We were driving from Sultan to Ellensburg as the weather deteriorated. We booked the room as a layover due to rain and increasing darkness.
Our room was quite clean and comfortable. It was on the second level, however, and the elevator was not operational. The flight of stairs was manageable, but I struggled with my luggage due to having CHF. The condition makes it difficult to \"catch my breath.\" We really enjoyed the jacuzzi tub!
We were greeted and checked in by a personable individual who knew his way around the hotel.
Aside from the elevator issue, our stay was uneventful and restful.

The room was very clean. The carpeted area was soft and clean. The mattress and pillows were nice. The toiletries were more than expected. The coffee area had real half and half creamer in the tiny cups. The only problem with the room was twice in the middle of the night there was a low, gutteral, terrifying, growling sound in the room with us. It happened twice.

The baskets and pots of colorful flowers outside was a nice touch. This was a spur of the moment stay for us during our travels and like staying at non-chain locations to support local communities. The one thing I would say, although the room was visibly clean, it smelled of animal urine.

Renovations/ replacement of bath fixtures was evident and nicely done. The bath towels were nice and thick (not like the thin, scratchy scotchbrite towels of Comfort Inn). The carpet was old and would benefit the ambiance and comfort of the room if it were replaced.

The room smelled very bad upon arrival. It was the next day I discovered why. The old air conditioning unit had lichen growing in it. Visible fungus growing all over. Lichen is the fungus looking stuff you see growing on rocks and trees near damp areas… supposed to be outside. We left the AC off the remainder of our stay and the smell improved dramatically. BUT it was a bit warm … so I don’t know if it was a win. Other than that and the loud train nearby honking at all hours of the night, it was a normal hotel stay.

Exceptionally nice front desk staff! Check in and out went very quickly and easily.

Basic hotel with larger than expected room and bathroom. Clean, had a mini-fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. Bed was comfortable, very good pillows, and nice towels. Quiet the first night (a Friday) but on Saturday night there was very loud music across the street at a bar. Not the motel's issue but be aware that might be going on. If you're not looking for a lot of extras, at a good price, this is a great choice.

Nice quaint motel style room in tiny community. Great bakery…don’t miss it! Room comfy beds, clean crisp linens and towels, coffee/tea in room. Fridge and micro with plates and napkins. Not many places for a night out meal, but I wasn’t there for that. This place fit my needs while Monroe was booked out for a weekend event. Staff/housecleaning very pleasant.

Worth the stay

We came to Sultan to meet with friends who live in Sultan. We were greeted with a welcome smile and found the room well maintained and comfortable. We asked if there were any restaurants nearby that they could welcome for breakfast the next morning. They recommended \"The Bakery\" which is in walking distance. We tried it out and found that they serve large portions of food. And it was excellent!.
Overall, the motel was worth it for us to stay there.

Our room was clean, though the carpet is a bit flat in places. This was fact, but in no way diminished the comfort or cleanliness of the room. The shower was hot and worked well. The refrigerator/freezer were a nice size for a compact. There're a few great places to eat in very close distance. I would definitely stay here again.

Room 26. Door was broken. Door knives was broken. Dead bolt was broken. Boogers on handle in shower. Mold on caulking in shower. Heater so loud we couldn't sori. Then every 20-30 mins trains would go through town blaring horns all night long. Didn't get 30 mns of sleep. Left at 7am after the worst night ever.

We stayed in room 23 and it was fine.
Clean with a nice shower.
The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. I would stay in this room again.
Note - others in our party did not enjoy their room towards the far end of the building. It was a pet friendly room and it (had a very ‘unique’ odours) showed.

Unfortunately there was little redeeming quality to our stay.

Cons-We were not greeted in a friendly manner upon arrival, the person checking us in barely spoke at all, and looked a bit put out. We found our room to be very damp smelling upon arrival with lots of white stains on the carpet. There were visible blood stains on the box spring protector on one of the beds (no small amount- I own a B&B, try baking soda & peroxide, to remove!) and we found a dead bedbug? belly up on the dresser as we were grabbing our things to check out. I left that for the cleaner to see. (we didn't get bites at all, so could've been something else but with the blood on the side of the bed who knows).
It's also super noisy from the train and busy road.

Pros- they provide earplugs (just 1 set), fridge/microwave in room and it's pet friendly with an area to walk the dog right there. The actual bedding was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The person in the lobby at checkout was actually friendly.

A different room may have had no issues, but based on our experience I won't be giving it another try.

I made a reservation and drove very far and was denied a room when I desperately needed for kindness to be in my life. I have a letter stating that my animal is part of a new program from the A.D.A. I needed to be able to get into my things to find that letter and it was 90° outside. I had it with me. I cried in the parking lot while desperately searching for the nearest option even though I could not afford the difference in cost.

Check in easy enough. Spiders and cobwebs throughout the shower, one pillow on the bed that had hard, older sheets on it. Can see daylight through the door to the room, thin walls so you can listen to your neighbors conversation, and no blackout curtains on the windows.

It’s a nice quirky dog friendly motel. Located 5 minutes from where disc dog competitions are frequently held. There’s a nice green unfenced lawn for taking your dogs out. The neighborhood is walkable, and there’s many restaurants to choose from.

Overall, the property was clean and maintained. Some fixtures were dated and the carpet could use replacement. The TV is also really small, but we weren't really there to watch TV. The bed was reasonably comfortable and there was an A/C for warmer weather. There was a bit more road noise than expected, people speeding by in the middle of the night despite the speed limit, but you can't really blame the motel for that. I have definity stayed in nicer, but reasonable for the price.

I go to Sultan several times a year for disc dog events, the rooms are clean, they have a great grass area for my dogs. They neighborhood around them is walkable. There’s several dining options and it’s a less than 5 minute drive to my event.

Its been very nice and quiet. I have been in my room for over a week and was told this morning i was going to have to switch rooms wasnt very happy about that but within 5 minutes the office had it all straightened out so i didnt have to switch rooms thankfully. Everyone that works here is very friendly. I book my room online and if theres a question about anything they message me right away which is very nice. I would recommend The Dutch Cup motel if your looking for a nice friendly comfortable stay with walking distance to coffee stands, restaraunt or gas station convenient store.

Reasonable price and we were able to reduce cost when additional guests had to do a last-minute cancellation. Dead bolt was not operable from inside the room (#29), but door knob lock was functional. There were a few stains on the carpet but otherwise the room was clean and well stocked with towels, soap etc.
