The hotel is excellent, very friendly staff, and super clean. However, if you're planning to book your stay here, you need to be aware of the below so you're not surprised:

There is a live jazz band that performs every night from 8pm to 11 pm. Our room was right next to the band area. And there were tables right outside our room. So we had to navigate past other diners to get to our room.

Similarly, we had another room on the 1st floor, also overlooking the band area. You cannot tune out the music. And there was a table right outside our room that guests were seated at for dinner/music. We had to walk past other diners to get to either of our rooms.

If you're looking for privacy, and quiet, you might want to be aware of what you're getting into and request a quieter area of the hotel.

From checking to check out was fantastic. Safiyaan the reception staff was very helpful and answered all our queries. He also went the all areas of median on the map and also gave the guide prices and what to lok for. The dinning roof staff were polite and served us well. The room size is good for 2 peoeple and had a hottub/jaccuzi area. Very nice to wind down. The palce is literally next to jamaa el fna .would visit this place agin.they even pavked our breakfast on our last day as we were starting early. Overall .nice place to stay with nuce staff all around.

I did not realize that my room would be above a concert venue. There was live music which was great but I was not anticipating that when I made the decision to book. Then when I asked the gentleman who showed me my room, he told me that the room blocks sound and it will not be that bad. That was a lie. It was extremely loud and not an experience I would recommend.

One of the best hotel stays we had. Its steps away from the central market. We stayed in the Pacha Suite. With the Jazz club being below every night was a magical experience, it’s almost like a best kept secret. Not to mention the staff was more than friendly, I would 10/10 stay here again in coming to Marrakesh.

The staff is incredibly helpful and goes above and beyond to assist guests. However, the plan e room is quite disappointing. It’s dingy and dirty, and the bed is extremely hard. The bed sheets and linens also need a wash.

The pictures on Expedia were very appealing and made the place look inviting. In reality, the place is a rundown establishment in the heart of the old Medina. There’s no onsite parking, and guests are responsible for finding their own parking.
I would not recommend it al all.

I’m so glad I stayed at this wonderful hotel. It’s location is perfect for exploring the souks and Jamma al Fnaa square. The amenities and staff couldn’t be any better. The Riad (a house transformed into a hotel) has a wonderful vibe about it. It has old world charm with modern amenities. There is nightly live music from 8pm until 11pm. I loved the Jazz and Latin nights. The rooftop restaurant “The Pergola” was excellent. The tagine and backshish kebabs were some of my favorite dishes. The Casablanca beer was cold and had a clean crisp taste. The staff were phenomenal. Personable, efficient and very helpful. They felt more like friends than employees. They all spoke English but French and Arabic as well. From my first experience with Soufian at the front desk to the cooks and wait staff and even the staff cleaning the rooms, they all went above and beyond to make it feel like home away from home. I can’t wait to return! I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Marrakech!

A beautiful property in the heart of Medina. The staff was attentive and service excellent. They really pay attention to detail. Cheyma the front office manager is there for all your needs. Fetine , Sufian , Amal and the the Breakfast team , really have no words to describe how nice everyone was. You really feel you are being taken care of. I gave 3 stars to Breakfast because it was quite limited and after 3days you really get tired of eating the same things . The place is trendy with live music every night. I definitely would stay here again.

From booking to checking out I have never received better service. The Riad is an absolutely stunning hidden gem. Deep inside the busy bustling mind blowing medina is this beautiful hidden oasis of calm luxury. The room I had was incredible, it was tucked away in a little corner of the riad with its own private patio , and a spa pool within the room itself. Every single member of staff I had contact with was polite and friendly and always happy to help and always with a smile. I will most definitely be back and will be recommending this wonderful place to anyone that will listen. The food was amazing , the jazz brilliant and the cocktails perfect. I was travelling solo and felt perfectly safe and welcomed.

