Roaches in my room. Staff acted like they were gonna pass out if they interacted with guests. Yeah the stay is cheap but the property is unkept and the the staff is rude. The were literally a flying roach that kept me up til 4 in the morning and I had to ask them to change my room.

Great staff, Miguel was awesome. Across from the beach. Near restaurants and convenience store. The room had a fridge and stove. Kitchen and furniture need an update ASAP. Also need to enforce rules at the pool. When locals arrive there’s no more peace and quiet, they take glass bottles to the pool putting in danger everybody else. They also turn on loud speakers with no regard to other guests.

Came here check in was ok. Room wasnt ready at it was 2pm. Check-in in is at 10am. Ate food at the restaurant was phenomenal.
Got our room key and it was NOTHING that i seen on what i reserved in the pictures at all except the pool... i was very disappointed! Went to check out immediately and he was very rude.

Due to current construction it was very hard to relax in a calm atmosphere.
The mattresses were “TERRIBLE” one literally had a steel spring coming through the mattresses and poking me in the back. Very poor mattresses!!!!
Most staff at the pool bar were at best rude !
This was not my first stay here however it was my worst and also my last !!!!

Property was a private oasis where you felt secluded from the other resorts. Very picturesque grounds.
Staff were not overly friendly, limited food options, were accommodating after some convincing (vegetarian). Description of amenities was not accurate. Day passes were sold to outside guests which made the pool area very crowded and noisy with people and kids.

Value value Value. Around $20 a day gets you a clean room with bathroom, breakfast and nice pool. FYI mostly older residential units but our building was newer and in better condition than the other buildings. FYI no kitchen but a big fridge. Although not what we are used to, we made up our minds to go with the flow and it all worked out great. Mostly spanish spoken here but we made good friends with the staff and grew to like the place. It is not on the beach. You will need to cross the road and enter the beachfront by one of two passages between the hi rises that are beachfront, called Hemingway. Hemingway keep the beaches pristine and you get to enjoy them. I rate these beaches 10/10, for safety and cleanliness. The beaches either side have trash and seaweed that spoils them. Many nice restaurants close by and it is safe to walk home from them at night. Again, Hemingway keep this area safe. A good amount of construction taking place on the property at this time.

I loved how they want to share the Dominican culture with guests with rooms decorated like our traditional farmer's house style in the Dominican Campo. I loved how close to the beach it is, the amazing lady in the front that made check in and check out smooth. In general excellent experience. Room is basuc so don't expect much.

Staff was very nice, and were able to accommodate my requests to switch rooms because of a better room safer for my toddler girl.
Room was comfortable and pleasing it even included a little stove, fridge, sink, kitchen cabinets, pots, pans, and plates to cook, and round dinning table with chairs, ( I was more then happy) the only thing missing was a microwave!
Other than that they had amazing customer service and all the staff was very nice!

nothing it is all horrible i have to stay here for 10 more days because i already paid i have been threatened to be punched by members of staff family and their friends i told them yesterday i will go to tourist police to press charges and get all my money back if anything happens again they have turned off my power tv and wifi on purpose in my room many times i just disputed the i paid for first ten days with the my chase bank to be refunded back by tuesday and for good by the end of the month they are racist evil people treat me bad because i am american devils evil people but i have no money to move until 10 days and i already paid for more days here

This place is terrible. My room had roaches and beds bugs and was super dirty. One night a spider showed on my bed .a big spider. The bathroom contains dirty, the bathroom drain was all opened. For the parking you have to go tonthe front desk to asked to open the parking door every time you have to enter or leave the hotel. What i experience is not safe at all for someone's health to sleep in a room that has roaches, spiders, beds bugs and alegator. I have pictures. I told the managers about this situation and she said that was ok to have roaches and beds 🐛 in the room . She did not even say sorry. Bad costumers service. I will not recommend this unhealthy and dangerous environment to nobady. You can get sick by roaches or beds bugs or by spider that bite you.

