Amazing little B&B near Whitby

The hosts Phillip and Dee could not do enough for us, they were very friendly. The room was lovely and clean and refills of tea, coffee, biscuits etc provided outside the rooms for guests to help themselves to.
The breakfasts we had were amazing, plenty of choice and beautifully cooked.
There’s a bus to Whitby just near the house and many other places to visit nearby.

Lovely room, comfortable bed with all facilities needed. Really nice cooked breakfast with many options. Very well run by a lovely couple. Convenient for travel, bus stop outside the door for buses to Whitby and surrounding area. Well recommended.

Location on a busy road with limited parking. Twin was very small and dated. Mattress were uncomfortable both needed replacing. It was very clean and the hosts were friendly. Not a fan of pre ordering breakfast and having to state a time but it was very nice and cooked as requested.

Arrived greeted by dee very friendly room lovely huge bathroom, beautifully cooked breakfast 😋. pub 300yds up the hill, a lovely chippy 200yds spar shop next door and 4 miles to whitby seafront what more can you want

comfy and quite place to stay

Rooms are well prepared and clean, for couples coming from busy city life, this is a cosy and comfy place to stay.
The hosts are nice and do make a phone to confirm our arrival time, make sure we are greeted and keys are ready for us.
Nice breakfast are included. We have enough privacy and you can feel that the hosts are not disturbing the peace so much.

The property is really nicely done up and the folk who run it are charming. The local shops (within 50 yards) are superb and we enjoyed getting bread and meat from them for going home! The local pub was an excellent place to dine!

Excellent B&B in an ideal location

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights stay at Rowan Tree. Our small en-suite twin room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were excellent and catered for all tastes. Out hosts Dee & Philip could not have been more welcoming. We'll be back!

Super night away. Dee made us very welcome and the breakfast was superb. The double room was small but had everything we needed. The ensuite shower was great and very modern. The bed was on the firm side, but that suited us fine. Generally very happy with our night away.

Comfortable establishment close to Whitby. Nicely-decorated bedroom with paintings on the wall and flowers, attractive bed linen and there was an excellent cooked breakfast. Small bathroom.

We had a just one night stay on our way to visit Whitby and the Yorkshire Moors. Excellent location, very short distance both to Whitby and Goathland. Cosy comfortable room, clean and quiet. Excellent breakfast and superb friendly service by Dee and Philip.

Great B&B. Very quiet so we got a good night's sleep. We went for a wedding in Whitby and taxi cost £8 into centre. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Very clean rooms and we stayed in the twin room with ensuite. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it, nothing was a problem.

Enjoyed a one night stay here - we couldn't find a vacancy in a clean/quiet place in Whitby.
We got the last room, but it was fine, very quiet, at the back away from the road. It was twin bedded with an en-suite and although not a big room, was adequate for us.
Beds were very comfortable. Tea/coffee in the room.
There is parking on the front drive (for say 3 small to medium cars) and we were able to park our 4X4 there ok.
Everything was very clean which is important to us.
Friendly owners too.
Breakfast was very nice. One small suggestion - I chose the veggie sausage on my breakfast and it was like a Linda McCartney rather dry/cardboard type. Be better to use Quorn sausages or similar.
Overall, a very nice stay and good value.

Home from home Best B&B we have stayed in.

We wanted a B&B in this area for the location i.e. Near Whitby Grosmont NYMR and Heartbeat land. Great hosts room and fabulous breakfast. Room had huge TV and brand new en suite shower etc parking at front off road . What a friendly couple who run this cant do enough for guests . Best we have ever experienced .

Perfect base for a wedding weekend

Our family of 6 stayed here for a family wedding and it was a perfect base for us. We were welcomed and made to feel at home by Phil and Dee and fed very well each day at breakfast!

Lovely place small compact room with 2 single beds and a camping bed breakfast was lovely only down side tea cups and glasses not washed for second night b and b on busy maim road so leaving window open was not good but with warm weather and small room was a must

Lovely stay

Dee was very friendly and helpful on arrival, as we were going straight into Whitby for the evening, she told us the bus times and sorted local taxi numbers for our return to the b&b. Room was tidy and clean and the bed was comfortable, really good nights sleep. Breakfast was excellent. Would highly recommend and definitely use again. Was only a short visit but a good one

I don't like staying away from my home, so for accommodation to suit me it has to tick all the right boxes and Rowan Tree House certainly does that.
