Chose this hotel due to recent positive reviews. Disappointed on arrival. Luckily the reception, dining room and bar were much better than the external building which looked neglected. Our bedroom was like the black hole of calcutta.(204) Large room, but very dark with a small window on to a roof with a noisey ventilation extraction unit. This led to the smell of cooking from 4.30am. There was no fridge, water or aircon.
The breakfast was ok. Food in the restaurant was good.
We were in the minority as mere tourists and not at the hotel for the music. The clientele we encountered were miserable and rude, pushing in at the bar. The young staff appearing to relent to their aggressiveness. On a more positive note the hotel was very clean and the cleaners were friendly. However would we stay here again, definitely not! Bundoran is a run down town with numerous boarded up pubs, restaurants and shops. Beaches are nice but the infrastructure is very poor.

The location couldn’t be better IF you get a room facing the water. Be sure to request. It’s a little more but worth it. We started in another room and overlooked the roof and heating/cooling. A bit dated decor but kept up. Plenty of parking. Restaurant on sight but food just ok. Friendly staff. May be a regular stopover for tours as one arrived while we were there.

While the room was clean, you could tell there were some areas that need updating. Also, if traveling with luggage there are a lot of stairs to carry luggage up and down. Another thing to note is that you walk in to a restaurant, but it is where you check in to the hotel. A bit on the odd side.

When we were checking out we asked the receptionist where we could buy a new umbrella nearby. She went and got us one from their lost & found collection, saying “people leave umbrellas behind in their rooms all of the time”. She saved us time and money AND saved the planet some landfill space by recycling a perfectly good umbrella!

We informed reception quickly after arrival that we had no hot water. After an hour and another visit to reception a nice guy was sent to confirm that we had no hot water. After booking an upgraded room we had to shower in cold water. The water was hot. To be fair the next morning I asked for some concession which was given by the lady on reception who was excellent on check in and check out.
We also had contact with bar staff, and housekeeping who were all brilliant. However we ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The staff were soulless. Whilst efficient not one smile and my wife and I both noted , no eye contact. We felt they wanted us in and out asap.

The reception and front lobby has been upgraded to a more modern style which is excellent. The staff are amazing and the breakfast was perfect. The hotel doesn't have room air-conditioning and we arrived in a heatwave in July 2025.Upon the receipt of a 20 Euros deposit the hotel will give you a desk fan if it's needed. It definitely made a difference to our stay.

we only had one meal in the restaurant (not the main one where you need to book) and would not rate the food as good. The bed was ok, not great, and the pillows were hard. The room was so hot on arrival and even though we opened the window, it did not cool down enough for a goods night sleep. The windows were dirty and had lots of cobwebs. Room staff good, we did not require our room to be serviced but they gave us extra tea and coffee and milk. Overall, the hotel is well positioned, within walking distance of supermarket. Only 1 lift. Lots of parking.

Parking is too far away and they make you walk in the rain all the way around the place rather than having a side or back entrance.
Check in took forever because she kept doing other things for other people.
The internet did not work and hadn't for weeks. Unacceptable!
There is no AC. The one window only opened a crack and the heat comes on according to their schedule and levels, not the room occupant’s. We turned the radiators off and were still cooking. We called down and asked for help. They "fixed" it but the heat stayed on. The guy they sent could not figure it out and said something was broken. They finally re-accommodated us to another room at 10:40 pm.
Unfortunately this new room was so heavily fragranced that my wife's allergies kept her awake much of the night.
The beds were so lumpy and hard in the new room that I tossed and turned all night.
The breakfast we paid extra for was ok as far as far as it went but the choices were so few.
These are not just bad luck things. These are decisions on the management’s part to do things on the cheap in spite of how it will negatively affect their clientele. I feel cheated.

The hotel is clean and friendly.The only things letting it down is the WiFi which is terrible non existent really. Plus I ordered vegan stir-fry with rice but got served egg noodles the waitress wasn't bothered. Other than that our stay was fine.

When we entered our room we noticed right away how cold it was. The radiator was warming up and cooling down. We eventually contacted reception and a maid arrived with a radiator and blankets...we were still wearing our coats and scarves. A man then arrived to tell us the radiator was air-locked. WE got wrapped up in the blankets. The room was very slow to warm up and the bathroom not at all which meant we could not have a bath. So we left to have a meal in the town and on returning found the room had warmed up.
