We originally booked the Bahia hotel as we've stayed there before & enjoyed it! However, it was closed & we were offered a stay at Dos Playas. Our room was modern, clean ,lovely hot water, large balcony overlooking the pool. The staff were polite, respectful & helpful. There were 3 full touring buses
so the hotel was a little noisier than expected.

As other reviews , hotel needs refurbishment to all areas. However very clean and all facilities worked well. Disappointed that there was a charge of €10 per night for parking, hence why some cars parked on the road.
All staff very helpful.
Easy 20 min walk to the marina to many restaurants and bars.
Amazing beach location so make sure you pay the extra for a beach view room.. shame that the beach cafe was closed for the season which was not made clear when booking so this limited some choice.

Water off at check-in told fixed one HR went to rest then had food then asked again still off can't flush toilets or have shower or wash hands. Went to bed 5am needed toilet all hotel smelling of poo still no water at all went downstairs asked for bottle water so I could freshen up and flush down my toilet refused. Asked again got told pay cash asked how much told 2 euro ps 2 euro had a sip of water and man said if I pd 3euro could have had big bottle. Left hotel as they said nothing can be done til 8am when receptionist arrives, went back 8am no water no help still serving food and drinks but staff can't wash hands asked for refund of next two nights and to go to sister hotel no help expedia.com in end rang them four times went to Dos Playas sister hotel they were lovely and let me have breakfast and freshen up but we're fully booked, booked elsewhere and had to get taxi, Expedia got hotel to refund eventually two days later awful

This was the gem of our trip to Spain. It was a truly last-minute booking and we had no clue as to how quaint it was. Our balcony room overlooked the beach and was fun watching the Spanish vacationers and the sunsets. We enjoyed it so much we extended our stay a second night.

Staff and location excellent. Breakfast was laughable to the point of no bread or basics - however after a quick call to their head office this was rectified and did not occur again! Location directly on beach. Sea view room comfy beds and linen, spotlessly clean, air con and fridge in room and nice balcony to listen to the sea! For the price we paid would definitely return. It is a clean 3* in a stunning location wirh use of sister hotel over the road, 10 min walk to port and a few bars in local area. See you all again soon

It is difficult to assess a resort hotel in the middle of the off season. The staff I saw were friendly and helpful, but the room was cold and very basic. Hotel catering was virtually non-existent: a non-English speaking barman producing what he could, but with no menu so no idea what was available or any means of finding out.

We had a fabulous stay at the Bahia 30°. The reception staff were extremely welcoming as were all of the staff. Breakfast was lovely and views to die for.
The hotel is a little tired in places, but extremely clean and in a great location

Very dated, would have been an excellent hotel in it's heyday, probably the 1960s.
Although being in a very enviable position, right of the beach it does not make the most of it.
Seating on the terrace is very uncomfortable, wicker chairs with no cushions.
Seemed very short on staff, but those that were there worked very hard. Louis and Jes made us very welcome and were there to assist in anyway they could.

Disappointed by the room we were given, overlooking the internal roof of the hotel, no view at all. Would have been great to have had a sea view room with a balcony.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times. It is very very basic but in such a great location . The staff are friendly and the rooms spotlessly clean. We always book a sea view balcony room and the views are stunning. We often comment that if the hotel had money spent on it it would be amazing but to be honest that could take away its old fashioned basic charm. Coffee facilities , a fridge and safe in the rooms would be a great addition . Breakfast is lovely coffee, fresh orange juice, tostadas , ham , croissant with jam all very fresh and tasty .

A rather dated hotel, however that is easily overlooked. It was clean, and the staff were helpful, friendly and professional. The views across the beach from the room were fantastic. Less than 50m away from the sea with views across the bay. Really lovely.

The hotel is old and you can't help that. However, within that the stay was comfortable and functional and ofcourse the setting is perfect.
The hotel could do with some basic investment such as some air conditioning in the general areas, some proper seating and sunbeds for the hotel guests and an easier to access cafe for the hours of 8am to 10pm.