Our experience at this property was extremely disappointing and far from what was advertised. We booked through Expedia, where the hotel is listed as a 5-star establishment. In reality, it is a “high-end” riad at best and does not meet 5-star standards in any meaningful way. We reserved a Superior Double Room, and upon arrival we were given the Sultan Room, which was shockingly located inside the hotel’s restaurant. From our window, we could literally reach two dining tables, and throughout the evening the restaurant played loud live music until 11 PM. Our room door was no more than 30 feet from the band. There was absolutely no privacy, and we could not open our windows at any time because guests were seated directly in front of them. We raised these issues multiple times, but we were told that no other rooms were available. We had booked four nights but the conditions were unacceptable, so we left after the first night. Despite this, the hotel still charged us for all four nights, and so far Expedia has done nothing to resolve the issue. We are also filing a complaint with the BBB, because Expedia should not allow misleading properties to advertise on their platform without accountability. We will be disputing the charge with American Express as well. We are leaving one star only because zero stars is not an option. The only positive aspect of our stay was that the manager offered us a complimentary dinner and was helpful when we moved to another hotel.

I wanted to leave balanced feedback after my recent stay. The high ratings you see online are largely driven by the fantastic entertainment and food the riad provides — and to be clear, the dining experience really is excellent. The ambience, live music and overall atmosphere in the evenings were standout.

However, as far as staying at the riad, it was unfortunately quite noisy. The layout means sound travels easily, and the kitchen staff, who I appreciate have their jobs to do, were clattering and working until the early hours of the morning despite staff informing us that they stop any noise by 11pm…This made it very difficult to get consistent sleep throughout the stay.

On the positive side, the staff were genuinely wonderful, especially the front-of-house team. They were warm, professional and could not do enough to help. Their service really was the highlight on the accommodation side.

Overall, Riad Monceau excels in food, entertainment and hospitality, but if you’re a light sleeper or looking for a more peaceful night’s rest, it may not be the most suitable option.

I completely enjoyed my stay at Le Riad Monceau. The place was beautiful and quaint, and everyone was so hospitable. Chaymae and her team were amazing and very helpful at navigating the area. We even received a complimentary upgrade to our room, which was stunning and included a little sunroom. The nightly love jazz was so nice and the ambiance was a whole vibe. My only complaint was my TV not working but it wasn't a dealbreaker for me. I'm definitely looking forward to returning.

It started out bad when I got put in a room, unpacked and then 30 min later they came back stating they gave me the wrong room and they needed to move me. So I had to repack everything and move.
Then the room was very loud. They have a band playing until 11pm every night, and upstairs there was banging and moving furniture until 1 am every night since that is where the roof top bar is . The spa wasn’t nice or comfortable and the service I got was bad
The location was great, but overall I wouldn’t stay again.

Staff was not professional. I ordered dinner in the restaurant. First the server brought just plane bread, no salt, pepper, oil or anything to eat it with. I ordered starter, nothing with given with it. The main course food was also not tasty. I ordered beer and finally a Morrocan tea. The tea was not served, just brought the kettle and cup and eas told it is hot.
Finally at the bill payment, the server asked, \" How would you like to pay the tip?\".
I answered that service was very poor, however if you insist, you can add DH 50.
I paid the bill of DH 860 with such a poor service and bad food.
Will not recommend to anyone.

This place is absolutely amazing and gives off good vibes as soon as you walk in. One of the best things about it is the management; they’re some of the friendliest and most professional people I’ve ever met. This place is amazing. It was very to walk from the taxi drop off area. The staff is truly incredible. Sofian and Chayma were amazing. They really made us feel like we were guests at their own home. The restaurants at this property were all very good. The private transportation drivers they work with are all also very nice and professional. Ayoub one of the drivers speak English fluently and was very familiar with the area.

Great staff under the leadership of Chaymae is really what makes this riad standout from others. The riad was conveniently located by the main square (al fna) and the rooms were clean with an extra touch of fruits and other amenities. My wife was sick and Chaymae accompanied me to the closest pharmacy after 11pm to get me the help she needed, which was above and beyond the services you would expect! Kudos to you Chaymae for providing us a wonderful experience!

If I could give this property 10 stars, I definitely would. I have never experienced such great hospitality in all my years of traveling. The ENTIRE staff were very welcoming, super friendly, and accommodating, I really felt like home away from home. The property is very clean and beautiful. The food and atmosphere were spectacular. And the location is priceless. I was very impressed on how the whole staff took care of their customers but I would like to give a special recognition to Chaymae, the property manager. She went above and beyond the entire time when I needed something. Checked on me regularly during the day and while I was there to make sure I was well taken care of and had everything I needed. Beautiful Riad and amazing service!!

