Very disappointed with the service. First, they didn’t answer the phone, and when we arrived, the only staff member on site didn’t speak French, spoke very limited English, and wasn’t very friendly. We had rented four rooms for the weekend, yet they still wanted to charge us $200 just to use their breakfast room—which wasn’t even being used for the rest of the day—so we could gather together.

Overall, a very disappointing experience. The photos looked great, and the manoir itself was nice, but it’s actually located right in the middle of the village, not on a large property as it appears online. The breakfast was also very limited.

Do not recommend at all.

Very old building which adds to the nostalgia. Small rooms, somewhat uncomfortable beds and the heater cannot be on at the same time as the hair dryer (I found this out the hard way). You have to be very quiet moving around the hotel as your footsteps are loud. Small town and not much to do at all. However, I would stay there again. The owner was very polite and kind.

I enjoyed our stay at Manoir Ramezay. The building is picturesque. Each room (we rented three) was not spacious, but large enough, and each was charmingly decorated with wood accents. The breakfast was ordinary (I don’t like those wooden utensils) but I didn’t leave feeling hungry. There was ample parking and a ramp to roll luggage up - so much more convenient than stairs. Not generic, but not superior either.

Two very disappointed travelers/customers

The room was clean but the service was terrible, the lady at the front desk did not go out of her way to make us feel welcome at all. We asked if we could check in early as we drove through the night from Ontario ( little over 8 hours) to attend a military graduation and notice an empty room on the way from the back parking lot, she told us that she didnt have any rooms available when we had just seen one. Then asked if we could at least use the handicap bathroom near the front desk so we could change our clothes and freshen up and again she said no. We left very disappointed. During our supper with the family at around 6:00pm, she calls us asking for payment to keep our room or she would give it to someone else, so because everything was booked in Saint Jean sur Richelieu and we needed a place to sleep we paid it over the phone, unwillingly, and to add to the check-in your websits states 11:00pm. When we got to the hotel that evening around 8ish, the room she gave us was the empty room we saw in the morning. We will neved stay there again not because the hotel was not nice, only because of the lady's lack of customer service, and unfriendliness.

How often do you get to spend the night in a 1797 stone manor with 2-foot wide stone walls and yet, a/c and features of a modern hotel? It was so beautiful and the gentleman owner/manager was there to make your stay comfortable.

C'était ok! Je recommanderai seulement si vous avez un budget à respecter, parce que ca pourrait être plus clean. Il y avait présence de toiles d'araignées/poussières dans le haut des murs de notre chambre et sur les luminaires. L'air climatisé dans la chambre fait quand même beaucoup de bruit.

Le moins positif est que c'est proche de bons petits resto dans la ville!

The Manoir was quite clean and the staff very courteous. It was very convenient to get to off of highway 10. I was not clear whether there was private parking for the Manoir we parked on the street in front of a house. Overall we were quite satisfied.

It is evident that there was a change of ownership recently. The Cafe is now separately owned operated. Contrary to the listing, there is no breakfast provided and limited options locally. The current staff kind but limited in engagement. Furniture was tattered and there wasn’t a refrigerator in the room. Overall it felt like a hospice vibe. There wasn’t a spare roll of toilet paper. We had to go seek that. Exposed electrical on the bedside light. Unfortunately, I would not recommend until/unless significant efforts are made to honour the listing and show care and attention to the rooms themselves.

Nice and quiet, but it really need TLC.

The place is in serious need of TLC. The head of the bed was falling off, they were holes in the wall, the fridge, AC were noisy and the deck and patio furniture needed replacing.

The jacuzzi on the deck was good, the owners are friendly. But, lucky I speak Mandarin. It is quiet and well-located.

Lumpy lumpy mattress. Must step up to get to toilet bowl and shower. I fell from this step that shouldn’t be there. Room is cut up in 2 little rooms. Window opens up to fro t porch where people sit and could right into the bedroom and can’t lowere the blinds all the way cause an air conditioner blocks.

The only concern that we had was that we found out we could have booked the same room for $20 (plus taxes) less on the Manoir Ramezay website vs what we paid through Expedia. Other than that, it was a cool place to stay.

