Not for the faint of heart. Lot of stairs.
However the view is amazing, the room was pretty and full of light. I’m obsessed with the hot tip. I think overall it is worth the prices.

This is a tough one as there were a lot of good things but overall I had to rate it a 3 star. It is not really by the sea, not sure where all the photos of the sea being directly out the window or patio were taken, but our room was facing the town streets, and buildings. It was very loud until about 2am. They charge for for using the coffee machine, which I have never seen anywhere, at any stay and for the price of the room that seems crazy. There are sooo many stairs so not for a lot of luggage or any impairment. Hard to find but they do send very detailed instructions. Could not accommodate an early check in. Plants on patio pretty dead, none in room like pictures show, just a box of dirt. Cool esthetic, comfy bed and fantastic pillows. Easy to communicate through what's app.

Apartment was easy to find and very central in Riomaggiore. Self check-in was easy and comms/instructions from staff were good.

Overall was a good place to stay but expected a lot more given the price (e.g. coffee and water were not complimentary which was surprising given how expensive the room was per night. Pictures show plants/greenery around bathtub but this was just an empty trough of soil when we stayed, which was disappointing and not as pictured or described. Cracks in walls and ceiling etc. Bed was creaky.)

Note to travellers:

The apartment is on the top floor of a very old building. You have to go up 4 or 5 narrow/steep staircases. There is no lift. Not a great place to stay if you have large/heavy luggage or have restricted mobility.

The apartment is on one of the main streets above shops, bars and restaurants so was quite noisy in the evening. Central and lively location, but not quiet/peaceful.

Jacuzzi bathtub was nice but takes 1 hour+ to fill up.

Prior my arrival I called the host several times, but he never answered my phone calls. I had a hard finding the property. This room is at a four floor without elevator. The closest parking garage is a few blocks away. The town is gorgeous.

The view was a 10/10, for sure. The place itself was okay, the upstairs bedroom was pretty warm, the bathroom only has 1 very dim light in there and it was veryyyyy dark. Also the property manager/host was really not a helpful person at all. It was our first time in cinque terre, we knew there was going to be stairs but did not know the full extent and let me tell you it was a lot of hills and stairs. They did not warn us or inform us of a luggage service. After we checked in, we asked them if there was a luggage service we could pay to bring our luggage to the car when we check out. They told us no, but afterwards we saw companies with their trucks for luggage service. The host was just not helpful at all and I probably wouldn’t stay there again.

The location of the room was amazing and not so great at the same time.
Communication with the staff was hit and miss. I reached out a few weeks prior to arrival asking about early check in and or luggage storage.
The stairs are extremely steep and not consistent size. We had one carry on and backpack each and it was a difficult climb. It would be great if this was indicated somewhere in the listing and not just in the reviews.
Once you get to the room, it is great! The room was clean and the view is wonderful.
The other draw back is that it is located above a bar in the center of town. The bar and noise until 1:00 in the morning is not conducive to a relaxing vacation.

Great location, newly renovated modern apartment. Partial sea views. This apartment is self-check in, which if you follow the information sent is easy to follow. The apartment is up a very inclined set of stairs on the 5th floor. This can be a challenge with luggage and going in and out all day, however, the apartment was totally worth it.

83 stairs but beautiful room!

The room was beautiful with an awesome view however, there were 83 steps up to our room!!! We had lots of luggage (as we just finished a cruise and took 4 trains to get there). So it was pretty brutal to get to our room. Also the air conditioning was more like a fan. Kind of typical for Europe but definitely no real cooling. The hot tub was a nice bonus!

The bedroom was clean, fresh and bright. We found it comfortable and met our needs. The bathroom was also clean but it would have been useful to have been given instructions on how to use the shower. The water in the wash hand basin hot tap was cold. Lots of clean, fresh towels were made available to us and very nice shampoo, body wash and body cream and other bathroom necessities. Unfortunately, there was no conditioner. I found communicating through WhatsApp functional and impersonal. At no point was any effort made to ‘host’ us or to offer any type of hospitality. Or indeed to let us know we could contact them about any extra needs. This aspect of our stay was disappointing. I have no idea about the eco credentials of this accommodation.

Positive: Magnificent view of the iconic buildings of Riomaggiore and the Mediterranean.

