While the property was well maintained, it shows its' age. If you are looking for a clean, economical, and secure place to stay, especially near the fairgrounds, this is a good choice. There is no 2nd floor ADA access, in room coffee service needs to be requested, and there is no ice machine. (Ice is available for purchase in 10# bags from a vending machine.)

There are many dining options nearby, including a very good family restaurant right next door.

The room was smelly and dirty. They didn't clean our rooms the entire time we were there, and we were there for 6 days. It was cheap, I suppose you get what u pay for. Definitely not three star.Staff was friendly tho. It was close to my family's house we were visiting. Probably go somewhere else next time.

Staying at the Fairground Inn felt less like booking a hotel and more like signing up for an escape room where the challenge was getting basic amenities to function.

The phone was thoughtfully provided, although apparently it had recently decided to pursue a wireless lifestyle—the cord connecting it to the wall was completely absent. The bath and sink came with a fun “imagination required” feature: no plugs. Fancy a soak? Not today.

The microwave appeared to be preserving evidence from previous guests, and breakfast was… minimalist. Dry bread was the headline act, while my bottle of orange juice came with a complimentary colony of mold on the cap. It’s not often breakfast fights back.

Then there’s the train. Every hour. All night. And just in case you were somehow asleep, the engineer generously leaned on the horn to make sure you didn’t miss the experience. Forget a wake-up call—you get a wake-up railway.

The mattresses had clearly lived long, adventurous lives and were ready for retirement. The neighbours looked like they were either starring in a crime documentary or simply having a Tuesday.

And yet… here’s the twist: I genuinely enjoyed my stay.

The sheets were spotlessly clean, the receptionist was incredibly friendly, cheerful, and genuinely helpful, and the whole place had such gloriously chaotic “this can’t be real” energy that I couldn’t stop laughing. If you’re looking for luxury, keep driving. If you’re looking for a memorable story that your friends will ass

Fridge in room had previous guest's forgotten crab in the fridge. The room stunk until I got it out. Holes in the walls, noisy neighbors talking loud until 2 am. There is a train track right beside the hotel and you WILL hear it whistle multiple times during the night. Will not stay there again.

This place was just filthy. Checked the sheets first which had numerous short hairs and were most certainly dirty. Asked for new sheets to put on the bed myself and they had rips and holes. The bedspread I just simply put as far away from us as possible. The chairs with the table looked like they came from the dump. Made certain none of our fabrics touched theirs fabrics and ended up just sleeping on top of the sheets I put on in our sleeping bags. The floors left black marks on our socks. The toilet had a paper strip that said sanitized on it but when I lifted the lid it was visibly dirty on the seat. It just felt disgusting to be in this room. After seeing the condition of the room, we did not feel comfortable even looking at the continental breakfast served in the lobby. Upside, t.v., microwave, and refrigerator all worked. The gal at the front desk was very nice.

The price was great. Get get what you pay for sometimes. The place was filthy in the bathroom. No water pressure to speak of. Very noisy including lots of trains. No sheets on the bed or extra blanket. Only a comforter. No coffee maker. The check in only took one minute. That was outstanding!!!! Honestly I rarely write a bad review. This isn't a hotel I will go back to.

It was truly the most disgusting place I've ever stayed, hence not staying. The mattress was soaked in blood stains, box spring, mattress, covering of box spring, everything had blood stains, both chairs were so dirty and stained with broken arms, i didn't even attempt sitting in either. Dug a broken Crack pipe from sink and shower had such minimal pressure, you couldn't even rinse hair. Much less the roar of nonstop trains behind building, railroad crossing 100 feet from building which equals loud train horn all day and all night.

We were very happy with our stay at the Fairgrounds Inn in Monroe, WA. We especially were pleased that our room had normal height beds! We do not like the new Fad with 4 foot high beds. The room was very clean and the staff was very accommodating and kind. We will be staying at the Fairgrounds Inn again should we go back to Monroe.

The floor was sticky - we didn't walk barefoot in the room at all. The bathroom mirror was broken, missing a corner, obviously had been dropped on installation. There was a broken socket in the fixture above the mirror, so a bulb couldn't be installed. the bath towels smelled like smoke. the drawer in one of the bedside tables wouldn't open all the way, had been wet and the particle board had warped. the plastic mattress cover made sleeping uncomfortable. the bedspread was dirty so we had to borrow a blanket elsewhere and sleep in our sweat clothes. there were 3 hangers on the 'closet' rod. One plastic. the 'trash can' outside on the sidewalk is a shopping cart. The only upside to this visit was no bedbugs.