From the moment we arrived, the staff at Riad Montecau made our stay exceptional. Soffian, the receptionist, greeted us with incredible kindness and was always ready to help with any questions. Abdel Halim, the porter, was equally helpful and ensured our luggage was taken care of and assisted us with extras.

The interiors of the riad are beautiful, and the honeymoon suite truly exceeded our expectations. The hot tub in the bathroom truly added luxury and romance to our experience. The room was stunning, also impeccably clean and well-maintained.

What stood out most was the staff's dedication to providing outstanding service. They happily arranged our laundry, offered excellent recommendations for local attractions, and always went the extra mile to ensure our needs were met. The included breakfast was delicious and provided a great start to each day. We highly recommend Riad Montecau to anyone looking for a memorable Riad in Marrakesh.

I had a Pina colada, an Orange juice and a coffee. The bill was over £30. I have a receipt as well that I can send on request. There was no buffet breakfast as stated on their site. They don’t do toasts. Only bread rolls. Bed comfort was ok but rooms are quite humid and damp. My husband’s asthma triggered due to this. Some steps on the staircase are steep and inclined. We decided to leave after spending a horrible night there due to lack of health and safety measures. There was no live jazz live music which was our main reason to book this place and restaurant is very quiet and too pricey for the food quality.

The staff were absolutely delightful - cheerful, friendly, happy, and super helpful. Special shoutout to two staff members Shopihan & Chaymai who went above and beyond!

Live entertainment was very enjoyable.

The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, which added to the overall comfort of our stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

One suggestion for improvement: playing some light/subtle background music during breakfast time could enhance the ambiance and uplift the mood. Given the hotel's boutique charm, this small touch would fit perfectly.

We have traveled quite a bit and this hotel is one of our favorites - it's wonderful! The location in the old town is fabulous- around the corner from the main square. The hotel arranged rides for us and walked us to and from the car (because it is easy to get turned around in the narrow streets). We loved the rooftop bar and the pool was refreshing in the afternoons. The rooms were lovely too, with fresh fruit, bathrobes, slippers, comfy towels and good A/C. The breakfast was really good as well. The best part about the hotel really was the staff - everyone was so helpful and friendly. I emailed quite a bit before we arrived and the hotel helped arrange dinner reservations, a tour guide, and a trip to desert for camel rides and dinner. We highly recommend.

The members of staff always had a smile, they were friendly and welcoming. The riad was a delight and a proper introduction to Moroccan architecture. The restaurants and its decor were so inviting with their locations within the property strategic, one at the ground floor close to the pool and the other at the rooftop. The room was okay, with the weather temperature of over 40 degrees Celsius, the ac in the room was cool and a delight to return after venturing outside. I loved the decor all around the property and would love to visit again.

The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful during the entire stay. We’re greeted with hot tea and pastries upon arrival. We were allowed to check in about an hour early.
Restaurant on top of the roof is nice but we were unable to eat at the other restaurant on the base level because it was closed on the evening we wanted to eat without notice. Room was clean and spacious. Private patio was a plus! Room service came every day. Mini-bar in room is not included in stay. I would definitely recommend this Riad!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming 9-bedroom Riad in Morocco. The location was absolutely perfect—just a short walk to the main square, the medina, and all the key sights. What truly made our experience special was Chaymae, the main staff member, who looked after us from start to finish with such a warm and friendly personality. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her, and she made us feel right at home. The food was also excellent fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!
The jazz singers are another treat while we enjoyed our Dinner.

This was an absolutely perfect Riad in Marrakesh. From the moment we entered the Riad, Sofiane made us feel like we were coming home. He was extremely welcoming and genuinely wanted to ensure we had a great stay - providing advice on places to go and going out of his way regularly to ensure our comfort. He also arranged for my wife and I to enjoy the private terrace and mini pool area - serving us lunch there.

Equally welcoming was Chaymae the manager. She made us feel special, and ensured that our 20th wedding anniversary was truly memorable by setting up a last minute reservation at their sigautee restaurant, making recommendatios for our meal and giving us an incredible table to enjoy the wonderful jazz show. She repeatedly checked in on us and kept a smile on her face from morning to night - with so much dedication to all her guests.

