We had 4 people in our room and there were only 3 pillows. We asked the front desk for one and they weren’t able to get one for us until the next day, which wasn’t helpful as we were only staying one day.

Nice location and facilities, 5 minutes walk to the beach. We had a two bedroom villa facing the marina. The bed was very comfortable, the place was quiet. It was well equipped with a dishwasher and washer and dryer. The resort is older, but well maintained. There are stairs in the units that could be problematic for people with mobility issues. Prior to our visit, we had read several reviews complaining about the parking. Parking was not an issue for us, it is just a couple of minutes from the units and reception area. The resort has two nice pools with loungers for guests to enjoy.

The room had a ceiling leak for 3 of the days during the week we stayed there. They offered no compensation for the inconvenience. We had no housekeeping during that week until they showed up 10 minutes before check- out time. The staff was pleasant but didn’t seem to communicate with each other.

WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!! DON'T STAY HERE!!!
We are a family of 6. 5 adults and one 7 year old child with disabilities. It was a family reunion we had planned for 6 months.
We arrived on a Saturday afternoon at 1:30 pm. They did a precheck registration on us.
All the front desk staff seem confused and disoriented and clueless when we approached them later on around check in time for our room status.
Finally, after much deliberation by front desk employees, our room was assigned to us.
We carted all our luggage and groceries for our two week stay to our unit. Mind you, there is no elevator at this resort. (Dont know how this commercial building code was not enforced). You have to tackle multiple steps up and down to reach your unit. There are no ADA ramps for handicapped guests. There are no flat luggage carts to put your suitcases on in order to roll them to your unit. There are no bellboys or girlboys or valet service.There is no parking or unloading zone for guests. So we finally reach our unit, unpack, and get settled in for our 2 week family reunion stay at Park Royal Club Cala.
We turn up the AC. After an hour or so, it is still hot in the unit. A call was made to the front desk. Resolution : \"we will move you to another unit and have staff help you move there.\" All 5 of us adults begin the move. 3 of who are senior citizens with health issues.
We spent hours of our personal vacation time
getting resettled in the new unit. All in all, it took 4 to 6 hours to get situated.

No elevator (we have a baby/toddler so lots to bring up and down!)
$25/night parking - when she told me $75 this is for private parking I asked if there was anywhere else she said no.
There was a lot 2 mins down the road that’s free!
The AC was very loud in the unit- not sure why
They put knives in the bottom drawer (smh)
The door to the balcony didn’t lock (only an issue bc we have a toddler)

Room was pretty great. My biggest suggestion would be to install faucets that regulate how much water comes out at once. The pressure was beyond incredible, but hot water runs out extremely quick.
The shower curtain also did a terrible job of containing water from escaping the shower.

At one point, around 5:30PM, I’d called the front desk for new bath towels and was told some would be sent up. By 5:45, nothing, so I went to the front desk to ask. They claimed I hadn’t called and said they then put in the request. At 6, I called again at which point they said the towels were outside our room, which was not true. We finally got towels delivered around 6:15, which made us late to the pool for a drink (which said they closed at 6, even though the pamphlet shows 19:00, or 7PM).

All in all, decent stay. The fact that the towel cabana and bars close so early seems silly for a resort, especially when people explore the island during the day. It’d be nice to get to the hotel for a drink, but that was impossible.

The view was absolutely beautiful from our patio and the room was very clean and comfortable. The living room sliding door should have a thick curtain for privacy like the bedroom. Also staff at check in should offer to help with the luggage since we had to help some older guests to carry their luggage up the stairs to their room because they did not think to ask for help and no one offered. We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful resort!!

We needed new sheets the day we arrived due to the ones provided were still with sand and dust. When housekeeping brought the new ones the woman wasn't too amicable about bringing new sheets. The bed also caused my wife to itch at night. The power went out at least once every 2 days for less then an hour (I blame LUMA for that). There is a cold spot on the bottom of the stairs which condenses the moisture creating a slip hazard, we figured a towel would suffice but it should be looked into. The room had 2 lightbulbs that didnt work one in the couch and the other on the balcony, the rest were dim and worn out.

The front desk staff are super nice and helpful. They handled all of our questions and requests with attention to detail and a smile.

Master Room had a broken toilet lid. The A/C was not able to be changed so the rooms were either too hot (if you turned it off) or too cold because we couldn’t adjust it. Pool closed early and there wasn’t anyone at the swim up bar. Restaurants close too early too for those site seeing and getting back late.

As a former Road Warrior with over 6,000 hotel stays during my 40 year of traveling DO NOT STAY HERE, OVERPRICE , for condition of unit.

Do NOT suggest to anyone who stays at a modern day hotel like Hampton Inn

several alive, unit was old and needed a rehab, no modern day conveniences, just the minim basic outlets and have were taken by lights.

