Overall nice stay, clean rooms and friendly staff. Our only real issue was the heater in room did not work. I heard same from a few others who were staying as well. They did provide a space heater which worked well, but I did not feel safe sleeping with it on.

Parking was easy as was the check-in. Very welcoming. Room was very clean and had everything we required for 1 night stay. Was late arriving and early leaving so did not get a chance to try the restaurant. Was very quiet for been so close to a road so had a very peaceful and relaxing sleep. I would return again.

Such a shame.

My third visit to this hotel. Sadly it wasn’t as good as previous visits. The room had a stale smell, there were splashes of who knows what up the walls, probably tea/coffee, and the edges around the bath were disgusting. The mattress was so uncomfortable. Shower curtain rail was hanging off the wall. The only positive was the food in the restaurant was good.

You get what you pay for. It’s next to a Asda but the area was very quiet and we slept really well. Room was clean and comfortable with air con. Breakfast was cracking with great choice and cooked fresh. The staff were helpful professional and all lovely .
It was perfect for what we wanted to go see a gig in Edinburgh

One lunch and two breakfast - Not great. Main entrance to premises/dining area - glass door filthy with hand and fingerprints. Room had not been cleaned when we checked in at 2.0 pm. It was cleaned eventually - pretty basic. Surprised that there was no facility to charge cell phones - very inconvenient! Unsightly, overgrown hedge outside our window, #21. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Not great value . money.

A Good Reasonably Priced Hotel/pub

The Pine Marten is very reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area. The hotel building is separate from the pub so no noise. The bedroom was clean with all facilities. The bed was (unlike in some hotels) very comfortable. Had continental breakfast each day at £6 odd. It was adequate but no yoghurt mixed with berries like at Premier Inn and Holiday Inn Express. This is fairly basic Pub accomodation.
Small minimally furnished room. Only one chair. 'Pub grub' fine if you are in to swill down a few pints.
On the positive, the staff were polite and attentive.
We were there for two nights to attend a wedding nearby so it did the job. Not somewhere I would choose to stay for a holiday.

We had a one night stay here. The location was easy to get to, just off the A1, and there was plenty of parking. To check in you have to go into the Marstons pub where there is a small reception desk. We checked in and then you go to the seperate accommodation block. There is a large Asda and a very nice garden centre just across from the site.
We ate in the pub restaurant which was nice food at a reasonable price. The room was big enough for us and was comfortable. We slept well.
Breakfast was back at the pub restaurant. You had to order your cooked choice but the cereal, toast etc was self service.
The accommodation is reasonably priced and I would stay here again, mostly due to the convenient location.

The one drawback is that when the weather is bad (and it wasn't during my stay) you have to walk in the open between the restaurant and the accommodation.

Very friendly staff in pub next door, although ecerything from the Scottish breakfast was out of stock. Room was clean, good shower, but couldnt watch tv, or even listen to the radio, as the it kept losing connection every few minutes. Personally i do not like having to check in at the pub next door, no reception at hotel, when you need extra tea or toilet roll you have to ask at the pub not ideal.

All good when we arrived. Room was well prepared with tea, coffee and milk sachets. Lovely towels too. However on the second day of our stay the room was not serviced so we had to buy tea and coffee. Even worse, the towels weren’t replaced so we had to use damp towels the second day. As we paid the full price for each day I think the room should have been serviced the second day.

We booked two rooms for the trip back from Edinburgh to Teesside after our holiday.
The hotel is conveniently located and considering the Fringe is on was priced at a much more acceptable rate.
Rooms were modern and cosy with coffee making machines. We never went to breakfast because we arrived in the early hour of the morning.

In my wife and daughter it even came with a surprise guest already in bed!! This should never have happened and my wife and daughter were mortified. The poor guy in bed probably didnt know what day of the week it was eiher!!

Had this not have happened I would have scored the hotel higher. The porter/night-supervisor was able to sort another room but only because a guest had failed to turn up. Lord only knows what we would have done otherwise.

Very basic but functional and served the purpose of breaking up the journey from Perth to The Midlands.
Pretty noisy at night with people leaving the pub next door.
Staff were very friendly and attentive.
Room price was fair but pub food & drink a little overpriced for the portions provided.
Having an ASDA and McDonald’s in the door step was very useful for sure and it’s right on the A1

Because the pub and restaurant are separate from the accommodation block, there was no noise which was just perfect for us.
Breakfasts were well cooked, fresh, and very tasty.
Dunbar was a lovely town with independent shops, cool harbour area, and lots of accessible information for the tourist.

We stopped at the Pine Marten for 2 nights. The hotel is in a very convenient spot and was well located for us. Our room was fine - clean and comfortable with all the basic facilities necessary.
Check in and check out was easy. We had a ground floor room with level access.
The staff at the hotel and associated pub were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. The food was great and they were very keen to make sure that my food allergies were catered for. A good hotel 👍
