Very cool place! The interior is very spacious with multiple sections, including 2 kitchens. Lots of places to sit and lounge, or play or socialize or be productive. The host that night was a very pleasant gentleman who injected some extra character into the space.
The main lounging and bar area is very cool and it looks like they have events there regularly, but unfortunately not while we were there (1 night).
2 of us stayed in a triple room (ended up being cheaper than another option) and it was great with good accessible outlets, good blackout curtains, a sink in the room, and keypad entry.
Breakfast was included and yummy.
Very interesting area in the peninsula as well -- I would absolutely come back to stay here.

Staff were friendly and facilities sufficient. Very eclectic atmosphere and could do we a facelift in my opinion. Room and bathroom were clean but small. Felt that it was very expensive for what it was and there were additional charges for everything. Even a cup of coffee is chargeable.

(May 25), around 9:30 PM, our guests started taking showers. However, after only a short period, the hot water completely stopped and turned freezing cold in all 5 rooms. This caused an incredibly distressing and unacceptable situation—some of our guests already had shower gel all over their bodies and were forced to rinse off with freezing cold water. We contacted with customer agent about our complaint . We strongly request partial refund.

Fantastic place for the money! Quick checkin, well equipped kitchen had free food left behind by previous travelers, and comfy rooms.

I lucked out and was present for an Àsgeir (one of Icelands top Pop Artists) concert in the main room from 9-11pm. My only complaint was that staff kept music going until 2am, for whatever reason. At least they have earplugs at the front desk?

This place is probably great if you are young and/or don't want to sleep. Room was NOT sound proof as per website and it was v v loud w banging doors, kitchen clatter, talking, music till about 11 pm. I could find only 2 bathrooms for lots and lots of people. Staff were v nice and helpful. Good vibe to the place but not our style.

Very good location just off of the highway. We were taken aback a bit by the outside appearance but once inside, found it to be inviting and our room with a private bath was great. We enjoyed the artwork on our wall and found the gentleman checking us in to be very helpful and friendly. While this property was outside of the type of properties we stay at, we enjoyed out stay and would definitely stay again.

This hostel definitely has a fun vibe and a good atmosphere. My husband and I stayed in a private room with a private bathroom and thought it was a decent night's sleep. The kitchen area isn't the best because there is only one stove, so only one group can be cooking at a time, which makes it difficult to guarantee that you will be eating when you want and means you either have to start early before the dinner rush or wait until the previous group is done.

We had the family room with a private bathroom. It was very new and clean. The shower was a little tricky though as the curtain did not go all the way down to the floor so water can easily get out. Also, it would be even better if there's a desk in the room. The two small stools were not enough for the 4 of us to put our stuff.

Very unique. We stayed in one of the new rooms which was nice except the shower was very tiny. They should have just left the curtain off and it would seem like more space. Also no place to put shampoo etc in the shower.

Since this is a hostel, they have shared bathrooms which I didn't realize while booking. They also have some rooms with attached bathroom. When we got there to check in the person there told us there were some repairs going on and there was no hot water. We decided to find a different place and she mentioned she will contact the manager to get us a refund as no one was available. I contacted them from the booking site a day later and they refused to give a refund. Overall the place is decent and lady who showed us the room etc. was very nice but the management has been terrible and keep refusing to give us a refund of our booking even though its their fault.

Freezer Hostel is a combination of hotel rooms and hostel/camping accommodations. It has an artsy vibe and good shared amenities including a kitchen and a very welcoming common area where they host live music and other events on weekends. We cannot speak to the rooms at the property itself because our room was not available upon arrival due to an electricity issue. While this was poorly communicated before our arrival, the host more than made up for this by being super helpful when we arrived and by housing us in an alternative apartment around the corner that was definitely an upgrade from the single room with private bath we had booked. The staff were so friendly and I wish we would have had time to come back to the hostel to enjoy their events but we were always too tired from touring. I would return to this property in a heart beat. It seems like a very warm and inviting place to stay.

this place is pretty far from restaurants but our main priority was to have a safe place to sleep for 1 night before we continued on our journey and it was perfect for that. they have a great common lounge that looked stocked with games, but we were so tired from hiking and driving all day that we didnt get to use this. there are lots of great and funky art pieces on the property and paints on the walls. thank you for a great stay!

Staying at the Freezer Hostel was unique. It had delightful art and provided an opportunity to meet people. We reserved a family room for 4 people and the double bed was really small for two adults. It was a great location to check out some if the sights in the National park.

This is a good value hostel for exploring the peninsula. We stayed in the Time Machine Room - which had 4 bunk beds in it. There are no lockers or privacy curtains, but the blackout curtains work really really well. They also provide some great 3M ear plugs for free. The kitchen is a good size and we were able to cook breakfast and dinner without fighting for space. Lovely huge common room which also doubles as a bar/live music venue/and hosts a theatre. Unfortunately nothing was on when we stayed (Mon/Tuesday night) but they do have events on Thurs/Fri/Sat. There were two bathrooms for the hostel, and I was worried about queuing but ended up having no issues at all using a bathroom when needed. Rif is a very small fishing harbour/village and there isn't really anything to do in Rif itself - you'll want to get out and about. Parking was easy.

This place is really wonderful. The staff is very friendly, and there is a lot of space to relax and feel at home, and a fully stocked kitchen for making meals. The only minor complaint I have is the shower for the front dorms, you can't adjust the water temperature yourself, it's already pre-set, and it's lukewarm at best, and also a camp shower so you have to continuously hit a button to get water. So, in the winter that's a little rough. So I recommend booking the back room with the private bathroom if you are really into hot showers. :D Other than that, I loved it here!

Awesome vibes and incredible lounge, huge and warm and welcoming. Showers&toilets were pretty bad though- barely warm water that you had to keep pressing and couldn't really control and only 2 stalls for everyone (wasn't such a huge deal but not the best). Also had some kind of leak in the dorm like rain water or something. Other than that it was really nice atmosphere and a really cool place to spend a night.

I liked staying here! They have interesting shows, which I didn't partake in because I was too sleepy, but it's nice that they put them on. Clean place with clean beds and rooms and bathrooms. Showers were nice.

Self service check it. The theme of Aurora rooms a a bit scary But I booked family room and it looks like a recently renovated place and it is okay. Clean and tidy, the shared kitchen is lacking lights and a bit dark, the common area is really a gem of this guest house, has the mojo of youth hostel.

Belle découverte que ce lieu mêlant culture et hébergement. Il est encours de rénovation. Les chambres sont toutes neuves et pourvues d’une douche et wc.
La salle commune en plus de la cuisine est spacieuse, agréable avec ses grands fauteuils et canapés.
Au calme, par contre pas de commerce dans le village.

Assez surpris à l’arrivée (dans une petite zone d’activité puisque le bâtiment est une ancienne poissonnerie). Le concept est un mix entre dortoirs et chambres individuelles. Ce qu’on a pris avec sdb personnelle (Aurora3). Cuisine commune si ça vous tente, et un salon bar très sympa pour déjeuner, jouer, lire ou soirée. Un concert soft un soir. Super. Chambre très correcte et on craignait le bruit des activités mais pas du tout. Belle expérience
