I recently returned to Korea after a long time abroad and started a week-long trip around the Gangwon area. This hotel was our first stop. We arrived late in the afternoon, and while I rested due to jet lag, my mother went to use the hotel’s on-site hot springs.
However, when she returned, she told me that she had accidentally stepped on feces inside the hot spring area while walking. It seemed like it may have been left by a toddler (?), but it was extremely unpleasant and, more importantly, dangerous — she almost slipped because of it.
This was very disappointing, especially for a hotel of this level. The staff should pay far more attention to hygiene, safety checks, and regular maintenance of the facilities. A hot spring should be a place where guests can relax, not experience something like this.
I hope the hotel takes this issue seriously and improves cleanliness and safety protocols for future guests.

Since it is a little distance away from a city center, the hotel offers very quiet environment. The hotel is on a top of a cliff that offers great view and has a great buffet restaurant with tasty dishes and very reasonable price.

Location-wise, the hotel has great ocean view. Their spa was great as well. The room was spacious and clean but too few furnitures feeling like empty space. It was a bit inconvenient with two few usable power outlets for charging electronics. Reception staff was fast and efficient but in hurry to wrap up the reception. These made me uncomfortable to continue my questions. To note, the lobby was very bright and spacious but somewhat stinky like sewage smells that I still don’t know what it was. This place will be more attentive if they pay attention in a bit of details. Their sunrise view at rooftop garden was really amazing.

성수기라서 이그제큐티브 룸 2박에 백만원 조금 넘게 지불하고 예약했습니다. 호텔즈닷컴 8년 넘게 사용하고, 여행도 많이 다닙니다. 사이트에서 더블베드 2개있고, 어린이 3인 어른 2인 숙박 가능한 거 확인하고 예약완료했습니다.
체크인하는데 직원분이 다짜고짜 4인이상 숙박 불가라고 해서 당황했습니다. 사이트 확인하고 예약했다고 했더니 그럴리가 없다고 사이트 보여달라고 해서, 보여줬더니 이건 사이트에서 맘대로 올린거고 호텔에서는 이런 문구를 넣었을리가 없다고 하더군요. 사이트랑 호텔이 어떻게 홍보를 하건 간에 일단 나는 비용 지불하고 예약했는데, 이게 무슨 일이냐고 했더니 한참 있다가 “4만원 추가비용 내세요” 라고 하더라고요.
제대로 된 호텔이었으면,”잠시만 기다려 주세요.”라고 하고 사이트 찾아보고 초과인원 매뉴얼 확인한 다음에 “1인 초과시 1박 당 2만원 추가 비용이 있습니다. 체크인 해 드릴까요?” 라고 했을거고, 4만원 내고 끝났을텐데, 숙박 불가라고하다가 사이트 찾아서 보여달라고 하다가, 호텔에서 절대 그런 문구 안 쓴다고 이건 호텔스닷컴에서 잘못한 거라고 하다가 마지막에 추가 비용 내라고… 고객응대 과정이 호텔이라고 하기에는 너무 저급하네요.

호텔 체크인 하기 할 때, 프론트직원에게 방에서 일출을 볼 수 있는지 물어봤었는데, 볼수 없다며 6층 공원에서 일출을 보라는 답변을 들었어요. 하지만, 실제로는 방에서도 볼 수 있었네요. 전문적이지 못한 답변이 많이 아쉬운 부분이었어요. 전체적 평가는 호탤보다 콘도에 가까운 느낌이에요. 심지어 방에 수건을 추가 해도 요금이 발생 해요.

몇년 전에 가보고 오랜만에 갔는데 그 사이에 리모델링을 했는지 상당히 괜찮아진 느낌이었습니다.
방은 여느 호텔보다 엄청 넓직해서 너무 좋았고 뷰 역시 높은곳에서 바라볼 수 있는 바다여서 더욱 좋았습니다.
로비에서의 접객 역시 훌륭했으며 이는 다른 호텔에서는 좀처럼 접하지 못한 친근함이 있었습니다.
모든 것이 좋았으나 한가지 단점은 물의 수압이 약하다는 것이었습니다.
방은 여느 호텔보다 엄청 넓직해서 너무 좋았고 뷰 역시 높은곳에서 바라볼 수 있는 바다여서 더욱 좋았습니다.

아쉬움 가득한 재방문 후기
두번째 이용입니다. 처음에 너무 좋았던 기억으로 재방문했는데 사람이 더 많아져서인지 어수선한 분위기로 아쉬운 마음입니다. 프론트와 지하 업장 직원분들은 여전히 친절하였는데 체크아웃 한 시간전과 삼십분 전 수건교체와 체크아웃하는지 확인한다는 명목으로 연이어 방문하는 객실 관리팀으로 인해 불편했습니다. 특히 나중 한 분은 저희가 객실에 있는데 카드키로 문을 열었고 소리를 내니 문을 닫고는 벨을 누르며 체크아웃하기로 한 방인 것 같아 확인차 왔다고 하셔서 매우 불편했습니다. 호텔측에서 재발방지에 힘써주신다고 했으나 이용에 참고하세요~

3. 객실내 금고는 배터리가 방전되서인지, 작동불량
4. 객실내 제공되는 슬리퍼는 화장실 입구 대리적타일에 너무 미끄러워 사고날 수 있을 정도로 위험함.
5. 객실 침대 하부 바닥 청소 불량으로 먼지 가득쌓여있음.
6. ML 아래 1층의 사우나실 입구 직원, 고압적인 매우 불친절 함. 이에 비해 Front Desk 직원분들은 친절하였습니다.

바다가 객실에서 보인다는건 굉장히 좋은 경험이었습니다. 부대시설도 호텔 내 잘 갖추어져 있고 13개월 아기와 함께 충분한 서비스를 받은 것 같습니다. 특히 카페와 식당에 유아용 의자식탁이 비치되어 있어 이를 잘 활용할 수 있었습니다. 개인적으로 다음에 강릉에 다시 온다면 이 호텔을 재방문 하고 싶습니다.