Parking issues
nothing near the unit, $25 for lot close to unit

Staff at front desk
rude, switch to Spanish as I was standing at desk, didn’t know I speak and understand Spanish.

Unit was like a super 8 or motel 6 in the US

My husband and I stay at Park Royal was nice. I like all the amenities that provided. We stayed in room C1046 and when we first walked in there was a smell damp smell. The last day of being there, in the one of the rooms water was coming coming from somewhere.

The property need updating! The Villa (1021) that I stayed, the master bath tub was rusty and the floor tiles were missing grout and the surface was very rough. The kitchen fridge had a broken shelve and the cabinets were very old. The Villa inside looks very run down!

Regarding my recent stay at Club Cala, I must, regrettably, offer a 3-star rating. Despite the assessment of a cleaning fee, cleaning services were not rendered. Moreover, a regrettable miscommunication occurred during check-in concerning the outstanding balance, which was a significant disappointment. Further, the appliances, specifically the washing machine, operated at an excessive noise level, and dishwasher detergent was unavailable. I trust that future experiences will meet a higher standard.

While it beautiful on the outside, it is difficult to navigate your way around to find the villa. This is partly due to construction, which made us go all the way around when we were actually needed to go as this directly across from the check-in center. But the parking we had to go all the way around and walk down with our stuff. Stairs no elevator. A staff member rolled by us in a golf cart, watching a struggle with our luggage and offered no help at all. Once we got to the villa, we thought it looked nice and roomy. There was a door we couldn’t open and called maintenance in. it was just jammed look like it had been/the door jammed and busted so the door was hard to open without using your body weight to open it and close it. That being the good part, once we were in the king, master bedroom, the area that was hard to get into, there was a urine smell that would made it difficult to sleep, and the moisture was so heavy that the floors were wet so is the screen it was disgusting getting in and out of bed I had to use a towel and wipe my feet every time I got up and went back into the bed. Couldn’t wait to wake up and leave and be on our merry way. Parking also wasn’t described when we rented the place off of Expedia parking was $25. I think if we had planned to stay longer, we would’ve moved to another villa and gave it another chance since we were already there. Seems like there’s a lot of people that liked it there restaurants and lots of golf and the bays right there.

Aside from an initial hiccup on check-in that was remedied within hours, the villa we stayed in was amazing. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful and the experience overall was great.

Just make sure the villa you get is the villa you booked in the pictures. Different parts of the facility vary.

Onsite gym is small and part of a crowded gold club, but we hardly stayed there for the gym. Area is well kept, secure and never overcrowded.

To begin the property was dirty and smelled as if no one lived or stayed there in an awhile and all they did was clean, actually they didn’t clean! I killed a roach and had to buy supplies to clean the apartment and the bed is completely old and worn out and it’s is very out dated in the sense no cares of appearance of the complete apartment. Although this property has an extremely beautiful appearance, and appears to be welcoming at one’s first visit, the entire stay was a nightmare. After a long day of delayed flights we arrived to Park Royale where we were given a key by front desk to the a room who already had a family in it and we were thrown out by that family, we were then given a second key to another room which did not work and security had to come. Room had no working electricity, plumbing was clogged. We were supposed to be there 2 days and after the first night front desk locked us out of our room again. We asked to have room change and we were denied. Per front desk manger she stated her employees were to blame for the mishandling of the rooms. Weekend employees blamed manager as she placed guests in room without registering them indicating room is empty. Maintanance man stated he was simply there to evaluate and assess the problems in each room not to repair. Repairs would need to wait for contractor. Security was the only person who attempted to assist us. We ended up with family.

The villa was good, was not given what I originally booked, so that was an inconvenience. The amenities were good, the beach however is not ideal, is far to walk if you don’t rent a golf car, its dirty the waves are big . Maybe it was the day we went but it was just “not it”. Pools were great and having restaurants and a market on site were a plus!

Our room was absolutely perfect. Very spacious for our large family. The washer and dryer was definitely a bonus. Everything was very clean & the kitchen had everything we could possibly need. We had two minor things break during our stay, and the staff was so quick to fix it. We didn’t have to wait at all. There were so many places to eat within the community. I wish we would have got a golf cart that would’ve been very helpful to get around. The only thing I had to complain about was the pool. Unfortunately you had to walk through the pool to get to the office so there were constantly people walking back-and-forth through the pool area. Other than that everything was great. We were very pleased. We would definitely stay again.

Very nice property, everything clean and a good room with living room, dining room and equipped kitchen. It also has 2 swimming pools for everyone's enjoyment but for people with knee and leg problems they have a problem because it has many stairs to get to the rooms and also when you open the door you will find more stairs to go down to the room. If you don't have mobility problems, it is a good place to rest and disconnect from work.