It has an old tavern sort of feel which I really love, which is one of its selling points, and it's not far from most of the essentials like a bank, pharmacy and grocery store. It's right in the middle of everything and it feels peaceful and comfortable nonetheless. My only complaint is that if it's really windy, you can hear the building making some rickety noises. It's completely normal, but might scare some people who are afraid of every single little noise at night like me. It just gives the place more character in my opinion though. I love this little hotel and I will be going back for sure.

We ( couple, 4 y.o and baby) spent this past weekend in the family suite at Manoir Ramezay. We had very high hopes based on their website, however, we were very disappointed. It was 35 degrees Celsius, no central air conditioning in the building. ( I understand, its a old building) The portable AC was only in one of the two bedrooms and wasn't turned on when we arrived so the rooms were an unsafe temperature, especially for having a baby sleep! The rooms were very minimally furnished, no dressers, clocks, desks or tables and very old mattresses. Windows did not have full curtains, let alone room darkening expected in hotels. The breakfast promised on website was not available. Owner said it was bc of covid. No coffee maker in room, only a canister of horrendous instant coffee and unwrapped tea bags beside water dispenser in lobby. How is that ok in a pandemic?! The terrace doesn't open until 9 am so we weren't able to use those tables to eat out take out breakfast. Our baby woke early so I drove to the nearest coffee shop (5 min up road) it was closed until 7:30. Came back to hotel and was locked out, keys provided did t work on front or back door. I had to wake my husband to come let me in. The premises are derelict. The restaurant which has been closed 18 m has piles of dirty dishes, old appliances spilling out into the parking lot. No effort to weed, Graffiti all over the side of heritage building. Upon check out noticed the smoke alarm was covered w shower cap!

We loved the rustic look and that the decor was modern without losing the rustic charm. The room smelled great. We are spoiled at home with a super comfy Casper mattress, so all beds everywhere are never comfortable enough. Same for pillows. But a nice place all the same.

Old build had a lot of charm. On the down side the hotel needs some upgrades to accommodate for cold weather, the electric portable heater in the room is fine when temperature hovers around zero, but it takes a long time to heat up the room when the temperature dips into the negatives.

The property in itself was very unique. Very safe quite neighbor. The husband and wife that ran the place, very friendly, knowledgeable about places to go and eat. The kitchen utensils were very clean. Juice glasses spotless. I read a review that said the place was dark. I thought I could do dark. No, the walls painted dark colors. Very poor lighting, had issue with outlets, keeping the plugs in place. Had to move bed to get extension cord. Very dusty. Bed took up most of the room. No sofa bed.

Rooms are small and more sparsely furnished so if you plan to spend a lot of time in your room, you may want to look for lodging elsewhere, but if you are looking for a simple, inexpensive and comfortable place to stay, this is it. Good breakfast each morning - eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. Coffee and juice, cereal / oatmeal avail. You have your own key to the entry door and your room - they really do stop manning the front desk at 9 so check in before then! Restaurant downstairs closes early so did not get to try unfortunately.

Breakfast was not ready in the time stated (7am, already pretty late for a week day) and despite the specific mention that we would be in a hurry in the morning nobody was around.
Room are very basic and subpar compared to the price range. Just OK hotel with poor service.
The other reviews seems not thrustworthy.

No spa and no restaurant. They’re closed. Poorly supplied breakfast. Be the first one there if you want the hot food. Communication with front desk was a challenge. Unless they reopen the spa and restaurant, they should no longer mention them.

Lovely boutique hotel in Mariesville

This place was so beautiful. Our room was amazing, I wish we could have stayed a week. We stayed in the Royal Suite with the king bed and jetted tub. It was quite lovely and a relaxing setting. Loved the heated floors, so cozy. Plan a little when you pack so you don't have to lug a big suitcase up the stairs or request a first floor room. We were so glad we stayed here instead of one of the more generic hotels in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Our host was very kind and welcoming. Staying here was one of the best parts of our trip to Quebec.