Really nice hotel by the sea

This hotel was spot on for what we needed. Really good value for money. Felt quite Spanish. Hotel was really clean, staff were lovely and very helpful. Hotel is right on the sea front. We stayed here for 2 nights. It was early March so the hotel was pretty empty and the area was mainly shut up but would stay here again

Good place to stay

Would I stay there again yes. The rooms are basic, clean and somewhere to put your head down. The beds were very soft so if you have a bad back it may not be for you.
Great view of the beach and sea if you go for a sea view.
The staff did not speak much English but that is my problem, what would you expect in Spain! Everyone was very helpful, even had to extend the stay by one day when my flight home was cancelled.

A truely Bohemian experience staying at this old and rather tired hotel. The location is fantastic and views of the surfers enjoying the plentiful waves are not to be forgotten.
The staff were charming and while only 3 were seem were always ready to assists. Beaches in front of the property were super for safe swimming. Some restaurants were nearby and a 20 minute walk takes you to the main port area of Mazarron where there are many options.
If you want a simple old fashioned experience, this one has to be done.

HOTEL BAHIA should be renamed HOTEL BAD HERE

The room was tiny, the bathroom was a joke.. 2ft square shower tray to stand in with curtain (who has a shower curtain anymore..?) that was falling down held by a piece of string nailed to the ceiling. The shower head kept falling towards the wall.
The light blinked off and then on every few seconds. No plug in sink, no toilet brush.
Had to lift door to room to lock it. Wouldn't stay closed on the catch as it was installed wrong way round as it was for a left hand side closing door.
Air conditioning unit leaked water onto floor
Only two plug points and one of those was five feet up the wall.
Television was all in Spanish.. for an international hotel, that's another fail and staff spoke little English too, which is hard to believe as it is the principal language of the traveller who contributes to the economy.
Bed and pillow were rock hard.
The lift only has room for one person and anyone in a wheelchair would be doomed as the door you go in isn't the one you leave through. That is 90° to your right.. How would you turn your chair?

This is the worst room of any hotel I have ever stayed at..and it wasn't the cheapest at £36 a night in September for 'bed only' . It's run-down and needs major investment. Fawlty Towers at it's worst

Just the best view and situation and people but this where good thins stop.
Very tired hotel needs complete refurbishment. Room light and TV did not work second room ok but all doors and windows were splitting. NO wifi in room only in a very limited area in the lobby.. Such a shame should be the best in town

Disappointing.

Lovely location right on the beach with excellent views but the general area was a dowdy.. The hotel restaurant was closed for evening meals during the week we were there which was very disappointing as this was one of the reasons for our choice of hotel. The breakfast buffet was so minimal so we didn't breakfast there. We were told we could have coffee and croissants at the bar but they had no croissants!

Typical 1970's Spanish Hotel

Stayed four nights in September 2018 - Position wise? It was fantastic, right on the beach with a superb terrace. However the hotel is exceptionally tired looking & in dire need of a complete refurbishment. The room was small, extremely basic but very clean. I like to say that the cleanliness throughout the whole hotel was outstanding and all staff were very helpful. Also the breakfast was atrocious - Don't go bed & breakfast - would I stay there again Yes but I'd wait for the refurbishment to be done first. But that view WOW!

2 friends and few days at Hotel Bahia.

A very good, very Spanish and slightly dated hotel but overall me and my friend were very pleased with Hotel Bahia. The staff were very helpful, it does help if you can speak some spanish basics, the staff made a effort to try and talk some English. The room was basic but very clean, beds were comfy and the A/C worked really well. The hotel was just what we needed as a base for a few days. There's plenty of good bars and restaurants in the area. Its about a 15-20 minute coastal walk from the centre of Puerto de Mazzaron centre.

Definitely not a 3 star hotel. In need of a refurb very tired looking. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room and no safe. Bathroom although fairly modern very cramped, shower poor, little hot water, towels poor. On the plus side bed very comfortable and clean. Great location shame about the condition.

