I actually booked a different hotel to stay Because Moulin Sur Mer was a disaster. It was raining during checkin and the room got flooded and that that was the only room left. We waited for about an hour after a long drive to the property. Nothing was offered as we waited such a bottle of water. I was so unhappy that I went to another hotel. I was told that they are not going to refund me my money. I called Expedia, still haven’t heard anything back from you guys. I am not going to let my $264 go to waste for a place that could not accommodate my needs.

A wonderful escape from the city to a nearby beach. The hotel staff and facilities were wonderful - it would be great if there were some more food (and vegetarian) options as the menu gets quite limited after a day or two. Very relaxing and great opportunities to do other activities besides swimming (snorkeling, diving, excursions, mini golf, museum)... the rooms and beds were bigger than expected, with well functioning air conditioning, fan and hot water.

For Haiti, this is a really nice hotel/resort.
Helpful hints: don’t expect an experience comparable to more developed Caribbean nations. Furnishing are spartan by European/Western standards, and the hotel staff is not professionally trained. But they provided excellent service, especially the restaurant wait staff.
One improvement the hotel needs to make: provide your guests with an atm machine on premises. Getting change to tip wait staff was difficult st times. No one likes to carry large amounts of cash in Haiti. Having an atm on site will ensure proper tipping of your servers and staff.
Although Moin has excellent dinner and breakfast buffets, the night buffet is a bit overpriced for the selection (28 dollars). It was good, but that’s horrendously expensive. 20 would have been more appropriate.
Do something about the cost of the transport from the airport. 125 bucks round trip PER PERSON is steep. You deter large groups and families from booking vacations if they are looking at an additional 700 bucks in airport shuttle fees.
Your menu was delicious. But consider changing it every other night for variety.
The tv didn’t work in our room (not that we were there to watch tv), and the WI-Fi cut in and out/was slow in rooms.
Finally, consider offering small outings into the Haitian markets etc so guests can safely experience Haitian life.

Thank you for a wonderful experience. We will be back to this lovely resort one day soon.

All the staff, from housekeeping, waiters, and yard workers to the desk personnel were friendly and helpful. The maid for our room went out of her way to get us ice. Our room was beautiful, the beach was lovely and quiet, the snorkeling was beautiful and the food was good.

I stayed at Moulin Sur Mer for two nights. The staff was very accommodating and professional. I originally only planned to stay for one night, but due to unrest on the roads, I needed to stay another night. I felt safe on their beautiful property and enjoyed a peaceful two days.

Staff is very corteous, the facility is extremely beautiful with a relaxing atmosphere all around. Breakfast is great with lots of options, however, my experience eating dinner over there wasn't good. I will most likely go there again for a weekend getaway, but will eat out.

My experience there the facility is awesome very nice,employees were great.The only issue i had was the first night when we've checked in the room there were dead bugs all over the floor and spider web all around the room,the next i filed a complaint and they moved us to a new room after all .

Everything you could need in a hotel.

I have visited other hotels in the vicinity; although, still yet to visit a few more so far this is the first one that I was very pleased with. It provided all the accessories needed for your shower, the room was respectively clean, staffs were very friendly and polite. We actually had a phone and a radio which was very surprising. My friend loved most of all the buffet breakfast type; I must admit I enjoyed it as well. Even the pool was unexpectedly very clean. I did not have a chance to visit their museum near by; but, I will make it point to do so next time. My only hang up was the fact that I was not able to swim at the beach. Otherwise, I could not have ask for a better crib.

My experience at MSM was an exact 3 stars. I didn't have a bad time but there were a lot of ways they cut corners that kept me from having a great time.

PROS: The facilities are nice. The pool is one of the best in the area and the filtration system keeps it very clean and bug free (we got day passes to a few of the neighboring resorts to compare). All the staff is very friendly. They have a water cooler to refill your water bottle. All the food we ate there was good with large portions. The drinks were also well made/strong for $6/7 each. The highlight for me was the ambiance of this resort. It was low key and provided a romantic get away for myself and my boyfriend.

CONS: They seem to cut a lot of corners. There were no beach/pool towels available for the 5 days we were there. They provided shampoo that was the consistency of water-leading me to believe they water it down and refill the bottles. There were no lotion bottles provided. They only have wifi in the main restaurant area and it was spotty there at best. Every night at dinner they do a $25 pre-fix menu with 3 options. One day they had pasta with spinach which literally consisted of plain pasta with some spinach thrown on top. Appetizer was 4 tomato slices and dessert was plain yellow cake. I am from New York so paying this price for that quality of food in Haiti was outrageous.

Room 40, was a nightmare.

