Overall everything was great! The property was pretty amazing and entertainment was good too. We even got upgraded to a one bedroom suite with two bathrooms at check-in! This was our first trip with our baby, so all the extra room really helped.
Sadly the beach was not swimmable.
Another thing we didnt realize till we got there was that the room service was not included in the All inclusive, although it was offered at a discounted price. There also wasnt a stocked fridge with water bottles/drinks etc that we have experienced before in other all-inclusives. With the baby struggling with jetlag the first few days, room service included would have been nice to have. My husband would try to go alone to the restaurants downstairs but was refused a 'takeout food' option. They were more willing to offer a takeout box when they saw my child crying in person but not so much when my husband would try to get us food while I settled the baby in the room. We enjoyed our trip here but would probably not return with a baby/toddler given the lack of food and bottled water being available in-room.

We spent eight days in the property the properties beautiful the service is great. The bell man were great. Fernando gave us excellent service. I love how attentive they are to you. Only one thing that I did not like was that they don’t provide water in your room and that is very essential so you need to go out and buy it or have them bring it and pay $10 for a bottle of water that’s the only downside otherwise the service was wonderful great place to spend I will come back again to that place. We had a suite by the beach, even though you cannot get in the beach because it’s the rough ocean, the Pacific Ocean but it’s beautiful place to relax and enjoy the swimming pool is beautiful. They do need a little bit more service and the pool area to be more Attentive but other than that I I give them number 10

We enjoyed the resort very much, rooms were nice and clean each day. Very nice resort with a variety of pools, and the temperature of each pool was slightly different which gave you warmer or cooler options. Poolside service was great, Ricardo was exceptional. The food on site was great, we enjoyed going to Brigantine restaurant. Another convenience was being less than 10min walk to the marina.
The entertainment crew were a lot of fun, special thanks to Sarah, Leylane, Edgar, Orlando, Isaac and Rodrigo.
Overall great experience and would definitely stay here again

We had a fantastic stay & were thoroughly impressed with Playa Grande! The food quality, beautiful pools/grounds, & staff exceeded our expectations. Our room was spacious w/a great view of crashing waves & even an occasional whale from inside the room & both balconies. Wifredo (Brigatine Steakhouse) & Hector (poolside server) both deserve special shoutouts for their exceptional guest service. Our plates & cups were never empty from sun up to sun down! The organized pool activities (volleyball, card games) were a great time & helped us mingle w/other resort guests. There was an impressive effort each day to make the resort clean & ready. Each morning an army of workers could be seen putting up umbrellas, scrubbing the pools/fish ponds, trimming the palms & plants, washing pool chairs, & putting out fresh towels. Minigolf was an added bonus, and the resort was an easy walk to the marina. Minor improvements would be: throw away chipped/cracked glassware, include the coffee cart in the all-inclusive, and allow Ridge access for all guests (kid-friendly pool with a waterslide). I initially had a neutral to negative conversation messaging the resort before our trip, when I was told we couldn't be guaranteed a crib, nor could they put a welcoming message on the bed. However, both requests were honored beyond my expectation when I arrived (2 cribs in the room & a stunning flower message on the bed for a small charge). Overall we loved the resort and trip & are making plans to return!

Good for the bfast option so you can go out and do all excursions and then move to a better all inclusive place to relax, which we did. Place is clean and parking is free. We prefer the a la carte breakfast near the lobby. Location is great, near shops and mall. There’s an actual convenience store at the hotel so you can get your essentials there. Staff were nice except the check out person, he was oveeer it. Of course we’ll ask for all our receipts. They add an automatic $15 donation which you can take out.

We stayed at Playa Grande over the Easter weekend, 2026. Overall the stay was great. The room was spacious and located conveniently next to the pool area, easy access to the beach. The room condition wasn’t the greatest: dirty bathtub with broken shower that kept running hot water. The shower was extremely challenging to regulate. The A/C was not working properly. The housekeeping was excellent though -big thank you! The amenities were great overall, a few decent size pools, a really large hot tub. There weren’t enough chairs by the pool and guests kept ‘reserving’ these with their towels. The restaurants on the property weren’t great. The service was slow, and the food was subpar, especially the sports bar. It took them 45 minutes to serve us a hotdog and a pizza, and both meals were awful. Anyway, I don’t recommend this place if you want to do all inclusive. Although, the location of playa grande is unbeatable with the marina and plenty of restaurants nearby. The beach is one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen in my life! You can’t swim there, but the walks are unforgettable!