Superb position but stuck in a time warp

Well proportioned hotel , with garden and plenty of parking , which backs right onto a beautiful bay.
Enormous terrace overlooking the sea.
The place was very clean.
Staff were very pleasant , but there were very few of them.
Decor was very drab and old fashioned , and the small jerky lift was an experience!
We had a large sea view bedroom with very large balcony , which was old fashioned but the beds were comfortable. The shower room was adequate and did look as though it had been re-tiled within the past few years.
Apparently the hotel had won best hotel awards in the early 90s when it first opened , and with a good re vamp could easily do the same again , as the position could not be faulted.
We had a very pleasant quiet stay

La ubicación es excepcional y el hotel, antiguo y singular, una joya, pero algunas instalaciones, como el ascensor o el aparcamiento requieren una urgente renovación.
El personal de cafetería y restauración, en general muy inexperto y poco comprometido, descoordinado, lento y plagado de errores. No obstante, como excepción, agradecer la atención de Claudia, por su esfuerzo, educación y simpatía. Y también en recepción a Irma y a Carmen. Espero que se resuelvan esas cuestiones porque repetiremos.

Bien si estás en la habitación correcta.

El hotel está a pie de playa con acceso directo. Está un poco viejo pero está limpio y funcional. Aunque las habitaciones que dan a la espalda de la playa son muy calurosas y ruidosas por el aíre acondicionado y el ventilador.

Alt var pænt og rent!
Fantastisk beliggenhed på stranden. Hotellets restaurant serverer rigtig dejlig mad og betjeningen er rigtig fin og opmærksom.
Selve hotellet er noget nedslidt, og det trænger til en gennemgribende renovering. Men det vil så også give en helt anden overnatningspris, når det sker. Den nuværende overnatningspris svarer til hotellets standard.
Beliggenheden på stranden og restaurantens niveau opvejer den nedslidte bygning.

Chambre très propre avec beaucoup de rangements et une vue superbe sur la baie.

Hola, bueno tengo sentimientos contradictorios, por un lado el sitio donde se ubica es espectacular, ha cambiado de dirección, necesita mucho arreglo, las duchas diminutas y con cortina, en la habitación 112, he preguntado y las que dan con vistas a la playa también son las duchas con cortina, me han dicho que solo para 2 personas las habitaciones, el comedor lo abrirán el 01/07/2024, según me informan, bueno el desayuno café y si pides tostada con tomate y atún hay que pagar suplemento de 0’50centimos. En fin , me esperaba algo mejor el lugar, personal bien, recepción bien, limpieza bien. Gracias.

Una vieja gloria

El emplazamiento del hotel es inigualable, a 20 m de la orilla del mar, las instalaciones están un poco descuidadas de mantenimiento, están muy limpias y bien higienizadas, pero se lota el paso del tiempo ya que el hotel tendrá unos 50 años eso sumado al salitre del mar crea un notable deterioro en las instalaciones, aun así, son cómodas y acojedoras

He estado en familia, éramos 2 adultos y un niño, falto espacio en cuestión de camas, supongo que era la última habitación que quedaba y nos vino pequeña. La ubicación es espectacular lo más bonito de la estancia. Definitivamente volvería a una habitación más espaciosa solo por ver las vistas de la terraza vale la pena. En general bien.

I was on my way from Valencia to Malaga and needed a place stay somewhere in between. I choose Mazarron for the beautiful beaches.
In December almost everyhting here is closed but the HOTEL BAHIA is open all year.
I booked a double seaview room for 50€ per night and loved the stay. The view is amazing and i sat there for hours in the morning and evening to enjoy the waves and view.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Yes the hotel has seen better times and is very outdated. But it has a certain charm. My room was clean and had a large bathroom with a shower. And it was also very quiet as december is off-season and there were only three other rooms booked as far as i can tell.
The surrounding is lovely. You can take long strolls along the beach to Bolnuevo Rocks. Or take hiles along small beaches, bays and hills to Port Mazarron where you can find restaurants and bars open all year.
I had only planned one night but extended my stay for a second night to explore more of the area and to enjoy the views.
