écart des animations touristiques. Prévoir du temps pour accéder ou revenir des plages. Hotel très bruyant.
Chambre mal insonorisée, nous entendons tout ce qui se passe dans la chambre voisine...
Petit déjeuner très moyen.
Manque des équipements dans la chambre : pas de frigo (en Sardaigne !), beaucoup de difficultés à capter le wifi. Petite télévision cathodique.
Lit confortable. Chambre bien climatisée. Piscine et transat de qualité.

Un cliente deluso nelle aspettative!

Tornavo dopo essere stato qualche anno prima, trattato in maniera professionale ma amichevole. Soggiorno di 6 notti in stanza con vista sul retro, prima notte senza televisore (che però il giorno dopo è stato immediatamente sostituito da una persona molto gentile e tecnicamente valida), Wi-Fi pubblicizzato nelle brochure attivo in camera solo la prima sera, colazione poco varia, alla richiesta di spiegazioni e consigli con la ragazza alla reception (peraltro cordiale che conoscevo già dalla vacanza precedente), si presenta un tizio che senza qualificarsi, in maniera alquanto arrogante, diceva di prendersela con Expedia e quando gli ho detto che non era Lui a dirmi quello che dovevo o non dovevo fare, mi diceva che lo stavo minacciando a scopo di estorsione!!!!! Un Delirio!!!!! Sono andato via sconvolto!!!!

Séjour très agréable dans cet Hôtel perché dans la montagne Sarde. Voiture indispensable.
Luogosonto est un petit village très calme, loin de l'agitation des plages et pourtant très proche.Nous avons pu rayonner d'Olbia a Valledoria pour parcourir et profiter des plus belles plages de Sardaigne. Ne pas manquer la Rena Bianca à Santa Teresa : Une explosion de beauté :-))
Dépaysement assuré, le panorama est splendide.
Les chambres sont spacieuses et le personnel est très accueillant, la propriétaire parle très bien Français.
Le petit déjeuner est copieux et agréable à prendre sur la terrasse de l'hôtel.
La piscine est un peu en retrait de l'hôtel, très propre et calme.
A recommander à 50 mètres de l'hôtel le restaurant- pizzeria \"Il Girasole\"
Excellent et pas cher du tout...

Siamo capitati in questa struttura quasi per caso, ma nè siamo rimasti positivamente colpiti, l'hotel è di recente ristrutturazione, e la prima cosa che controlla in ogni camera che soggiorno è la pulizia.....tanto di cappello meticolosamente pulito e ordinato, le stanze sono di semplice fattura ma come detto molto recenti, se non si ha particolari richieste è un albergo posizionato in una zona che da accesso a numerosi posti balneari e la sera ci si ritrova in un posto al fresco. Per ultima cosa, la colazione molto buona e sufficiente per più o meno tutte le abitudini....Poi se uno cerca il top deve andare in un albergo a 5 stelle!!! Consigliatissimo!!!

Problem on arrival. Desk said that our reservation was cancelled. My credit card company refused payment! They showed me a refusal receipt to prove their point! Expedia site indicated payment would be made on arrival at hotel! I questioned this highly unlikely as my cc company has known me floor 40+ years. Desk said they had rooms available, but I would have to pay in cash! I refused and said I would call my cc company to clear the matter.
Desk put my cc through and payment was accepted.