Negatives: 1. Incredibly hard to find. The owner’s instructions were woefully inadequate, and Google Maps pointed to an erroneous location. The owner did respond to WhatsApp messages, and we eventually got in… but not before several long “wild goose chases”. 2. The room was clean, but the furnishings were spartan. The bed was uncomfortable, and the frame squeaked. Also, no indoor table and chairs suitable for enjoying coffee, wine, or beer when its raining. 3. WiFi was never available during the stay. The owner responded but service never came online. This is unacceptable for this price. 4. The “private hot tub” was not inviting. A 6-ft planter beside the tub contained no plants, only dirt. Yuck! The plants on the balcony were also in very poor condition, indicating a lack of upkeep. 5. There was a coffee pot, water and a mini bar in the room, but nothing was free. Prices were not outrageous but at this price we at least expect free drinking water and coffee.

Finally, be aware that the property is on the top floor and one must navigate 6 flights of narrow, winding, poorly-lit stairs. The listing says “no elevator” but we weren’t prepared for a rigorous and challenging indoor hike, particularly with several large pieces of luggage. Be forewarned! We’re giving 2 stars … only because the view is really breathtaking. We would love to return to the area … but it won’t be here.

Worth the steep climb up! Spectacular views!

Don't believe the bad Google reviews! This place is Amazing! We booked the honeymoon suite during our 10 day trip across multiple cities in Northern Italy and this was our favorite hotel of all of them. The views were absolutely spectacular! The room was clean and well appointed.
A few tips:
1. Don't bring a big bag. We left our large suitcases in our rental car and just carried a small backpack up the stairs
2. Must be somewhat 'fit' or 'in shape' to stay here, the stairs are VERY steep and getting from the parking area to the property is at the bottom of the hill. Getting back up the hill would be difficult if you have any mobility issues. Your apple watch will definitely know that you are working out when you climb these 4 flights of stairs, but once you're up there it is worth the view.
If you have any mobility issues and cannot hike up a large hill then I would not book here, and probably would not stay in this area at all.
Good communication from the host leading up to our stay and during our stay.

The staff was not nice. They even called us and asked to take out our luggage when we have not even arrived to the property. We tried to explain that they must have the wrong number, but they continue being rude.
They never warm people that there are very dangerous, dark and steep stairs to climb in order to arrive to the room. The stair lights do not work after the second floor. It took us around 20 mins to arrive to the room carrying our luggage. They should have warmed people of how dangerous is their property.

We received, upon arrival, a very different (inferior and less expensive) room than we reserved and paid for. We communicated this with the property manager promptly. Though they acknowledged the error, were unwilling to offer any accommodation, whatsoever. We learned that “our” unit was occupied by another guest, despite the fact that we’d paid for it. We were “allowed to” relocate our 2nd night (without assistance)- to another building, hauling our luggage down and up multiple, precarious flights of stairs to the correct unit. This unit was what we’d reserved and simply lacked a functional refrigerator. What a disappointing experience.

I stayed here with a couple friends and although the apartment is tiny without many kitchen amenities, we found it perfect for what we needed. We did struggle with finding the place however, the directions were as clear as they could be. There are a lot of steep stairs getting up to the apartment and it’s not very well lit. The apartment was right next to a pizza shop, gelato, and Café with many many restaurant and shopping opportunities. The apartment was about a 10 minute walk from the train. Everything was neat and clean, and the view was spectacular. Definitely not recommended for anyone with mobility issues as the apartment is on the fourth floor, and one of the bedrooms was a loft which required climbing up steep ladder. Overall, we enjoyed our stay

Great view from the balcony on the 4th floor. Expect to carry bags up 4 flights of stairs, so definitely pack light. Not many things in the kitchen, so don’t expect to be cooking meals. Near lots of restaurants but make sure you reserve a table in advance.

The hotel has multiple different locations, and they dont tell you that, you have to look for the address that they send you in the morning. There are lots (like 8 floors) of steep stairs that you have to climb to get to the apartment, the lights for the stairs are on a timer and go off while you climb them if you're not fast. The owners/managers are quite rude, they sent aggressive messages that they later deleted. The hot tub does not get hot, at best it is luke warm. There were ants/bugs crawling on the floor when we were there. Otherwise its a nice suite.

The room it’s self it’s nice once you find the place. It’s was difficult to find needs better directions thankfully the staff at the bar/resturant were helpful. The amount of stairs and how step the stairs were was a task to climb. The listing said o and offsite parking there is NOT on site parking one parking garage for the entire town we sat and waited over an hr for a spot to open up for 35 euro a day. Also said free bottle of wine which we did not get and there is not continental breakfast zero staff onsite it’s more like and Airbnb without a kitchen. AC worked great and overall room was nice just caught off guard from what the listing states it isn’t exactly what you’re getting.