We paid $800 to upgrade our room when our daughter decided to come with us. The hotel insisted we pay more once we got there. It was another $200 to add her. They acted like we were inconveniencing them and trying to “pull a fast one.” Basically, no customer service and just wanted to make more money off us. Also, they were ridiculously inflexible. They wouldn’t let us have an uber come get us at the lobby. Instead we had to walk 5 mins to the gate. Our daughter sprained her ankle and they still made us walk. Also, food was not good and drinks costs $20 each. They jack up prices for the non-all inclusive guests. But the all-inclusive isn’t worth it because they use bottom shelf liquor. And you had to pay if you wanted even mid-level brands. Positive was Jaime at the beach pool bar. Also, breakfast at the Grande Solmar was good and not crazy high price fix. All in all, we definitely won’t go back.

Great properyy, plenty of available pool chairs at least our week (early April). Had activities each day like pool games, bingo, blackjack, volleyball, etc. Kids things as well. We had a 1 bedroom that was nice with balcony. Food and drinks were good. Great fitness center. Things to improve - room cleaning came at different times, which did interrupt us a returning to room a couple times in one week stay. Property is big which is good but you’llget your steps in.

All inclusive prices are crazy high, quoted at $145 per person per day , even for my 13 year old. They offer time shares, so beware of the bait and switch with extra coupons or deals. We had a pleasant stay overall. The hotel is in a great location, very clean, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. The food at the hotel was decent—nothing particularly special—but there are many great local dining options just a few minutes away by Uber or within walking distance near the marina, which made it easy to try authentic local food.

One thing to note is that swimming isn’t allowed at the Pacific-facing beach due to strong currents. While that was a bit of a downside for us, we understand that safety comes first. Overall, it was a comfortable stay in a convenient location.

We just wrapped up a 5-day, 4-night stay at Playa Grande Resort, and it was the perfect base for our Cabo adventure. If you’re looking for a blend of luxury, safety, and a prime location, this is it.

The Highlights:

• Service & Staff: From the moment we checked in, the staff went above and beyond. Whether it was help with logistics or just a friendly \"Hola\" by the pool, their hospitality made us feel right at home.

• Top-Notch Security: As travelers, peace of mind is everything. The security here is rigorous and professional, making the resort feel like a private, safe sanctuary.

• Excellent Amenities: The pools are stunning (perfect for those post-sightseeing dips!), and the resort facilities are exceptionally well-maintained. We spent our evenings relaxing with a glass of wine, soaking in the views of the Pacific.

• Prime Location: Being tucked right next to the Marina meant we could easily transition from the quiet of the resort to the energy of the city streets and boat tours.

Final Verdict: Playa Grande offers the best of both worlds—it's close enough to the action of the Marina but secluded enough to feel like a true escape. We’re leaving with a phone full of memories and a very high recommendation for anyone visiting the Baja!

The photos of this property on Expedia are VERY deceptive. Based on those, we booked a room for nearly $500/night, expecting to stay in the buildings with 5 pools as advertised. Instead we were dumped in side buildings with access to much smaller pools. Our room overlooked a parking lot and hostel. The front desk staff- including the “supervisor”- were completely unhelpful and unapologetic. We asked for a refund which they would not grant, sent us back to Expedia. Expedia tried to contact the manager but they there were none available (at 4:30pm!). We elected to check out rather than stay there and have not yet heard if we will get a refund. Very dishonest advertising and inappropriately high charge for a room with a disgusting view, nothing like what was expected. Do NOT recommend this property at all.

We had a wonderful stay at the resort. Property was very clean. Our maid Pauola was awesome. She made sure we had all essentials needed at hand in our room. She mopped our floors everyday given every time we came back into our suite it had that good home smell and cleanliness. We also had the pleasure to meet Rafael. He made sure to get our luggage and ourself to the room at check in with the quickness and safely manner in the golf cart. He was available every time we needed him to get us from the room to giving us good pointers to where go and eat at a reasonable price. Rafael went beyond his measures and walked with us to the gate point with our luggage to send us off home. Great attitude at all times. Thank you to all the staff at playa grande resort for the great experience. We will see you soon in July once again.

The room was great, no issues. The staff was great. We did not get a welcome packet, but later found out we would have received one when we spoke with the timeshare selling people. We declined at the start of our vacation. You can not swim at the beach in front of the hotel due to the strong undercurrent. The food at the buffet was ok. The steak house food was amazing, very good. The 2 shows were entertaining and fun. Loved the location of the Hotel, very close to the Marina. Very safe area. We would recmmend to stay. We will return.