Room was dirty, furniture was 80s vintage, seats were badly stained, shower was a trickle at best, room was never visited by housekeeping for a 3 night stay, waited 5 hours to never be able to use the laundry room. Went to the front desk at 930 am and was told I would be called when it was available, called the front at noon, same response, by 2:30 I just found a local laundry mat. Lots of road, truck, train and siren noise through the night. Lots of people handing out in front glaring at you as you enter and exit your room. Not recommend at all.

That's what I got for trying to save a few dollars. They did clean the toilet and bed sheets. But the bathroom floor was so sticky and the carpet so stained I was afraid to take off my shoes. The bathroom has mold on the ceiling and baseboard as well as near the shower. The microwave was rusty inside and dirty. Drawers had crumbs in them and the shelves above the hangers hasn't been wiped down in who knows how long. I did not find bed bugs though.

Only cheap place in the area, you pay for what you get. Overall the stay was decent, the bedding was clean and comfortable and the towels were nice. The bathroom was not clean, toilet ran constantly, the sink drained slower than slow. If you are a light sleep the train is very close, would not recommend. Otherwise, if you’re on a budget and not overly picky then it will work.

We arrived later than planned a nd were told that our ground floor room was given to someone else, even though I had paid in full for our stay when booking the room. My sister is mobility impaired and needed a ground floor as I requested when I booked the room.
They offered the only available room for the night and said they would put us in a ground floor room in the morning. The room they offered was upstairs, so it was difficult and painful for her to get up the stairs.
Once in the room at 3AM, it was filthy,smelled awful and the floor carpet was stained badly.
The next day we were moved to a ground level room. It was better,but still dirty/ stained carpet,as well as splatters of something on the bathroom walls behind the door.
During the second night stay, my sister got up to use the bathroom and water was dripping from the ceiling vent cover and she nearly slipped and fell on the wet floor. That only happened once,so I really don't know what the cause was,perhaps an overflowing upstairs bathtub.
Overall our stay was fine, it was fairly quiet, but trains do travel right behind the property.
The property was outdated,needs a remodel and lots of repairs.
We won't stay there again,next year,during our festival at Evergreen Fairgrounds.

The property was extremely dirty had not been picked up garbage all over unpainted rickety stairs. My room had before bugs in it and floor made my white socks black. I've buckets from the 70s with no lines and stained inside I saw no ice machine. My door had been kicked in entire door was unsafe had to call maintaining for that as well as TV did not work so maintenance brought another older smaller TV to use.i went to put water bottles in freezer there was food in there so they aren't being cleaned microwave was already 30 years old I did not open m the entire place have me the creeps. I was released from a hospital and was told by the hospital nursing staff this was reasonably priced place to stay and from photos on Expedia the place looks freshly painted with great breakfast bar ... that was 20 years ago maybe!!! It looks NOTHING like this right now. I am from Wenatchee and it being memorial weekend and me stuck there with no car had no choice but to stay I asked janitor to get me fresh sheets and surreptitiously on them sitting up on the couch. It was truly gross DO NOT stay there! I am calling health department about bed bugsI have photos of them evident on the bed it was horrible place and unsure the window can be kicked in and the curtains did not close properly I had to use a hair clip to close them for privacy!

Booked for one night. Floor was extremely sticky. Put my hand into a sticky substance on bedside table. Bed wasn't the most comfortable. Woke up with an extremely stiff neck from pillow that had very little stuffing in it Comforter was slightly stained.
Despite all this, the stay wasn't bad. Place was quiet. The sheets under the comforter were clean. Bathroom was servicably clean. There was one train that passed by, but being a frequent visitor to the U.K, I find train noise relaxing.
NO bed bugs, (or any other type of vermin), which is a big bugaboo of mine. For $40 a night, I'd stay there again.

Pet Friendly room and the room smelled fresh. The property was very basic; 20 yrs ago it would have cost $49 for a room. Micro and fridge was plus for multi day stay. No coffee maker in room. TV and cable worked great, bed comfy. Great water pressure and hot water in shower. Vanity sink very slow to drain, faucet handles touchy for turning off flow. Room was clean. Property also used as UHaul dealer so rear lot was packed Sunday night with trucks. The outside area near building was relatively clean, albeit from smokers who continue to throw butts into the lava rock instead of an ashtray. The rear lot treeline is full of loose trash; unsafe to walk dogs there. I used grassy area in front of building for my pets. Hope you enjoy the sound of trains….about 50 yds from rear side of building are the tracks and they run every 2-3 hours all through the night. Your options are limited unless you don’t mind spending $200 per night for rooms elsewhere. If you can deal with no frills, this is it.