The restaurants, the Riad accomodations, the service at every turn was 5 stars. The location is also ideal - and while steps from the Medina the location was pure serenity.

It was amazing riad and Shema was externally helpful and accommodating. Stayed there for 5 nights and had dinner and lunch there few times. It had great jazz music every night and Monday the best one. Definitely will stay here again!! Also booked the grand royal spa and hammam, which was again a great experience here.

My stay at Le Riad Monceau was excellent!!! From the moment we arrived, the front desk manager, Chaymae was amazing! She was so helpful in explaining places to visit and restaurants to try. She took her time in showing us the Riad and even had tea and pastries for us to try. The staff were all extremely nice and helpful.
The location is great, it's right in the middle of everything, from shopping to amazing restaurants and nightlife. The Riad has amazing jazz by the pool and a beautiful rooftop bar/restaurant. We also took advantage of their spa and had a great time. I can't say enough great things about this place other than I highly recommend it for anyone traveling to Marrakech!

What a lovely place right in the heart of Marrakech! We really felt like we were staying with friends or family. Chama was the most lovely and talented hotel manager we’ve ever encountered in our extensive travels - she is an absolute gem!

Oh and the jazz band was super talented, the food was great, and the drinks were top notch. Our expectations just kept getting surpassed at every turn. We will always have fond memories of Le Riad Monceau!

The Riad is also a jazz club / restaurant. Amazing fun if you like Jazz and late nights, but if you are looking for a quiet stay, this is not for you. Live jazz every night until midnight, and your bedroom will be right next the restaurant or bar. We loved it as totally unique. But better to know what you’re letting yourself in for!

One of the best vacation we had for a long time. We have been traveling quite often and been to many different countries before. We were most impressed by the management staffs especially Zakarya manager who was very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend asking her to help you on your stay. The dinner staffs are also extremely nice especially the waiter Aumaima giving us a very memorable dinner. The captain and the hostess are also extraordinary and so surprised they kindly thank you in words and not accepting our tips, which is very unusually in Morocco. I personally think excellent services deserve monetary encouragement. The hotel really hires good managers. Thank you for the enjoyable stay and memorable services in Morocco.

Disappointing - serious health + safety concerns

We booked 4 nights in the honeymoon suite at Riad Monceau but left after one night due to serious concerns with the condition + safety of the room.

The suite includes an in-room hot tub but has almost no ventilation—just a small extractor fan and an open hole in the wardrobe wall connecting the bathroom and bedroom. The bathroom walls and ceiling were extensively covered in black mould, and the entire suite felt and smelt extremely damp + foetid, including the bedding and furnishings.

The hot tub ran constantly with no guest-accessible controls, and when we attempted to use it, my partner suffered minor burns from the scalding water. Staff shut it off via a hidden circuit breaker, and the manager sent burn cream when contacted.

While staff were polite and apologetic at the time, when we chased up the refund of the remaining nights, a refund was refused, and hotels.com have been unable to resolve for us. We were offered a different room, but given this was the state of the property’s flagship suite, we had no confidence in the rest of the accommodation.

The riad itself has charm — the bar and restaurant are stylish, and the atmosphere in the evenings is lively — but as a hotel, I would strongly suggest avoiding. One final note: the honeymoon suite is located directly beneath the rooftop bar. there was a lot of noise from staff packing down until around 1:00 a.m.

Overall, this was a deeply disappointing and uncomfortable experience, and the room was frankly unsafe.

Perfect oasis of calm and joy

I think this was the best hotel experience I’ve ever enjoyed.
The service was exceptional, the people lovely, the room was spotless and the whole atmosphere of the hotel was perfect.
It truly is an oasis from the chaos of Marrakesh, and felt so relaxing to come back there knowing we had such amazing comfort awaiting us!
And the added bonus of music and entertainment every evening just topped it off beautifully - as others queued up for access to the bar and restaurant we were treated like royalty as guests, and afforded every luxury.

