Beautiful old building but quite tatty and dated. The new section rooms are nicer (minus the linoleum floor). Area is very central and felt safe, although it is a mix of some beautiful old buildings and horrible 60s, 70s and 80s ones in quite bad conditions, that have destroyed the city.

Quirky themed hotel

Quirky rock music themed hotel with Hard Rock café type restaurant. In classic old building but the room, furniture & bathroom were old and tired and definitely in need of refurbishment. I think the target market is tourists not business travellers. A positive is that the staff were excellent and went out of their way to help.

My parents and I stayed at the Wyndham Savoy Rosario for a few days and we absolutely loved it. The hotel is very clean, updated and has excellent wifi and air conditioning. The complimentary breakfast was great. The neighborhood was very convenient for us. We loved our stay so much and will definitely be using this hotel chain again in the future. A cool bonus was that the hotel had so many rock and roll/pop star memorabilia which made our stay that much more cooler and interesting. I highly recommend this fabulous hotel, do not hesitate!

Terrible stay and experience Stay away

This is probably the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The hotel, which from the outside looks stunning, is completely falling apart on the inside. I was given a different, smaller room in what seemed like a basement where the towels were dirty. I was switched to a bigger room after being told they had none where it smelled of dampness, yellow water came out of the shower, holes in the sheets and dirty pillow covers.The worst part was the check out: the hotel did not accept the price I was charged with hotels.com, overcharging me on both exchange rate and taxes (even though it was stated all was included in my booking) and extremely rude staff that raised their voice at us when trying to come up with a solution. I feel deceived and insulted and ultimately ripped off of something that should have been a nicer experience.

This hotel oozes charm, nostalgia and splendor. The restaurant was exceptional. I had three dinners there, excellent on each occasion. Altogether a pleasant and special experience. The live pianist playing in the bar area at happy hour was a nice touch. I loved this hotel. Only downside was some street noise in the old style 'upgraded' room, which was actually a suite. All the staff were excellent.

This a very old remodeled hotel, this hotel has too much history, Freddy Mercury stayed there before he died among other local and international celebrities, well located in the heart of rosario. 2 swimming pools outdoor and indoor with a cozy gym, only thing i will change will be the breakfast, everyday was the same and not like other 4 star hotels changing some of the food not too many option with hot food just bacon and scrambled egg a lot of cold food

With few changes it could be a great hotel

It is a beautiful old renovated building at a great location and with lots of history. If you are looking for a quiet place, this is not it, the walls are thin and there is a lot of noise. The service was ok, (not great), dinner at the hotel was mediocre and breakfast served with lots of supermarket sweets and prepackaged juices, beside the fruit salad there were no healthy options. All in all it was a nice energy inside the hotel.

Excellent location. Is near everything you need.
Have been a returning customer for many years. Staff is great and always ready to help. It is an icon in Rosario.
The included breakfast is excellent with the incredible medialunas de grasa.
Did not like to see how it is deteriorating through the years. It seems that there is very little building maintenance after the nice remodeling so many years ago. One of the elevators has been broken since october 2018. Today, april 2, 2019 it is still not working. Some of the bathrooms have seen better years.

- didn’t have cold beers in the restaurant so purchased one and placed in an ice bucket
- food was good even though we arrived late

- doorman was outstanding!!!
- check out next morning was not great. My NZ Visa card worked only on the fourth and oldest EFTPoS machine. The young man at the counter kept scratching his crutch. I paid for both our rooms which thoroughly confused him.So finally after paying for two rooms he still thought my guest should pay. So I had to explain yet again I paid for 314 & 212 so te person in 212 didn’t have to pay anything!!! Not the sharpest tool in the shed
- Wifi signal was weak (access points need to emit stronger signal)

This hotel is perfectly located, the food at the restaurant is great especially the pastas. A/C works very well, staff are so corteous, breakfast was included and I recommend to ask for the pan campestre that’s not included but it is soo good. Room was spacious, I got a free upgrade 😊 I didn’t want to leave honestly, it was such a nice place to stay in Rosario.

Perfect location in beaut old building

Our room was one of the old rooms on a lower floor with very little natural light, but a beautiful old building cannot change its walls! The shortcomings were more than made up for by the kind attention of the staff, the perfect location and the huge airy dining room where we took merienda every afternoon and entertained family. If a view is important to you, pay more for the newer room, but if you only plan to sleep in you room, pay less and spend your savings enjoying Rosario.

There are now two types of rooms in the Savoy. The first are older and very small rooms. The second are newer and much larger. You pay more for the larger rooms, but they are super nice. In the past, when I stayed in the smaller rooms, I didn't find the linens and towels to be that great. They were often old and frayed...not very good. But, the people have always been nice and helpful.

This is a charming old girl with nice modern touches, although it still feels \"old\" in the rooms. My room was nice, big and clean. The hotel is just a few blocks from the river, flag memorial and Cordoba walking street. The front desk staff don't speak great English, as well as the restaurant, but that is typical for Rosario generally.

I was a little disappointed about this hotel. It was rated almost 5 stars, and even though hotel looks very nice considering it is an historic building, it is not quite to be close to 5 starts. I had stayed at other hotels with that rating and they at least offer a coffee pot in the room, considering how much Argentinian/Uruguayan people drink mate, there was nothing to heat up water in the room. The fitness place was not what they show on pictures. Updated equipment with no instruction on machines , no matching weights, and specially no air conditioner or even a fan, it was extremely unpleasant to work out there.
Swimming pool/sauna were very nice thought.
All in all, I was satisfied , but a little disappointed. I would not give hotel almost 5 starts, maybe 3.8.