The tub wouldn’t drain due to ALL, the hair in the drain. The amount of hair and the shower walls was unsettling. The carpet was filthy and my husband and I wore our socks the entire time. I pulled the bedding back to get into bed and the sheets were stained. I put down my travel blanket to sleep on. The parking lot was disgraceful. The amount of cigarettes, thrown everywhere. We will never stay there again. Scary dirty.

The property is poorly maintained. Might not be dirty, but feels crummy. Super thin sheets, cheap uncomfortable mattress, no glasses or cups in the room, but available in the office. Worn and frayed carpet. Shower didn't work, no way to turn it on. We only stayed because it was convenient to the fairgrounds. Would not recommend if you are looking for a nice room. 😕

I don’t usually leave reviews but I chose to leave this place and find another hotel because of how unclean and uncomfortable it was. Sticky floors, stains on the bed, big spiders, the single use cups were used and dirty, hole in the wall, smelled awful. I was there for all of 20 minutes and scrambled to find another place and left. Please save yourself the money and time!

Our room for 3 nights was terrible. To begin...walked inside was a old smell, carpets to drapes need to be washed, I smelled POT and drug related odor from next door. Old room, TV remote didn't work.
**** Pleased be advise the Freight train runs thru the back of the MOTEL (It's not a Hotel)..several times a day and at Night (past midnight, to the various times 3am,5am,6 am) you can REALLY feel the ground shake for several minutes. Bring ear plugs PLEASE *****
On our last night (Finally) the Next door unit (we are both ground level) BAD argument inside the Next door motel Room, Swearing, Fighting, Slamming of the door. This lasted from 1:00am to 2:00 am. NO Respect to other MOTEL guests. The motel residence were local Flood relief/displacement Monroe Residences. They were not thinking of Motel quest and other local/Monroe Flood Victims staying in the Motel at the 2nd floor to several units or some motel doors away or nearby. Breakfast bad because by 9am.. all the food is gone as it's starts at 6am. A local Flood victim motel guest says it's not fair that right at 6am, someone or several guest comes in at 6:0am and walks out with several Breakfast plates of food stacked high and takes most of the breakfast food away. The picture you see is nothing like what it is. I would like a refund or something from Expedia. Too bad the staff has to deal with the complaints from other Motel Guests (Past and Future).

I had two room the first one was dirty under the sheets there was hair on sheets I sleep on top of covers freezing at night and blood stains on side of mattress. I rented an other room very clean but no toilet paper I do rate second room good. Just no toilet paper. lol ☹️ because I didn’t get a rental car I had to make the best of it.

Rats everywhere and my service dog chased one out of our room which upon reporting it i was called a liar and told to leave. Im disabled and have a 4 yr old son. I've never been treated so badly.

The main problem with the room it smell like Lysol heavy Lysol spray mixed with smoke. They couldn’t handle putting toilet paper on the toilet paper roll. The floor had unswept dirt . The TV was so small they propped it up on the microwave. Because this was a third party booking I can’t get my money back.
It was so BAD we couldn’t stay there. It took hours then having dinner to help clean the back of my throat. Oh wasn’t going to mention the dead rat and garbage outside the door.

I stayed here because I needed a place since where I lived was having water/well issues. It was very inexpensive and gave me a place to shower. That’s what I needed. The place wasn’t that clean… my room had a lot of fruit flies that I could not find out where they came from. The floor wasn’t clean, the bottom of my feet would get instantly dirty when I removed my shoes. The food was the very nice person at the front desk! The bed only had the sheets and a comforter - no blanket… the person at the desk gave me and awesome thick blanket that made the bed comfortable. Outside was alright, except the pile up of trash at all the garbage cans over the weekend. I was there for 6 nights. I guess if you want your room cleaned during the time you stay, you have to request it. My room was never touched. First time at a hotel that did that.

Guy at the front desk was very nice and polite. The bathroom.
Conditions of the room were less than acceptable. Counter tops had food on them, water pressure was low, faucet leaked and black hairs in the shower.