When I arrived on May 1st, 2018 I received a nice welcome from the staff. Clervaux was the best. But when I go to my room, I couldn't believe what I saw. Room not clean, No little fridge, no iron, OMG the matress and pillow was the worst. I couldn't sleep, my body hurts a lot. But Food was good. If you have to go there, pay attention to the bed.

The tour was not included in the deal, the hotel staff did not know about the tour. The place was clean overall. My only complain is the restaurant/ food service closed early. Great place to relax, beautiful view. I would recommend more music/ live music and activities for days and night.

The hotel is approximately 1.5 hrs from the airport. About $80 usd each way.

There is nothing in the area that would be of interest to vacationers, maybe missionaries.

There was no pool, as advertised--it was under long term construction. The beach is rocky.

They do not take American Express, only Visa and MasterCard.

My room was infested with mosquitos and gnats. The bed sheets were dirty and stained. Additionally the bathroom sink pipe wasn't connected properly so the drain water emptied onto the floor.

I left after 15 minutes and booked a room at another hotel.

It has been two weeks and the crooks that run Moulin Sur Mer refuse to refund any of the prepaid three night stay.

I work for an airline and travel alot. This is the worst hotel I have come across in my entire career.

Great resort with good value

Moulin Sur Mer is a great place to get away for a quiet, relaxing time. The staff are efficient and friendly, the surroundings are tranquil, the beach is lovely. The restaurant food is decent and servers are very attentive. All in all, it’s a place we keep going back to!

Althought I have visited Haiti numerous times in the last 30 years and eaten at Moulin-sur-Mer I had never stayed there. I thought it was wonderful. The rates are reasonable (with a \"serious\" breakfast included). I highly recommend it.

They sprayed some chemical with a fog machine for mosquitos while we were eating dinner at 6 pm. You could not even SEE through the cloud of fumes. We had several people that had to leave and go into their room to avoid asthma attacks. It took 4 hours to get the food that night...I did notify the front desk of the danger of this timing and how unbelievable it was to all of us.
OTHER than that, the resort is good.
THey need TELL the guests they will be doing this and CLOSE the outdoor restaurant while it is being sprayed.

Not that great of a stay

I think my stay there was too long and food was repetitive and not that great for the price.
Customer service is lacking .
Beds were super uncomfortable and staff never had any change for money so you can tip properly .
If you do decide to stay there I would recommend no more then 3 days.
What i do recommend is the Blue marina excursion that is on the same property but you do not have to stay there to book.

Terrible customer service... I’m not really sure why we were treated like outcast but we were ... we sit down to eat and we were ignored... 7 servers walking by no one stopped to help us .. I then went to talk to a man standing behind the cash register and ask if I could order a pizza ? He said yes I was upset my son Was hungry but why weren’t we being helped?? My only guess was because we were white.. that is just one of the incidents

Pros: Beautiful pristine property, friendly staff, clean air conditioned room, nice clean beach, excellent breakfast buffet.
Cons: Plumbing needs upgrading, spotty wifi, rocky ocean floor (bring water shoes), no lifeguard, our bathroom door would not close (door too big for opening) and if you leave the closet door open, you may get stuck in the bathroom (room 39), unpaved parking lot, and overall package becomes too expensive when you add lunch, dinner, and alcohol.
Would recommend, but there are better and cheaper alternatives.

Beautiful relaxing stay

The stay at Moulin was wonderful. The facilities were clean and absolutely beautiful, the staff was very nice and accommodating. The room we reserved wasn't the room they initially gave us (there was no balcony like we had been quoted) but upon bringing it to their attention they kindly gave us a new room. There was a golf cart that would give you rides to other parts of the resort (it is a fairly large area). We didn't get a chance to look at the museum that's attached, but I have heard it is wonderful. There were monkeys in a large pen, which was kind of fun. The live music on Saturday was wonderful as well!

The only negatives:
The pool is about 5ft, there is no shallow section for children. The water was very warm and nice.
The beach is sandy but also rocky - be sure to bring water shoes so the smooth rocks don't hurt.
The daily rate per person per day for lunch and dinner (in addition to our reservation) felt a little steep at times.
It is actually about 2 hours from the airport, rather than the 1 that they quote.

Great resort right on the beach. Great staff. Great facilities, remembering you're in Haiti. Five star for Haiti. Beds were comfortable, room was clean and modernized. The air conditioner can freeze you out.

Overall -- outstanding hotel for Haiti.

But it will not be comparable to U.S. Standards

We went for diving sponsored by adjacent dive shop. Shore diving and boat diving both are convenient. Impressive coral but due to overfishing by Haitians relatively little widelife
