Cute little cabin, but small and basic with little room to get around beds. It had small table for two, sink, fridge and two burners. In beautiful wooded area, with deck. We didn't have dinner there but breakfast was great with many options and hot drinks. over looking their beautiful property. They offer an upstairs lounge overlooking their pretty property which would be enjoyed by groups i am sure. Liked that the bathroom temperature could be controlled separately from the sleeping area (separate radiators) but found the pillows too floppy and soft, and the outlet placed poorly right behind the bed.

Unfortunately, this was one of our least favourite stays. The heating didn’t work, we were freezing all night, and the room felt very basic and dated. We stayed in the annex building, which didn’t add much charm either. I was quite surprised by the high ratings; personally, I found it to be very average at best. Free parking is available.

Absolutely amazing. There are three areas to stay. Cabins, long single story building with private little outlooks/access to woods, and a hotel type. We stayed in the one level building and it was incredible. So quiet and clean. Large rooms. Perfect views for the lights right out your room. Staff was SO nice. Fav hotel in Iceland.

I was a bit confused about whether or not I'd need special instructions for check-in, but actually if you are going to arrive in their regular time window (4-10pm) then you don't need to worry about any special instructions. In addition, the included breakfast was great. I also loved the snowy views from the window and the ease of parking close to the front door. Thank you for a great stay!

This was our favorite hotel out of the 10 hotels we stayed in. The cabin was adorable. This was the inly hotel we slept in and hung out in the living room drinking tea. The reception was kind enough to show us yo the cabin and let us know when and where we could see the Northern Lights and we most assuredly did.

Wonderful 3 generation fun holiday
Booked 2 triple sharing cottages in early April. Cottages were in a quiet area away from the road and reception. One had a small kitchenette which was perfect for us (3 generation of 5) as we could cook our noodles as it was too cold to go out for dinner. My granddaughter was delighted as she could build snowman with the snow outside our cottages. Heating elements were good; we felt cozy and warm in our cottages.

The room had a strong unpleasant odor. There was a dog dish next to the back door, possibly related. Also, at checkout I was charged about $35 because I mistakenly said one person when I booked online instead of two. If I had correctly booked a room for two people at Expedia there woukd have been no price difference. The manager took advantage of my mistake to charge $35 for an extra breakfast. Ridiculous.

we stayed two nights. We were in the back building which was a little dated. Room was good size, one of the lights in our room was missing the cover and bathroom was tiny. Breakfast was delicious. This is a family run hotel and everyone was so nice. They offer a laundry service which was great for us since since we were traveling for a week already. We used the hot tubs one night. Property is 5 minutes from town and with a beautiful view. I recommend this hotel and hope to come back someday.

Property is located in the outskirts of Egilsstadir and so there is not much around the area (you have to drive if you'd like to get anywhere).
Because it was a little isolated, the property felt very peaceful. We were pleased with the room and service provided. Breakfast, which was included with our stay, was very good and had a lot of variety.
Only drawback for me was the size of the bathroom and shower/bathroom set up. It was a little small and had to be careful not to get entire bathroom wet.
I would recommend this hotel.
Because it was a little isolated, the property felt very peaceful. We were pleased with the room and service provided. Breakfast, which was included with our stay, was very good and had a lot of variety.
Only drawback for me was the size of the bathroom and shower/bathroom set up. It was a little small and had to be careful not to get entire bathroom wet.

This was a cute little property, and I have to commend the young man who checked us in when we arrived, gave us a tour of the place, and walked us up to our room. We felt more than welcome, and that's all thanks to him. Overall, I'd just say that the place felt a little dated, and the amenities were fairly basic. There was a nice hot tub area that we did not have time to use, and the breakfast was more than adequate. But the decor leaves a little to be desired, and there are no TVs in the rooms. Somehow we overlooked that part of the hotel listing, so it was a bit of a shock when we arrived and realized there was no TV. Otherwise, everything was perfectly suitable for a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast before heading out on our next hike.

What a wonderful place overlooking town. Service was outstanding. We were shown to our rooms, given suggestions for an excellent dinner in town. Hot tubs were very nice. To top it off, we finally saw the northern lights!!

Great quiet stay.
We stayed in a great cottage/cabin that was very private and quiet. Could not have been more pleased. Breakfast was as expected, but, there were two staff members constantly monitoring everything and keeping everything fully stocked and any spills quickly cleaned up. Staff showed real pride.