The rental was amazing. It was clean, beautiful, and comfortable with everything one would need with a great view. It is quite a climb up to the top of the stairs that is not for the weak of heart. Directions to find and get into the rental were like a scavenger hunt but part of the fun. It is located right above a happening restaurant bar so the noise goes until 11 ish, but is also right above a happening restaurant bar so trip home is easy other than those stairs. they are serious if you are packing luggage.

Place is overpriced the name isn’t the same as google maps they contact you before check in and change the location also says it’s your fault you didn’t have a valid no but they should contact you way before not a few hrs before check in! And also my hotels.com has contact no
it is also 6 floors up and steep with no elevator so luggage is a problem.
The host of the place is just rude he is inconsiderate and confrontational we had intermittent hot water so showers were cold and the WiFi didn’t work at all even though he insisted it did! We didn’t have a balcony so had no very little views the pics online are deceiving.
Also it is in the centre of town so it’s very noisy and not soundproofed
Thought it was overpriced for the location and inconvenience of climbing up 6 floors to get to your room.

Beautiful place to stay for my girlfriend and I. Very convenient location from the train station. The bed was comfortable and the whole place was very clean. There was no mini fridge only the mini bar which could only fit one bottle of wine. Overall an excellent trip but make sure to pack lightly because the stairs are no joke.

Great location and clean property. However, getting bags up to the room was quite the experience - steps from the rail station down to the marina. Followed by 3-4 stories - the initial steps are double height which makes this especially challenging.
Other challenges - no early check in. Asked for porter service for way back - got a number but the contact said he does not work with this air bnb anymore. So we had to lug our luggage back.
But the property is impeccable and clean and the view from the terrace is really awesome and made up for these shortcomings. Breakfast was great as well.

The unit shown in the photos is not what you get. I reported this to Expedia and they have dodged it, you can only talk to virtual agents that reply in circles. They refuse to answer questions.
The owner or Expedia has entered photos inconsistent with the property. For example, we picked a unit with an indoor spa tub. We received a moldy shower with a bathroom door that was broken, a heater that could not be turned off, broken rope railings to enter the unit up 4 levels of stairs that are steeper than they are wide, terrible lighting, and far short of having kitchen equipment required make anything. The photos provided were from a different unit and the condition upon arrival was far from luxury. This unit shouldn’t be more than $100 a night.
Expedia won’t comment on if the owner or if Expedia is responsible for the incorrect images, nor have they corrected it on their site. Do not expect to get help from Expedia or ownership when the problems are reported. This listing is a scam.

Place overpriced. The heating was not working and there were no blankets available. Cabinets door falling apart. The entrance to the place was a working site. Sign everywhere on how much it would cost to do anything extra.

Comfortable space and good location, with probably some of the best views in Riomaggiore. Property was more than adequate for our short stay and exploration of the area. Property is somewhat challenging to negotiate with lots of luggage, but fortunately, there is a porter service who is able to help with bags. However, the incredible view and the convenience in allowing us to see the town early in the morning prior to the masses arriving, made this property well worth the 4 flights of stairs!

Incredible stay and view - Paradise

We had a fantastic stay. The location was perfect. The view was picturesque, and the breakfast was superb.

I was worried after I booked; I saw some bad reviews on this place that it was a scam. It is NOT a scam; you need to be smart and read your emails. Check-in is contactless, but it is all laid out in a welcome letter by email and worked flawlessly. The staff was super responsive to WhatsApp texts, and we had a fantastic trip.

I will definitely stay with them again. And encourage the same. We had front-row seating at the marina and an incredible sunset. The breakfast was terrific as well. They catered to my dietary needs and made it the perfect stay. Once at the B&B, the ferry and train will get you everywhere you need to go.

My only warning is that the stairs to this place are narrow and steep, but I will do it again for that view. Parking is off-site, but it is manageable to get to and from the parking and B&B.

Amazing room in riomaggiore!!

Incredible stay at La Vista, one of the best nights sleep I got in Italy. Room was spacious and comfortable, AC was the best we had during our whole trip. The breakfast service was lovely too. My only suggestion would be to be mindful of the stairs up to the room, they are dark and steep.
