Het Arresthuis is genuinely an outstanding hotel, with an outstanding restaurant. The location is ideal both to visit the beautiful town of Roermond and for the Designer Outlet. The private parking space is a plus.
Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is built out of an old prison, restyled with elegance and luxury, yet maintaining and respecting some of the original details.

The best way to be locked up
It was such a beautifully done hotel, we were received with some Prosecco, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had dinner at their restaurant, Damianz, which is totally recommended, it was fantastic. The hotel has a lux vibe but yet keeping it within the theme. We really really loved our stay.

Following a warm welcome at the prison, and the offer of a drink (which was enjoyed in the lovely bar area) I was shown to my cell which comprised a small seating area, sleeping area and spacious bathroom. The room is well appointed with the inclusion of the a coffee making machine, toiletries and bath robes. Following a good night's sleep in the comfy bed, the breakfast the next morning offered a choice of a la carte options along with continental selections - and was delicious. A visit to the prisoners' old gym - now a well equipped fitness room - followed to address some of the calories consumed. Whilst I didn't eat in the restaurant, the kitchens looked superb and the menu offering is very much in the high end. A stay at Het Arresthuis provides a quirky yet luxurious stay, with the hotel well positioned in the historic centre of the lovely city of Roermond. I would certainly stay again.

My husband heard about this hotel on the radio here in the States and since we were planning a trip to The Netherlands anyway, we made it a point to try to get to this hotel. We were able to and enjoyed our stay very much. The pictures give the impression that this hotel is out of town, it is actually very much in town and we could walk to the main square with shops and cafes. We were greeted by friendly hotel staff and even a complimentary welcome drink. At first the thought of staying in a hotel that was once a prison was a bit unnerving however rest assured it was a very nice hotel and I would stay there again. The patio/courtyard was a nice place to have a drink and eat since the weather cooperated.

Dit hotel was een fijne verrassing. Kamer had goede verlichting (om te lezen, te werken en voor make-up), voldoende stopcontacten op de juiste plekken, een goed bureau, goede douche. De inrichting is prachtig! De kamer ruim (3 oude cellen). De ontvangst gastvrij. Ik heb 's avonds niet gegeten, maar het ontbijt was erg goed en kan al vanaf half 7 's ochtends. Het werd aan tafel geserveerd en kwam snel. Er was voldoende fruit, yoghurt en ander kwalitatief goed eten. De pancakes waren zoals pancakes bedoeld zijn.

Einzigartiges Hotel mit top Lage in der Roermonder Altstadt. Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter*innen, tolles Frühstück. Das einzige Manko war die Lage unseres Zimmers (Nr. 1) welches direkt an den Parkplatz angrenzt. Alles in allem aber ein schönes Erlebnis!

Es gibt für uns keine Minuspunkte. Frühstück und Diner waren hervorragend und super präsentiert. Das Personal war sehr um das Wohl der Gäste bemüht und trotzdem keineswegs aufdringlich. Es gehört schon eine ganze Menge dazu, aus einem ehemaligen Gefängnis ein 5*-Hotel zu machen. Hut ab!!! Wir kommen gerne wieder.