Interesting little \"local\" hotel

The hotel has seen better days, but for an inexpensive stay, it wasn't bad. I had to call the phone number to find the location as we drove past it several times without seeing a sign. We checked in very late (around 10:30 pm) and the front desk person was not very friendly. She spoke no English and even though I tried to communicate in Spanish, she didn't want to help (I think she talked faster when I asked her to speak slower). After we arrived in the room, I was a little concerned with the condition but since it was only one night, I made it work. The positive is that the bed was fairly comfortable. The negative is that there were no towels in the room. Thankfully I had a beach towel that I could use. The room was clean but very dated. The TV and WiFi didn't work which was ok for one night but wouldn't work for a longer stay.
Roosters woke me up early in the morning - it's a real local feel! When I checked out in the morning, I noticed that the grounds are very nice and include a bridge over a \"koi\" pond and a bird cage with pretty birds. There was a nice pool and a restaurant under a palapa that looked like it had local food.

Overall this hotel feels like a place that was a cute long stay hotel across the street from the beach until a bunch of new condos were built on the beach side of the street. Now it's a hotel that has seen better days but will work for a short stay.

The property was decent, nothing to write home about. The staff was great. The barter Martha was amazing and knowledgeable. The massage and nail spa were very good also( there is a fee very inexpensive. The common areas of the property are clean. The rooms are fine, the bathrooms not good at all. The linens and towels are old, bring your own or buy some when you are there.

Husba3 and I stayed from June 6 to June 9th, the hotel was just OK for the price. Hotel needs to be updated, bathroom has mold, the sink faucets are corrosive, sheets in the bed and towels are stain. Magement lady don't care and is non- existent, she is just there. I do have to say the pool bartender Claritza is the only thing good in the hotel. She cares and very attentive.

My friend and I booked two rooms and both were actually large suites and very inexpensive. Mine had good facilities including air conditioning, which was important as not all windows could be opened. I had a comfortable night's stay. My friend's room did not have the advertised air-conditioning and he had a very uncomfortable night.

You get to experience more of the People of Dominica here at this Hotel. It is not fancy, but if you enjoy people and don't worry about every little thing. This was a very good trip for me, my wife and our 6 year old daughter. People were kind and friendly and if we needed something they looked into it. Good restaurants right next door, less than 5 minute walk and we are at the beach. Live music was at the restaurants on Friday and Sat. We really enjoyed the stay

I loved that there was daily house keeping and AC. The room was furnished but the stove didn’t work. Everyone was friendly and multilingual although if they know you speak Spanish they’d prefer you to speak in Spanish. Right next to the beach, awesome & affordable restaurants, & a deli market. Would definitely come back to this place as it gave us a home like feeling.

Please note the cleanliness and the need for basic repairs like door knobs and locks. You have to ask for towels, there was no working TVS, and the place needs to be remodeled for safety and efficeniecy standards. Transportation is tricky at best. UBER doesn't work there. Unless you come to an agreement at the airport and use the app called whatsapp to cordinate your too and from trip. Do not walk alone at night or early morning. Do not take public transporation without knowing Spanish and carrying a weapon or able to defend yourself.

Dont do it!the pictures are decieving. .there is no beach. It isnt on the beach and you have to walk along way to get through to beach...its dirty. And bathroom is falling apart..toilet wont flush ...absolutely no wifi..i left after first day...and bring towels. They are so cheap they dont provide towels in your bathroom.i took my dominican gf there she was afraid to touch anything....i paid through hotels.com. and they still tried to charge me at reception..i wouldnt go there if it was free

Just what the doctor ordered

Comfortable, if basic, accommodations; great pool; very short walk to the beach; pool is open to locals and their presence was exhilarating, loud and joyful especially since most of the nearby condo units were mostly filled with older, white people. Not alot of places to eat and shop but enough to make our stay simple, relaxing and pleasant. Staff were friendly but not much English which ought not surprise anyone. DR is a warm, sunny, friendly, dynamic and culturally-rich place. Only downside is the distance and time involved from Vancouver, BC. . .and the multiple security screenings in US airports. There are more expensive and better-equipped places to stay other than Plaza Real but I doubt I would choose anywhere else. It fit our budget (was affordable) and our desire to relax, tan and read. What more could one ask?