I will never go back to any Solmar resort nor to Cabos. First we were “upgraded” to some mold smelling room at the back side of the resort, at the street side. Unacceptable, so we went back. Our original room was in renovation, so we got for one night another room and had to move the next day to yet another room. A bad start. Those two rooms were nice and large. About 30% of the place is in renovation. Extremely strict smoking rules, not even a corner in the resort you could smoke. Not allowed to swim in the ocean, which is one thing. But the moment you’re on the beach, close the water, they already come running and screaming after you and treat you disrespectfully like you’re a child. Moreover, no potable water in room, no bottles, nothing. We could buy a bottle for $9 USD every day. The resort and Cabos altogether is abusively expensive and it doesn’t feel Mexican at all (no mariachi, hardly any Mexicans, for 90% American tourists), way too American. The location however is beautiful and breathtaking! But I’ll never go back there. Mexico has so many better places to enjoy.

This is a beautiful and pristine resort located on a quiet stretch of the ocean. What you experience everyday are boats lazily floating by doing some whale watching. The staff are AMAZING and some of the friendliest I have met at any resort. Shout out to LeyLani and Rodrigo of the entertainment staff! You will feel welcomed your entire stay. The twice weekly shows are definitely worth going. The emcee Roberto is hilarious.

Fell down resort stairs that didn’t have handrails. This created a situation where I had to be medicated, back to the USA. I requested for resort to give me back credit for time not used. (Accident was day after first arrived). Through Expedia which was unsuccessful I’ve seen zero response or apologies from the resort themselves which is very disappointing. I recently stayed at Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience.
From the moment we arrived, the reception staff was extremely rude and unwelcoming. Instead of feeling like valued guests, we felt like we were inconveniencing them. Any questions or concerns we raised were met with dismissive attitudes and zero effort to help.
The biggest issue started when we discovered that the heater in our room was not working. The room was cold and uncomfortable, and despite reporting the issue, nothing was done to resolve it in a timely manner. To make matters worse, there were plumbing problems and a terrible mold smell throughout the room. The room itself felt very old, outdated, and poorly maintained — definitely not what you would expect from a resort of this level.
Because the heater was never properly fixed, we were forced to pay for a taxi ourselves and go to Walmart to purchase two portable heaters just to make the room livable. This was completely unacceptable and an unnecessary expense that should never fall on guests.
Another frustrating aspect was the pools. While the hotel advertises itself as “family friendly,” most of the pools were designated adults-only. This made it very difficult to enjoy the amenities as a family and felt misleading.
Overall, between the rude reception, unhelpful staff, broken heater, plumbing issues, mold smell, outdated room, and misleading pool access, this stay was incredibly disappointing.

Overall hotel in \"as new\" condition, staff quick to smile and help with anything you need. We added breakfast buffet to our package and found a decent variety ( omelette/waffle station etc.) Bottom line was the hotel exceeded our expectations. Two thumbs up for zero annoying vendors on beach. Two more for the staff!!

Our stay was excellent!! Our room was a pleasant surprise-very spacious. The staff was outstanding starting with check-in through checkout. We were fortunate enough to attend both the Mexican fiesta and the beach party- had a fantastic time. The entertainment staff go above and beyond. the building we were put in was under construction for the 2 weeks we stayed. Jack hammers running from 9 in the morning till 5 O clock in the afternoon. We could not stay in the room at all in the day time as the walls were vibrating. Every where you go in the resort the their are stair to climg or go down. you are not allowed to go in the ocean as there are guards telling you to get out of the water. we will never return there again ,and anybody I talk to about the trip will be told the same thing.

Pros: great service throughout the property and at Grand Solmar,
Very comfortably beds- luxury linens in the Master Suites
Great for kids; lots of activities and Entertainment team is top notch
Short walk to Grand Solmar was a highlight of our week. Gorgeous pool areas, Roca restaurant was very, very good with beautiful ocean views.
Cons: With exception of the newer, higher priced units, rooms and property in general are a bit dated.
This is a fairly expansive resort with countless paths , hallways and stairs, Many have uneven surfaces either from age/wear or by design. This is definitely not a “heels friendly” place. Bring your nicest tennies! Food is just OK. If you are non - alcohol drinkers, the options are pretty slim as far as NA beers or cocktails go.
All in all, this is a nice resort for at least one visit if not more.

Never had an issue until this year. We had to pay additional for extra people, no long just paying fora room. Nothing special, not all-inclusive, just have 4 people instead of 2 and had to pay a premium for the extra people to stay ina room designed to sleep 5.
