We booked a stay at Hotel LBI specifically to keep our family (including 2 young children and a baby) warm and safe during the snowstorm. Unfortunately, the hotel lost power around 10 PM, and it never returned during our stay.

When we asked the front desk about heat, we were told — very rudely — that there would be no heat all night. With three children, including a baby, in the middle of a blizzard, this was terrifying. No extra or warm blankets were offered, and our family of five had to sleep together in one bed with thin hotel sheets, just to stay warm.

By morning, there was still no power. Despite guests being snowed in, there were no basic provisions — no water, no breakfast, and barely any coffee. Guests were sharing a single Keurig machine with limited supplies. One polite woman from Denmark gave me her coffee since there was none left as she said she was just using it warm her hands since we were still without heat.

We received no refund or compensation, even though we had no power, no heat, and no amenities the entire stay. The food we brought spoiled in the refrigerator, and we were left feeling scared and helpless trying to keep our children — especially our baby — safe.

This experience was extremely disappointing and unacceptable given the circumstances.

Absolutely 5 stars from me — LBI Hotel is top notch from the moment you walk in. The suites are spacious and super clean, the rooftop and pool area are awesome, and the whole place just has that perfect LBI vibe. The staff makes everything easy and welcoming — it’s definitely one of my go-to spots on the island.

My first time staying. Staff was not friendly. Staff at the restaurants were very unorganized didn’t get orders correctly. I was just disappointed being it was an upscale hotel.. had a fire in the second floor we were evacuated. Not once heard anything positive going back into our rooms.

I booked a corner room 3 years in a row. My nephew has lost her father tragically three years ago at 40 years old. It’s a thing we’ve been doing. We ended up with a completely different room. The girl at the front desk was not accommodating. The room had no utensils. No way to cook food no plates. I am extremely disappointed.

We absolutely love this hotel. Would recommend it highly. Absolutely beautiful when you get to the first floor. They have everything you would want in a hotel. The rooms were amazing. We got a suite with a kitchen refrigerator all the amenities everything that you needed if you chose to cook inside beautiful bed, comforter pillows, couch, great storage and a beautiful size bathroom. The one thing they do need to do is put a safe in each room.

The hotel was absolutely fabulous in every way, considering it was off-season, and so some amenities were not available. The staff went out of their way to make everything great for us! The only issue was beyond their control in that at 7:45 in the morning construction began right outside our window, and we could not enjoy the balcony at all for breakfast or coffee. It was so noisy that it was even hurt inside our room, which was otherwise very quiet. However, again, the staff was wonderful and the venue was absolutely beautiful.

The only complaint I have is the views from most of the rooms are very limited and show mainly a busy street that is on both sides of the hotel. The rooms on the highest floor have some views but none were available during our stay.

This is my third year booking a week long trip for the family at LBI and Hotel LBI continues to be my preferred place for accommodations. It all started with a birthday party a few years ago hosted at this hotel. We fell in love and decided to make this is an annual memory. It's just a picturesque property fit for the shore. Service, rooms, and accommodations are top-notch. I can't say enough about this place.

Zero pool management. Paying $800 for a night I’d expect a higher standard.
I get it. Kids and a pool, it’s play time. Says no jumping and cannonball contest was annoying. No staff managing it. When they hit us the third time the ball was thrown at our sun chairs, they made me do the managers job and tell their parents to handle it. Shame. Really wanted the place to be better than that. Everything else was 10/10. Pool would never go back.

Property is in better condition than other properties on LBI and seems they’ve been maintaining for a few years now. Exterior noise is reasonably good seeing that it’s right at the main bridge onto LBI. Kids running down the hallway and overhead a bit more intrusive. Happy to have a solid hotel in such a highly seasonal location and that they seem to be maintaining it to a higher standard than other properties on the island.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Hotel LBI celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary! The staff went above and beyond to make us feel celebrated- from the champagne waiting for us in our room to an Anniversary card! Every employee on the property was warm and welcoming and the amenities are beyond- from a new rooftop overlooking a beautiful view to bikes, towels, beach chairs + badges available to rent. We will definitely be back!

Its location is convenient to get to either side of the island, with shuttle services to and from the beach, which is super.