We really enjoyed our stay at La Riad Monceau. Everyone who works there is so friendly and helpful. The driver was waiting for us at the airport, then the porter was waiting for us at the drop off point to take our luggage and guide us to the Riad, and then we were welcomed with tea/sweet treats and info about Marrakech from the hotel host. The location is perfect. It’s a close walk to Jemma El Fna square which is a great jumping off point for each day. We asked for a walking tour guide for our first day and a private driver to take us to the desert and then Fes, and they happily arranged it all for us. We really enjoyed the Hammam and rooftop jacuzzi and all of the restaurant/bars in the Riad as well. They will always accommodate you at the restaurants even though there is a line up out the door and down the alley every night. They have a live jazz band each night which we loved but you can hear from your room so if you are sensitive to noise, keep that in mind (however it ends at a reasonable time each night). Everything is perfectly clean and well maintained, and there is a great breakfast each morning. Overall we would happily stay again if we were to visit Marrakech again.

Le Riad Monceau was an absolute gem in the heart of Marrakesh! From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, the service was impeccable. The staff went above and beyond, and I have to give a special shoutout to the young lady who checked me in—she was amazing! (I wish I could remember her name, but she’s in my video!)

The location is unbeatable—right in the middle of everything, making it easy to explore the vibrant souks, historical sites, and buzzing nightlife. Staying here truly felt like being immersed in the culture and energy of Marrakesh. Highly recommend!

Staying at Le Riad Monceau was like walking into a secret heaven. The smell of rose fragrance enchanted my senses as we walked in the door along with the moroccan decor. I felt a sense of peace and ease upon entering. We were greeted with the traditional Moroccan mint tea (which I love) and cookies. One of the cookies (Zwina) had a hint of cinnamon which is my favorite. Hosni provided us such comfort in welcoming my son and I. He made our stay feel like we were at home! We were immediately upgraded (Hosni was too sweet , I was in Awe) to a suite room with a jacuzzi! I didn't even mention prior that I was celebrating my birthday! It was really a gift to experience such luxury! My son was thrilled (I was introducing him to his moroccan roots)! We never had a room with a jacuzzi! I tried the haman oriental massage for the first time and it was so relaxing. In the morning we had a traditional moroccan style breakfast sitting by the pool in the middle of the Riad. The entire experience was magical! The location of the Riad is perfect for easy navigation to the medina. I would highly recommemd staying here and dip your toes in luxury.

Le Riad Monceau is a great place to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was terrific. The restaurant and bar upstairs were very nice. The location is perfect - close to the main square and everything that makes Marrakesh unique. One caveat - if you don't want to hear loud jazz music from 8-11 every night, reconsider. Jazz is an important part of Le Riad. Otherwise, I recommend this wonderful place in a wonderful city.

Noisy jazz club and restaurant

As other reviews have said this is a jazz club with a few rooms attached. It is not mentioned in the hotels.com description that there is live music from 8pm to 11pm every single night. The venue doesn’t get quiet until 11:30pm. It is especially noisy if you have one of the rooms facing on to the main restaurant area. Our first room was on the staircase to the restaurant and so people were walking noisy by the door every few minutes.

The other riads we stayed at in Marrakech and Fes during our trip were very peaceful places to relax after a day sightseeing, this one was definitely not.

We asked to be moved to a quieter room which the staff arranged although we had to go and remind the porter to bring our luggage over. The first room had a very lumpy duvet which clearly had been washed and not dried properly. This should have been spotted by housekeeping.

The other 5 star riad we stayed at in Marrakech was better than this one.

The staff were good, especially the female receptionist who was very friendly and welcoming.

We had dinner in the restaurant and the food and drinks were great but it was overpriced. Breakfast was very good.

The property boasts two restaurants and a Jazz quartet every night until 11:00 pm. If you are looking for a quiet esthetic this is not the place for you. It is walking distance to shopping and restaurants in the Jemaa El Fna. The staff are very attentive, but do work on \"Marrakech time\". The only sour note was the missed booking for our hotel to airport shuttle which lead to a late departure from the hotel/Rhiad early Saturday morning. The vehicle pickup is a few hundred meters. from the hotel which forces you to walk with luggage to your pickup. However, the staff will dolly your luggage for you and lead you to the pickup point. It's an old world experience with all the trappings of a new world stay. Very enjoyable. My only disparaging point is the beds are not cushioned and have very little give. If you have any back issues you will notice them immediately.