Make sure Rosario is on your list in Argentina

Although we only had one night the Esplendor Savoy was great. Room was huge and really quiet. Hotel has been beautifully refurbished, staff were helpful and pleasant and enough English to help us. Restaurant was really good and well patronized. It is only a few blocks from pedestrianized mall areas. Car parking was about 50 metres from hotel.

Stayed at this hotel several times in the last 5-6 years, beautiful building and designer fittings, however the rooms are now starting to look tired and worn out. Could do with a coat of paint and some new trimmings to bring it back up the the top level again. Still a great choice to avoid the boring international chains.

What a change!

I stayed at this hotel 25 years ago. It was the very definition of faded glory. The building was very memorable, with the ceilings higher than the rooms were long, but the place was completely neglected.

They've done an absolutely wonderful renovation into a solid 4 star hotel. You'll have a memorable stay. I recommend it highly.

Great Old Hotel

This old hotel has vaulted ceilings throughout the entire building. Fully refurbished, my wife and I were visiting on business and found the hotel very fascinating. The hallways and rooms all have cathedral ceilings. Our room was a bit small but we were only staying for 1 night so it was OK. We kept looking for the Grady twins to ask us to play with them but there was no sign of them anywhere. The hotel is near Rosario's promenade but it's a short cab ride to any major tourist sites or major business sites. Excellent staff, clean rooms and great service. I will certainly stay here again on my next visit to Rosario.

I loved this hotel. The feel of the old and updates was great together. Our room was large enough our bed of good quality and the bathroom had everything we needed. It was in a good location. Staff spoke english and were able to direct for a good walking tour. We were too tired from the drive to look for an outside restaurant so ate in the hotel. It was the best meal we had in the 17 days we spent in Argentina and at such a good price. There was some unrest in the neighbourhood where about 50 people were camping out at a nearby government office - I felt that the staff at the hotel honoured both the rights of the demonstrators and at the same time protecting their guests. All around an excellent stay.

The Esplendor Savoy Hotel is a historic property situated in the heart of Rosario. The hotel has been totally refurbished and offers all that can be expected of a high-quality hotel: large rooms, ac, safes, sparklingly clean wooden floors, modern and minimalist furnishings, very comfy beds. The breakkfast room is notable: on the top floor with access to an outdoor terrace overlooking part of the city - an the breakfast is excellent & has a varied menu.

Although classified as a 4 star hotel, is warrants a 5 star rating by Argentinia standards (which are not very high).

Just Fine for Argentina

My father was born in Rosario, and we were eager to see the city and to meet my Argentine cousins. The locatoin of the hotel is terrific, right near the main center of the town, near the flag monument, and close to the river. Unfortunately, as our trip was primarily for business and our business schedule was so tight, and the travel options so limited (Only on flight a day from Buenos Aires to Rosario, or a 6-hour bus ride...) that we had little time to see the city itself.

That said, we enjoyed our stay and the Esplendor Savoy was a perfectly comfortable and very reasonably-priced option for a hotel. This was once considered a classic hotel - in fact, my uncle worked there briefly in the 70s or 80s. Like much of Argentina, it has not been particularly well-maintained due to the lackluster economy. The exterior is classic and beuatiful, the interior architecture is lovely to look at, and many of the common areas and rooms have been redone as well. The room itself was large, clean and comfortable, but certainly not what we would consider a five-star, or possible even a four-star hotel in the United States or other international destinations.

Mostly, it is the \"finishes\" in the room that seem to be lacking; plaster and caulk along the tile and moldings was not of the finest quality, paint was sloppily done in some places. Furniture was basic and functional.

The staff and service were excellent, and including a decent breakfast buffet, the hotel was definitely a good value.

A very nice hotel in a beautiful building.

This is a modern hotel, in a beautiful 100-year old building -- renovated to modern standards. The only reminder of its real age is the squeaky hardwood floors: a very small price to pay for the elegance around you. We really enjoyed it.

The staff was very helpful, and made sure we were comfortable.

The lounge and restaurant attached to the hotel are first class also.

There is parking attached to the hotel: you take your car down in an elevator, which takes a bit of practice, but is worth the effort given the safety you gain: many cars get stolen in Rosario these days.

Breakfast was very good as well.

Next time we go to Rosario, we will definitely stay at the Savoy.

En relación a la habitación, el baño tenía olor desagradable, como a cloaca. La sábana con quemadura de cigarrillo y una funda descosida. La pileta externa es bebedero de palomas, incluso te miran como si les estuvieses invadiendo su espacio. La pileta climatizada es una maravilla, sólo que le falta limpieza en los bordes, los cuales tienen notoria acumulación de suciedad, la cual se ve en las venecitas.
Nos dijeron que nos hacían una atención por no ser la primera que nos hospedábamos allí, pero nos dieron la misma habitación que habían nombrado previo a enunciar dicho \"up grade\".

El edificio antiguo, muy bien restaurado.la pileta climatizada, masajistas muy eficientes. Las habitaciones cómodas. Muy complicado el acceso al estacionamiento, subir al tercer piso en ascensor. Utilice 1 día el estacionamiento y me facturaron toda la estadía..
